Top 10 Best Places To Visit In Japan │ Tourists Attractions In Japan │ Japan Visiting Places - Duration: 10:28.
Top 10 Best Places to Visit in Japan.
Japan is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean with dense cities, imperial palaces, mountainous
national parks and thousands of shrines and temples.
Shinkansen bullet trains connect the main islands of Kyushu, Honshu and Hokkaido.
Tokyo, the capital, is known for skyscrapers, shopping and pop culture.
Japan is somewhere I think everyone should visit.
From futuristic skyscrapers to tranquil bamboo forests and neon arcades to serene temples,
its like nowhere else on the planet.
The food is incredible, the people are ultra polite and it has one of the most efficient
public transport systems in the world.
We love the combination of ease of travel and glorious bewilderment.
These are our picks for the absolute best places to visit in Japan, perfect for your
first or second trip to the country.
In this video we are talking about top 10 places to visit in Japan.
So please click the subscribe batton and press the bell icon for more videos.
Number 10.
Hiroshima.
On the 6th August 1945, Little Boy exploded directly above the Hiroshima Prefectural Commercial
Exhibition Hall instantly killing everyone inside.
The crumbling skeleton of the building stands as a haunting monument to the tens of thousands
that died immediately and in the decades that followed.
Wandering through the Peace Memorial Park, its easy to feel impotence at the lack
of power one has to put a stop to the tireless stupidity of prejudice and hatred on both
sides of any dispute, whether or not it leads to such devastation.
Unfortunately, these feelings seem to permeate so many of us as human beings to the point
where they are too easily invoked to gain political capital throughout the world.
The only real temperance is education.
We each have a duty to learn from the mistakes of the previous generation; to sidestep the
reptilian instincts and to have the courage to live up to the better nature that exists
in all of us as a virtue of simply being people.
Number 9.
Nara.
Nara was Japans first permanent capital and is full of historic treasures including
many UNESCO world heritage sites.
Its one of the top Japan attractions and makes a rewarding day trip from Kyoto to visit
the temples and wild deer in Nara Park.
The Daibutsu-den (Hall of the Great Buddha) at Todaiji is the main sightits the
largest wooden building in the world and nothing prepares you for the immense sight.
Inside is the 15-metre tall gold and bronze statue of Buddha that dates back to 751.
Number 8.
Tsumago.
Tsumago is a picture-perfect traditional mountain village in the Kiso Valley.
It is one of the best-preserved post towns in Japan and you feel like youve stepped
back in time on the traffic-less streets of beautifully restored wooden inns.
During the Edo period 300 years ago, Tsumago was a stop on the Nakasendo Way between Kyoto
and Edo (now Tokyo).
You can hike part of this trail to the village of Magome in about two hours.
Unfortunately, a typhoon prevented us doing this, but its supposed to be a scenic and
easy walk.
Number 7.
Koya-San.
Koya-san (Mount Koya) is one of the most interesting places in Japan to experience the traditional
side of the country.
This secluded and sacred temple town is located in the forest-covered mountains of Kansai
and is one of the best places to get a taste of life as a monk by staying in a shukubo
or temple lodging.
After wandering around the otherworldly Okunoin forest cemetery, we checked into our simple
tatami room at the temple, soaked in the communal onsen bath, and enjoyed a delicious shojin
ryori vegetarian Buddhist meal.
In the morning we were up early for the chanting and meditation ceremony with the monks.
A temple stay at Koya-san is a fascinating experience and well worth the detour from
Osaka or Kyoto.
Number 6.
Nikko.
Nikko is a temple town and UNESCO world heritage site in the mountains a few hours north of
Tokyo and makes a cool retreat from the city.
The temples and shrines with their vermillion gates and moss-covered stone lanterns are
scattered on the wooded hillside.
The main attraction is Toshogu Shrine, a stunning complex with more than a dozen lavishly decorated
red and gold buildings amongst huge, ancient cedar trees.
The crowds can be overwhelming, so afterwards head to one of the quieter shrines.
You could visit Nikko as a day trip from Tokyo, but its worth spending a night or two to
explore one of the most beautiful places in Japan including hiking trails, lakes, waterfalls,
and hot springs.
The area is famous for its vibrant autumn colors.
Number 5.
Kanazawa.
Kanazawa is one of the best cities to visit in Japan, but few foreign tourists make it
here.
As Kyoto grows in popularity consider turning to Kanazawa instead for a quieter place to
experience geisha districts with preserved wooden buildings.
There is also one of the most beautiful gardens in the country, a stunning castle, and many
art museums to explore.
In Kanazawa dont miss, Wandering Kenroku-en Garden, one of the top three gardens in Japan,
Exploring the wooden teahouses of the geisha districts Higashi Chaya and the quieter Kazuemachi
and Nishi Chaya, Experiencing a traditional tea ceremony at the exquisite Gyokusen-en
Gardens.
Number 4.
Hakone.
Mount Fuji is on most peoples lists of places to visit in Japan, but this must-see
Japan landmark can be rather elusive and is often hidden by clouds.
There are a number of places you can see the mountain from, but we decided on Hakone because
its easy to reach from Tokyo and there are lots of other things to do in the area
in case we were out of luck with our sighting.
Despite visiting on a cloudy, drizzly day we were lucky that Mount Fuji emerged from
the clouds above Lake Ashi and it was magical!
Hakone is also fun to visit because you can do a loop of the sights on different modes
of transporttrain, bus, pirate boat and cable car.
In Hakone dont miss, Buying a Hakone Free Pass so you can hop on and off all the transport
options on the Hakone Loop.
Seeing Mount Fuji from the lake or cable car, Eating a black egg cooked in the hot sulphur
springs at volcanic Owakudani not really, these look gross, but the Japanese go crazy
for them, Soaking in an onsen Staying in a tatami room in a ryokan and enjoying an elaborate
dinner, Wandering the outdoor sculpture gallery at Hakone Open Air Museum.
Number 3.
Takayama.
Takayama is an utterly gorgeous small town on the edge of the Japan Alps and one of the
best less-visited places to go in Japan.
I loved wandering the historic centre full of traditional wooden houses, colorful shrines,
neatly shaped trees, and bright red bridges over the river.
Theres lots to do in the surrounding countryside and we could easily have spent longer than
the two nights we had here.
In Takayama dont miss, Wandering the old town in the early morning before the crowds
arrive, Buying delicious fruit from the morning markets, Snacking on mitarashi-dango from
a street stall, Seeing the extravagant floats at the Festival Floats Exhibition Hall, Visiting
the Hida Folk Village to see traditional thatched houses, Cycling through the countryside with
Satoyama Experience.
Number 2.
Tokyo.
If Kyoto is the heart of traditional Japan, Tokyo is its ultramodern counterpart.
Its here youll find the skyscrapers, noisy arcades, busy pedestrian crossings,
crazy youth fashions, and many incredibly delicious restaurants.
If all you do in Tokyo is eating, youll have an amazing timeeven as vegetarians
we ate so well.
Tokyo is also home to some of the weirdest activities weve ever done.
From themed cafes to sensory-overload shows and arcades to cos-play go-karting.
In Tokyo dont miss, Dressing up as a Mario character and driving a go-kart on the real
roads.
Eating in a tiny restaurant on atmospheric Memory Lane, Gazing at the night skyline from
the free Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku, Walking across the famous Shibuya
Crossing, Gawping at the crazy fashions of Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Visiting the
brilliant Disney Sea!
Getting sensory overload at the bizarre Robot Restaurant show.
Number 1.
Kyoto.
If you only have time for one Japan destination, make it Kyoto.
This is traditional Japan as you imagined itgeisha in brightly colored kimonos emerging
from wooden teahouses, forests of bamboo, temples and shrines in gold and silver and
scarlet, raked gravel Zen gardens, intricate feasts served on lacquered plates, graceful
tea ceremonies, and markets full of intriguing but unidentifiable ingredients.
The concrete high-rises of downtown Kyoto can be disappointing, so head out towards
the mountains to the surrounding neighborhoods where youll find narrow stone streets,
old wooden houses, monks in flowing robes, and the sounds of chanting and gongs from
the many temples and shrines.
Gion is the place to spot geisha, Higashiyama has many beautiful temples to explore, and
Arashiyama, up in the western hills, is one of the most traditional neighborhoods and
home to bamboo groves, quirky temples and monkeys.
Kyoto is one of the top Japan tourist spots, so try to visit the popular temples early
in the morning as they do get crowded.
Taking the train to the village of Kibune and walking across the valley to the beautiful
Kurama-dera temple, Retreating from the busy streets of Gion to the magical Yasaka-jinja
at night, Experiencing Zen Buddhist cuisine at the Tenryu-ji temple, Getting off the beaten
track at the quirky Otagi Nenbutsuji temple.

Japanese Vending Machine Restaurant! EAT IT ALL! A day at the VENDING MACHINE DINER in Japan - Duration: 17:20.
I will push it now.
Is it there? Oh yes they got it.
Cheese!!!
Hello everyone...
I am Ask Japanese's Cathy Cat.
Do you know how convenient Japan is?
Convenience stores are open 24/7, the trains are on time.
And there is an un-rivaled number of vending machines.
So today we will go on a place that is featuring vending machines.
Let's go.
In Tokyo there seems to be a vending machine around every second corner.
I love going round them and finding new drinks and crazy themed drinks.
Today I went to Gunma prefecture a few hours away from busy Tokyo
to find a unique vending machine restaurant
called "The vending machine diner".
Wow there are really strange vending machines here...
I have seen them for the first time.
The vending machines are super retro.
Some have been in use for about 30 years.
Now, those machines do not sell drinks, they mainly sell hot food.
So today my challenge will be to go and try all their items on the menu.
What type of place is this?
We have retro vending machines here.
This gives kids nowadays a chance to experience them, even if they don't know the old vending machines.
What I find rare is that it's food and not drinks.
It is. Nowadays it's hard to find food vending machines.
When were these food machines popular?
Around the 1980s. During that time there weren't any 24hr convenience stores.
If you wanted to sell something 24hrs, it had to be in vending machines.
So the old vending machines were like the convenience stores of nowadays.
That's right.
Mr Tomaru actually thinks of new food items.
So they always have a variety of new and fresh items in the machines.
Also my tip you can't use bills here so break them down into coins first.
Alright, let's get us something tasty.
Let's get udon first!
Let's get some tempura udon out of the machine.
It started making noises.
4...3...2...1...
Do they get done this quickly?
It made a clicking sound. Wow that's so fast.
Let's look.
It's steaming hot.
Wow. It doesn't look that different from udon in restaurants.
Let's try it.
This is so good.
It's so hot.
The tempura is soft now but looks good.
The vegetables inside still have a bite to it. Nice.
This one doesn't seem to have any toppings.
I can only need ramen noodles.
Or is it there? It's here!
There is sliced pork meat.
There are some bean sprouts.
Wait there is more. Two slices of meat.
Looking good looking good.
Let's try the meat with the noodles...
This looks tasty.
This is so good. The meat is super juicy.
I often get instant noodles but this is totally different.
The noodles are fresh and the meat is juicy. This looks tasty.
It has a rich soy sauce flavor.
I prefer this to convenience stores ramen noodles.
It's so cold in here... - It's a fridge.
How does this get so hot in such a short time?
This is a spiral staircase, and the first one comes out like this.
Then hot water and soy sauce flavor pour into it.
That's how it gets so hot. The hot water is 90 degrees hot.
Toasted sandwich vending machine.
There are two flavors. Ham and Cheeeeddaaaar Cheese.
That's funny. They also have a taster menu.
Grated garlic mayonnaise plus sliced garlic.
There is some ham inside, it says.
There are also other things. See, they have cute pictures drawn all over.
"It's hot so there are tongs" it says.
N"It's super hot so please use the tongs, ok?" and here it says "munch munch"
"Be sure to do it!"
"Don't burn yourself!"
Frog: "What the heck! This is friggin hot!"
And since it's so hot there are some mittens too.
There is also a designated tray here.
If I use this right, I should be able to eat some tasty toast.
Let's first try the Ham and Cheeeeddar Cheeese toast.
One two. Let's push this.
It says "Toasting" in Japanese here.
Since it's burning hot, let's use the tongs like they said.
Alright then...
Wow this IS hot.
Let's get it out.
It smells of tasty toasty toast. Smells tasty.
Let's have a look inside.
Outside there is ham, inside there is Cheddaaaar Cheese. The stretchy kind.
Let's dig in.
I like that it has a crunch outside.
Inside it's gooey.
This is super good.
Grated garlic mayonnaise , sliced garlic and there is some ham wedged inside.
and apparently it has "crazy salt" inside...?
Crazy Salt people!
Let's use the cute mittens.
So hot.
Let's put it over here. Blep.
Let's try out their taster menu.
I like the smell of garlic and toasty bread...
It's rich in garlic flavor, but I can take it. It tastes really good.
I tried your taster menu. It was really nice.
There was a lot of garlic inside. - Yes I tried doing that.
Sorry for my garlic breath. *breathy voice* SO MUCH GAAARLICCC.
I am ok.
Do you do these taster sets a lot?
Yes I do. I design food variations that I am interested in.
And then I ask the customers how they like it.
Before I had variations like sweet bean paste and cheese and such.
That's totally different. Sweet beans and cheese?!
What did your customers say to that?
At first they were taken aback but then... most found it tasty.
The machine says HESS PACIFIC... does that mean that's a German and Japanese maker
working together on these machines?
I think that what this might have been, yes.
Is Pacific a vending machine company?
Pacific doesn't make vending machines anymore.
They produce aluminum foil, for cars and such too.
That's why the toast earlier was wrapped inside aluminum foil!
That's it.
We found an interesting connection here then.
There are two doors to get in.
If you put money in, one of these will turn and one sandwich will fall out.
Beneath here there are two hot plates.
They will both wedge in the toast and toast it.
Then when the time is over, the hot plates will open and drop the sandwich.
That's why they were crunchy and really toasted.
Can you believe it?
There is even a vending machine for hamburgers here.
It's not Guten Morgen (Good Morning) but Guten Burger (Good Burger).
It has something resembling the German flag here too.
Guten means "good" in German.
It says Guten Burger in a German style, but in contrast we have a Mexican burger here.
I will enjoy this contrasting menu a lot.
Let's spend 1, 2, 300 yen on this.
300 YEN!
Let's go! Mexican!
It takes just over one minute.
Seconds until my Guten Burger is done 10...9...
What? How? It's suddenly super fast.
5...4...3...2...1......
It's boiling! So hot!
It says "Mexican" on it. There is also a cute stamp of a girl on it.
Can you see the stamp? Cute!"
Let's open the Mexican!
That's how it looks.
Inside the box, the burger is wrapped up one more time.
Wow. So many hallepeno peppers on this! It's covered in it.
And the meat it actually quite big for a Japanese burger.
It's not just meat. It tastes of onions and other spices.
It's soft and the hallepeno peppers work perfectly to complete it.
When you match it it's not too spicy.
It matches perfectly.
Wooop Mexican! It's a little bit spicy now.
Last one is the sliced cheese with cheddar cheese, sliced cheese burger.
Let's go!
(Counting in German) Eins... Zwei... Drei...
Dreihundert Yen!
One came back out. Let's do it again...
No good again...
It's a bit of an older machine, so stuff like this can happen sometimes.
Let's use a different coin.
AH!
I just spoke German to the half German machine, so maybe it just didn't understand me.
Eins ... Zwei .... Drei....
Launching the sliced cheese, ceddar cheese double burger NOW!
It has so much cheese inside, I can't open it because of all the cheese.
Lots of stretchy cheese.
K'POW CHEESE!
The most popular thing on the menu in the automated diner is this:
Tartare sauce meat with bacon.
I really want to try that, so let's dig in.
Meeeeat!
Let's go!
Hot hot hot hot hot hot
Tartare meeeeat.
The tartare sauce is all gooey.
There are so many things inside. Let's eat!
Tomato sauce and Tartare sauce really go well together.
I understand why this became their most popular item.
Tomato sauce from Italy and Tartare from... maybe France?
And since it's a German machine, we got an European taste right here.
European!
Do you get visitors from abroad too?
Yes, I do. Many come because they have seen us on YouTube.
Since it's automated vending machines, you can use them without talking at all...
Yes, but I am thinking, if we get more foreign visitors, maybe
we can add some English descriptions too.
Please do! Hope that will happen.
Thank you so much for today. It was a real feast. I am stuffed.
Japanese vending machines are really something else.
What I found most tasty was the toasted garlic sandwich.
Everyone, I hope you get the chance so use some of the Japanese vending machines too.
If you are from abroad, and you come to Japan, be sure to
find some cool Japanese vending machines and try them out.
That was it from Cathy Cat today. Mata Nyan!

US stands firm with Japan, says James Mattis, as allies eye North Korea talks with unease - Duration: 4:37.
The American defence secretary on Friday sought to reassure Japan that it would not be abandoned by the Trump administration as it sought to reach a denuclearisation agreement with North Korea
James Mattis, who has become accustomed to placating anxious allies, promised to maintain and strengthen security ties during a visit to Tokyo
Japanese officials have been rattled by recent concessions to Kim Jong-un's belligerent regime, including the surprise announcement that joint US-South Korean war games had been suspended
"We're in the midst of very unprecedented negotiations right now with North Korea," said Mr Mattis, as he stood alongside Itsunori Onodera, the Japanese defence minister
"But in this dynamic time, the longstanding alliance between Japan and the United States stands firm
" A day earlier he offered similar assurances in Seoul, part of a regional tour designed to explain US intentions and hold together a united front
Inside North Korea - forbidden photos Allies have expressed frequent concern that Mr Trump's Singapore summit with Kim could leave them exposed if North Korea returns to testing missiles and nuclear devices
Their jitters intensified when Mr Trump announced without warning on June 12 that he was suspending joint exercises with South Korea
The drills are viewed from Tokyo as one of a number of measures that demonstrate US military might and help contain the North Korean threat
Mr Mattis said the decision was taken to create the diplomatic space needed for peace negotiations
"At the same time, we maintain a strong collaborative defensive stance, to ensure our diplomats continue to negotiate from a position of unquestioned strength," he said
Although much of the international focus has been on the danger from Pyongyang's recently developed long-range nuclear arsenal, near neighbours lie within striking distance of its shorter range weapons
Shinzo Abe, the Japanese prime minister, has repeatedly called for the world to keep up its hard line approach to North Korea
Earlier this month, Mr Onodera issued his own warning, telling an audience at a Singapore security conference that Pyongyang has repeatedly agreed to give up nuclear weapons since 1994 only to continue developing its arsenal in secret
North Korea's nuclear history: key moments On Friday, he said the US and Japan must work together to dismantle "all of North Korea's weapons of mass destruction, including biological and chemical weapons and ballistic missiles of all ranges"
North Korea, which has previously vowed to sink Japan into the sea, fired two test missiles over the island nation last year

The Knockout Stage of the 2018 World Cup will soon begin in earnest. The Round of 16 will feature Belgium taking on Japan in the high-stakes single-elimination round

Here's everything you need to know about when the Belgium vs Japan match will be held, where it'll take place, how to watch on TV and livestreaming, key players to watch and what the current match odds are
When is the Belgium vs Japan match on?The Belgium vs Japan match is scheduled to be held on Monday, July 2 at 7pm BST (2pm EST)
Where will the Belgium vs Japan match take place? The upcoming match will be held at the Rostov Arena in Rostov-on-Don, Russia
How to watch the Belgium vs Japan match on TVIn the United States, the match can be seen on Fox and livestreamed on fuboTV
Those looking to watch in the United Kingdom can see the match on BBC One while livestreaming will also be available on the BBC iPlayer
Players to watchOn the Belgian side, Romelu Lakaku is unquestionably one player to keep a close eye on
The Manchester United striker is currently tied with Cristiano Ronaldo with four goals, trailing only Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane in the tournament so far
Chelsea star Eden Hazard is yet another Belgian player to watch closely, having contributed two goals so far to Belgium's fearsome offense
Dries Mertens, Michy Batshuayi and Adnan Januzaj are other top scoring threats to watch closely in the upcoming match
Japan has quietly put together an impressive run so far thanks to veterans like Keisuke Honda and Shinji Kagawa, both of who have scored one goal apiece so far in the tournament
Takashi Inui and Yuya Osako, both having also scored once apiece, are other potential scoring threats to keep an eye on
Belgium vs Japan match oddsIn the upcoming match, Belgium are clearly favored over Japan
Belgium has been an offensive superpower at the tournament, having scored nine goals so far and currently boasting a goal differential of +7, both of which are the best of any squad in the 2018 World Cup
Stars like Romelu Lakaku and Eden Hazard have combined for a staggering six goals so far in the World Cup while Michy Batshuayi, Adnan Januzaj and Dries Mertens each boast one goal apiece, giving the team virtually unmatched offensive firepower
This was evident after the squad's decimation of Panama and Tunisia in the Group Stage and edging England in a final match that saw both teams rest their starters
Japan, meanwhile, has been one of the pleasant surprises of the World Cup so far, defeating Colombia, drawing Senegal and losing only to Poland
The team, while somewhat thin on younger talent, still has plenty of reliable veterans like Keisuke Honda and Shinji Kagawa
While Japan has performed very admirably so far in the tournament and more than made up for their disappointing 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil four years ago, most oddmakers believe that Belgium's overwhelming offensive firepower will be simply too much for them to handle in the upcoming match, thus pegging Belgium as having a clear edge

✅ Belgische bondscoach Martínez vreest omschakeling 'dynamisch' Japan - Duration: 2:57.
