Auto news on Youtube May 30 2018

So my friend Jim, he called me up and was like

Hey before I start residency I want to go on a trip with you

I was like, Okay sure, what do you want to do?

He saw my trip to Japan with Darryl and he said,

I'd like to do something like what you did in Japan.

Okay, let's do Japan again!

Let the record state I actually wasn't sold on doing another one of these vlogs

Jim really wants to so he convinced me

So if it's really boring, you can blame him

Oh shoot! Oh snap!

Hey what's good?

We made it in Japan guys

Whoo!

I'm home!

No, you gotta say it in Japanese!

I'm homo

So the idea is going to be something kind of similar to last trip

We're gonna start in Tokyo, head over across the mountains to the Toyama area

Do some cool stuff there

Head down to Osaka and Nagoya because you grew up there, right?

-Nagoya? Yeah. My roots.

And then finish back in Tokyo.

Maybe do a day trip to Sendai.

Now we're in Piss Alley.

Grab a bite to eat before we go to the Robot Restaurant.

We're going in guys! We're going in!

So how was that as an intro to Tokyo?

Oh man...

I don't really know what happened.

The plagarism was crazy good

Are you excited for everything else we're going to do?

It's going to be all that caliber the entire time.

-Oh shoot, I might die

So this morning we got ready and by complete accident we ended up

basically dressing up the exact same -Do you like our pants?

He's got longer socks, my shirt has a pocket... so they might be able to tell us apart

but we're not too sure

We're about to head over to Namerikawa which is by the shoreline

and next to where they do these Firefly Squid tours

It's a little early in the morning, right?

We're heading over to the Firefly Squid Museum. This boat tour will take us out and let us

see fisherman catch these bioluminescent species of squid that light up blue at the night time

Just got finished listening to the safety briefing. Hopefully nothing important.

I understood zero percent.

Hey hey look it's Stephen

-Jim, where are we? -I don't know.

We're in Takayama now.

Today and tomorrow, in April, Takayama is the site of

one of the three premier Spring Festivals in Japan

This butcher has been open for 90 years.

Yep this place is pretty serious about their Hida beef

These are the festival floats for the parade behind us

Flight wasn't so great.

About an hour in the pilot goes, "Oh air traffic is reporting

moderate to severe turbulence for the rest of the trip"

Dude we should use this

-Tell them what you said about Piss Alley before.

-I think it's located next to Shit Avenue, next to Shit Street.

Alright Jim, where are we?

We're here again because Jim really wanted to come

Which one did you get?

-I'll have a good birth -Congratulations!

Good birth! -Good bebe!

-Jim, where are we?

-I dunno

-What's going on here?

-Uh, I dunno

-Do you know what country you're in?

-Wait wait... no.

So we were gonna transfer like an hour into the mountain train ride when all the sudden

they told us all the trains are cancelled.

There's no more trains going where we need to go.

We have to find a bus stop or something?

We're kinda lost in translation.

They told the Japanese people what to do and they all left so we're following them.

We're just hoping that we are following the right crowd because honestly I don't know

if 80% of these people really know what's happening.

We made it.

We fit everyone in eventually

俺は1番になりたい…

それだけだ。

誰よりも強い一番になりたい。

他の誰よりも一番に…

ただ一番になりたい…

ただそれだけなんだ。

ごめんよ。

ACH...

Not much to say about you.

How did I lose to him last year? That's what I thought when they counted to 3.

I guess I was finally able to get my revenge.

I don't really care about the belt he has on his waist.

Now you know that it's worthless to bring that to New Japan, nobody here cares.

Next is Flip Gordon…

I have 2 wins and 3 losses...

I guess I'm still in it, somehow. I'm holding out hope. I won't give up.

EN SERIO!

You're great, huh? A friend of Alex Shelley...

I know that. You're a friend of Shelley.

You sure are great. Shelley's buddy. You're technique is awesome.

Terrifying, even though I don't have the mental capacity to handle that feeling.

What? That thing after the match? I don't have the headspace to deal with this.

I'm on the edge, too. I can't lose.

Sabin… Sabin… Sabin... It's Sabin, right?

Sabin?

Huh?

It's Sabin, right?

Who am I facing tomorrow? I'm confused now.

Who is he? It's Sabin, right?

I know, I know. It's Sabin.

Yes, I will win. I will.

No, no, no... Even though Hiromu is leading, he's getting too excited, isn't he?

As long as he keeps winning... What's his score now?

Hiromu has 2 wins and 2 losses.

He's only even?

I get that it's important to act big like that, but at least have more wins than losses.

You're facing Chris Sabin next, huh?

It's been 9 years since...

When Sabin and Shelley, Motor City Machine Guns came here, they made history.

You can't argue with that.

I was fighting them then, but I was influenced by them, too. No doubt.

I still think they are the best tag team I've ever faced.

Takahashi Hiromu, from Los Ingobernables de Japon will face that Chris Sabin, tomorrow.

But, he'll keep on saying...

More, more, more, more, more... let's have more fun everyone. That's what he says.

I'm going to enjoy Takahashi Hiromu vs Chris Sabin tomorrow.

You guys should come to watch them in Kooriyama.

I'll see you guys there.

Hasta mañana.

Adios.

Let's have more fun!

The First Black Enka Singer in Japanese History - Duration: 3:07.

(singing in foreign language)

- I never thought in a million years

that I would be here in Japan singing

the music that my grandmother introduced me to.

I'm a testament to say that no matter

how big your dreams are, they can definitely be achieved.

(speaking foreign language)

(singing in foreign language)

Enka is a form of Japanese music,

so it's only sung in Japan.

It is considered a older genre of music.

I call it Japanese blues because

all of the lyrics are very sad, melodramatic.

They often talk about lost loves and heartbreak.

It uses a lot of imagination.

It really doesn't spell out the meaning of the song for you,

so everyone who listens to the music

can have their own interpretation.

(speaking foreign language)

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

My grandmother, she was originally from Yokohama.

I basically went to my grandmother's house

just about every weekend.

She listened to enka music all the time.

I think it was a way for her to keep Japan in her heart,

even while she was living in the U.S.

I started singing around five years old.

My grandmother would always say, "You sing so well."

Just to see a smile on her face

would just brighten my day because I loved her so much.

Because I had so much love for enka

and wanted to know what the lyrics I was singing meant,

I started studying Japanese in high school

and throughout college.

I was always interested in Japan

and where my mom and my grandmother came from.

So I moved to Japan to become an enka singer.

(singing in foreign language)

The very first time I stood on the stage

and sang for a crowd was actually on TV.

Kinda like American Idol.

I was given so much praise and

it made me feel really, really good.

They were just so surprised.

Like, why would would a 20-something American

be listening to a genre like this?

And it kinda worked in my favor.

(singing in foreign language)

I started singing professionally in 2008.

There's never been an American whose been on stage

singing enka professionally here in Japan.

I've had the opportunity to do different types of songs.

Children's songs, musicals, TV dramas.

I think I've been really embraced

wholeheartedly from the Japanese audience.

Me singing enka really was a way for me

to connect to Japan and connect with my grandmother.

And to this day, the love I have for enka has not changed.

I wonder if he is having lunch.

But be careful buddy, birds of prey are about.

That's the spirit.

Stay out of sight little buddy.

After all, You've got to watch out for humans too.

Breaking News - Japan 0-2 Ghana: Akira Nishino loses first match in charge - Duration: 3:22.

New Japan manager Akira Nishino deployed a new formation but endured a disappointing first match in charge with a 2-0 defeat by Ghana as his side prepared for the World Cup at a rain-drenched Yokohama Stadium on Wednesday

Goals from Ghana captain Thomas Partey and debutant Emmanuel Boateng with a penalty ensured a miserable night for Nishino and means the ex-Japan midfielder has difficult decisions to make in the next 24 hours before naming his 23-man World Cup squad

Nishino, who took over from Vahid Halilhodzic in April after the Bosnian had guided Japan to next month's finals in Russia, switched the formation with three central defenders, two wing-backs and two inside forwards supporting a lone striker

Despite wing backs Yuto Nagamoto and Genki Haraguchi posing a threat going forward, there was confusion in defence with the back three often sitting too deep and Genki Haraguchi caught out of position at least three times in the first half

Partey scored with a free-kick after eight minutes as Nishino's new formation failed to function with brief moments of attacking menace tempered by vulnerability in defence

Five minutes after the break Japan's back three dawdled and hesitant goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima gave away the spot-kick that was coolly dispatched by Boateng for Ghana's second

Keisuke Honda, who looked the most likely to score in the first half, twice tested goalkeeper Richard Ofori but the 31-year-old, now plying his trade in Mexico at Pachuca, notably tired in the second half before being substituted

Shinji Kagawa also looked sharp after coming on at half-time. The Borussia Dortmund playmaker, who has been sidelined with a series of ankle injuries this year, immediately brought more dynamism and creativity to the Japanese attack

However, it was ultimately a poor night for Nishino, who must now decide on his squad on Thursday with few positives to reflect on from his sole game in charge

Japan's first Group H match is against Colombia on June 19 before they face Senegal and Poland at the finals
