when talking about cleaning of tall buildings windows we may think of

climbing or a very tall ladder hmm they are very dangerous!

actually the most common way to do that job is by using scaffolds

but also they are not very safe

since the human lives are the most important criterion in our design process

we got a thought of a separated device that is an installed for each window and it's controlled from inside

The idea is simple, we brought a window shutter that is generally used for sunlight and modified

it to be attached with a squeegee and water sprinkler system so when the

window gets dusty you just turn it on and let the shutter do its job of cleaning

The new in the system is that we can't clean window safely effectively and easy to maintenance from inside

no workers at risk of falling from height also the

also, the cost of the product relatively cheap

in comparison to other products which used to do the same job of windows cleaning

for example scaffolds we can notice that the Automatic Window Cleaner is safer

and doesn't require a specialized labor for operating, and also it's cheaper

The possible users or clients are those people who own flats or building that

need continuous cleaning of windows, or even people who live in apartments

and want to clean their windows easily so that they can see beautiful views through windows

for further developments we would add some touches of decorations and

modifications for example eliminating or reducing the size of drip tray to make its appearance more beautiful

The team inspected the product many times after

manufacturing to see whether it's working or not

and when they tried it, the result of cleaning was more than satisfying

New Zealand Scholarships at the University of Auckland - Duration: 3:31.

when I got admitted to the University of Auckland and also awarded a scholarship

by the New Zealand government it was sort of a hard decision my main concerns

were the place to stay and my kids education whether they're gonna be

allowed to attend school here I was worried about changes in the lifestyle

here it was a good position that I made to bring my family over now that my kids

were going to school here arriving here in the university it was very welcoming

the staff and the students were all kind and friendly facilities are great here

like the libraries the computer labs and everything is provided for the students

my lecture for my business and innovation course is really friendly and

he helps us a lot on my days off I enjoy time with my kids with the support of

the answer date that I was but to get them into school easy we made

new friends here in Auckland working with microbe they were really supportive

we work together and we share a lot of information this course will help me

improve the standards of energy policy within our country I always go to the

international offices when I mean assistance also for any advice on any of

the things that I need for university the international offices also out to me

with choosing the right courses that will go along with my master's and

energy my advice is to come apply and come to the University of Auckland you

get to learn about new things and new lifestyles

we're conscious that when you come to the University of Auckland and to New

Zealand from a developing country that is a big challenge for people and so

providing pastoral support as well as academic support for those students and

for international students generally is very important I really appreciate that

my supervisors are expert in the field the knowledge and skills that I gained

from Auckland you nearly have my current work

not many people considers about their indigenous people but when I was in New

Zealand and in I realize it is important I used emotive models here a study

master Public Health Program but it's really important it gives me a - many

have the gap problems as well as social problems it always brings me back to

what I studied at the Center for development studies and an Auckland

because I'm applying all that to trying to make my country a better place for

everyone the scholarship because it's ever so intense benefit to me because it

progress my career very fast what's the key for me to get into the Asian

Development Bank where I'm at right now if you're thinking about applying to the

University of Auckland under a development scholarship I think I would

say stop thinking about it and just do it and I guarantee it's gonna be one of

the best decisions you'll ever make I learned so much not only from my

classes but just from the experience of living New Zealand's just going and you

won't regret it

Sabrina's Story | Faculty of Arts | University of Groningen - Duration: 1:49.

My name is Sabrina Corbellini.

I'm professor in the history of reading in pre-modern Europe,

at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Groningen.

Research on reading involves books, of course.

One of the most precious books from the Special Collections of the University of Groningen

is an incunable printed in Zwolle in 1495.

The book, a copy of the "Boeck vanden leven ons liefs heren Ihesu Christi",

is illustrated by an impressive series of woodcuts.

And here you see one…

What makes this page so unique is that it depicts a man, Mensch, kneeling before a Lady.

Scriptura.

Scriptura is sitting on a reading chair beneath a medieval library.

The books are scattered on the shelves.

Mensch is actually the reader of the book and he is instructed by Scriptura

on how to develop good and efficient reading techniques.

In the last years, research has concentrated on the reconstruction of levels of literacy

and on the circulation of books, but there has been less attention

for "how", "where" and "why"

medieval people were actually reading their books.

I address these questions together with the members of my research teams

"Cities of Readers" and "In Readers' Hands".

How were medieval people reading?

What place did reading take in their daily activities and in their daily lives?

How did they learn how to read?

And most importantly:

Why was reading in the Middle Ages and now, such an important activity

in the formation of responsible, creative and resilient citizens?

University at Buffalo: Alternative Break 2018 - Duration: 5:30.

Alternative Break 2018: Dominican Republic. Snapchat: UBuffalo

Get ready for a takeover! Alternative Break in the Dominican Republic

Here is a recap!

Good morning everyone, my name is Anissa Eaglin, I'm a junior here at the

University with a major in Health and Human Services, two minors in education

and counseling and I am here in the Dominican Republic with a special

organization called Outreach 360, we are here to teach English to

the children of the Dominican Republic so join me on my Snapchat takeover today!

Here is my team!

Hey guys! So this is our morning walk to the school where we teach two classes! (On our way to the first school of the day!)

Our morning walking route.

Another look!

Welcome to Franciso Javier! Woooooo! (Our school is Franciso Javier!)

The beautiful students of Franciso Javier learning about the weather in English! (Children singing)

It's recess time! (Let's go Buffalo!)

Hey everyone! We're leaving Franciso Javier after our first session in the morning, we had one class

and then we had recess where we played with the kids, then one more class, now we're going for lunch.

So this is our last time teaching at Franciso Javier and we said bye to all of our students, it was really sad, but we still have to go!

Hi everyone! Francisco Javier is preschool through fifth grade, we had the pleasure this week of teaching

first and second graders, and third and fourth graders.

We were teaching about nature, so trees, wind, rain and storms, and we're just so

grateful to have this opportunity. Go Bulls!

Rice and beans, chicken, cucumber and tomato salad and fried plantains for lunch!

Morning! (School #2: Bella Vista)

We're in recess now after our very first class!

Hey! Everyone say hi! Hola!

So after a long day of teaching, we stop and get some fresh juice!

I'll let everyone say hi, and I'll let Mitchell say hi too! Hello!

(Fresh juice! She makes it right there in front of you!)

Salud!

Okay, my name is Miguel Acosta, I'm a leader with Outreach 360,

and this is a great experience for me to be working as a teacher and as a group leader.

Outreach offers opportunities to grow and to believe and teach new things.

It is a place to learn, not only English, but the culture of the United States and Canada.

So, I'm a happy man in Outreach 360!

The great part is to teach the local students who go to public schools, we have about 25 students,

And we have a computer lab, and we meet for more education! That's why we have

a foundation, a summer camp, and monthly donations.

Thank you!

We got to visit the Dajabon market where thousands of goods

are exchanged every Monday & Friday

between the people of Haiti and Dominican Republic.

Dance class to end the evening! We love dancing bachata and merengue!

Hey everyone! This is our last night in Monte Cristi, we're having our last group reflection.

Reflections have been so important over this trip to help us grow together as a

group and connect on a deep level. If you're interested in learning more about

how to get connected to an Alternative Spring Break trip like this you can

visit the Office of Student Engagement in 235 Student Union. Goodnight!

Goodnight Bulls! Thank you for following us! Visit the Office of Student Engagement for more information on trips like these!

Building20 Workshop by UEG at American University - Duration: 2:21.

(piano music)

- B20 is a creative and strategic incubator

designed to give students a look into the world

of marketing and advertising.

- We're working with United Entertainment Group

to fulfill an RFP, a request for proposal from Speedo Fit.

We have four teams competing today.

If they win they get $5,000 to spread among

the four team members as well as a trip to New York

where they get to shadow UEG executives.

- This is an integrated campaign so they can take aspects

of you know, marketing, advertising, PR, social.

It's a great test for their skills.

- The UEG executives are really all about helping us learn

about how the actual process works so they're going around,

they're being really helpful to all the groups,

they're giving some really good advice.

- We pride ourselves in giving our students

experiential learning opportunities.

They get this through a lot of our different classes

but this is a kind of different experimenting

which is you know, very compressed period of time.

- I did this before our class before but we had like

three months to prepare and doing the entire classes

in one day is definitely a challenge.

- (mumbles) has definitely prepared me for this.

A lot of my assignments and my graduate program

have been real world applicable.

- It's all the things that we've been learning throughout

my four years in the public relations program

but applying it in a real life scenario

in such a limited time is really bringing out

so much creativity and so much team work

within my group members.

- For them it's a great opportunity to experience

a little bit of what this industry has to offer

and for us it's a great way to meet

the next generation of great talent.

- It's just this wonderful opportunity to be able

to make those connections and network.

- I have not seen any opportunities like this

anywhere else and this is really unique for my future

because it can lead to a potential job.

- By coming to American University

and being a part of the School of Communications program,

I am able to get experience I would absolutely

not get anywhere else.

- We take the breadth of communications units

that we have in the school and out them all together

so really great things can happen.
