We have come to Harajuku.

We are in Takeshita street,

what would be the famous food for Harajuku?

Crepes? There are so many things but..

there are also cotton candy and other sweets.

So we will eat and eat and become big eaters.

We will go home fat. Let's go!

I remember the time in elementary school.

When I was 12.

They will try out the all toppings special with all of them on at once.

What is this? The crepe that they ordered,

it's the size of 6 servings.

The toppings are banana, kiwi, strawberry and other fruits,

whipped cream, custard and other flavored ice cream,

cheese cake, Tiramisu,

there are a total of 20 types of toppings on it.

Combining 3 two servings of crepes combined into one big one.

Just holding it up is this heavy.

How is the taste?

Quite a rich taste.

You can enjoy any part.

This is quite a luxury for anyone who loves sweets.

The crepe they made with all the toppings on,

I think it's around 3000 yen. It shouldn't be 5000 yen.

If you say 3000, I say 4000yen.

4000 yen.

How much is this Crepe?

4130yen.

I'm not sure whether I can say this is cheap or expensive.

Hard to tell.

You can really call your friends and enjoy it.

It'll spill so be careful.

Pon Gashi.

What is Pon Gashi?

You insert rice into the Pon Gashi machine,

you make it explode and it's done.

It's really good. You add sugar on top.

Really good.

-The base is Japanese rice? -Yes.

-It's rice, isn't it? -Yes, rice.

Where did you last eat it?

Local festival.

For Japanese snack, I like Oni Manju.

Oni Manju.

What kind of Manju (Sweet ball) is it?

It's minced sweet potatoes.

and sweet beans are wrapped around it.

What's good about it?

I always buy it at Kofukudo which you can find in Aeon.

What is Kibidango?

Do you know Okayama Pref.?

It's a cuisine from Okayama

There was a story about Kibidango.

Momotaro.

The Momotaro from Okayama has Devil's Island in it,

So the Kibidango is famous.

What will happen when I eat the Kibidango?

What role does the kibidango have in the story?

When you eat it, you become a friend.

The monkey and the quail becomes a friend of Momotaro when they eat it.

So when they eat it, you make more friends?

There is a huge line despite the rain.

We want to have something colorful.

The ice cream isn't something that is already made,

It starts from liquid while this steel plate is -14 to -16 degrees.

You lay it on and it gets frozen from there.

So exciting.

It was great that you can order food that is so different from norm.

This I feel is really Harajuku.

I am the kind of person that often fears to miss something..

..when I am travelling with the band..

I could miss moments with my friends..

..with my family

5 years in a row, we were seaminglessly working

on our 1st and 2nd album..

somewhen in the summertime

this year..

I even announced my resignation from the band..

I've never felt like having doubts

but..

I wanted to catch up with many things I've missed in the last five to six years...

birthday parties of my closest friends I missed out for instance..

I had the urge to be part of all these events...

Music is so incredibly present everyday...

..a project you live for..

..at some point it gets so intense

that you imagine to jumping back to your everyday life...

picturing what your life would be like without music..

that's when you realize pretty quickly why you go on

...it defines who you are..

and I find it extremely intense what happened to mats and the thinking process he went through...

...and realizing that music is still one of the biggest parts in his life....

...and at this point he was struggling with himself

We all know that these barriers exist and that they always play a recurring part on our journey.

That's one of the reasons why we've learned to bring up things and talk to each other

rather than caving in an waiting until the shit hits the fan..

Looking back now...

..it was probably the best thing I could do..

I learned to focus on myself and the others.

I gained a new, broader perspective on everyone else who's working with the band

and I've asked myself..

what is it about making music that brings me joy.

what is it about touring with the band..

Does it even bring me joy?

I mean, many don't even reflect and think about that...

I really like to see that he stepped up to the plate and didn't try to avoid the confrontation....

I think that's how every note you play becomes real and authentic

It has a reason..

You realize that every song you play, every minute you spend on stage...

..is time you could spend with your families and friends..

every show means being away for a whole day...

from home

...and every fucking tour means that you have

to take days off from your regular job..

..and I'm not talking about the kind of days off where you laying on a beach

sipping on a caipirinha...

But everytime when someone comes up with doubts...

I think...

when we can face these barriers as a band...and overcome them together...

This brings us even closer together

And I think that you can feel that kind of energy in our Music..

I think you see when a band has lost this particular magic...

...when it has become just a job..

That's where music comes from...

from the constant battles in our lifes...

at least what I can tell from my experience..

that's how songs come into existance..

out of these situations ...

..where not everything runs as smoothly as you may have planned it

When you get pushed down to the ground and you have to get up again..

..that requires a lot of strength and

I think that, in a way, every album is an expression of these kind of processes in our lifes..

Our second album certainly such a process..

Everyone realized that "TO THE FIGHTERS. TO THE BOXERS" ...

was not just a flowery phrase..

It was an essential question we asked ourselves...

Can we go all in?

Yet we have big goals...

tomorrow's the last show of the tour...

..and we really wanna throw in everything we have..

a few important promoters and journalists will attend the show..

and we really have to bring them in...

We want to connect with as many people we can...

and to share our music..

so that we can come back someday...

HARRY: It was a real pleasure to see ...

how devoted and professionally the band acts on stage...

and their passion in what they do is really extraordinary..

Especially Adi's appearance on stage is what people liked the most...

...his charism and edgy style

That's something the japanese audience is attracted to..

this was the fifth show in Yokohama...

we're extremely exhausted...

but also very happy

It was one of our best shows we've played so far..

Let's drink to that!

We're laughing a lot

We're really having a great time..

although we're on the road now for 12 days with the whole team...

Mats and I are sharing one tiny bedroom

and yet we're having a blast to be on the road...

We're now in the 7th floor...

I thought that they would wait for us..

On this tour, music has become an even bigger part of my life...

generally spoken...

with Yokko but also in my life..

I think that I have more energy to make music than two years ago...

Hard to say..

Everyone gets at this point where...

everything's suddenly clear..

There are certain things that become clear in your life..

I always knew that I wanna be a musician...

..and I'm also working on this dream for a very long time..

I realized that not only Yokko connects me to music, to this dream...

but rather my whole life..

..my girlfriend..

..you..

..the boys..

actually the fact that music even exists connects me with music..

The longer we've been on tour...

..the more I've realized what I have in doing this...

..and that I totally dig what we're doing..

Especially when you're touring abroad

and you realize that your music amazes other people..

..that you can bring joy to other peoples lifes...

people from the other side of the planet from a completely different culture...

...and you get all these beautiful feedbacks...

...from people who love and appreciate what you do..

Our Atlantic Wave-ish kind of music...

..full of energy and power...

from frenetic highs and dynamical and spheric lows...

The japanese audience really liked it..

This was wonderful to see...

...and it proved us right

We all have actually no idea how this all really works...

We're just doing it and keep going on..

..as good as we can..

X-Japan - 紅 Kurenai Reaction 1997 Live | Level Blue - Duration: 6:16.

Hey guys it's Mira. It's been a while since I've done X-Japan video. It's been like at least 3 month

And I've been thinking about one song in particular to make a throwback video for... for weeks now

It is 紅 from their Vanishing Vision album, 1988

If you are new to my channel, I've already made a throwback video for Endless Rain

and Forever Love songs. So, it is only right to finally make one for 紅

But before I get into the video, I need your help here guys, especially from my Japanese friends

I kind of want to start a vinyl records collection with like X-Japan, L'arc-en-ciel, Spitz, Gazetto

and all the legends in there. Like I'm not a big collector, quite the opposite

I am an extreme minimalist in terms of my possessions

But music and wine is something I can make an exception for

I've looked up online, but I couldn't find much. It seems like many of them don't have records pressed on vinyl

I have found a couple on Ebay and that's pretty much it. So, if any of you know where I can buy

or order it, please let me know. Like where do you get this kind of stuff?

Do you have it like in music stores in Japan? Or...yeah let me know.

Now going back to 紅, I have found a live from 1997, it's the last live with Hide

I haven't seen it in years. So let's go back in time and watch it together

Like, imagine how it would sound on a vinyl record

Shoot! It makes me very emotional. Every freaking time I watch something old from X-Japan, it's like that

Aaaaah look at that look!

Man, they've started it all

I wish the quality of the video was better

I have to say, instrumental in this songs makes it all for me

Yoshiki is the beast

Legit have goose bumps right now

I've read somewhere that it was Hide's favourite song

The band is a legend, this song is a legend and event the red stage for this song is legend.

I also love the version with Yoshiki playing intro on the piano, accompanied by violin

and then Hide plays his guitar solo. Aaah! So good! They left such a legacy.

Smash the like button for X-Japan. Still very much loved and not forgotten

The other day I saw the photo on Instagram of Yoshiki and Hydo from L'arc-en-ciel in the recording studio

sitting together and I kind of freaked out. Like is that a hint from them that something is coming

or is that a wishful thinking I don't know. But, I am still waiting

I am all about the weird and wonderful, and Japan is filled with it!

What crazy things can there that pretty much don't exist elsewhere?

10 - Horsemeat Flavour Ice Cream Riiiight.

Japan gives zero efss about the Horsemeat scandal, the Japanese are not above eating

horse.

In fact, they embrace tasty horse so much that they have even turned horsemeat into

an ice cream flavour.

I am not sure about meat ice cream flavours as a whole… it's pretty off putting to

me, but horsemeat…ergh.

Each to their own though.

No judgement!

9 - Toilet Slippers So, these are slippers that are solely worn

in the toilet.

The Japanese culture is pretty different to western culture in many ways, including shoe

etiquette.

In Japanese homes, outdoor shoes are left in a special transitionary room, and indoor

slippers are worn, however the indoor slippers are different to the toilet slippers.

These are left out in homes, and household dwellers and guests alike are supposed to

wear them when entering the lav.

If you forget to take them off and walk around a Japanese home in toilet slippers, you will

be mercilessly mocked.

8 - Expensive, Funky Shaped Melons Ohhhh haaaai there 27 thousand dollar melon!

It had better be delicious!

Speciality fruit is hella expensive in Japan, with some fruits considered luxury items.

Fruit farmers in Japan spend many laborious hours cultivating fruits for consumption.

They aim to make crazy things like square watermelons or aesthetically totally perfect

pieces of fruit.

This strawberry is the size of a tennis ball and costs over 4 thousand dollars.

This bunch of bright red ruby grapes sells for 800 bucks a bunch, but in 2016, a pair

of premium Hokkaido Cantaloupe's sold for 27 thousand 240 dollars.

That is insane.

I personally tend to by the misshapen fruit in the grocery store because I feel sorry

for it.

Still delicious, just much cheaper!

7 - Baby Mop Like, fair, I guess.

If honey is going to be crawling around the floor anyway, they may as well make themselves

useful, although a few people are up in arms about it.

Also….the commercial is genius.

6 - Arguably, this hare-brained Japanese invention creates as many problems as it solves….we

have an Armpit fan Thanko's electric armpit clip on cooler

fan is a fan you clip on your shirt sleeves to cool your underarms on a hot day.

It is battery operated and quiet so that no one will hear the tiny fans at work.

Pit sweat, be gone!

The only problem is that, sure, people may not hear the fans, but they are likely to

see them clipped on to your apparel.

Plus… they only really work for short sleeved items…

Maybe just…wear black instead?

5 - Hello Kitty Contact Lenses There is something pretty sinister about these

Japanese Hello Kitty Contact Lenses!

Eyes are….well…eyes…so what is Hello Kitty doing there!

These 58 dollar lenses are popular with teenage girls in Japan…imagine looking a 14 year

old girl in the eye and seeing they were pink and filled with tiny cats.

Have you ever been on the subway and thought…like…I really need to rest my chin.

No, never, right?

None the less, the Subway Chin Rest is a thing and it is here at number 4

I guess the idea here is to allow you to sleep standing up on a long journey home.

The problem is, is that even though it is aimed to give you a place to rest when there

is no place to sit, it takes up a reasonable amount of room itself.

Also….trains are jerky, sleeping on the chin rest is all very well and good, until

the train gets bumpy or turns.

Also… like… what is the world coming to if we have to sleep using chin rests on the

subway.

Bed…people.

Bed bed bed.

Freaky, but I am all about this, we have a Lonely Persons Pillow at number three

Awwwah.

If you need a hug, but there is no one to give you a cuddle, you can buy this lonely

persons' pillow… which…

ow.

It is basically a pillow in a shirt with an arm to put around yourself.

Some weirder and more expensive versions of these pillows come complete with a heartbeat.

That is kinda sad, but also kind of cute, however, the version for men is a lot freakier.

Men seem to have taken to buying a pair of disembodied thighs to sleep on…often called

the Lady Leg Pillow.

The leggy pillow comes complete with a miniskirt in black or red and flesh like kneely stumps

to lean on.

The inventor of the lady lap said what could be better than a pack-away lap to soothe those

occasional bouts of homesickness.

Taking a darker turn at number 2…..Japan has A Suicide Forest

In mount Fuji's shadow, lays a dark, scary place.

Aokigahara forest is 13.5 square kilometres and home to a lot of sad stories, for this

is what is known as Japan's Suicide forest.

This forest, for some reason, is the most popular suicide destination in the world.

Some say at least 100 people a year kill themselves here.

Freaky and very sad.

Okay, bringing it back up to freaky and kinda happy, we have the Japanese Penis Festival

at number 1 In April, Kawasaki celebrates The Festival

of the Steel Phallus.

It is a celebration of the penis and fertility, during which portable penis shrines are paraded

down streets and revellers wear pink wave penis memorabilia, people can even light Penis

Candles.

There also some pretty graphic Penis lollipops…and there is no age restriction on consuming them.

So…Japan!

Aside from the suicide forest, this list makes me really want to go there!

CHINA has ramped up pressure on Japan after the communist state sent warships to disputed

islands in the South China Sea.

The tensions are centred on the uninhabited, but strategically important, Senkaku Islands,

which are controlled by Japan.

Beijing has long demanded the islands come under its control – setting up the stage

for a massive clash between the Asian superpowers.

Relations between Japan and China plunged to new lows in 2012 when Tokyo "nationalised"

many of the islets.

Tensions were strained further over Japan's plans to open an exhibition highlighting its

rights to the isles.

Zack Cooper, a senior fellow for the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, claimed

China is being halted from launching a major attack due to Tokyo's military alliance

with Washington.

Copper said: "If the US-Japan alliance did not exist, the Chinese would be pushing much

harder.

"Both countries know that given the scale and pace of China's military modernisation,

it's just a matter of time before China is able to outclass Japan in most areas of

the military competition."

US President Donald Trump has vowed to protect Japan from any attack.

It has, however, not stopped China from sending submarines and warships to the islands.

Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said: "For some time now, some countries

have used the pretext of freedom of navigation to bring their planes and fleets near the

South China Sea.

"Actually, I think this is behaviour that has threatened the sovereignty of South China

Sea countries."

China and Russia THREATEN Japan after 'enforcing' claim to South China Sea with military

MILITARY threats have been made by China and Russia towards Japan by sending aircraft and

naval vessels into Japanese territory as the dispute over the South China Sea rages on.

Tensions have been rising as China has become more aggressive in its territorial claims

in the South China Sea.

The Communist State has disputes with five separate countries over several islands and

waters in the South China Sea that they claim to control.

At the heart of the feud between China and Japan is a dispute over the Senkaku Islands.

The Senkaku Islands are a group of uninhabited islands under Japanese control, but that are

claimed by China.

Beijing calls the land the Diaoyu Islands.

Richard Weitz, a senior fellow and the director of the Center for Political-Military Analysis

at the Hudson Institute, has explained that China wants "to enforce their claims"

by ensuring foreign planes acknowledge its capability to control airspace and the waters

of contested territory.

He also said that Russia is motivated by "monitoring US military activity in the country".

Russia's conflict with Japan also concerns the Kuril Islands.

The Kuril Islands were historically part of Japan and were taken by the USSR in the final

days of the World War II.

Zack Cooper, a senior fellow for the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, has

claimed that China are being prevented from being more bold by the the US-Japan alliance

and the superiority of the Japan Self-Defence Forces (JSDF).

The US is obliged to defend Japan if it is ever attacked by a foreign nation.

Cooper said.

He also said: "Both countries know that given the scale and pace of China's military

modernisation, it's just a matter of time before China is able to outclass Japan in

most areas of the military competition."

While China, Taiwan and Vietnam all claim the South China Sea's islands belong to

them, US military officials have long argued the region should be open for other nations

to travel through.

China has previously described US decisions to sail through the waters as behaviour that

"threatened the sovereignty of the South China Sea countries".

In September last year Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Lu Kang said: "For some time now,

What do I need to know when I order or buy food in Japan? - Duration: 10:28.

Hey konnichiwa this is episode 5 who cares

I have to say this lesson is not going to be much about content but it's

Japanese in general but I'm pretty sure this is essential when you want to buy

food here or anywhere in Japan so what are we gonna learn today counter words

or josushi in Japanese it's really really annoying and I don't like it

because it's complicated like in English unless you're talking about

uncountable nouns you can just say one burger as in that one burger Guy Fieri

is munching or 3 boobs or 666 Slipknot fans but when you count things in

Japanese you have to use this thing called Josusahi after numbers like

ichimai, nihon, roppyakurokujurokko. And if you don't understand

ichi, ni roppyakurokujuroku, I'm not going to review what ichi and ni,

and roppyaku rokujuroku is because I already taught you you can just go back

to whatever the previous episode is probably episode 4 before watch this

learn numbers in Episode four. the purpose of this channel is to help you

be fxxxxx in Kansai so I'll teach you josushi or counter words related to

eating. first it's hon personally I think this is the

most essential josushi because when you order takoyaki they ask you how

many toothpicks you need like つまようじなんぼんいります？ and if they don't ask

you or don't give you any to the specs don't go back there

okay they're not good people and their takoyaki

probably would taste like sxxt by the way in Kansai at least they

always give you pairs of toothpicks but even if you're single don't get offended

TWICE receive their 3rd invitation to perform at Japan's 'Music Station'

TWICE have received their third invitation to perform at Japans Music Station!.

The program, airing on TV Asahi, is Japans representative music show.

TWICE first performed on Music Station shortly after the release of their Japanese Best album #TWICE back on June 30, 2017,.

as the first Korean artist since BoA, who performed in 2015.

TWICE were also invited to the end-of-year celebration Music Station Super Live 2017 alongside BTS on December 22, 2017.

For their third Music Station appearance,.

TWICE will be performing on February 2, just before the release of their 2nd Japanese single Candy Pop! The song was released online in Japan back on January 12, topping music charts.
