Auto news on Youtube Jan 26 2019

Okay, we have arrived in Osaka (really) -Yes

This is a house

Philip go take your shower dude

Otherwise I will go first

You said you wanted to go first

dude

This noob...

Two beds on this side

Philip just went inside the bathroom

There is a toilet over here

Toilet. Yes. Check

Two more beds on this side

Here is room to eat some rice

or cup noodles, or even fries (I think you need to take off your shirt)

Maybe you should indeed

There is a samurai over here and 2 wooden sticks

(wooden sticks???)

We are in Osaka now

Just arrived here

in Dotonbori

This is a tourist place

The whole street is full of places to eat

It is now evening

10 pm, but still very busy

You can basicly eat anything here

like crab, seafood or fish

sushi, ANYTHING

you can eat crab over there (no you can't because it was closed)

Whole street is full of stores selling food Slow and steady...

We will see what we are going to eat

We are at

a internet bar

I'm not sure how much this costs as the others paid for it

We have to wait till we can check-in at our stay in Osaka

That is why we have entered this place

So that is our current situation

There are two computers inside and a couch

Over here, there are plenty of mangas you can just take and read in your box

and you just put 'm back when you are done

Okay, Thomas what is your first impression?

(dude I need to take a leak)

We are here

well

traditional Japanese house?

There is a dining table

a lower table over here

and a couch over there

lets see what is upstairs

(Where is the bathroom?)

How are the bedrooms looking like? (Hey you can choose)

Choose what?

What is this restaurant?

(how is this place called?)

What will we eat here?

we paid 2000 yen

for 90 minutes all you can eat

But you have to bake it? cook it? yourself

How do you call it?

(fry)

Yes, we have to fry it ourself

We have two frying pan

and some meat ready over here

which we have to fry ourself

Why don't you show us how its done?

Ok

(be careful not to spill it in the frying pan)

You have to cover it all up

(what, this stick is sticky)

Cover it all up!

Yes

and then you dip it in that dish

Remember what kind of meat it is

Some things are done after 1min, other 2min and yet other 3 min

[Dude, just do it on feeling] (What did I had?)

That is chicken, no?

(2min I think)

Chicken thigh

2 minutes

Do we actually need a timer for this?

(well, you have your watch)

Yes...Go on.

O my, Philip is going full speed

We have eaten this much

time for desserts

This is a

mango cake

and this one

is a mango cake

this one is a

mango cake

and this one is, also a mango cake

(what about this one?)

I reckon its a mango cake

We are now at Namba Parks

on the rooftop

Namba Parks is kinda like a mall

or a plaza, and on the roof

there is some nature

How are you? What did you just eat?

(What I just eat?) (Bacon)

[Fried things]

[Fried chicken, fried beef] I see, I see

there is some nature up here

(going for a stroll)

Yes, just walking a bit

There is a handprint over here

[It feels very good up here] Yes

this was the rooftop

nothing special really

So beneath us

is this mall

we are on the 9th floor right now

That building over there is Osaka Castle

Meaning we are (still) in Osaka

Today is 38 degrees

I am sweating like mad

this is crazy

(Slow and steady) Slow and steady...

There is nothing we can do about it

[It's over] It's over...

There is something else over here

Yeah...Shops and restaurants

Why are there so many people?

(watching fireworks)

We are here

because there is a festival

we will see what it is

anyway, lots of people

(lots of police officers)

Lets see

Lets see

It is so crowded

There is something going on on the river

and after that there is a firework show

Look at the crowd

That bridge is full of people

Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thais

Plenty of nationalities

Even people from Hong Kong

Ok, we are now going

further, I don't even know where to. We are just following these people

It is so crowded

Everywhere you can find these little food stalls

selling some snacks, like fried things

Lets see what we will encounter

Wajow, this Lawson is making huge profits

There is the boat on fire

They are burning a boat over yonder

or something similar

anyway, there is a huge flame

Lets see if we can get closer

You want to grab something to eat?

Actually there are lots of festival in Japan in July and August

which attracts a lot of people

People meet up

and eat together

and it is very lively

This stall is selling some fish

and this one sells fruit

I don't have the slightest clue what this one is selling

Anyway

There are a lot of food stalls

It is like the carnival in the Netherlands, but on boats

There are some people on the boat

doing I have no clue what

It should not take long

maybe 30 minutes

till the firework show starts

I thought earlier it was crowded, but this is even more crowded

People waiting for the firework show

The whole place is filled

(It is so crowded..)

Firework show should start soon

People have to go home right now

but by train is a bad idea

I think these officers will actually push people inside

Look at how crowded these trains are

Oh my days

We have arrived in Kyoto

from Osaka it took approximately

1 hour by train

Lots of shrines around here

where people pray for good fortune

Every time you walk inside the gates you will get blessed right?

Infinite blessings!

(or cursed...)

No way right

Only if you walk outside of it

(even number is blessed, odd numbers is cursed)

(so you better keep your count)

Actually today is a normal Japanese day

It is sunny and hot and I am sweating

We are now halfway on a moutain

Deciding whether we will go up or not This will take one hour

But this is not a normal mountain

There are stairs and these gates

These red gates

like thousands of them

The whole way is full of it

We can rest a bit here

Thomas is here, enjoying the hot weather and sweating like mad

(I am not sweating, having this fan)

Luckily there are some water sprinklers

But it is not enough

This is easy

It is like walking up Snow World

Slow and steady, we will see you at the top

Still in Kyoto

second shrine over here, but it all looks the same

It is nice to visit it nonetheless

There is a

statue of a dragon

and a shrine up there, but we cannot enter it

and there is another one over here

So how is it?

Are you satisfied entering this temple?

(what?)

Are you satisfied?

(what are you even saying)

Are you satisfied?

(Happy?)

Yeah

This is what the view is like (it is so frickin' hot, how can I be happy)

Hot?

Just keep waving your fan

Let see what is on the inside of this

This is it.

(That photo)

(is the building we are in now) Yup yup

There are some shrines on the inside

There are small boxes infront of them

where you can donate some money or pray for good fortune

There is a box here as well

You can decide yourself whether you donate or not

This person is donating

(Tenryuji shrine)

Tenryuji shrine... (I think)

Something with 'Ten'

*Attempt at translating into Chinese*

*Translation failed*

(~Starts singing in Cantonese)

Where ever you go the dragon always keeps his eyes on you

*Translating into Chinese*

Where is this dragon?

(Starts filming as well)

(We are at Tenryuji flower garden)

What flower garden?

So where are the flowers?

(How should I know)

Nice flower garden without flowers

(Look, there is a picture of flowers over there)

This is our last day in Japan

and we are going to eat curry rice

We had this on the first day as well

Good thing about this place is that you can choose your spicyness level

First day we took level 0

You know, just trying out

The second time we choose +2, right? [Yep]

Spicy level +2

It was sweat inducing

and tough

Now we are trying +4

He is even gonna try +5

This is going to be hell

We will see...

You want to say something? (nope)

So Thomas on the other hand took 0 the second time

No, wait, he even took -1 spice level

and now he is trying +3

Hes a goner (should be fine...)

(as long as I have water)

What about you, you doing fine?

[still ok]

How are you?

{It's going great}

I feel liquid leaving my eyes and nose

and sweating big time

How are you doing?

How are you?

{Pretty spicy..}

What about you? Still ok Philip?

[I'm holding on]

And you?

(Okayish...)

How come you almost finished the rice and still have this much curry left?

(No need for curry)

Philip, almost done

Hans almost done as well {Almost done}

I am done

Easy No problem

Defense Ministry demands Japan's evidence for denying its low-altitutde flight claim - Duration: 1:51.

Yesterday the nation's defense ministry released photos of a Japanese military patrol aircraft

carrying out another low-altitude flyby near Seoul's warship.

Tokyo rejected claims, saying it was not conduct such an aggressive act.

South Korea responded: if that's the case, then Japan should provide evidence.

Kan Hyeong-woo has our top story.

On Friday, Seoul's Ministry of National Defense urged Tokyo to provide evidence... if it really

thinks the Japanese plane did not fly in a threatening way near the Korean ship.

A day earlier, the defense ministry released five photographs taken from the naval destroyer

Daejoyeong showing what it said was a Japanese maritime patrol aircraft flying near the ship

in an "aggressive" manner at a low altitude.

But Tokyo has denied Seoul's claims,... saying the plane was on a regular mission -- that

it was not flying in a threatening way and that it was not at the low altitude South

Korea asserts.

"I received a report from the Defense Ministry saying that there was no proof that a Maritime

Self-Defense Force patrol plane flew in the way South Korea claimed, and that it had flown

appropriately."

In response to Japan's denial,... an official at South Korea's defense ministry said if

Japan believes the pictures Seoul released are not proof, then Tokyo has to explain why

and provide its own evidence.

But according to Kyodo News Agency, Japan's Ministry of Defense told reporters on Friday

that Tokyo does not intend to offer such evidence.

The latest flyby has raised tensions between the neighbors even further.

This series of disputed encounters between their militaries began last month in the East

Sea when Japan claimed a South Korean warship used its targeting radar on a Japanese plane,...

something Seoul says there is no evidence for.

Kan Hyeong-woo, Arirang News.

Hello! I'm IZ*ONE's "full of charm," An Yu Jin. Nice to meet you.

Hey, why... Why are you pushing me?!

[Japanese variety show cliche: Repeat the same things again and again.] You started again without us!

You shouldn't do that!

Yujin: You're late! You're late! MC: We're not!

No, no, no, no, no!

MC: YOU'RE TOO EARLY!

You're too early!

Wonyoung: You're late! You're late! MC: We're not!

Just as the last week, we're teaching you the style of Japanese variety in this show.

That's right.

Aren't you getting too comfortable already?

Yeah, that's not good.

Do you remember our names, right? Can you say them?

You look a bit unsure.

It's already the second week and you still don't remember?

Eunbi, can tell us, right? What his name?

...Chukuru?

Chu?! Chukuru? What is Chukuru?

Oh, "Kuru~~~!" (his joke, meaning "is coming")

Oh, I was joking! I was joking!

MC: Joking? What is his name, then?

Ah, Tsukaju?

Tsukaju?! I'm not Tsukaju. You don't remember the MC's name yet.

Tsukaju san.

Tsukazi!

You don't remember his name yet!

He is "Tsukazi Muga" san, OK?

Let's call him! 1, 2!

Tsukazi Muga san.

I'm usually called by the last name only. Even Japanese people wouldn't call me Muga san.

And who is he, then? Chaeyeon?

Zakiyama san.

Thank you very much.

He's known for "Kuru~~~!"

IZ*ONE is

coming to Abema TV~~~!

Stop arranging it without my permission.

La Vie en Rose version.

IZ*ONE version.

It's like this!

It seems we're getting more familiar with each other.

But Tsukazi is just... a little biased.

[Hyewon is Tsukaju san's bias] Tsukazi: No, I'm not.

[Hyewon is not paying attention] Tsukazi: ...OK, she's not even looking at us.

Zakiyama: Please be kind to him, Hyewon. Hyewon: Ah, yes.

Now, this is the special program featuring IZ*ONE, who's just debuted in Korea.

In this program, IZ*ONE members are to experience the conventional style of Japanese variety show

so that they can quickly learn and do well in Japanese TV shows after this.

How was the last week's show, everyone?

Did you get any feedback?

It was great!

Have you heard anything?

How about you, Wonyoung?

Yes, I talked to people, "It's great, isn't it?"

Oh, really? I see.

Sakura, how about you then?

I've got LINE messages from my friends in Japan.

[Didn't you say you had no friends last week?] MC: Ah, you've got massages. You have friends now!

They said they watched the show!

That's nice! Yeah, amazing!

So unexpected, right?

We are filming two episodes in a row, though...

Actually, this episode was filmed just after the previous episode which was aired last week.

They are concerned about the airdate while filming the show...They seem to have learned a lot about Japanese variety already!

OK, today we're firstly talking about

"What's her character? The first impression talk!"

Various themes are in this box.

Please point at a member you think most suitable to that chosen theme (the first impression).

This game will show what each member think of other members.

You all know very well about your members, right?

Are you confident?

Yes, we are!

OF COURSE!!

"Of course"? That's great!

Chaeyeon sounds a bit short-tempered.

Then Tsukazi, pick one card.

The first theme is...

"Who is the best singer?"

It would be more like the fact than just the first impression.

Are you all ready?

Oh, they're all preparing...

Everyone, you're not really stabbing at someone! Just pointing at her.

The best singer stabbed by many fingers.

Of all the members working hard as an idol group,

who is actually the best singer?

Get ready,

1, 2...

Yuri!

Yuri won the most points!

Yuri chose Chaewon, right?

Is it that decisive? Decisively Yuri.

Yuri is IZ*ONE's main vocal.

That makes sense.

She has such a wide vocal range.

Yuri's vocal range is no joke!

She demonstrated her amazing voice for us!

First, give us the lowest key of your voice.

Then, what is your highest key?

Amazing!

Can you say "Kuro chan desu" (a joke of a Japanese comedian) in that key?

[Japanese variety show cliche: Unreasonable requests] "Kuro chan desu."

Kkura chan desu?

No, not that "Kkura chan."

"Kuro"

In your highest key.

"Kuro chan desu!"

Kuro chan...

Kuro chan desu!

[Higher than the original]

If possible, can you do "Kuro chan desu! Wawawawa~~~~"?

Kuro chan desu! Wawawawa~~~~!

[Get more laugh than the original!?]

You can use this somewhere else!

You all approved this wide vocal range of her?

Going to the next theme.

The next theme is...

"Who is the best at winking?"

It's important for idol members. The moment a camera shoots them... and then, "wink!"

That will certainly give fans a heartattack, right?

Then, who is the best at winking? Ready?

Of all the members, the one who's best at winking is...

1, 2!

Wonyoung!

Oh, everyone picked Wonyoung except herself. Wonyoung chose Sakura?

I think its Kkura chan.

Oh, she is making fun of me.

Is she?

Really...Her eyes are really charming to me.

Oh, you mean it. Not making fun of her?

Not trying to embarrass your unnie, right?

Why do you all think Wonyoung is the best at winking?

She's pretty.

How about Nako?

Yeah, really... She's the best.

You know, she's also good at getting the right timing to give a wink.

Like, "Wow, you give a wink at this timing!"

On music shows, she throws a wink at the timing of "La la la la vie en Rose!"

She's so pretty.

I see. On that particular moment. Can you show us how you do that right now?

Wonyoung's wink that everybody's praising!

Please show us!

1, 2! La la la la vie en rose!

Wow, that's it!

Even the cameraman is grinning.

[The wink that enchants even professional cameramen]

You're melting, aren't you? Don't be!

He's nodding frantically.

But Sakura is also chosen as the best member at winking.

"La la la la vie en rose" "Rose!"

[Sakura san, in charge of the chorus part]

Do you give a wink at that timing?

No, it's too short to be caught on a camera

We want that version, too!

From "La la la la vie en rose," OK?

Please show us!

1, 2! La la la la vie en rose!

Rose!

Just a moment!

Your mouth was half open. You were eating something.

Looked like biting on an ice cream bar.

For Wonyoung, that wink Sakura gave us was the best?

It's so cute!

Was that cute to you?

When we were practicing, we had the time to practice winking.

Sakura chan did... (wink)...like this.

How cute~~~!

She's teasing me for sure.

Wonyoung's making fun of you.

It's because of nutritional deficiency...

Nutritional...?

Is it that kind of problem?

Lack of Magnesium...

Magnesium?!

[Mildly lacking some metals] Can you do a wink well when you've taken a sufficient amount of Magnesium?

Is it something like Iron? You should eat spinach and some liver?

Going to the next theme.

What is next?

"Who is the best at impersonation?"

Yena was chosen as the best mimic.

What will she imitate?

Yena, what are you going to imitate?

I'll do (an impression of) a duck.

An angry duck in the beginning, then change into a cute duck.

An angry duck to a cute duck. Good.

Are you fine back there? Will you come out to the front?

Then, it's an impression of an angry duck to a cute duck. Please do!

Only on the last moment, she's like...

Does she mean to imitate that Duck, I wonder.

It was cute, really.

Yena does her best at everything.

I like Eunbi chan.

[A sudden confession?]

What do you mean, "I like Eunbi chan"?

You like her imitaion?

Eunbi chan is good at doing an impression of the members.

Whose impression are you gonna do, Eunbi?

I'll do Hii chan's.

Hitomi's impression. So, please come here.

It's an impression of me, dancing to "Koi Suru Fortune Cookie" back then.

Ah, OK, "Fortune Cookie."

Fortune Cookie's song...

Isn't it a gag?

That's a funny dance.

Was it really that sharp?

Is her facial expression accurate?

She's not happy at all!

Completely straight face.

Hitomi, do you think you were like this?

I was working too hard like this...

Please show us the original, too!

Oh, looks similar.

Your moves were big.

You look angry, don't you?

That's not me!

[The perfect imitation including the face]

Hitomi's facial expression was like this? Really?

Just a little smile.

You could turn that into Master Sakata('s dance).

[Koi-Tune dance ≒ Dumbdumb dance (Sakata's dance)]

Hey, you want to do this too, Minju?

You're teasing her.

[Honda = the one to be teased?]

Everyone's doing Fortune Cookie dance.

Was that dance such sharp and dynamic?

Hitomi's original dance was quite dinamic, too.

At the Fortune Cookie time I debuted.

So I was doing my utmost back then.

You couldn't loosen up a bit.

I wanted to show that I was good at dancing.

That you could dance sharply.

[The center of attention in a different way!]

Eunbi watched that. She never miss anything like such details.

So, all the viewers watching this program might've found out IZ*ONE members charms by now.

It was "What's her character? the first impression talk!"

From now on, IZ*ONE members continue to play games to win fancy dessert just as in the previous week's episode!

There are three games to play!

The member who performs most poorly on the games will have to do a penalty game!

The first game played in the last episode was "The Send Message Game." The Big Sister team and Younger Sister team competed with each other.

Warm

Warm?

Hiragana

Hiragana?

The Big Sister team won this game!

The second game was "Cover Your Eyes and Eat Soba Game!"

The blindfolded members have to feed soba to her partner.

Though it was a mess, the winning pair who succeeded to feed soba was

Wonyoung and Yuri!

And also the pair displayed great team play,

Hyewon and Yujin!

This time, the members who are to play the game are...

The next challengers are

Nako-Eunbi team and Hitomi-Minju team!

Eunbi and Nako team. How did you decide who's gonna eat or feed?

Eunbi chan really wants to eat soba.

Oh, really? She likes soba?

So you'll feed her properly, right? Nako: I'll do my best!

Nako, you're not sitting on a chair, are you?

[Apparent height difference] No, I'm standing upright.

Eunbi's so kind. To make Nako look taller.

Thank you.

And then, how about MInju and Hitomi team?

I want Minju to eat soba because she came all the way to Japan.

Oh, you're kind.

Do you like soba, then, Minju?

Yes, I've eaten soba many times in Korea but

It's my first time in Japan.

First time? So you've eaten soba in Korea, but you've never tasted it in Japan?

Your first Japanese soba is in this variety show.

There might be more delicious soba out there... this soba's nice too, though.

Hitomi wears her eye mask in such a cool way!

Is that how the eye mask supposed to be used?

Now please blindfold yourselves with the eye mask.

[Japanese variety show cliche: Funny-face eye mask]

Amazing.

Why did you choose that?

They both look like ready to battle.

[Old-fashioned comic style vs Sports comic style]

Hey, hey! Hold your horses!

First, decide where to put soba sauce cup.

Where do you want to put it? Choose wherever you like.

This shows a lot of your personality.

OK.

And now it's Minju's turn.

Wait, wait, wait. You can't put it and fix it there.

Well, you're naughty. Both of you.

Where do you put it?

Everyone tries to put it on such an unstable place.

Here? OK, OK.

You have to give directions clearly to your partner.

Now, start the "Cover Your Eyes and Eat Soba Game!"

Nako, nako, to the right, to the right.

Upward, upward.

[One-mouthful-and-win Style]

Um, right? Left?

Left, left left!

Too far, too far.

There's no sauce there. Both team can't reach the sauce cup.

Oh, that's close!

Right, right!

Oh, Eunbi made it?

Eunbi's eating soba!

Nako is getting the knack of it.

Oh, OK! OK!

They are both getting better at it.

Be careful with the chopsticks!

Be careful! It's dangerous!

Chopsticks might stab her throat!

Oh, Minju!

Minju is catching up!

What kind of situation is this? Minju is eating all by herself.

What are you doing, Hitomi?

Time's up!

That was a great battle!

At first, Eunbi Nako team was going ahead of the other team.

Minju Hitomi team caught up really fast!

How Minju inhaled soba was amazing!

Incredible suction just like Dyson vacuum cleaner!

It was a great battle.

Comparing the quantity of soba they ate,

Minju Hitomi team is the winner!

Now is the prize dessert time!

The members who won the prize are Wonyoung, Yuri, Hyewon, Yujin,

and today's winners, Hitomi and Minju!

You've gone too far!

Please come back!

Then the winning teams are...

Just a moment! Eunbi is still eating soba as if nothing happened.

Wait! Camera has not shot the dessert yet!

You guys are too fast! Please calm down!

[Overly excited in front of the dessert!]

[Japanese variety show cliche: Whenever something comes out, camera must shoot it first]

You guys eat like a big family members do.

Please make comments on the cakes.

[Japanese variety show cliche: Food report is a must! (the 2nd time)]

It's really really delicious!

Yuri is showing off her prize cake!

This is something we can't see in a Japanese variety show.

I don't know why, but I think I could watch this forever...

Right. We feel somehow happy.

It was "Get through it with teamwork! Cover Your Eyes and Eat Soba Game!"

The second game is over but these members have not done very well yet.

Who's gonna be the one to do a penalty game!?

The next game is this!

"Don't think, just feel! Send Message with Illustration Game!

In this game, each member has to convey the given subject to the next member with illustration.

It'll be a pass if the final member can answer correctly what the subject is.

The Big Sister team is first to challenge.

Do you usually divide the members into these two teams: Big Sister and Younger Sister teams?

You guys already know which member is good at drawing?

Eunbi is good.

Saku chan is good, too.

They always make fun of me.

In fact, you're bad at drawing?

It's not really that she's bad at drawing...

Her drawing is quite unique.

She has a sense.

Do you mean it? It's like, her drawings are a bit bizarre?

A bit like Picasso's.

Picasso was actually excellent at drawing, you know?

Who's worst at drawing?

Yena and Hyewon.

If these two get through, It will be OK.

Then they can successfully get the message across to Chaewon.

Now, we'll tell the subject for the Big Sister team.

Don't peek at it, everyone.

[Subject: Lion]

You can draw in 30 sec. and show it to the next member for 10 sec.

Now, let's start the "Send Message with Illustration Game!"

30 sec. should be long enough to draw.

Oh, other members are counting the seconds for them.

Ah, yes. Here is ... Younger Sister Clock.

Too fast! Too fast!

Her drawing certainly has a unique taste.

28, 29 30.

10 sec. to show the drawing.

Next member's turn!

You all can count in Japanese, that's great!

It's going well so far.

Now, please look at it, Hyewon.

You should only look at it for 10 sec.

Time's up! Please start drawing, Hyewon.

Hyewon looks a little unsure.

Members counting the seconds...

You could't find such kind members so easily anywhere else.

Though we're not sure if this Younger Sister Clock is accurate.

Time's up! Please show your drawing, Hyewon.

Now it's Yena's turn!

Can you show us your drawing, Hyewon?

Oh, wait! Is this alright?!

[Even the Younger Sister Clock has stopped due to the shock]

I wonder how Yena was able to figure this out.

There's a home-made feeling... Younger Sister members are counting the seconds for them.

30. Is this really accurate?

Everyone, please show your drawing to MCs too!

Oh...What?!

These two are a bit problematic indeed.

That's awful!

Can Chaeyeon bring it back on track?

You've only got 10 sec. to look at it.

Please start drawing!

Wait a second. This is shocking.

But there still could be a miracle...

If Chaewon can use her imagination and figure this out...

Then she might draw the correct subject.

OK, time's up!

Now, what did you draw?

Mom...?

Mother? You've drawn "Mother."

Then, Sakura, please tell us what the subject is.

It's "Lion!"

Fail!

How could a lion turn into Mother?

That's completely different!

After looking at Sakura's drawing, Eunbi thought it a lion, right?

Well, I think Sakura's was a bit problem too.

Somehow it has eyebrows.

Eunbi was good enough to change this into the thing she drew!

What did you think it was, Eunbi?

Lion.

Hyewon's has something in its hands.

Cymbals.

What did you think it was?

Ah, a monkey with cymbals.

Then, Yena, what did you think it was?

A beautiful woman wearing a bikini...

Turned into a girl in a bikini.

Then Chaeyeon?

What did you think it was?

I thought it a woman too.

You arranged it a bit.

So you dressed her, I see.

You're kind.

You put an apron on her because she might feel embarrassed.

What is this then?

Cooking utensil.

You put cooking utensil on her shoulder?

She wouldn't use it like this.

And Chaewon's drawing is...

A mother waving her hand.

They changed so much.

Anyway, this set a bar for the other team.

Lion to Mother, this distance is important.

These are Big Sister team's drawings.

An animal to human... An unexpected transformation.

The next is Younger Sister Team's turn!

Who is good and who is bad at drawing?

Oh, Yujin, are you confident?

And Wonyoung too?

I have a good sense.

You say it yourself?!

My ability might not be so high...

Not perfect, but I have a good sense.

That's most cool thing to say.

Who's the weak point, then?

Weak point?

Yuri! Yuri! Oh, I think Minju is too.

What have you drawn there? Us the MC?

It certainly a nice drawing, but...

if you ask the drawing looks like us, it doesn't.

Still, you have a good drawing skill.

Why am I looking the other way...?

She's already practicing the drawing.

You are all ready, then?

The members in the middle affect the final drawing a lot.

Yujin's place is important, as seen in the Big Sister team's result.

She has a good sense so she will be OK, right?

Now, let's show the subject.

[Please try and guess the subject together]

OK, let's start the "Send Message with Illustration Game" now!

The other team is counting the seconds for them.

Isn't it too fast?!

Too fast, too fast. Slowly please.

[Big sisters being harsh to their younger sisters]

It's too fast.

Oh, I don't know...

What, Hii chan is in trouble?

Hii chan's drawing is a bit...

[Miyawaki san has sensed something]

Hii chan's drawing is a disaster.

Show it to Wonyoung, please.

This is a disaster.

No wonder Wonyoung's staring it open-mouthed.

I'll draw it just as I saw.

Well, how much Wonyoung can fix that drawing?

Finished.

You have 10 sec.

We all know why Yujin's face looks like this.

Now, please start drawing.

30. Now, please look at the drawing, Yuri.

Ah, that's how it turned out.

OK, please start drawing.

Now, Nako's turn.

Uh-huh.

Naturally. She would say uh-huh to this.

There's no other way to turn out from this, for sure.

You still have time.

Everyone's so good at drawing so that they don't need 30 sec. to finish their work.

Now, Minju.

Oh, she's fast.

This counting down affect them.

Oh, you finished already?

Let's finish the game then!

Now, Minju, please tell us what you drew?

A crab!

A crab!

OK, the subject is really a crab or not...

Hitomi, please tell us!

It's "Hippopotamus"...

It's a hippo! So it's a fail!

Well, this is a big problem.

Hitomi's hippo does not look like a hippo at all!

This drawing is a disaster.

I tried really hard.

You copied her drawing very well.

Wonyoung, what did you think it was?

Nothing. No idea.

You couldn't see anything in that drawing.

All I can think of is a monster.

At first, I thought she started to draw hippo's mouth.

But it turned out to be the hippo's face line.

It's diffinitely not a hippo.

And then Wonyound showed this to Yujin.

What did you think it was?

I thought, "Oh, she wanted to draw a crab."

You could see her intention and drew a crab

And after that, the crab was confirmed.

Of course it was.

They were like, "Oh, we don't need time. It's a crab, right? OK. OK."

But both teams failed.

A lion changed into a human beings.

Lion turned into Mother.

Hippo turned into a crab.

Ours are more similar.

No, no, no.

[A low-level competition has begun]

"Kani" (crab) and "kaba" (hippo) sounds similar, right?

Ah, uh-huh.

"When Mother gets mad, she'll be a lion."

How about hippo?

A hippo eats a crab.

How cruel.

Big Sister team who turned a lion into Mother

and Younger Sister team turned a hippo into a crab.

Which will be the winner?

It's a draw!

Since both team failed,

MCs are gonna eat the prize dessert.

[Japanese variety show cliche: When there's no winner, MC can eat the prize food]

OK, we got it.

Both team put forward a representative.

Choose the member who's most confident in drawing

and they are to draw Tsukazi's portrait.

Then we can decide which team win the game.

The emergency counterplan: Tsukazi's Portrait Competition!

The winner of this competition and her team members can eat these cakes!

Who is the representative of Big Sister team?

1, 2!

Eunbi chan!

And who's Younger Sister representative?

1, 2!

Yuri chan!

Yuri vs Eunbi!

The championship battle.

The subject is Tsukazi Muga, representative of Japanese middle-aged men!

Tsukazi Muga san.

You don need to memorize my full name.

Here's the representatives of the teams.

Who's gonna win the prize dessert...?

Draw it in 30 sec.

The one with a better portrait will win the battle.

I'm better than her.

[I'm better than her]

Time's up!

Don't show it yet.

Show us Eunbi's portrait of Tsukazi, please!

I love you~~~!

Well, that's a lie! I can tell.

Now, Younger Sister team.

Please show us Yuri's portrait of Tsukazi!

1, 2!

I love you~~~! (Aegyo version)

You drew me quite slim!

Don't say it's a lie!

I'm like this in Yuri's eyes, right?

With unusually broad shoulders.

Two very unique portraits.

Which is Tsukazi's pick?

Have you decided, Tsukazi?

Yes, I have.

Then, please tell us the winning team!

Big Sister team!

Here's the prize cakes for the winning team!

Please back off a bit.

[Drawing too close] Yuri's portrait was unreal.

I'm fat, I know it very well.

In my eyes, in my eyes.

My nose is not high like that

and my nostrils are completely visible!

Eunbi portrayed you well?

Yes, her portrait was more similar to me.

The cakes are for six people, just enough for Big Sister team.

They are really fast.

You've learned how to comment. Please give us your comment on cakes, OK?

Oh, for real?!

What's happening?! I'm too happy!

OMG, what should I do?

Let's eat together.

Can we? For sure?

Could you feed this to Tsukazi like this? "Say, 'aah.'"

To Hyewon-biased Tsukazi, here's her "aah" present.

Wow, OMG!

Really, "aah"?!

Hey! Heeey!!

[Japanese variety show cliche: Stealing the prize]

So yummy!

Thanks, Hyewon!

Hippo, hippo.

He is a hippopotamus.

Why did you do that?

Please taste your prize cakes, everyone.

It's really delicious!

[Food report, anyone?]

We finished all the games now.

Here is the final "cliche"...

We seem to have a happy ending, right?

However, there is...

OK, let's wrap it up! Thank you, everyone!

No, we can't finish it yet.

As told before, the most poorly performed member has to do a penalty game.

We told you that in the beginning!

We had so much fun! You don't need any penalty game, do you?

It's a must in Japanese variety show.

Well, I'm sorry. I don't want to do it but he insists...

Because I like all of you very much.

I like them too!

The penalty game is "the Mimic Shuffle Dance."

Dance to La Vie en Rose while doing an impression of another member.

Can they do that?

This is a penalty game, so it needs to be difficult!

If they can't dance, they will be embarrassed. That's it?

That's not cool, for sure.

Not cool, indeed.

We'll announce the member now.

Everyone, let's pray. "Not me, not me!"

The member is...

Another Japanese variety show cliche: Announcement is right after the commercials.

We'll announce the member now.

Let's pray, "not me, not me!"

The member is...

Yabuki Nako!

Yabuki Nako is the only member who couldn't win the prize dessert at all.

So she is chosen to do the penalty game!

Nako, you will have to imitate Eunbi's dance for penalty.

Eunbi is rather a sexy and girlcrush member, right?

Nako will try to do Eunbi's sexy and mature dance.

The cutey type Nako has to do it.

Can you do it, Nako?

A bit difficult?

I'm not sure, I have never tried it before.

If you've watched Eunbi closely, you should be able to.

[The hurdle goes higher and higher]

You only memorize your part of the dance and never care about others,

or you think more about working hard as a team.

Nako is going to try dancing to this part of La Vie en Rose.

Will she be able to dance with Eunbi's sexiness?

Hyewon started to watching the stage through binoculars.

Eunbi should definitely tell whether Nako is doing good or not.

Now, please get ready.

Music, start!

Her facial expression is a bit like Eunbi's!

Adult-like.

Seductive, isn't she?

In the end, Eunbi locks her eyes to the front like this.

How should I say, this...haughty look of her.

You've watched her closely!

Eunbi, what do you think about it yourself?

Wow.

She was perfect! For real.

Now, we've finished all the games!

We had so much fun for each games.

We had actually prepared about 15 games...

That many?!

We've already recorded so many great scenes.

We've got really excited, being with IZ*ONE!

To wrap it up, please tell us how you all feel about the show.

It's been really, really fun!

We wish it will be a regular show!

[Japanese variety show cliche: Sometimes, a special program can be a regular program]

We hope we can do MC again when the show becomes a regular.

[Japanese variety show cliche: The MC might be changed when the show becomes a regular program]

Hitomi, you have something to reflect on today...

Please practice drawing a hippo, just in case.

Now, let's give your greetings once again to the viewers in Japan, everyone.

1, 2!

Please support us! We are IZ*ONE, thank you!

How was it, everyone? Have you enjoyed watching IZ*ONE's very first variety show in Japan?

We had so much fun recording it!

This year, we'll be more active in Japan as well.

Whether you met us through this show for the first time or you're already our WIZ*ONE, continue to...

Support us please!

There is an important News from IZ*ONE at the end!

Wonyoung, you've learned Japanese variety show today. How was it?

So much fun!

The two MCs were really funny.

Yeah, it was fun and a great education for us!

But we've only learned about Japanese variety.

There must be still a lot to learn about the Idol activity in Japan!

That's right. The idol activity in Japan...

There's surely a lot. Oh, do you guys know this?

"Private Mail."

What? We don't know. What's that?

Tell us about that!

You see, you can send a message to WIZ*ONE using this Private Mail.

Wow!

Our messages can reach WIZ*ONE?

So exciting!

That's all we can tell you right now. 731 00:54:04,180 --> 00:00:00,000 Please check our official SNS for further information. 732 00:54:07,460 --> 00:00:00,000 Look forward to it, everyone! Bye bye!

Hello everybody, welcome to my channel.

I'm now in Tasmania and we're going to the Bridestowe Lavender Estate to see the

most beautiful lavender farm in the Southern Hemisphere.

It's about a 45-minute drive from Launceston city. I'm so excited!

これから南半球最大のラベンダーファームに行きたいと思います。ロンセストンから車で45分ぐらいです。

The lavender season is between December to January, we came during the right time

and we are so lucky to catch the lavender in full bloom.

年末年始がちょうどラベンダーが満開になるのでとても綺麗です!

I was surprised by the overwhelming scent of lavender from the moment getting out of

the car.

Totally blown away by this sea of purple lavender and scenic mountains in the distance.

I really enjoy walking through the fields of blooming lavender, listening to the sound

of the honey bees buzzing and just being in the moment.

ラベンダーの色が優しく心を落ち着かせてくれますね。

I'm so overwhelmed by this picturesque scenery.

The lavender field is a really good spot for photography.

Many people are capturing their beautiful memories here.

This is the café with a range of lavender flavoured snacks, meals and drinks.

There are many lavender products here in this gift shop.

Such as lavender teas, soaps, essential oils, hand creams, lotions, the soft toy bears that

filled with lavender tea leaves, shower items and etc.

Everything is in purple.

It's absolutely a lovely place to get some souvenirs for family and friends.

According to research, Lavender has many benefits and it's best known for its ability to enhance relaxation and improve sleeping quality.

This is my very first time seeing the lavender field.

I'm so glad that we came here during full bloom to see this stunning scenery.

Today's weather was perfect and the lavender fields were absolutely gorgeous.

A wonderful place to visit and relax yourself in the soothing atmosphere.

This is definitely one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited.

If you travel to Tasmania someday, I will highly recommend you to add this amazing lavender

estate to your itinerary.

Ever since its creation in 1999 SpongeBob has remained one of the most popular cartoons

in the Western world.

However, the show's success has also managed to expand into most other regions around the

world - with there being dubbed and localised versions of the show in dozens of different

countries and regions.

One region where the show has maintained a fair amount of success is Japan, with there

being a fully localized version of the show ever since 2002, which continues on to this

very day, all the way up until the present series Season 11.

One interesting thing to point out is that the Japanese version of both the show, as

well as its titular character, is just called SpongeBob, rather than SpongeBob SquarePants,

and that this is said in English even in the Japanese version.

You can still occasionally find some references to 'squared shaped pants' in the Japanese

version though.

For instance, you may recall the show's original intro song...

The into song was translated into Japanese, but for the SquarePants part, the phrase "pants

are square" was used instead and said in Japanese...

SpongeBob is aired every week in Japan and across various TV channels.

For example, you can catch the show every day Monday to Friday at 8AM on the channel

TV Osaka.

At 5PM you can watch the show every day Monday to Friday on Tokyo MX2.

And then every Saturday the show is aired on NHK Educational TV at 6PM.

The Japanese version used to air on Nickelodeon's Japanese broadcasting station, but the station

would eventually be shut down on September 30th 2009 due to declining viewers.

In 2018 though, Nickelodeon returned to Japan in subscription form and with SpongeBob as

one its main shows.

Alongside this, the show is also available in Japan on streaming services such as the

Japanese version of Hulu.

The translation of the Japanese version of the show is normally kept very faithful to

the English original.

Most character names and terms are also kept the same as in English, however, sometimes

they will be translated into the Japanese equivalent.

For example, the character Squidward, whose name is a combination of "squid" and "Edward"

goes by the name Ikarudo in Japan, with "ika" meaning Squid and "rudo" being the last part

of the Japanese spelling of Edward.

Mr Krab is also instead known as Kani-san, with "kani" meaning crab in Japanese and "san"

being a suffix added to the end names in Japan to indicate politeness and respect i.e similar

to our use of the word "Mr" at the start of names.

One big difference that the show has though is to the gender of some of the character's

voice actors.

Various characters in the show have much higher pitched voices and this is due to them being

played by female actors rather than male ones.

An example of this can be seen with Mr Krab's business rival Plankton..

As well as SpongeBob's best friend Patrick...

More recently however, Patrick has now had his voice actor changed to a male one meaning

he has a much deeper voice.

And in case you wondering how SpongeBob sounds in Japanese, here it is.

As mentioned, the show is pretty popular in Japan.

In fact, in a 2016 survey 1000s of Japanese anime fans were asked what their favourite

foreign animation was and SpongeBob was one of the top 5, coming in 4th place.

There also exists a lot of merchandise and other show-related things for fans to buy

over in Japan and various video games have also been localized and released in the Japanese

market, including: SpongeBob's Atlantis SquarePantis, SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty

Krab, Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island, as well as Nicktoons: Attack of the Toybots.

In fact, the latter 2 games were interestingly renamed in Japan to "SpongeBob and Friends"

despite the games involving a wide-range of Nicktoons characters.

Nicktoons: Battle for Volcano Island's box art was also changed so that SpongeBob is

now the only character shown on the cover.

To finish, there's one aspect of the show's Japanese broadcast that's pretty well known

in the Western internet community and that's of a particular Japanese commercial that the

show had for a McDonald's Happy Meal promotion.

Here, kids were seen receiving the SpongeBob toys and reacting unusually enthusiastically

- even for commercial standards.

This video has become a bit of a meme in the Western world, going on to receive millions

of views and shares and so, in case you haven't seen it, here it is and, until next time,

thank you for watching.

And thank you again to NordVPN, not only do they support the channel, but by using NordVPN

we accessed many of the shows we talked about today via servers in Japan.

Defense Ministry demands Japan's evidence for denying its low-altitutde flight claim - Duration: 2:03.

Amid high tensions between Seoul and Tokyo due to their radar dispute and historical

issues,... a Japanese military patrol aircraft yet AGAIN, conducted ANOTHER low-altitude

fly-by near a South Korean warship earlier this week.

And despite the release of photos from the incident by Seoul's defense ministry,...

Tokyo continues to deny that it engaged in such provocations.

South Korea countered by saying... the Japanese government must provide evidence... to prove

its claims of innocence.

Our Kan Hyeong-woo has this story.

Japan says it will resume commercial whaling for the first time in 30 years with immediate effect - Duration: 4:06.

Japan will resume commercial whaling for the first time in three decades just one day after it formally withdraws from the International Whaling Commission

The Fisheries Agency said whalers in six Pacific coast towns are expected to bring five vessels to form a fleet to hunt along the country's north-eastern coasts on July 1

Japan's decision to hunt whales for profit comes after it formally withdrew from the IWC last month after years of disagreement with pro-conservationist members

A ship owned by the fisheries association in Taiji - known for its annual dolphin hunts - will contribute one vessel to the fleet which will hunt minke whales near Hachinohe or Kushiro in northern Japan

Each vessel will then head south to Chiba, near Tokyo, while making several stops before heading back to Kushiro for more hunts later in the year, Japan's national broadcaster NHK said

Exact locations and hunting plans will be decided based on the results of research planned by the end of June, said Shigeki Takaya, a Fisheries Agency official

Japan's decision to resume whaling for profit was widely criticised, with Britain's environment minister Michael Gove saying he was 'extremely disappointed'

But while conservationists have condemned Japan's move, the scope of operation will be much smaller than the country's 'research hunts' in distant waters

These annual hunts took place in the Antarctic and north-west Pacific oceans after the IWC imposed a moratorium in the 1980s

Expeditions will now be limited to Japan's territorial waters and its 200-mile exclusive economic zone along the country's coasts

Fisheries officials plan to start with a modest plan to carefully gauge a market size, a former IWC negotiator, Hideki Moronuki, said

The withdrawal from the IWC may be a face-saving step to stop Japan's ambitious Antarctic hunts and scale down the scope of whaling to around the Japanese coasts

Japan, which is joining Iceland and Norway in openly defying the ban on commercial hunting, annually consumes 5,000 tons of whale meat from 'research hunts'

This is a fraction of the country's previous whale meat consumption of around 200,000 tons in the 1960s

But critics say they doubt commercial whaling could be a sustainable industry if Japanese young people do not see whales as food

Leaving Japan - Duration: 3:11.

The time is...we don't know. I wish I looked that fashionable. I'm just wearing pajamas.

So basically this clip is me explaining

that we were going to America -- I mean that's what the video is. Unfortunately,

as I tend to do, I forgot to turn on the mic. I had recorded everything, talking to

it and explaining what was going on, and lo and behold, I didn't even turn on the

switch. What I did say though was that we had planned on visiting my family for

Christmas. We were gonna go and stay with them around the holidays, and then we

were gonna leave around the beginning of January. I think we had a pretty long

flight maybe like 14 hours in total. 12 of that was going from Japan to America,

and then, like, the other two was going from Chicago to Nashville. But all in all,

it was definitely worth it getting to see my family and hanging out with them.

ナッシュビルに着きました!

We're in Nashville!
