Today I'm gonna talk to you about why self-confidence is killing your

motivation and how to fix it.

I'm gonna tell you why self-confidence is

important to be a productive artist.

What the causes of poor self-confidence are.

And some solutions to help you build more self-confidence.

So why is self-confidence important for becoming a

better artist?

If you have low self-esteem it's going to impact your

motivation.

Your motivation to work on your art to get better to put in the

effort is going to be impacted.

When you work on your motivation and your

self-confidence together these two things feed off of each other.

Another reason to care about your

self-confidence is that the quality of your artwork will improve when you have

more self-confidence.

I don't know if you've noticed this but when I sit down

to draw if I'm feeling confident before I begin the quality of the artwork I

produce usually ends up being better than on days when I'm feeling really

crummy about myself.

Another reason you should care about your self-confidence is

it'll help you get better at art faster.

How does this work?

If you're more confident you'll create more art and the

more art you create the better you'll get faster.

It's all about practice we gotta practice practice practice and

then we get better.

So what are some causes?

What are the things that are making us feel shitty about ourselves?

Past failures is really one of them.

Like if you've had a lot of failure in your past, even if it doesn't have to do with

art like maybe it's with homework or schoolwork especially those of us with

ADHD have had many past failures in our lives and that impacts our

self-confidence in our ability to create more art.

so for example if you've started many projects in the past and

didn't finish many of them that's probably going to negatively impact your

self-confidence and then in turn prevent you from creating more art.

I don't know about you, but I've started a bajillion

projects and haven't finished most of them.

those are all failures.

another reason you may be struggling with self-confidence is because of your

mental health.

obviously if you've got ADHD, depression anxiety these types of

mental health challenges really do impact our self-confidence in a big way.

for example you may have a lot of negative thoughts in your head

about yourself, about your ability to work, about your ability to do schoolwork,

about your ability to take care of your home.

whatever it is those impact our self-confidence.

each one of those thoughts chips away at it.

another reason is "perfectonism".

I mean "perfectionism."

now some artists will tell you that perfectionism is a really good

thing to have, that it will help you produce better quality art. and maybe

that works for some people but I think for most of us who are in this audience

that struggle with mental health perfectionism is actually a bad thing.

here's an example of how perfectionism has stopped me in the past from creating

art.

I for a long time really wanted to create a pasta bowl for my husband like

paint it with my artwork on it because we eat a lot of pasta, although not so

much now because we're on a little carb diet but we still indulge every once in

a while.

so I've been wanting to create this for him for years and I never got

around to doing it and it wasn't because I didn't have the time it was more that

I figured it probably wasn't gonna come out the way that I wanted, so why even

bother creating it. and I finally realized hey that's perfectionism if you

think: "oh I'm not gonna do this thing because it's not gonna turn out perfect"

that's not helping you.

perfectionism is not helping you in that case, it's just preventing you from creating.

And I'm proud to say that I did finally last Christmas, I created this

wonderful pasta bowl for my husband with with some of my characters on it and

with Mario on it and "shit pickle".

like it turned out awesome: I'm really happy with

how this turned out and it's a shame that I didn't do it sooner because I

could have been creating a lot more of these sorts of things.

anyway I'm really proud of myself because I defeated my

perfectionism and created this awesome thing for my husband.

and another thing that holds us back is comparing

ourselves to others.

many of us do this where we see another artist who's so

much better than us and then we're like "why even bother trying like there's so

much better" and that's holding us back.

alright, so what are some solutions to these problems that I've outlined.

number one: if you do have a mental health

challenge please get treatment for it if you aren't already.

getting treatment for your mental health has a huge impact on your

self-confidence, so just doing that alone is going to be a huge start for you. and

I think it's hard for some of us to prioritize that because we think it's

not that important, but it really is, it affects every aspect of our lives and if

we are working hard on treating it we are more likely to be self-confident.

sometimes we just have to acknowledge that self-care will help us to help

other people better.

and your art really depends on it

your art depends on you taking care of yourself.

another solution is to change the metric of success.

what do I mean by this? so artists often will judge their

level of success based on how good the art is after they've completed it. and

that's one way to do it but the reality is we're gonna create a lot of crappy

drawings, we're gonna create a lot of crappy art not every art we create is

going to look good.

it just happens.

it's part of the process and if we're creating crappy art and we're using

quality as a measure of success our self-confidence is going to suffer.

so what we need to do is change with that

metric of successes.

for example, instead of judging success based on how good the

art is after you're done with it measure success as how frequently your drawing

or how many minutes of drawing or art you've gotten in or how many pieces of

artwork you've completed.

another way to help you with your self-confidence is to

celebrate your success.

so if you've changed your metric of success to say

drawing five times a week and you've actually completed that, will tell a

friend about it.

let your friends help you build your self-confidence!

let them be a means of encouraging you and helping, helping you with your

confidence.

another way to celebrate your success is to join a community.

actually with PaperDemon we have a community here of other artists who are

also trying to build more positive mindset. we have a discord server and we

even have a specific channel dedicated to celebrating success, where we each

share: "hey I did this thing or I did another thing and I did it". you know we

give each other positive encouragement and say "way to go, good job".

this may seem small but it actually has a positive effect; it's worth doing.

also we do have a monthly meetup where we all

meet live in real time and chat about our art.

we just had a meet-up this last weekend where we were all sharing

our success and celebrating our success with participating in inktober.

so we all had different metrics of success, you

know inktober is normally drawing every day for 31 days.

which is really difficult to do so many of us set

different expectations or metrics of success.

for me it was five drawings for the month and instead of 31. and then we

celebrated that and got you know encourage one another with the progress

that we've made.

the fourth solution I'm gonna give you is to

rewire your mindset: to produce more positive thoughts to help you to feel

more confident about yourself and your artwork. and I'm gonna cover that in the

In this special episode I would like to share about low self esteem.

I know many of us deal with this problem, I personal experienced this for almost 10

years so I hope these 5 tips can help you to regain and live your life to the fullest:

let's begin at once.

When it comes to life, we are only given two choices: enjoy and take full advantage of

it's gift or suffer and be miserable in its existence.

Life doesn't care whether we are simply existing or living; that's not its purpose.

why do you have low self esteem?

Did someone force it upon you, did you yourself merely give rise to its existence due to unforeseen

circumstances, where you naturally born with it, or just maybe and slowly you developed

it over many years of unfortunate events.

1.

Incorporate Meditation Daily

Meditation is one of IF NOT the most powerful method to help you deal with low self-esteem.

The millions who practice meditation daily see life changing results.

This isn't new, in fact meditation was practiced about 5000 years ago.

How you feel, act, live day by day is caused by the way you deal with those things through

your mind.

Meditation has 1000's of benefits pertaining to your health, body, mind, soul, and spirit.

It will definitely help with low self esteem.

I practice meditation in the morning (20 minutes each season) and before bed everyday and I

can assure you that it has help me in so many ways, not just with low self esteem.

You see, the mind is the most powerful thing in this world.

Meditation allows one to control and master their mind.

It is said that once you master your mind, you can master anything.

One can LITERALLY create their own world with their mind which in turn is their reality.

Work Out A Few Times A Week Low self esteem can be a result of being overweight

or too skinny, having a short stature, looking unattractive, and so forth.

let's say you really are short or overweight; people will stare at you briefly and then

continue on with whatever they are doing.

In 100 years from now, none of any of this will matter, why?

Because everyone alive now will most likely be dead!

When you workout, many wonderful things happen to your health, body, and mind.

(See where we are going with this?)

You don't have time?

Well try working out intensely 3-4 times a week for 20 minutes rather and 45-60 minutes.

Intense short workouts are actually more beneficial than long easy/moderate workouts.

Not only do you save so much more time, but you reap so more benefits.

Plus working out releases so much of the bad stress in us, so if you are having a bad day,

week, or life then will work out.

Lifting weights, sprinting, swimming, jumping, carrying heavy objects, and the likes are

consider intense workouts.

Working out has over 100 benefits, and you bet helping with low self esteem is one of

them!

If you're lazy then here's the short version.

When you work out, you release bad stress and force your body to get in shape.

When you have a strong and great body, what naturally happens?

You feel good about yourself, people start to positively notice your change, you definitely

get stronger and all the health benefits that your body will reap.

A healthy body will more than likely produce a healthy mind versus an unhealthy body.

Let's say that you actually believe you are ugly and have an unattractive body.

If you can't change your facial appearance now (with surgery you can but take extreme

caution) then work on your body.

We humans are so obsessed with the materialistic world that we forgot the most valuable thing,

OURSELVES!

Why work all those brutal and unforgiving hours to buy materialistic things.

As far as I can tell, your body is the greatest thing and priceless.

Both men and women appreciate someone that takes care of themselves physically and mentally

because it shows that you care about yourself.

Confidence is attractive and sexy as hell.

Self-compliment Yourself Do you remember the last time you said something

nice to someone?

Probably so, however can you remember the last time you complimented yourself?

We love our family, friends, but we often neglect the one person that is the most important

to us.

I'm talking about you.

Every morning, if not every time you pass the mirror, just give yourself a few compliments.

"I am beautiful", "I am strong", "I am healthy",and so on.

Make sure to say I am, not I'm, as the first 2 words so your mind knows who you are talking

about and the word "am" gives it more authority and power.

If you do this every single day for as long as you can, we promise you will see amazing

changes.

Be sure to also visualize and feel the words you are saying, it only makes it more real

and effective.

Self-compliment has to do with how the subconscious mind works.

Your unconscious mind is always communicating with your conscious mind through your subconscious

thoughts and beliefs.

It's just like meditation.

When you repetitively repeat positive thoughts and actions, your mind believes it to be real

thus you will slowly become that of which you practice.

That is why people with low self esteem are always down and pessimistic because they are

constantly telling themselves they are not worth it through their beliefs, actions, and

feelings.

They have created this dark and unpleasant world within themselves, which in fact is

real to them but not to others.

Words can have very powerful meaning.

Communication is one of the most important aspect in this world if not this universe.

That is why we urge you to compliment yourself on a daily basis.

4.

Accept Who You Are And Change What You Can It would be nice to accept who you are but

what if you can not, then change what you can.

Money can change your appearance but only you can change your mentality.

If you do get plastic surgery, how can you know for sure that it will change you?

Ok, so do you see the issue or should I say a secret here?

You have subconsciously made something that didn't even happen into a reality!

You are using an external factor/force (plastic surgery) to create this illusion of happiness

or pride.

Why can't you create this happy world without external factors?

Because of lack of education and research.

if you want great things then you gotta work for it.

Let's say you can not walk, bound to a wheel chair.

Again, you have 2 choices: accept the reality and go on living or do not accept.

However, if you do not accept, what can you do?

Surgery won't help (assuming), rehabilitation is out of the question, forcing yourself to

walk isn't possible.

That really only leaves one option, yes?

Is it not better to accept who you are instead of making your own life even more difficult?

How can you start accepting yourself?

If you can improve on what you can not accept but able to improve it, then do so.

It is not better to improve just a little bit than nothing at all?

Start using internal factors to make yourself happy and accept yourself.

If you so badly want to be happy, be accepted, live life, achieve your goals, and let nothing

stand in your way, then you will find a way.

Winners find a way, and you are a winner.

5.

You Actually Don't Have It Bad I can assure you that whatever problems you

think you have, someone else has it worse, or maybe billions of others have it worse.

Yes 1 billion people have some form of disablitiy!

That's why we should all accept who we are because when we think we have it so bad, there

are others who have it worse and they find a way to be happy and love themselves for

who they are.

That is what makes them different from someone who has low self esteem.

I urge you to visit a poor nation and see how bad you have it.

Low self esteem doesn't even exit.

Food, water, and survival are the only thing that matters, not even shelter!

Your perspective will change real fast.

Imagine it's WWII all over again.

Ummn, does anyone actually give a flying fudge about if you have low self esteem.

We live in a society that is dictated by beauty, fame, power, riches, etc.

That's not the issue.

Do you want to know what the real issue is?

It's you.

You have allow this poison to engulf your very mind.

external factors are really hard to ignore and eliminate once it has seep into your mind.

Learn how to appreciate what matters the most, money, just kidding, we meant you.

You will be much happier, have a better and easier life, be thankful for not having anything

which is really having everything.

The End How many people do you think are successful,

get what they want in life, or live the life they desire?

20%?

10%?Try 8%!

I can tell you that you aren't part of that 8% if you have low self esteem.

Low self esteem can not only make life that much harder and have a negative effect on

pretty much anything.

Now the real question is, do you want to start living or simply exist, because 92% of use

are just merely existing.

We all have one life, one body, and an infinite opportunity.

Use it wisely because this offer only comes once in a lifetime!

Most people have got a metre, they call it a BS metre, I better not say any

more on air but you know they're fed up with this sort of thing and that's

why you know they're fed up with politics as well. We talked about the

banking Royal Commission and we need a politics Royal Commission to see the way

that people are putting their self-interest ahead of the people that

they're supposed to serve and represent. I'm not for left or right, I'm not for

red or blue, I'm not for liberal or labour but literally I'm in for a fair

go. When people go to vote at the next federal election, which is in the next

few months, what happens is they get two votes not one. We're very special in

Australia we get two votes. One vote in the House of Representatives for the

people that you want to vote in to form government - and your second vote is for

the Senate. And if you vote in the Senate you've got the opportunity to vote for

either the major parties or a minor party or the Greens. And the Greens have

been controlling the Senate for the last twenty years and their legacy and their

policies have infected the major parties and so Labor and Liberal have really

been infected by this cultural Marxism, this identity politics, this sort of

stuff. For the last 20 years the Greens have called the tune and look at the

mess we've gotten ourselves into. So the Conservatives are saying you can vote

for whatever party you want to form government whether it's Labor or

Liberal it's not my business. But the second vote you get, if you vote

Conservatives we don't have to get 51% of the vote. There's six seats up for

grabs - Two are gonna go to the Liberal Party probably three are going to go

to the Labor Party there's one seat left. The Greens have got about eight and

a half percent of the vote and there are six senators up for grabs across

Australia in Victoria here we've got one green senator and I intend to take that

final seat and get rid of the Greens. And if we do that in every other state we could

have six or seven Conservatives as the balance of power in the Senate and we

could actually roll back a lot of this political correctness, this identity

politics, this whole craziness that's going on and every piece of legislation

we can look at it and we can we can actually destroy the Greens we've got to

cut off the Serpent's head

another Sims 4 news bit video now before I begin I've on you just wanna let you

hopefully it doesn't sound as equity as the last video I am actually traveling

and the place I'm at is not really good for recording with that said today we're

catching up on the latest news from the sims 4 so let's jump in first up let's

catch up with the sims Mobile so the trick-or-treat Halloween event is

available for a limited time giving players 10 days to complete the

necessary steps that will reward them with the final Mystics table reward this

event also grants candy corn for completing every day and event related

tasks and is the required currency to purchase the various new halloween

create a sim and build and buy items to check out a step-by-step guide on

completing this quest head over to sims VIP calm next up let's check out what's

coming with the next game patch I know we've all been waiting for this and the

time has come so with all the new information released from the sims 4 get

famous Sims camp event last week many of the attendees gave us information

regarding the upcoming November game patch let's go ahead and recap on all

the goodies that are coming to our game soon first is terrain manipulation now

the sims team already confirmed this feature some time ago but we now have

some additional info bits from attendees some of what is mentioned is that Sims

will be able to go uphill if the terrain isn't too steep and after having some

hands-on time with the actual tools they have stated that the tools are pretty

easy to use next is the style influencer career this is yet another feature that

they announced some time ago and this new career will allow sims to work from

home or head off into a rabbit hole next is a revamped game tutorial so polish

fansite Dotson confirm that the sims 4 will be receiving a brand new game

tutorial that includes a narrator who dives deep into the features of the game

now this option can be turned off at any time and it will greet you at the start

of your new game next are some minor UI changes so polish fan site dot sim once

again confirmed that the game patch is going to bring some changes to the UI so

for example aspirations and create-a-sim will now be square instead of circular

and the magnifying glass that appears when you're zooming out in the

has been replaced with a car icon now it's been confirmed that they're not

all these little hints in the game next up is the ability for Simms to label

themselves a self-employed this one really made me happy so popular Sims

youtuber Vic's Ella confirmed in her overview video that the patch is going

to add the ability for sims to register a custom career also known as

self-employment now the way this works is Sims will select the new register

with Ministry of Labor interaction on their cell phone and then they can fill

in the blanks on this pop-up that appears there's no specific skills or

actions that are tied to these careers but it does allow your sims to freelance

and not be labeled as unemployed next is the world selection menu that we talked

about in the last video so push fan site dot sim confirm that the world selector

menu is getting a much needed upgrade as well the world icons are gonna be

decreased in size and a while for a better overview of the worlds and last

but not least something new now dot sim has also indicated that the Sims team

will be adding another new feature to the game with the patch but we're not

gonna know what that is until Maxis reveals it during the next Maxis monthly

livestream on November 6 now speaking of this secret something

during the first official get famous livestream last week sim gurus went into

live mode and quickly closed out a challenge pop-up similar to those that

are seen in the past with Jasmine Holliday now it's unknown what this

challenge is gonna bring to the game but we do know that it's at least 40 days

long and it's called the quote positivity challenge now it's unclear

whether this is what that special something dot sim was talking about so

we'll just have to wait and see when this thing is gonna end up in the game

now last but not least since Sims News is an update to the ball pit that was

released last year with the sims 4 toddler stuff so when the sims 4 Tyler

stuff was released one of the biggest issues for many players was the visual

appearance of the functional ball pit now just a few weeks after it was

released Maxis released the game patch to address the flat texture and improve

the appearance now during the get famous Sims camp event in London 10 days ago

popular Sims youtuber the sim Supply joined sim guru Graham in a real life

ball pit to discuss the real story behind the sims for toddler stuffs ball

pit scandal now during the interview sim gurugram states that the original plan

for the jungle gym was for it to be a fully modular jungle gym now this

created an issue down the road before release where the entire model needed to

be reconstructed in order to be released as functional so what happened is in the

end the texture of the ball pit suffered but they did eventually fix it now over

on Twitter for the first time Simcoe Graham gave us a look at the original

toddler jungle gym that he mentioned during the interview you can see that it

originally was intended to look like three different pieces but was actually

one single object he stated that the tunnel piece was envisioned more for

venues than home Lots but that was another aspect of the original version

that they felt was important to adjust as you can see this issue caused the

item to be reconstructed in order to ship without causing issues for players

so we never did get the original plan for the jungle gym but at least sim guru

granth took the time to share some background on what happened with that

ball pit he then concluded on Twitter with a few tweets stating the following

as I touched on in the interview we had some ambitious goals for this path as we

work through technical implementation challenges work between various

disciplines was getting out of sync resulting in an object that didn't

really behave the way you'd expect you in a sin looking back I learned

important lessons that made me a stronger producer moving for chiefly

making a difficult decision that burdens the team but is ultimately necessary for

our players doesn't absolve us if that results in quality control slipping

elsewhere ultimately I am happy that we were able to patch it quickly to get

everyone more balls and quite proud of the team for rallying around the

requested changes to make something even better so at least we were able to get

the real story behind what happened with the awful texture of this ball pit be

you're addicted to the struggle? It may be around your self-care and your health.

It may be in the area of love, or prosperity, or abundance, or impact. Where do

you feel like no matter how hard you try you never get anywhere? It's a constant

struggle. I want you to listen to this audio through the lens of that

struggle, so we can start shifting this perspective right here and right now.

We're fed this idea that struggling to find success is more

noble, right?! Like there's kind of this heroism around it, that if I struggled

and I worked really hard to find success then

tastes sweeter at the top. We see this all the time and being

busy is the most socially accepted addiction in our society nowadays. The

more things I get checked off my checklist the better person I am!

We really are tying our self-worth to a lot of external things

including our busyness which in turn relates to our struggle (because it's

hard). "I've got a lot going on right now!" You can see how

there's in some way some sort of a badge of honor when you say that you're really

busy. That's because we feel like we always need to be in motion for us to

find success in areas of our life, especially where we've had a really hard

time. I just need to work harder. I just need to be more discipline. I just have

to not eat the sugar. I just need to move my butt more. I just need a be in control

and be moving forward to find success... But what if it's your addiction

to the struggle that is actually keeping you stuck or moving at a snail's pace?

Now the reason why I tell you this is because I absolutely have been addicted

to the struggle! I'm still working on dismantling this idea that I have to

struggle to find success. I'm still trying to get into the "ease boat." I'm

still working on it. I've had a lot of instances in my life

recently where I can see that when I just let go of the oars and I get into

the flow of life and I let go of control and I let go of this idea that it needs

to be hard. Things start showing up. Synchronicities start to happen.

Opportunities start knocking on the door without me even trying. I all of a sudden

get this amazing idea that I want to take action on. It's not something that

I'm forcing myself to do to find success. I think there's this idea that

when you eat when you get into a place of ease and you start to relax a little

bit that either nothing happens or it's just all magical and you're just sitting

back like the whole idea of visualization I'm a huge fan of

visualization and vision boards and stuff like that but um just sitting back

and and visualizing and then watching things appear you you know like getting

in this this place of ease which is a very feminine power strategy it actually

creates a lot of action but the action is based in love not fear so a lot of

personal development experts say that there are really two emotions at the

root of all emotions there's two emotions it's either fear or love right

and so when you think about where your actions are stemming from are your

actions stemming from a place of fear I need to find love because I'm getting

older and I want to have kids I need to lose weight because summer is coming up

and I don't want people to judge me right you can see that that is very

fear-based as opposed to I need to find love I want

to find love I'm inviting love into my life because I want to feel that deep

connection that I already have with myself with somebody else I want to get

my health and my self-care into alignment because I deserve to feel good

every freaking day do you see how one is rooted in fear and one is rooted in love

and so when you step into this place of ease they're actually create it actually

curry a lot of action but the action feels so

freakin good I'll give you one more example in terms of movement we buy this

exercise program right that tells us we need to work out on certain days do

certain things and it's very structured and it's it's very strategic it's very

masculine right and so Tuesday happens we get home from work we look at the

calendar and it's like oh I got to do this cardio video but I've been super

stressed out I've been super stressed out and I just don't feel like doing it

but I got to do it I got to do it because I got to lose weight gotta lose

weight someone's coming up gotta lose weight got to get rid of the cellulite

so you force yourself to work out even though it doesn't feel good for you it's

a homework assignment it's checking something off your box

so you can feel good by that check box right you not feel good from just moving

your body in a way that feels good like maybe it would be better for you to do

like go for a nice relaxing walk or a yoga video but you're you're tying your

self-esteem now to your checklist and you can see how that's not sustainable

it doesn't feel good it doesn't feel good you're not going to create a habit

that at the root of it feels not so good as opposed to settling into this idea of

ease and self-care and self-love and seeing movement as a way to love

yourself and to feel good you get home from work you're in a relaxed state

because being in more of this feminine power you tend to be more relaxed

because you aren't tying your self-worth to your to-do list you get home you

gotta do this you gotta do this gotta do this right you're in a more relaxed

state and then you just get an idea of this feeling in your body you're like

you know what it's a beautiful day I really feel like moving my body my

body's a little antsy right now maybe I'm gonna go for a fast walk or a jog

and just enjoy myself so do you do you see what I'm saying can

you see the difference here so that's what I'm welcoming you into right now

because ease is not a facade things can be easy we are we are taught wrong we

are taught that it has to be a struggle and it has to be hard and then we get

addicted to the struggle raise your hand if you are addicted to the struggle I'm

raising my hand right now right and then there gets to be this

idea that I need to be in control I need to be in control because if I'm not in

control the world it's going to fall apart and we'll talk more about this

whole idea of control later on this month so let's settle into a new vision

okay so just get comfortable here and just let yourself really get lost in

these words and feelings and open yourself up to a new possibility a new

way of operating so what are you going to give up

I'm gonna give up the struggle I'm gonna give up the battle I'm gonna give up

this deception of control I'm gonna give up the uncontrollable give up the stress

give up the expectation give up the judgement right when you're giving up so

but it's something your what else are you giving into I'm giving into the joy

I'm giving into my goodness I'm giving into abundance

I'm giving into alignment I'm getting out of the struggle and I'm getting into

alignment I'm giving up the battle and I'm giving into self-love

I'm giving into worthiness I'm giving into the beautiful unfolding of life I'm

giving up the battle I'm giving into the flow I'm getting into receiving the good

yeah and giving in to receiving I'm opening myself up to receiving I'm

giving in to receiving I'm giving into the ease I'm giving into

relaxation I'm giving into rest I'm giving into

naps I'm giving up the obsession I'm giving up the stress I'm giving up

control

I'm giving into feeling empowered I'm giving into self compassion

I'm giving into forgiveness

I'm giving into acceptance I'm giving up perfectionism and I'm giving into being

a human give it up just feel yourself give it up right now

let it go shake it off remind yourself I don't want to prescribe to this anymore

I believe it can be easy I can believe it can feel good I believe in

synchronicity I believe in getting into the flow I believe that it can feel good

most of the time I believe it can be easy I can start believing I can try to

believe that it can be easy can it be easy can it be easy maybe that's a

little easier to settle in to doesn't kick up so much resistance can it be

easy show me how it can be easy show me how I can enjoy this show me how it can

just happen show me how to get into alignment

show me how to give up the struggle in the battle show me how to put it to rest

I give in to my joy I give in to my goodness I give in to my abundance I

give in to the alignment I give in to the self-love I give in to the

worthiness I give in to the unfolding of life I give in to the trust I give in to

the flow I give in to receiving all the good that is available to me I give in

to the ease I get into the relaxation I give in to the rest I give in to

channeling your lady of leisure I give in to feeling empowered I give up the

hopelessness the powerlessness and I give in to feeling empowered I give in

to self compassion I give in to forgiveness I give in to the ease so now

let's just connect with the part of yourself that's having a hard time

getting on board with this idea of ease so if you're able to put everything to

one side and just go through this with me for the next few minutes and close

your eyes great if not and you're up moving around just go through it in your

mind's eye place your hand on your belly and if you're able to close your eyes

take a deep breath and feel that breath go down the back of your throat into

your hips Whiting your hips nice and wide and feeling that breath continue to

move downward through your legs through your feet and into the earth and I want

you to bring forward your most confident self so where in your life do you feel

the most confident the most compassionate the most empathetic the

most nurturing the most loving the most forgiving maybe it's when

you're around your children or your grandchildren maybe it's when you're

around your fur babies maybe it's around your clients or your parents or somebody

that's less fortunate than you this energy of feeling confident and like

mama bear energy bring that mama bear energy forward

how would she stand what's her posture like where her her shoulders at does she

hold her head held high and step into that place now and then let's call forth

this part of yourself that feels like it's always gonna be a struggle it's

always gonna be hard it's always been hard so it's always gonna be hard this

part of yourself that feels completely hopeless to new possibility in the area

of where you feel deep struggle she's probably coming out from a dark corner

of the room her shoulders are rolled forward her head is down feeling

completely powerless and hopeless

like nothing good can come of this world of this situation

and I want you to bring these two parts of yourself together

see these two parts of yourself hold hands and look and look at this shutdown

scared fear-based maybe sad part of yourself and just ask her why why does

she feel like it always has to be so hard

and just be there to witness whatever she has to say

maybe if she's open to it you can pull her in a little closer and what does she

need to know right now what's the truth about that situation

what's the truth about this struggle

what does she need to hear right now

how does she need to be consoled

what kind of wisdom do you have to offer her

and let that truth feel so solid in your body the truth about shaking off the

struggle and stepping into ease

let the let that truth settle into your body and feel it move so wide and so

deep that it overtakes this part of yourself that doesn't believe and it

wraps her up in this truth so she can feel it so all of her fears are

overtaken by this love

and give her one final loving hug

That's about to go to slaughter, but I have to do this video because I just really want to come here to talk about

Self-care if I'm a German woman, you probably understand what I'm talking about as a Nigerian woman

I think African women who can relate to this. We're taught to take care of everybody else before taking care of ourselves. So

Everybody comes before us, you know kids,

boyfriend were raised as Africans as like you have that like it's almost like

Suffering is a badge of honor

Or you have to suffer to get happy to find happiness at the end of the day and I really don't believe in that

it's important to take care of yourself because I

Feel like when you really take care of yourself

And I don't mean by an expensive wigs or fashion and or whatever when you really take care of your body your mind your health

that's when you can perform at your

Optimum level and be the best for the people you love and the people who love you

So in this video, I'm just gonna be running through a few self-care tips

You know to live your best life

Especially when you live in the busy crazy stressful city like I do which is Lagos. It's maddening

So I feel you just need to sometimes just need to take some time to take care of yourself so you can

recenter and you can be

At your optimum, I feel that's what self-care is about taking care of yourself

Truly taking care of yourself. Not you keep doing things for yourself just because you want others to see that's when you know

I don't think that's taking care of yourself. No, I'm not an expert on this topic

I'm just talking as someone who is on this journey, so I'm learning as well

So I just want I just come here to share. So I'm interested in hearing about self-care tips that are beneficial

Especially when you live in a high-stress environment

Keep watching a really great self-care tip that I feel has helped me a lot is eating clean eating organic

So, you know foods with preservatives are not good for your system

We all know that I mean most of the healthcare problems that we're experiencing now in life are down to our food

I'm lucky that I live in a city where a lot of most of the food is organic

Anyway straight from the farm to the market to the grocery store to the table because of population growth and all that

We're beginning to see more chemicals in our food in our meat and it's affecting our health. There's more cases of cancer

dementia

So I feel eating clean. I'm not saying never eat junk food because listen I eat junk food

I love cake. I have a sweet tooth. I'm not saying

Totally cut it out of it like I mean if you can hey by all means it try as much as possible

To eat clean when you can't what you feed your body

It just emanates in every part of you and when you eat clean up you feel better even when you start eating clean

Your body just feels strong them obviously

There'll be the time where you have to eat fast food, but when you can't cook your meals at home meal prep, it's hard

I'm really struggling with that now with no purpose. It was an epic situation in Nigeria

Take time for yourself to quiet your mind. You know, we live in a time where there's just so much noise

there's

News on the TV a lot of news on TV is bad. There's stuff on the internet

More bad news, there's stuff on social media. It's cooling through social media and I seen stuff that I'm making you feel insecure

So sometimes you just need to step away from all that all the noise, you know

The stress the traffic family stress work stress school stress, so I'm just need to step away

Just quiet your mind. Some people meditate meditation is also a type of a way to quiet your mind

I've tried meditation, but I have not been

Consistent with it when I have meditated. I've used an app called headspace

Meditation is not just a city. It's not people think what my teacher is going to go home

completely think about nothing what meditation is more of just focusing on one thing and when your mind starts to

divert

Which it will it will divert because they are human you just bring it back to that one thing

You're thinking about prayer is another one. You know, Kriya is great

Meditation and prayer know what relaxes you we all know what relaxes us like for me

When I'm in my room sometimes I would dance nobody I'm just there by myself. Um for me I'm in the club

I'm at a party by myself. I'm just dancing like nobody can see me

Obviously nobody can I can't really dance like I want nobody's looking no what relaxes you it could be reading a book it could be

Dancing could be watching TV, but some people is writing in their journal keeping a gratitude list also

Really I find

helps as a way of

Self-care, even if you're having a bad day

And you take time to just be thankful for things. It just makes me more appreciative and it just makes me filled with

gratitude and joy and happiness

Pretty much so gratitude lists our great self-care tip pamper me time

Ladies and guys. Listen, I think you owe me time, you know just going for a manicure

Going for a spa treatment

Getting a pedicure whether you're a guy or girl whatever, you know

Just having that time that mean like see do you pamper yourself for me?

I will do mine every day at the end of each day. I've just recently gotten into this

It's a sense that Korean skincare right under the tents. There's a nobody got time for that. Oh, I do I think five steps

For me, it's just I look forward to it

because even if it doesn't say anything to my I just like that time where I just

It's the end of the day I take off my makeup

I wash my face I use my toner I use my essence I put on my

Mom I put on my cream

I like that time I just for me is just a little pamper session just like a five-minute session

So hello, and I do this every day I do this every night without fail

So have a little pamper me session. It doesn't have to be every day at least once a week

speaking of skin flora shade drink water that h2o that

h2o

Your skin will be glowing

What's that? It's great. Like I

Try to drink that ever bottle. I can't know how many liters it is

I think we're meant to drink 3 2.5 litres of water a day

Notice how I have a headache or migraine. It's opposed to me a lot. I'm

Dehydrated, all I need to do is drink water

And I'm fine for me water is just as important as you think clean and another one that I really love

This has helped me a lot

Exercise my goodness. I think I'm out

I didn't know what my fitness goals are I go to the gym because it makes me feel good if I just wanted a flatter

Stomach a bit of a woody just now I go to the gym because it makes me feel good

after workout no matter how

hard how difficult the workout is I

Feel good after I have my endorphins rushing usually when I workout in the morning. Ah,

That's big. I feel I can take on the world. I feel like superwoman I just feel like the listen I can slay dragons

Exercise you don't have to go to the gym. You don't have to be a fitness person some

simple as walking

Walk where you live in your s take 10 minutes 15 minutes

And don't just sit down and be stationary do some kind of exercise

Listen, it doesn't always have to be like, oh I'm wearing my fitness kids

I'm going to go on walks and we've gone through squats. I'm putting to the gym and need to lose 20 kilos

No, if it's a if it's a distance that you can walk

Walk instead of driving, you know exercise guys. Don't just be sitting down on your stationary

so to find those things that make you happy and do them as long as they're

Legal, they don't harm anyone

So if you're a sicko and you feed off of hurting people if that's what makes you happy you really need to seek some therapy

No judgement. So guys. Those are my self-care tips. These are just a few of the things I've worked for me
