Kate Middleton is set to make her next appearance when her son Prince Louis is christened next month, and tradition is likely to follow that of Charlotte and George

Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, has briefly stepped out of the public eye on maternity leave for a well-deserved break, but is returning for some occasions

last seen at Trooping the Colour, Kate won't fully return to the royal schedule for a couple of months yet

In the mean time, the country is readying for the next royal event, the christening of two-month-old Prince Louis

Prince Louis is to be officially christened on July 9 at The Chapel Royal, in St James' Place London

It is expected that, like the last two occasions, official photos of the Christening will be shared of the Cambridge family following the event

Official photos included the family, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the new godparents, and the Queen and Philip

Other photos showed the royal family leaving after the occasion, and the royal couple exiting the venue with their newly christened children

Prince Louis will be christened by Justin Welby, The Archbishop of Canterbury, the same person to have christened the last two royal children

The new Prince will be christened at the same place as his brother Prince George, but not sister Charlotte who was christened at Sandringham chapel

Who will Prince Louis' godparents be? Prince Louis' godparents are as of yet unconfirmed, and there is constant speculation over who will receive the honour

So far, odds are pointing to former soon-to-be former private secretary Miguel Head and childhood nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke as the favourites

Miguel Head is up front with odds of 2/1, while there's also a 3/1 chance Kate calls upon private secretary Rebecca Priestley

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "As with George and Charlotte, the Duke and Duchess chose close and trusted friends and aides, rather than immediate family members, and the odds suggest that will be the same with little Prince Louis

"   Who are Miguel Head and Tiggy Legge-Bourke? Miguel Head has been part of the royal household for more than 10 years as Prince William's private secretary

The role of private secretary to the Duke is the most senior appointment in the Cambridge household, but Kensington Palace announced Mr Head would be leaving his role to be replaced by civil servant Simon Case

Tiggy Legge-Bourke was hired as personal assistant to Prince Charles and nanny to Princes William and Harry

On Prince Charles and Diana's separation, the Prince of Wales hired Tiggy as nanny to their two sons, and played an important comforting role following Diana's death

Education - Duration: 2:07.

One of the main objectives of zoos such as Loro Parque,

in addition to conservation, is education.

At Loro Parque, we have a wide range of possibilities that allow us to create

emotional bonds between visitors and animals.

This gives us the opportunity to talk about them, explain their threats in nature and

be able to involve the public in their conservation.

During presentations with animals, taking advantage of the time

when we have the most attention from the public,

we try to transmit information that helps, not only to get to know better

the animals and their threats, but also to learn to respect them and protect them.

Furthermore, you can find signs and visual materials

showing information about the species all around the park.

We carry out different activities with schools, such as workshops and educational visits,

to teach students various aspects of animal biology in a fun way.

Our commitment with education goes beyond our facilities.

Through an innovative videoconference system we bring the natural world closer to schools worldwide.

We also develop interesting school projects about

biodiversity, its threats and conservation.

Although it is not an easy task, we believe strongly in the educational value of zoos and,

therefore, every day we strive to generate a positive impact on people

that translates, we hope, into greater protection of animals and their habitats.

At The Education Department, Student Artworks Explore Tolerance And Racism - Duration: 13:07.

And for the past two months, an exhibit at the U.S.

Department of Education's headquarters in Washington, D.C., has gathered the work of student artists expressing themselves — through their work — about these issues.

The exhibit is called "Total Tolerance," and it highlights themes of racism, sexism and diversity.

The student art comes from the National YoungArts Foundation, a Miami-based nonprofit that offers mentoring and fellowships to art students from around the country.

Its proposal was selected late last year by the Department and the dozens of works of art went on display in May.

"This exhibition, it really exemplifies why we do this work," says Carolina Garcia Jayaram, the foundation's president and CEO.

"Together, with the Department of Education, we can signal to the country that arts education is a necessary facet of education for all students.".

Ameya Okamoto, 18, just graduated from high school in Portland, Ore., and will attend Tufts University this fall.

Juniel Solis, 16, lives in Miami and will be attending a pre-college at the School of Visual Arts in New York this summer.

And Aidan Forster, 17, just graduated from high school in Greenville, S.C., and will be attending Brown University next fall.

Our conversations have been edited for length and clarity.

Aidan Forster: My poem, Instructions for Suburban Boy Love, was inspired by the particular brand of queer isolation and loneliness endemic to suburban life in the South.

It stems from questions of loneliness and isolation: What happens when you're the only queer kid in your neighborhood? Or in your family? Or in your youth group or your circle of friends? When you start to feel kind of like a threatened or endangered species?.

Excerpt From: Instructions For Suburban Boy Love by Aidan Forster Wax.

Never use Nair.

Pull blackheads from your pores with a metal extractor.

Ask the nice lady at Great Clips to give you a hard part, a deep white line of skin.

Find men suspicious with too much or too little hair.

Don't get a tattoo for love.

Ink a moon onto your left hipbone, the symbol for Mars onto your right.

Don't text twice in a row unless he hasn't responded in more than a day.

I think for me, queerness is very much like an aperture for language — a mode of filtration for experience.

Ameya Okamoto: So I have a couple digitally painted portraits in "Total Tolerance" that are a part of my memorial portrait series, which is ever evolving.

The portraits are about celebration of the lives that have been lost to police violence, but also about overturning negative imagery.

One piece is of a boy named Quanice who was 17 years old when he was shot and killed in my hometown of Portland.

At the time Quanice was 17, and I was also 17, and so having someone who is only a couple train stops away killed, that was extremely jarring to me.

I had to do something, so I created a portrait using photos, and that piece became so important because it started being circulated in the media, and it started to replace an old mug shot from a couple years back.

I was able to meet with Quanice's family and give them a print, and that was an extremely moving moment where I realized I could give them a gift of celebration, and in some way help to heal.

And I could also use my art to create a positive message and create a more positive narrative.

Juniel Solis: I have a painting up called Los Pajaritos.

It's a painting of two young adults with makeup and they have a very androgynous feel.

They're wearing orange flowers on their dresses.

They're men and they're wearing makeup.

They are there and you can tell there's a fear in their eyes.

What has art done for you?.

Forster: Well for me, growing up in a very conservative state, in a conservative region, I really struggled with internalized shame around sexuality.

I grappled with the idea that my body and desires are wrong or alien or that I wasn't made for love or love wasn't made for me.

And as I grew older and searched for a strain of representation, or some sort of narrative that matched mine, I found poetry.

I just realized that poetry presented itself as an antidote to that shame I felt, and allowed me to dismantle it and externalize it.

Okamoto: When people ask me, "Why do you make art?" I say, for me it's very reactionary in my gut level.

This is what I have to do.

I make art to help others.

I think art in general is how we are going to translate experiences, and share stories, and talk to people across cultures, and across language and across political values or any sort of ideation in general.

We can talk to people through color, and stories and visuals, instead of having them sit down and have a really hard conversation.

I think a lot of times people discredit minors who talk about real issues and talk about institutional change and talk about social change.

So what can I do? I can do grassroots organizing and I can be a part of changing the narrative for people who can vote for people who can make policy change, because at the end of the day it's all in themselves.

What sort of responses have you gotten from your work?.

Forster: I went to a public, residential arts high school in South Carolina, so I was constantly surrounded by a microcosm of artistic support and development.

My friends were always there for each other's work.

My parents have always been really supportive of my sexuality — in writing and off the page.

But my extended family — I don't really talk about my work with them.

I'm so humbled to be selected for this.

My entire trajectory with YoungArts has just been one humbling sort of blessing after another.

There's been sort of a resounding recognition, I think, with the sort of bravado of the piece.

Okamoto: My family and friends are usually very supportive, but there are a lot of people who say I'm too young to know anything.

With the critics, I kind of ignore it, because if my art touched them in some way, or they felt like they had to respond in some way, then I think at a certain level my art is doing exactly what I want it to do — which is reach out to the people and talk to the people who don't want to listen.

High school is good practice to realizing that there are adult haters out there who are going to come after 16-year-olds.

What do you hope comes of your work being on display at the Department of Education?.

Forster: I think my biggest hope for this is sort of twofold.

In the first part is that I envision the show as a sort of promontory for the legitimization and authentication of minority and marginalized narratives written by youth.

And so I think this exhibition is proving that some of the most potent and primal narratives at play in artistic planes right now are coming from young people and are coming from these like marginalized voices and voices that have historically been occulted.

Okamoto: I think it's amazing to have an exhibit in the U.S.

Department of Education that preaches the exact rhetoric that I want to preach, which is equity, inclusion and total tolerance.

I hope people see my work and realize they, too, can make work about the things they care about.

It doesn't have to be political.

And I hope it changes the negative stereotype of the [Black Lives Matter] movement.

What do you think the state of arts education is like today in the U.

Okamoto: They're cutting our classes.

They're cutting our art in general across mediums in places for — you know, quote unquote academic classes.

And for me, I think that everyone has the capacity to create.

There's a lot of very cool technologies

at a conference like Digital Future of Insurance.

But in order for those technologies to be effective,

they've got to have the proper infrastructure behind them.

There's been a lot of innovation in our space

that has forced us to change the way that we

operate as a business.

So we feel like we can offer a lot of guidance here.

I think it'll be very exciting to see how our 5G

technology impacts the insurance industry,

I think with drone technology and more access to data.

The "aha" moment for me, the shareable economy

and how the millennials are really

changing the way insurance companies package

their products and services, modernizing their core systems

to really be able to react and respond.

We know that change is difficult,

especially in an industry with so much regulation,

with so much red tape.

But the amount of enthusiasm at these meetings, the amount

of questions people were asking make you

really excited for the future.

Digital ad agency Droga5 looks to get out of WME deal - Duration: 2:13.

Creative agency Droga5 is looking for a new dance partner, The Post has learned

The New York digital ad agency, which sold 49 percent of itself to WME in 2013, has grown unhappy with the marriage and is looking for suitors to buy out the talent agency, sources familiar with the situation said

"It's not working out," one source said.  Although there's no word on where Droga5 is looking, sources have pointed to Accenture, the global consulting giant, which has been on a buying spree

A spokesman for Droga5 denied that the company is unhappy with WME or is looking for an investor

The boutique agency, which has been called one of the better small creative shops in the business, has worked with blue-chip clients such as Google, Chase and Under Armour

One recent campaign, for IHOP — where the pancake shop teased a name change to IHOb — drew mixed reviews

Droga5 has also felt the pain of cutbacks.  In February, the company slashed 5 percent of its payroll — or about 40 jobs, the first cuts in its 12-year history

The cuts were a bit steeper than the norm for the ad industry, sources said.

Hey, guys, Professor Bill of Comic Book University and I'm going to explain 10 Things about Snowguard in about a minute.

1.) Snowguard's first appearance was in "Champions vol 2 #19" in June 2018 and she was created by Jim Zub, Sean Izaakse, and Nyla Innuksuk.

2.) Amka Aliyak is a native of Pangnirtung, in the Northern Territories of Nunavut, Canada.

3.) She is a sixteen-year-old Innuit who was raised on the old traditions but never believed them.

4.) When noted Alpha Flight enemy "Master of the World" came to her homeland and built an illegal compound, he entrapped Silap Inua, or Silla, the "high spirit" of the Inuit.

5.) Amka went to investigate the compound and discovered that "The Master" was using Silla as a power source to operate his compound.

6.) Amka saved Silla, nearly killing herself in the process but, finally believing in the Northern spirits, Silla returned the favor by saving her life, grafting a bit of her spirit onto Amka's soul.

7.) Now Amka has the power to take on multiple animal forms, both real and mythological, and she can combine these forms to become an amalgam hybrid.

8.) She can increase her strength, durability, stamina, and speed by taking on certain animal traits and, with the proper form, can fly, swim, or breath water.

9.) She also possesses other magical abilities that she's learning to control.

10.) She joined "The Champions" to be with like-minded people her own age who are all learning to be a force for positive change.

And that's 10 Things about Snowguard in about a minute.

Carleton University Library: Quick orientation to our website - Duration: 6:19.

Welcome to the Carleton University Library website.

In this short video, we will introduce you to the website and two tools to help you find

sources for your assignments, projects and other forms of research.

First we will introduce you to Summon.

This search tool helps you find a range of sources such as books, journal articles, newspaper

articles and government documents Second, we will introduce you to subject guides.

Library subject specialists and librarians create these guides to make it easy for you

to find discipline-specific sources.

Let's get started.

Here we are on the library home page at www.library.carleton.ca.

Summon is our main search tool.

You can enter your search terms in this basic field on the home page.

You can also click on Advanced search.

In Advanced search view, you have more search fields and options for filtering before you

search.

For example, you can filter by publication date, by discipline, by language and by scholarly

materials.

Let's try a search.

Let's say you're looking for materials on climate change.

Put this phrase in the first search field.

Use quotation marks to limit your results to only those that include this phrase.

Then filter by publication date (let's say you want anything published after 2008).

Filter by discipline (and choose environmental sciences).

Finally, filter by scholarly materials.

Now scroll down the page and click on the Search box in the bottom left-hand corner

of the page.

We got quite a few results and now we can use the left-hand navigation to filter or

narrow our search to just journal articles.

Under content type, we will click on Journal article.

Summon has many more features, and you can find out more about using the tool by visiting

the Research Help Desk on the main floor of the library.

Now, let's return to the home page by clicking on library in the top left-hand corner of

the page.

You find a lot of information about library services on the home page such as how to access

the online chat reference service and how to get help with your research from librarians

and subject specialists.

Go to Research on the top navigation and scroll down to Research Help.

Scroll down the page and you will find an alphabetical list of all the subject specialists

and librarians available to help you.

Now let's go back to the home page by clicking on MacOdrum Library in the top left-hand corner

of the page.

Librarians and subject specialists also create special website for each discipline.

These websites are called subject guides.

The link to the guides is found under the Research column in the middle of the home

page.

All the guides are listed alphabetically and usually you'll find a quick guide as well

as a detailed guide for each program.

Let's try finding the guides for Canadian Studies.

First, we will click on Subject guides in the Research column.

, then use the alphabet at the top and click on the letter C. Then we will scroll down

the page to the guides for Canadian Studies.

Click on the link for the Canadian Studies quick guide.

Here you will find a list of the top five databases for that discipline.

These databases have been chosen by the librarian responsible for this discipline.

Now, go back to the full list and click on the link to the Canadian Studies detailed

guide.

This detailed guide provides more resources to help you find a variety of information

you might need for a project in a Canadian Studies course.

Now, let's go back to the home page by clicking on MacOdrum Library in the top left-hand corner

of the page.

So, the library website is the place to find appropriate sources for your assignments.

Remember, you can use Summon (either the basic or advanced search), you can contact a librarian

or subject specialist in a given area and you can use the customized subject guides.

For more information, please visit the Research Help Desk on the main floor of the library.

This is the end of this video.

Without mentioning the names of former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, who Cuomo's been close to, the Governor said the party "got disconnected" from the middle class. We're doing some construction right now, and it gets really noisy at times.

As a result, I had to use a background noise remover to get rid of as much stuff as I can.

I would have made the whole thing mute, but no one wants to watch that.

Besides, you have to love the sound of breaking wax and opening cards. :)

That is a Jason Kipnis ball in the background, by the way. Hoping he can bounce back!

Also, ignore my baby hands. I'm 22, but my hands look like they're a year old.

Just want to make the display look like something you'd see in a hobby shop. :)

I really like this product for the special photography they use. It's just downright beautiful.

Who doesn't love that sound?

Starlin Castro got a bad deal, didn't he?

Miguel Cabrera red parallel... sure.

Bryce Harper Power Zone insert!

You can tell this is where the auto's supposed to go.

Would be the perfect card to get an autograph from, whether from the box or IP.

Luis Severino!!

I can assure you this sounds a lot better in person.

Lol skinny Mark McGwire

Noah Syndergaard looks like an angel here.

Or Thor... Yeah, probably Thor.

Rhys Hoskins RC Dream Team insert!

You can tell an auto would go there, too. Not complaining, though!

Ozzie Albies looking like the stud he is.

I had Buxton on my fantasy team. Man, did he suck.

Corey Seager red parallel!

Just checking to see the card thickness here.

This card might have some worth if Freeman gets NL MVP.

Mike Trout Special Forces insert!

Another beautiful Mets card with great hair! Sad deGrom won't be a Met for long...

For a hot second, I thought this was Randy Johnson on the Brewers for some reason lmao

Aaron Judge Never Compromise insert!!!

Wow... this Mo card is gorgeous...

Here, take a closer look.

And another beautifully framed Yankees card!

Forgot that Rickey Henderson was on the Yankees lol

There's nothing better in baseball than a happy C.C.

Man, Archer's looking ripped in this pic...

Clayton Kershaw Special Forces Insert!

Beautiful Brian Dozier card... See why I like this product so much?

Rhys Hoskins RC Never Compromise Insert!

Harrison Bader laying out lol

Man, Hideki Matsui... What a flashback.

Aww, he's happy for doing something good. :)

Dustin Fowler red parallel!

Possibly one of the best pictures in this product, to be honest.

Needed to mute this part because someone that doesn't like being recorded was talking.

Jackie Robinson black parallel!

Pack opening troubles... :\

Oh, by the way, here's the odds! In case you want to pause and see them.

Victor Caratini RC red parallel!

Yonder Alonso on the Indians... That was a quick turnaround.

Jack Flaherty black parallel!

A beautiful Ian Happ card

Ichiro!!!!!!!

Still looking for our first auto...

Was worried I'd get ripped off with autos here lol

Barry Larkin red parallel!

And an Alex Wood auto! May he rest in peace lol

Mike Trout thinking about how good he's look in a Phillies uniform lmao

That sound never gets old.

J.T. Realmuto with the hops

Kris Bryant Power Zone insert! Wishing for an auto on the right lol

Greg Bird red parallel!

Let's see the second auto...

Max Fried RC auto!

Don't care

So I didn't realize it, but I missed a chrome Kris Bryant in this break lol

Auto recap (more of them talking and me muting, sorry...)

Parallel recap

Insert recap (minus that chrome Bryant lol)

Thanks for watching!!

Comcast recovers from outage of video, broadband services across parts of U.S.Comcast, the nation's largest broadband provider and one of the largest pay-TV providers, had a nationwide outage of some services Friday

The Philadelphia-based company said it was aware Friday afternoon some of its TV, broadband and telephone customers across the U

S.were affected. The apparent cause? A pair of cuts in vital fiber at its network partners

"We identified two, separate and unrelated fiber cuts to our network backbone providers," Comcast said in a statement provided to USA TODAY just before 5 p

m.ET."Our engineers worked to address the issue immediately and services are now being restored to business and residential internet, video and voice customers

We again apologize to anyone who was impacted."Initially, Comcast had said a single "fiber cut" had been affecting its customers, as well as other providers

Customers in Philadelpha, Baltimore and elsewhere on the east coast reported outages of Internet and video service on Twitter and on Internet monitoring site Downdetector

com, where outage reports began arriving just after 12:30 p.m.ET.Other reports of outages from Comcast customers were from Seattle, San Francisco and Atlanta, according to Downdetector

com.CNBC, a network within Comcast-owned NBC Universal, first reported the outage

Comcast is one of the nation's largest pay-TV providers with more than 22 million subscribers, and the largest broadband provider with more than 26 million subscribers, according to Leichtman Research Group

The company also provides broadband and video to more than 2 million businesses.San Francisco-based Network monitoring and intelligence firm ThousandEyes began seeing network issues across the Net beginning about 12:15 p

m.ET.By about 4:30 p.m.ET, network issues were appearing to be resolved, the firm said

Many internet users beyond Comcast's own 25 million subscriber base were affected, too, according to ThousandEyes

That's because other traffic travels across the provider's network, because it serves as part of the backbone connecting various regions of the nation

"This is a really good illustration of how interconnected a lot of these networks are," said Angelique Medina, senior product marketing manager at ThousandEyes

"It is kind of like a domino effect.Any one provider can potentially have a big impact on a number of users," she said

"In this case, because it was Comcast, the blast radius was just massive."Follow USA TODAY reporter Mike Snider on Twitter: @MikeSnider

said Friday that the hours-long interruption of its internet, video and voice services, was caused two separate and unrelated fiber cuts to the company's large network providers

The company is working to restore services."We identified two, separate and unrelated fiber cuts to our network backbone providers

Our engineers worked to address the issue immediately and services are now being restored to business and residential internet, video and voice customers

We again apologize to anyone who was impacted.".The company did not specify which providers were impacted

A source told CNBC that one of the cuts occurred in CenturyLink's network.CenturyLink said its network is operating normally, but said there were fiber cuts in its network Friday

"While the CenturyLink network continues to operate normally, on June 29, we experienced two isolated fiber cuts in North Carolina affecting some customers that by themselves did not cause the issues experienced by other providers

At this time, our technicians are working to restore the services," the company said in a statement

Comcast reported last quarter it serves 29.6 million total business and residential customers

It is the second largest U.S. pay TV provider, behind AT&T, since its DirecTV acquisition,

FRIDAY'S MASSIVE COMCAST OUTAGE SHOWS HOW FRAGILE THE INTERNET IS.WIDESPREAD INTERNET OUTAGES around the United States on Friday afternoon quelled productivity and sent irate customers to Twitter to complain

Comcast and Xfinity suffered the biggest service interruptions across its internet, cable, and landline products

The company, which has more than 29 million business and individual customers, said on Friday that the outages stemmed from fiber optic cables at two internet infrastructure companies that were cut or otherwise disrupted

Like virtually all internet providers, Comcast relies on a combination of its own fiber optic infrastructure and that of other partner companies to seamlessly route data around the world

"We identified two, separate and unrelated fiber cuts to our network backbone providers," Comcast said in a statement to WIRED

"Our engineers worked to address the issue immediately and services are now being restored to business and residential internet, video and voice customers

".Comcast says the two internet infrastructure companies involved are Level 3 (now owned by CenturyLink) and Zayo, a fiber company headquartered in Colorado

Throughout the afternoon, the outage-tracking site Down Detector showed service interruptions at CenturyLink, Zayo, and Comcast, but the latter suffered the most severe consequences

"While the CenturyLink network continues to operate normally, on June 29 we experienced two isolated fiber cuts in North Carolina affecting some customers," CenturyLink said in a statement

"At this time, our technicians are working to restore the services.".CenturyLink noted that its two fiber cuts would not have been enough on their own to cause the outage, indicating that another also occurred, as Comcast said

"Earlier today, Zayo experienced a fiber cut in the New York area," said a Zayo spokesperson in a statement

"We immediately dispatched our local team who quickly restored the cut. All impacted services in the area have been restored

".Fiber cuts aren't necessarily malicious, and can happen as the result of incidents like severe weather or construction mistakes

They're also not terribly uncommon; when they do happen, the internet infrastructure community works to implement redundancies and traffic rerouting tactics so physical disruptions don't cause digital ones

In this case, the combination of disruptions in New York and North Carolina were enough to turn off the internet for millions of people

The underlying physical backbone of the internet is surprisingly fragile, and failsafes don't always work

For example, in November, a tiny misconfiguration error at Level 3 caused outages around the US

And a digital attack on the internet infrastructure company Dyn famously caused major outages in 2016 because they were targeted at destabilizing one of the internet's underlying routing protocols

"We are profoundly and globally dependent on a fundamentally fragile infrastructure," says Roland Dobbins, a principal engineer at the DDoS and network-security firm Arbor Networks, which monitors global internet operations

"Some redundancies exist, but many times they don't.".By Friday evening, Comcast service had come back for many customers

But the underlying message should resonate: The internet can be more frail than you'd think, and sometimes all it takes to shut it down is a couple of cuts

Comcast had said a single "fiber cut" had been affecting its customers, as well as other providers

All Hands and Hearts - BVI Youth Employment Services - Duration: 2:45.

My name is Rochelle Lawrence, I'm the Youth Employment Services Coordinator

within the Minister of Education. The Youth Employment Service is a program

that is geared towards persons between the ages of 18 and 29 years old BVI-landers

to find them work experience and meaningful employment.

My name is Ryan Ramirez, my friends call me "Grim."

I'm 19 years old, I'm from the BVI, currently living on Tortola.

I got linked up with All Hands and Hearts through the Department of Education

under the Youth Employment Services.

Some of the benefits I think Ryan has gained from teaming up with All Hands and Hearts are

his ability to communicate. He's learned new skills working with carpenters, working with masons, working

with roof repair. He's understanding the fundamentals of all these different

aspects and all these skills and being paired with more knowledgeable persons

persons that have been doing this for quite a long time. It also expands his

knowledge and coming from a small island like the BVI, the ability to meet new

people has also been quite a huge impact on persons in my program especially.

Because a lot of times we work with just our local businesses and entrepreneurs,

and don't get the chance to go out and explore different people that are from

different places and share all this information- just to communicate with

someone that may be from London, that may be from Germany, and that may be from

Italy, it's those little experiences that people like Ryan are gonna remember

years from today, that will continue to make an impact in their life.

As an organization, All Hands and Hearts is one of the best I've been with so far in terms of

actually learning, helping, and enjoying work and teamwork.

I think one of the most beneficial impacts that All Hands and Hearts has had on our program is the

ability to nurture, teach, and invest in our locals. Long after All Hands and Hearts

have left us, these skills that they have invested and implemented will

stay on our shores and be used in the future to come- hopefully for no more

disasters, but to rebuild our BVI and create a stronger pool of skilled workers.

I'll say that All Hands and Hearts is family to me, so... that's all I could really say.

Top 10 Best Places To Visit In Japan │ Tourists Attractions In Japan │ Japan Visiting Places - Duration: 10:28.

Top 10 Best Places to Visit in Japan.

Japan is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean with dense cities, imperial palaces, mountainous

national parks and thousands of shrines and temples.

Shinkansen bullet trains connect the main islands of Kyushu, Honshu and Hokkaido.

Tokyo, the capital, is known for skyscrapers, shopping and pop culture.

Japan is somewhere I think everyone should visit.

From futuristic skyscrapers to tranquil bamboo forests and neon arcades to serene temples,

its like nowhere else on the planet.

The food is incredible, the people are ultra polite and it has one of the most efficient

public transport systems in the world.

We love the combination of ease of travel and glorious bewilderment.

These are our picks for the absolute best places to visit in Japan, perfect for your

first or second trip to the country.

In this video we are talking about top 10 places to visit in Japan.

So please click the subscribe batton and press the bell icon for more videos.

Number 10.

Hiroshima.

On the 6th August 1945, Little Boy exploded directly above the Hiroshima Prefectural Commercial

Exhibition Hall instantly killing everyone inside.

The crumbling skeleton of the building stands as a haunting monument to the tens of thousands

that died immediately and in the decades that followed.

Wandering through the Peace Memorial Park, its easy to feel impotence at the lack

of power one has to put a stop to the tireless stupidity of prejudice and hatred on both

sides of any dispute, whether or not it leads to such devastation.

Unfortunately, these feelings seem to permeate so many of us as human beings to the point

where they are too easily invoked to gain political capital throughout the world.

The only real temperance is education.

We each have a duty to learn from the mistakes of the previous generation; to sidestep the

reptilian instincts and to have the courage to live up to the better nature that exists

in all of us as a virtue of simply being people.

Number 9.

Nara.

Nara was Japans first permanent capital and is full of historic treasures including

many UNESCO world heritage sites.

Its one of the top Japan attractions and makes a rewarding day trip from Kyoto to visit

the temples and wild deer in Nara Park.

The Daibutsu-den (Hall of the Great Buddha) at Todaiji is the main sightits the

largest wooden building in the world and nothing prepares you for the immense sight.

Inside is the 15-metre tall gold and bronze statue of Buddha that dates back to 751.

Number 8.

Tsumago.

Tsumago is a picture-perfect traditional mountain village in the Kiso Valley.

It is one of the best-preserved post towns in Japan and you feel like youve stepped

back in time on the traffic-less streets of beautifully restored wooden inns.

During the Edo period 300 years ago, Tsumago was a stop on the Nakasendo Way between Kyoto

and Edo (now Tokyo).

You can hike part of this trail to the village of Magome in about two hours.

Unfortunately, a typhoon prevented us doing this, but its supposed to be a scenic and

easy walk.

Number 7.

Koya-San.

Koya-san (Mount Koya) is one of the most interesting places in Japan to experience the traditional

side of the country.

This secluded and sacred temple town is located in the forest-covered mountains of Kansai

and is one of the best places to get a taste of life as a monk by staying in a shukubo

or temple lodging.

After wandering around the otherworldly Okunoin forest cemetery, we checked into our simple

tatami room at the temple, soaked in the communal onsen bath, and enjoyed a delicious shojin

ryori vegetarian Buddhist meal.

In the morning we were up early for the chanting and meditation ceremony with the monks.

A temple stay at Koya-san is a fascinating experience and well worth the detour from

Osaka or Kyoto.

Number 6.

Nikko.

Nikko is a temple town and UNESCO world heritage site in the mountains a few hours north of

Tokyo and makes a cool retreat from the city.

The temples and shrines with their vermillion gates and moss-covered stone lanterns are

scattered on the wooded hillside.

The main attraction is Toshogu Shrine, a stunning complex with more than a dozen lavishly decorated

red and gold buildings amongst huge, ancient cedar trees.

The crowds can be overwhelming, so afterwards head to one of the quieter shrines.

You could visit Nikko as a day trip from Tokyo, but its worth spending a night or two to

explore one of the most beautiful places in Japan including hiking trails, lakes, waterfalls,

and hot springs.

The area is famous for its vibrant autumn colors.

Number 5.

Kanazawa.

Kanazawa is one of the best cities to visit in Japan, but few foreign tourists make it

here.

As Kyoto grows in popularity consider turning to Kanazawa instead for a quieter place to

experience geisha districts with preserved wooden buildings.

There is also one of the most beautiful gardens in the country, a stunning castle, and many

art museums to explore.

In Kanazawa dont miss, Wandering Kenroku-en Garden, one of the top three gardens in Japan,

Exploring the wooden teahouses of the geisha districts Higashi Chaya and the quieter Kazuemachi

and Nishi Chaya, Experiencing a traditional tea ceremony at the exquisite Gyokusen-en

Gardens.

Number 4.

Hakone.

Mount Fuji is on most peoples lists of places to visit in Japan, but this must-see

Japan landmark can be rather elusive and is often hidden by clouds.

There are a number of places you can see the mountain from, but we decided on Hakone because

its easy to reach from Tokyo and there are lots of other things to do in the area

in case we were out of luck with our sighting.

Despite visiting on a cloudy, drizzly day we were lucky that Mount Fuji emerged from

the clouds above Lake Ashi and it was magical!

Hakone is also fun to visit because you can do a loop of the sights on different modes

of transporttrain, bus, pirate boat and cable car.

In Hakone dont miss, Buying a Hakone Free Pass so you can hop on and off all the transport

options on the Hakone Loop.

Seeing Mount Fuji from the lake or cable car, Eating a black egg cooked in the hot sulphur

springs at volcanic Owakudani not really, these look gross, but the Japanese go crazy

for them, Soaking in an onsen Staying in a tatami room in a ryokan and enjoying an elaborate

dinner, Wandering the outdoor sculpture gallery at Hakone Open Air Museum.

Number 3.

Takayama.

Takayama is an utterly gorgeous small town on the edge of the Japan Alps and one of the

best less-visited places to go in Japan.

I loved wandering the historic centre full of traditional wooden houses, colorful shrines,

neatly shaped trees, and bright red bridges over the river.

Theres lots to do in the surrounding countryside and we could easily have spent longer than

the two nights we had here.

In Takayama dont miss, Wandering the old town in the early morning before the crowds

arrive, Buying delicious fruit from the morning markets, Snacking on mitarashi-dango from

a street stall, Seeing the extravagant floats at the Festival Floats Exhibition Hall, Visiting

the Hida Folk Village to see traditional thatched houses, Cycling through the countryside with

Satoyama Experience.

Number 2.

Tokyo.

If Kyoto is the heart of traditional Japan, Tokyo is its ultramodern counterpart.

Its here youll find the skyscrapers, noisy arcades, busy pedestrian crossings,

crazy youth fashions, and many incredibly delicious restaurants.

If all you do in Tokyo is eating, youll have an amazing timeeven as vegetarians

we ate so well.

Tokyo is also home to some of the weirdest activities weve ever done.

From themed cafes to sensory-overload shows and arcades to cos-play go-karting.

In Tokyo dont miss, Dressing up as a Mario character and driving a go-kart on the real

roads.

Eating in a tiny restaurant on atmospheric Memory Lane, Gazing at the night skyline from

the free Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku, Walking across the famous Shibuya

Crossing, Gawping at the crazy fashions of Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Visiting the

brilliant Disney Sea!

Getting sensory overload at the bizarre Robot Restaurant show.

Number 1.

Kyoto.

If you only have time for one Japan destination, make it Kyoto.

This is traditional Japan as you imagined itgeisha in brightly colored kimonos emerging

from wooden teahouses, forests of bamboo, temples and shrines in gold and silver and

scarlet, raked gravel Zen gardens, intricate feasts served on lacquered plates, graceful

tea ceremonies, and markets full of intriguing but unidentifiable ingredients.

The concrete high-rises of downtown Kyoto can be disappointing, so head out towards

the mountains to the surrounding neighborhoods where youll find narrow stone streets,

old wooden houses, monks in flowing robes, and the sounds of chanting and gongs from

the many temples and shrines.

Gion is the place to spot geisha, Higashiyama has many beautiful temples to explore, and

Arashiyama, up in the western hills, is one of the most traditional neighborhoods and

home to bamboo groves, quirky temples and monkeys.

Kyoto is one of the top Japan tourist spots, so try to visit the popular temples early

in the morning as they do get crowded.

Taking the train to the village of Kibune and walking across the valley to the beautiful

Kurama-dera temple, Retreating from the busy streets of Gion to the magical Yasaka-jinja

at night, Experiencing Zen Buddhist cuisine at the Tenryu-ji temple, Getting off the beaten

track at the quirky Otagi Nenbutsuji temple.

Japanese Vending Machine Restaurant! EAT IT ALL! A day at the VENDING MACHINE DINER in Japan - Duration: 17:20.

I will push it now.

Is it there? Oh yes they got it.

Cheese!!!

Hello everyone...

I am Ask Japanese's Cathy Cat.

Do you know how convenient Japan is?

Convenience stores are open 24/7, the trains are on time.

And there is an un-rivaled number of vending machines.

So today we will go on a place that is featuring vending machines.

Let's go.

In Tokyo there seems to be a vending machine around every second corner.

I love going round them and finding new drinks and crazy themed drinks.

Today I went to Gunma prefecture a few hours away from busy Tokyo

to find a unique vending machine restaurant

called "The vending machine diner".

Wow there are really strange vending machines here...

I have seen them for the first time.

The vending machines are super retro.

Some have been in use for about 30 years.

Now, those machines do not sell drinks, they mainly sell hot food.

So today my challenge will be to go and try all their items on the menu.

What type of place is this?

We have retro vending machines here.

This gives kids nowadays a chance to experience them, even if they don't know the old vending machines.

What I find rare is that it's food and not drinks.

It is. Nowadays it's hard to find food vending machines.

When were these food machines popular?

Around the 1980s. During that time there weren't any 24hr convenience stores.

If you wanted to sell something 24hrs, it had to be in vending machines.

So the old vending machines were like the convenience stores of nowadays.

That's right.

Mr Tomaru actually thinks of new food items.

So they always have a variety of new and fresh items in the machines.

Also my tip you can't use bills here so break them down into coins first.

Alright, let's get us something tasty.

Let's get udon first!

Let's get some tempura udon out of the machine.

It started making noises.

4...3...2...1...

Do they get done this quickly?

It made a clicking sound. Wow that's so fast.

Let's look.

It's steaming hot.

Wow. It doesn't look that different from udon in restaurants.

Let's try it.

This is so good.

It's so hot.

The tempura is soft now but looks good.

The vegetables inside still have a bite to it. Nice.

This one doesn't seem to have any toppings.

I can only need ramen noodles.

Or is it there? It's here!

There is sliced pork meat.

There are some bean sprouts.

Wait there is more. Two slices of meat.

Looking good looking good.

Let's try the meat with the noodles...

This looks tasty.

This is so good. The meat is super juicy.

I often get instant noodles but this is totally different.

The noodles are fresh and the meat is juicy. This looks tasty.

It has a rich soy sauce flavor.

I prefer this to convenience stores ramen noodles.

It's so cold in here... - It's a fridge.

How does this get so hot in such a short time?

This is a spiral staircase, and the first one comes out like this.

Then hot water and soy sauce flavor pour into it.

That's how it gets so hot. The hot water is 90 degrees hot.

Toasted sandwich vending machine.

There are two flavors. Ham and Cheeeeddaaaar Cheese.

That's funny. They also have a taster menu.

Grated garlic mayonnaise plus sliced garlic.

There is some ham inside, it says.

There are also other things. See, they have cute pictures drawn all over.

"It's hot so there are tongs" it says.

N"It's super hot so please use the tongs, ok?" and here it says "munch munch"

"Be sure to do it!"

"Don't burn yourself!"

Frog: "What the heck! This is friggin hot!"

And since it's so hot there are some mittens too.

There is also a designated tray here.

If I use this right, I should be able to eat some tasty toast.

Let's first try the Ham and Cheeeeddar Cheeese toast.

One two. Let's push this.

It says "Toasting" in Japanese here.

Since it's burning hot, let's use the tongs like they said.

Alright then...

Wow this IS hot.

Let's get it out.

It smells of tasty toasty toast. Smells tasty.

Let's have a look inside.

Outside there is ham, inside there is Cheddaaaar Cheese. The stretchy kind.

Let's dig in.

I like that it has a crunch outside.

Inside it's gooey.

This is super good.

Grated garlic mayonnaise , sliced garlic and there is some ham wedged inside.

and apparently it has "crazy salt" inside...?

Crazy Salt people!

Let's use the cute mittens.

So hot.

Let's put it over here. Blep.

Let's try out their taster menu.

I like the smell of garlic and toasty bread...

It's rich in garlic flavor, but I can take it. It tastes really good.

I tried your taster menu. It was really nice.

There was a lot of garlic inside. - Yes I tried doing that.

Sorry for my garlic breath. *breathy voice* SO MUCH GAAARLICCC.

I am ok.

Do you do these taster sets a lot?

Yes I do. I design food variations that I am interested in.

And then I ask the customers how they like it.

Before I had variations like sweet bean paste and cheese and such.

That's totally different. Sweet beans and cheese?!

What did your customers say to that?

At first they were taken aback but then... most found it tasty.

The machine says HESS PACIFIC... does that mean that's a German and Japanese maker

working together on these machines?

I think that what this might have been, yes.

Is Pacific a vending machine company?

Pacific doesn't make vending machines anymore.

They produce aluminum foil, for cars and such too.

That's why the toast earlier was wrapped inside aluminum foil!

That's it.

We found an interesting connection here then.

There are two doors to get in.

If you put money in, one of these will turn and one sandwich will fall out.

Beneath here there are two hot plates.

They will both wedge in the toast and toast it.

Then when the time is over, the hot plates will open and drop the sandwich.

That's why they were crunchy and really toasted.

Can you believe it?

There is even a vending machine for hamburgers here.

It's not Guten Morgen (Good Morning) but Guten Burger (Good Burger).

It has something resembling the German flag here too.

Guten means "good" in German.

It says Guten Burger in a German style, but in contrast we have a Mexican burger here.

I will enjoy this contrasting menu a lot.

Let's spend 1, 2, 300 yen on this.

300 YEN!

Let's go! Mexican!

It takes just over one minute.

Seconds until my Guten Burger is done 10...9...

What? How? It's suddenly super fast.

5...4...3...2...1......

It's boiling! So hot!

It says "Mexican" on it. There is also a cute stamp of a girl on it.

Can you see the stamp? Cute!"

Let's open the Mexican!

That's how it looks.

Inside the box, the burger is wrapped up one more time.

Wow. So many hallepeno peppers on this! It's covered in it.

And the meat it actually quite big for a Japanese burger.

It's not just meat. It tastes of onions and other spices.

It's soft and the hallepeno peppers work perfectly to complete it.

When you match it it's not too spicy.

It matches perfectly.

Wooop Mexican! It's a little bit spicy now.

Last one is the sliced cheese with cheddar cheese, sliced cheese burger.

Let's go!

(Counting in German) Eins... Zwei... Drei...

Dreihundert Yen!

One came back out. Let's do it again...

No good again...

It's a bit of an older machine, so stuff like this can happen sometimes.

Let's use a different coin.

AH!

I just spoke German to the half German machine, so maybe it just didn't understand me.

Eins ... Zwei .... Drei....

Launching the sliced cheese, ceddar cheese double burger NOW!

It has so much cheese inside, I can't open it because of all the cheese.

Lots of stretchy cheese.

K'POW CHEESE!

The most popular thing on the menu in the automated diner is this:

Tartare sauce meat with bacon.

I really want to try that, so let's dig in.

Meeeeat!

Let's go!

Hot hot hot hot hot hot

Tartare meeeeat.

The tartare sauce is all gooey.

There are so many things inside. Let's eat!

Tomato sauce and Tartare sauce really go well together.

I understand why this became their most popular item.

Tomato sauce from Italy and Tartare from... maybe France?

And since it's a German machine, we got an European taste right here.

European!

Do you get visitors from abroad too?

Yes, I do. Many come because they have seen us on YouTube.

Since it's automated vending machines, you can use them without talking at all...

Yes, but I am thinking, if we get more foreign visitors, maybe

we can add some English descriptions too.

Please do! Hope that will happen.

Thank you so much for today. It was a real feast. I am stuffed.

Japanese vending machines are really something else.

What I found most tasty was the toasted garlic sandwich.

Everyone, I hope you get the chance so use some of the Japanese vending machines too.

If you are from abroad, and you come to Japan, be sure to

find some cool Japanese vending machines and try them out.

That was it from Cathy Cat today. Mata Nyan!

US stands firm with Japan, says James Mattis, as allies eye North Korea talks with unease - Duration: 4:37.

The American defence secretary on Friday sought to reassure Japan that it would not be abandoned by the Trump administration as it sought to reach a denuclearisation agreement with North Korea

James Mattis, who has become accustomed to placating anxious allies, promised to maintain and strengthen security ties during a visit to Tokyo

Japanese officials have been rattled by recent concessions to Kim Jong-un's belligerent regime, including the surprise announcement that joint US-South Korean war games had been suspended

"We're in the midst of very unprecedented negotiations right now with North Korea," said Mr Mattis, as he stood alongside Itsunori Onodera, the Japanese defence minister

"But in this dynamic time, the longstanding alliance between Japan and the United States stands firm

"  A day earlier he offered similar assurances in Seoul, part of a regional tour designed to explain US intentions and hold together a united front

Inside North Korea - forbidden photos  Allies have expressed frequent concern that Mr Trump's Singapore summit with Kim could leave them exposed if North Korea returns to testing missiles and nuclear devices

Their jitters intensified when Mr Trump announced without warning on June 12 that he was suspending joint exercises with South Korea

The drills are viewed from Tokyo as one of a number of measures that demonstrate US military might and help contain the North Korean threat

Mr Mattis said the decision was taken to create the diplomatic space needed for peace negotiations

"At the same time, we maintain a strong collaborative defensive stance, to ensure our diplomats continue to negotiate from a position of unquestioned strength," he said

Although much of the international focus has been on the danger from Pyongyang's recently developed long-range nuclear arsenal, near neighbours lie within striking distance of its shorter range weapons

Shinzo Abe, the Japanese prime minister, has repeatedly called for the world to keep up its hard line approach to North Korea

Earlier this month, Mr Onodera issued his own warning, telling an audience at a Singapore security conference that Pyongyang has repeatedly agreed to give up nuclear weapons since 1994 only to continue developing its arsenal in secret

North Korea's nuclear history: key moments  On Friday, he said the US and Japan must work together to dismantle "all of North Korea's weapons of mass destruction, including biological and chemical weapons and ballistic missiles of all ranges"

North Korea, which has previously vowed to sink Japan into the sea, fired two test missiles over the island nation last year

Here's everything you need to know about when the Belgium vs Japan match will be held, where it'll take place, how to watch on TV and livestreaming, key players to watch and what the current match odds are

When is the Belgium vs Japan match on?The Belgium vs Japan match is scheduled to be held on Monday, July 2 at 7pm BST (2pm EST)

Where will the Belgium vs Japan match take place? The upcoming match will be held at the Rostov Arena in Rostov-on-Don, Russia

How to watch the Belgium vs Japan match on TVIn the United States, the match can be seen on Fox and livestreamed on fuboTV

Those looking to watch in the United Kingdom can see the match on BBC One while livestreaming will also be available on the BBC iPlayer

Players to watchOn the Belgian side, Romelu Lakaku is unquestionably one player to keep a close eye on

The Manchester United striker is currently tied with Cristiano Ronaldo with four goals, trailing only Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane in the tournament so far

Chelsea star Eden Hazard is yet another Belgian player to watch closely, having contributed two goals so far to Belgium's fearsome offense

Dries Mertens, Michy Batshuayi and Adnan Januzaj are other top scoring threats to watch closely in the upcoming match

Japan has quietly put together an impressive run so far thanks to veterans like Keisuke Honda and Shinji Kagawa, both of who have scored one goal apiece so far in the tournament

Takashi Inui and Yuya Osako, both having also scored once apiece, are other potential scoring threats to keep an eye on

Belgium vs Japan match oddsIn the upcoming match, Belgium are clearly favored over Japan

Belgium has been an offensive superpower at the tournament, having scored nine goals so far and currently boasting a goal differential of +7, both of which are the best of any squad in the 2018 World Cup

Stars like Romelu Lakaku and Eden Hazard have combined for a staggering six goals so far in the World Cup while Michy Batshuayi, Adnan Januzaj and Dries Mertens each boast one goal apiece, giving the team virtually unmatched offensive firepower

This was evident after the squad's decimation of Panama and Tunisia in the Group Stage and edging England in a final match that saw both teams rest their starters

Japan, meanwhile, has been one of the pleasant surprises of the World Cup so far, defeating Colombia, drawing Senegal and losing only to Poland

The team, while somewhat thin on younger talent, still has plenty of reliable veterans like Keisuke Honda and Shinji Kagawa

While Japan has performed very admirably so far in the tournament and more than made up for their disappointing 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil four years ago, most oddmakers believe that Belgium's overwhelming offensive firepower will be simply too much for them to handle in the upcoming match, thus pegging Belgium as having a clear edge

✅ Belgische bondscoach Martínez vreest omschakeling 'dynamisch' Japan - Duration: 2:57.
