Jim one of our students Darlene emailed and asked that we talk about this thing

called overwhelm and how does it happen and how do we get out of it.

So overwhelm. You just avoid everything in life -become an introvert -you don't talk to people you

stay away and it's easy. Go live in the mountain in a cave. Easy. Easy. You can do that. Now what else should we talk

about? So when I what I notice about overwhelm is it's the external

environment that creeps into a person's space. It's kind of like it water in the

cracks of a sidewalk and then it freezes -yeah -and it cracks the sidewalk so many times

it seeps in to places that we're not even conscious of. Yeah so in a lot

of ways it's just too much without noticing it's too much. It's too much so

in social situations maybe and loud music situations it can be it can feel

overwhelming when there's all that external stimulation. Yeah so what's the

what's also a nature of a person that gets into overwhelm? Not a good or bad

but a lot of times I watch doers. I've got to do or I'm gonna make them happy

I've got to do it right. Whatever format that is and there's no there's no alarm

there's no trigger that says oh wait I got a reset I got to stop I got to

ground I just got a walk outside for a minute that reset button. So they're in

it before they even notice they're in it. I think so I've noticed that with people

they just know so why are you doing all that there's probably multiple reasons.

There's no why. There's no why. Yeah so it's it's the doer it's a person

who doesn't have really good boundaries sometimes. It's a person who gives up their

seniority. It's a person that is doesn't want to disappoint other people so they

keep doing or they take on things. They put themselves into situations where

there's a should. Many times. I should go to this party. Yeah or I or I'm expected.

Mm-hmm. Or they'll be disappointed if I don't. So

I think there's a lot of different circumstances that people get into.

But I know that if you if you're that kind of a person it pay it has a lot of

value to basically recognize I'm that kind of a person. Nothing good or bad and -well recognize

that's the situation -yeah -that I have these feelings in. Or I find myself in. Yeah.

Or and I just had an experience I'm overwhelmed. Gee I'm doing this again I'm

getting tired of this is kind of the response that's oh okay well what did

you do to get yourself in that situation. It's like we were talking to that

elementary school teacher the other day and she was saying that she's retired

now but during the last few years of teaching she would come home exhausted. Yeah.

And overwhelmed. Yeah and in her case she didn't have any

tools. No. And she was wanting to do it right. And she thought she got home and

was tired because she was on her feet all day. Yeah. But when in actuality she

later recognized as we were talking to her it was because she was responsible

for these thirty little humans. Yeah yeah and and had an obligation to make them

right. Whatever that means so so there's a stress level that's put

on that that overwhelm. And in her case kids never let up right you know so it's

24-hours go home get some sleep come back do it again the next day. But I

think one of the fundamental pieces is tools. Goes back to tools. If you have a

sense of your grounding you have a sense present time you have a clear

understanding of your Rose and kind of this point of delineation I'm this is me

and that's my experience. And go into the situation that you know you're

vulnerable around prepared already grounded already have you Rose up. So

when you're in that noisy environment you're better able to manage it. Yeah so

set your energy before you go in and get clear about this is what I'm paying

attention to going in. That will all mitigate that overwhelming thing. And I also think that even

even people who have tools or on some spiritual path when they get overwhelmed

there's a there may be a level of not quite guilt but like oh I have tools I

shouldn't be getting overwhelmed. Yeah I should have done this -right you know I'm

not being masterful because I'm now exhausted and in this situation. But you

know and for people with tools and even people kind of now playing in that light

body space with lots of tools lots of awareness and consciousness. You still

have pictures you still have those experiences where I'm uncertain about or

I'm not capable of or I don't think I can perform and much of that is my mom

dad teacher minister said and I haven't cleaned that pattern out yet.

So sometimes an experience like overwhelm stop and say where does this

come from. Not as beating yourself up but you know what is the source of this? Who

am I pleasing? What am I why am I doing this? How do I what do I want from this?

Am am i able to be accomplished on my terms based on or on based on somebody

else's terms. How am I playing this game out? So I think asking questions not from

-beating yourself up -what's wrong with me is actually a very valuable -yeah -process. And make it be okay that when I'm in a

social situation of 20 people or more that I start to feel a little

uncomfortable so recognized that's what happens don't beat yourself up for it

and then prepare with the tools before you walk into that party. And let's just

take that situation too a lot of times you don't have to be the center of attention.

They may not be but because you don't have to be maybe at that point

stop being engaged just kind of be quiet and start to pay attention to you and

what is going on here that I'm feeling this particular way. So be introspective

you know it's the thing is you think well everybody's noticing actually

nobody's noticing. No people are just in their own thing. Absolutely and you just get quiet and

and kind of really notice you in this in this process. So but overwhelm there's

a whole other side of it let's touch on this the energetic side of the world

today. You know you the collective

consciousness the collective nature of humanity right now is in a disconnect.

The energies of structure and dependability and I came from here and

this is how it works and this is my truth that's not holding water for you

know the many many people. So there's a the ground is shaking under the feet

of humanity right now and some are panicking or fearful or scared or fill

in the blank without having any idea what's going on with me. And so you're

also feeling that banging of that energy on the edge of your energy field -which -causing

some of that. Which causes overwhelm. Which causes overwhelm. You know

without going here if you listen to Fox News on this side or CNN on this side

it's astonishing the same exact sentence spoken by somebody whose name will go

unnoted unspoken it's like it's -night and day -two different night day. And so you get all

this amping up of energies that have nothing to do with you

many times. And part of managing overwhelm I think is knowing when to

step away like you said be quiet in that party just stand and observe. Yeah. Know

when you when is healthy for you to step away and say I'm done right now I

need to take care of me. And there's a phrase in bicycle riding that says

drink when you're not thirsty and eat when you're not hungry

because you're out there you know going 50 60 hundred mile rides like like I do

and you haven't drank enough or eaten enough you hit the wall and at that

point you way you're way past the point of you know finishing that bike ride. Yeah. So

in this case start to notice indicators of let me just kind of take a breath and

ground myself and step aside and kind of enjoy this rather than engaging in it.

Yeah. You know we had a woman the other day where we went to that party the other

night and she stepped into the conversation and began to talk about the

governor's race and the two candidates and this and it was like wow where did this come from? She was so revved

up. Really revved up. And but very intelligent so it was worth listening to

her point of view but this amp on in her space was was kind of fascinating. But it

yet it was like yeah I'm interested but I'm not interested that much. Yeah. And

had to go drink more. No that's not what happened at all I don't think anyway.

So overwhelm is something to pay attention to particularly in these days.

These shifts are happening these experiences that you're used to being in

place many of them aren't going to be there to be in place in future times. So more

and more it's important to be masterful of your own personal space.

Managing who you are. Managing who you are. Yeah so so it's it's how do you

choose as you know always pay attention to you and what is it that you want to

experience in the situation that I'm in. And when you go home did you get it or

did you get overwhelmed? So why did you go to that party what would you like to have

learned what was your reason? Be clear about the reason and then

measure it against the experience you're having. So that's all I know I think on

that topic. Maybe we should go clean the house now.

For the party we're going to have. Oh yeah so all those people. Twenty people coming

over to have a party. Absolutely. No I don't think so. No. Have a nice morning.

Self-guided Moose & Caribou Hunting in Alaska: Episode 2 - Two Magnificent Bulls! - Duration: 15:21.

Okay, here we are. We flew in yesterday and it was sunny,

it was beautiful weather as you can see the weather is pretty cool this morning

as well. Got a bit of cloud moving in over the back there the top of the

mountains and there's camp, but at the minute everything is set fair and dandy. So, the

plan this is morning we're going to go up on top of that hill up there and sit and

do some glassing and see what we can see. Got a little bit of glass in last night,

after we set camp up. We didn't see anything, but it's just a waiting game that's great catch you later.

and so it's morning of

day two. Busy day yesterday, getting into country, getting camp set up.

It's been worth the effort, we're in this spectacular valley. Big mountains on both

sides huge field of view right the way down from top to bottom. It's pretty cold

last night, hopefully that's got things moving

around, but what's great for us today as the weather is still dry. Little bit

overcast, we may expect some rain later on this afternoon, but for now it's nice

and dry and it's stil.l I think the plan is to just get up onto the ridge on the

right-hand side of us up here, see if we can see anything up there you've got a

great view all the way up and down. We're not too far from camp, so we

don't need to venture too far, we don't want to go scenting the area and putting

too much disturbance on the ground that we're gonna be hunting. There's a lot of

caribou tracks here, so I've seen a couple of moose tracks just upon the top.

So, yeah things are looking pretty good it's just great to be here really, you

know it's living a lot of time, effort, energy and getting all this put together

and to finally see it here we're on the ground and we're about to go hunting, it's pretty

exciting. So, full day ahead so I suppose we better get to it.

As usual eagle-eyed Wildey is the first to spot game. High on the mountain side

opposite from camp is a grizzly sow and two cubs meandering across the tundra.

At over a thousand yards away we take a closer look through the Hawke Endurance

ED Spotting Scope and get some great footage of this magnificent apex

predator and the next generation that will undoubtedly dominate this area.

There are estimated to be around 30,000 grizzly bears roaming Alaska's interior.

These voracious predators have had a significant impact on the moose and

caribou populations, prompting the Alaska Fish and Game Department to increase

quotas and lengthen the hunting season to bring balance back to the region.

As the sow moves on to new hunting grounds so must we. As we begin the arduous trek

up the ridge behind camp and across the plateau beyond. Today, is about exploring

and trying to find the best vantage point from which to survey the hunting

area. It's all very new to us and we take our time to figure out the optimum route

through the tundra. This is where it helps to have an experienced hunting

partner like Steve to discuss the various options and formulate a plan.

Once in our elevated position the entire valley opens up in front of us.

So, first morning out on the hunt second day camp of course Steve and Mark have been in

field for an extra day waiting for us to come in and already we've got action.

Steve first thing this morning after your first coffee mate, yeah found a nice

grizzly sow on the mountain over there and she got two cubs so we spent about

an hour watching her go backwards and forwards and then all of a sudden must

have been a bore up there or something, protecting the cubs she just bolted

straight over screaming we lost sight of it it's good to see some animals out in

the mountains so early, so we took kind of a walk up after breakfast came to

this high spot beautiful sunshine, the conditions are fantastic winds are now

favored kind of blowing from the side that we can't get to over towards us and

within what five minutes of sitting down Wildey spots for another caribou. So,

it's handy having you along really. The only reason you brought me, certainly not for

your company my intellect or conversation. Yeah, that's actually two

bulls down there, one of them looks like it's just in the process of finishing it

shed, its kind of clear at the top of this bit red and there's another one

kind of with the PAR nation at the top. So, they're probably around 1200-1300

yards away something like that. So, gonna head over there it's even get a bit

closer I get up on the high ground downwind of them and see what we can see.

But, so far it's been a productive day. Mark's got a caribou tag, I've got to

caribou tag, so it would be nice to get this wrapped up by lunchtime,

yeah, yeah, yeah, no messing around. So, I supposed Steve we better get over there.

With the possibility of doubling up on the two caribou Bulls there's a

renewed sense of optimism and a purpose in our stride. We pause periodically to

get our bearings the ground continually changes shape as we progress with new

ridges nulls and ravines appearing from nowhere. The weather may be beautiful, but

it makes the track a lot tougher as we struggle to control our body temperature.

Our Frontier Gear Frame Packs contain the essentials such as food, water, extra

clothing and survival equipment, but they still weigh in around 45 pounds and you

can definitely feel the extra weight. As our elevation increases so does the

quality of our view. From here we can formulate our approach into the caribou

which have disappeared from view and are evading our advances.

So, we've had a nice little walk this afternoon. It's about midday, of course we started off saw the

caribou just behind us here. The winds been swirling around we're

trying to find vantage points, but once you get into the ground it looks very

different from it does way back at a vantage point. We've had to make a slightly

different plan and get to higher ground, the wind keeps swirling and changing in

these valleys down here. One minute it's in your face, next time it's coming from

the side of you and then worse still explode from behind you, but we've made

some good headway, Steve. Yeah, well good headway, we haven't covered that much

ground, it started 800 yards as the crow flies and about three miles up and down.

That's the way it is around here and we've made a plan and we do you know we've got

the high ground just below the mountain and so we're gonna push a bit further

around aren't we? Yeah, we are. That's a difficulty, here what looks flat from a

mile away suddenly turns out to have lots of undulations and there might only

be 20 feet high, but that's enough to cloak completely a caribou. So, the best

thing really is trying to stick with the high ground as best possible. You

actually do get a pretty good view, the only downside is you miss outside of

some of these inclines so if they do walk up the valley a little bit closer to

you might not see them. But, I think we've got a really good opportunity of looking

down some of these ravines behind us, hopefully get the right side of the wind

and then work our way back to camp and I

think that''ll be a pretty good day's work.

Good idea, I suppose we gotta get moving.

As we get closer to the mountains, the

incline increases dramatically. Whilst the vegetation isn't too problematic, the

sheer physical exertion is beginning to take its toll. But, every yard we climb

brings us closer to spotting the caribou, which are almost certainly laying down

in the heat of the afternoon Sun whilst we toil on the slopes of the mountain.

We may be weary, but must also keep our wits about us. The terrain can be treacherous

and a sprained ankle or worse still a broken leg could expose us to a long dangerous night in the tundra.

The view from here is simply breathtaking and

it's been well worth the effort. Now we can scan the area ahead of us in detail

and spot the caribou and agree the optimal approach.

I take the opportunity for a brief siesta, before the afternoon's exertions.

But, there's no rest for the wicked, we spot a brief glimpse of one of the bulls

and quickly make our way down the mountain towards the river.

We estimate it will take us around an hour to reach the area, which means that time is

against us if you want to harvest the bulls and then reach camp before

nightfall. There's a feeling of tension and urgency in the air, but we must be

patient and careful in our approach. The wind and the valley is constantly

swirling and it would take but a whiff of our scent to send the bulls beyond our reach.

We drop packs as we approach the ridge beyond which we believe the

caribou are grazing. We need to be light on our feet and ready to take a shot at

a moment's notice. My sixth sense tells me were closed and I spot one of the

Bulls grazing ahead and signal its location to the guys.

This is undoubtedly one of the bulls we spotted earlier in the day. Its distinctly shape antlers

and beautiful white neck er unmistakable

We must now establish the location of the other bull, which is almost certainly

in the immediate vicinity.

And there he is, just a few yards between them this really is the perfect

opportunity. both mature balls and both in safe shooting positions. We move into

position using our Vanguard B 62 sticks to provide an elevated shooting position over the willow

We must now wait for them to rise.

The first bull is aware of our presence and stands

As mark loads, I wait patiently to the second bull to make his move.

Mark's first shot connects perfectly, but my double longshot didn't immediately

anchor the bull and so I put a second one in to bring him down.

With both bulls down, we gather our packs and head down to pay our respects to the fallen game.

Our first job is to take the bulls and complete our harvest tickets. This is an

essential part of the management program here in Alaska with every animal

harvested accounted for including where and when it was taken.

My bull is younger it is still clearing the velvet from its antlers. It has a dark hide and is quite

large in the body. Marks has a beautiful rack and spectacular hide. I'm sure both

will make for great eating. Our next job is to get the guts out of the bualls as

quickly as possible so the carcasses don't spoil in the afternoon sun. With

the bulls tagged and cleaned, we mark the position on the Garmin inReach GPS and

make our way back to camp.

So. I suppose you could call that a pretty epic first

day in the field. You know, we're pretty tired after coming in yesterday and

setting up camp so we thought well we just nip out for half an hour have a bit

of a glass around, a bit of a scam and as it always happens we find two boys. Yeah,

so Wildey managed to see bulls run at about 800 yards away, maybe, maybe

about that and I thought oh well we'll just go a little bit further and then a

bit further and then we went. So we started off up on the right-hand side

here up on these high points and then we came down into the valley, now we lost

sight of the caribou for a little bit because we were kind of in in there in

the thick of things so he went up to higher ground sat and glass for a bit

and if you're patient eventually things come to you.

We knew the animals were down there the last thing you want to do is get in

there spoil it with scent and worse still you could kind of bump something that's

pretty close to you. It's always be patient and given enough time something

will stand up and it did. Soon as the sun went in the cloud came over, boom it was

like flicking the switch. So, he saw one stood out with a really

white mane beautiful-looking bull, so we thought I will kind of make a move on it

so they came down kind of tried to outflank it, the wind was in our

favor it's funny enough it's changed now. It's playing straight down the valley

again, so when was in our face so it kind of trying to outflank it

we saw it move into behind a ridge. Got up on top of the ridge and now we're

kind of deciding what to do and lo and behold moved in closer and that was

the other one sat next to him so there were less than five-six yards apart

about six yards, yeah. Fast asleep both of them. Yeah, so then the

waiting game again, waiting for him to get up and we give it a bit of a whistle.

We tried all sorts of animal noises, we're just not scary enough I think, so

they were very uninteresting asleep standing up there for a minute. Yeah, so

quite kind of strange behaviour both us and from the animals themselves

and then we got a little bit closer and they both stood up. Mark's fabulous

neck shot dropped his one on the spot. Mine took a step forward as a shot it's

a the first shot was a little bit far back run up onto the top of the bank

what about 15 yards maybe and the next shot brought him down. So, very happy

with kills. They're right out there up on top of that ridge, which is going to take

some getting out tomorrow, but otherwise it's been a you know a pretty incredible

day, yeah the boys done good, good shooting, good walking, good hunting.

Yeah, in a good day and it's a bit of deja vu as well because we had this from

self and Wildley last year when we came and Mark was guiding us that time, we got

to in at the same time as well, that was 400 yards, actually this time

you know a little bit close by one 100 or 100 and something like that.

So, it's seen a lot a lot closer, but you know an epic first day and we were

really weren't expecting it. Trying to eased into it,

so just want to say congratulations to Mark first, thank you.

He's normally getting people into animals his first time he's

been out to come out hunting, which is great. Thank you very much

to Wildey for spotting them for us again. Yeah, no problem. You can come again.

So it's fine I'm looking forward to packing him out tomorrow.

yeah, tonight Widley;s going to do a bit of knife work and I'm gonna do

carrying, because I'm terrible with knives, all I can do is lift heavy things

for long distances. So, got a brew, got dinner on the go, yeah early night and

Capacitive sensors (self and projected) in Mi Band 3 - Duration: 6:14.

I am going to show you the teardown of a Mi Band 3 fitness tracker.

The Mi band 3 is a wearable device that tracks exercise, sleep, heart rate,

and display the data on the LCD, and on the mobile phone.

It has a touchscreen user interface, and by employing capacitive sensing technology,

the entire electronics can be sealed in an enclosed waterproof capsule.

From my experience, with a single charge the device can last for more than three weeks,

and so the power efficiency is very impressive.

But this video is not about promoting the Mi Band products.

As you know I'm especially interested in the theory of capacitive sensing,

and having made a few videos on this subject, I want to show you how the theory

and the guidelines match up to this real-world successful design.

First, let's take a look at the teardown process.

The Mi Band 3 is a completely sealed device

not meant to be opened at all time, so the only way to open it is to force-open the capsule.

To make sure that I didn't damage the electronics inside,

I used the sawing method, and lucky enough, the device was still in working condition

after I opened it.

At the back of the front cover, I located the electrode for the touch button,

the touch screen for detecting the vertical and the horizontal swipes.

After removing the cover I realized that the sensing electrodes are all

implemented on a piece of flexible printed circuit.

And to my surprise, the touchscreen doesn't require any ITO layer to cover the viewing window.

That's to say, this method is able to achieve swipes on touchscreen

without actually using any touchscreen.

Many people told me that if I want to increase the

sensitivity of a touch button I should increase the electrode area.

But this concept is based on a simple parallel plate capacitor model,

and is no longer valid on a portable device . Here I soldered a big copper plate to enlarge the

touch button, and by the parallel plate capacitor model, the button should become super-sensitive.

But as it turns out the button cannot detect any touch at all.

Worse still, when I tried to hold the device, the device had a

false touch detection.

The signal has shifted to the wrong place,

to the device body instead of the touch electrode.

As mentioned in my other videos, the self capacitive sensor uses two plates,

the touch electrode and the ground plane

to sense the object.

In terms of percentage of change, the object generates more signal

on the smaller plates than on the bigger plates.

So if the ground plane is small as in this portable device, increasing the touch electrode

will not help in increasing the sensitivity, but reducing it instead.

Ok, let me open up the device further.

The device uses many components and packed everything into a small PCB and

forms a beautiful artifact.

Among all the components, I'm particularly interested in the

capacitive sensing IC. The sensor IC was hidden underneath the FPC,

and I had to remove it carefully in order not to damage the device.

And I was happy to be able to see clearly the part number Azoteq IQS 2 6 6.

From the downloaded datasheet, this IC offers one self capacitive channel for the

touch button, 2x3 projected channels for the trackpad.

The projected electrodes are normally placed in rows and columns and occupy the whole sensing area,

but in Mi Band design they are placed at the four edges.

It is very impressive that

this method actually works for sensing swipes, and it saves material costs.

In a portable device, the main processor has the privilege of going to sleep,

but the capacitive sensor has to constantly scan for the user inputs.

Hence its current consumption is of ultimate importance to the overall battery life.

Therefore I wanted to see it for myself the actual current consumption.

But because the impedance of the meter is quite significant,

I had to add an e cap to smooth the voltage fluctuation resulted from the pulsing current.

The measurement showed that during the idle mode, the whole device

drew less than 20 micro amps. So of course the current consumption of the

capacitive sensor is less than 20 micro amps because other devices are also

sharing parts of this 20 micro amps.

A look at the datasheet

reveals that the current could be as little as 6 micro amps, and no wonder the

battery can last for up to three weeks.

Once when I worked in the restaurant (as hall staff)

A customer came up to pay at the register

And handed me a 2000 yen bill

Up until that point I didn't even know that this bill existed

So when I received it, at first I thought it was fake

And I just stood there silent for about 3 seconds

But I couldn't exactly ask the cusomer if it was fake

So I decided to recieve the bill

And thought that if it happened to be fake

It couldn't be helped even if my manager got angry at me

So yeah, that's a thing that happened

Get Your Life Together: Habits & Self Care Challenge - Duration: 9:12.

Hey guys!

Welcome back to Lavendaire.

Today we're doing another Get Your Life Together challenge, and we're focusing on habits.

First off, I'd like to thank Care/of for sponsoring this video.

The focus is on building positive habits and the most important thing is consistency.

I know that I struggle with consistency with my habits,

and I'm sure a lot of you out there struggle with that too, so I thought I'd do this challenge

to see if we can do our most important positive habits every single day for at least five days.

One of my favorite books that I always mention is called The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson.

And in that book, the author talks about how important it is to be consistent

and take small, consistent actions every single day to take you towards your goal.

So it's better to do something small every single day, rather than working in spurts –

like doing a lot at a time, taking a break for a month or two months, and then doing it again.

What I'm trying to say is: If you carve out time to do your habits every single day

and be consistent about them, you might not feel like you're changing a lot day-to-day,

but if you zoom out and see the bigger picture,

you're going to see some major changes in your life.

So consider it an investment in yourself:

investing 15 minutes to meditate here, 15 minutes to journal there.

Just know that it will have a lasting impact in your life.

So this week, I'm going to pick four habits to focus on

and I'm going to track in them in my Habit Tracker in my Artist of Life Workbook.

So I'm going to focus on doing morning pages (or just journaling), meditating,

taking vitamins every day, and reading every evening.

I also track some other habits, but I'm going to consider those bonuses

and focus just on my four main habits done every single day for this week.

So let's start the challenge.

Morning!

It's Day 1 on my get on my habits, consistency, whatever week.

I am making my way to go to yoga.

I was kind of in a rush this morning

because I don't want to be late, so going there right now.

But that is good.

I actually went to exercise yesterday as well, so it's the second day.

I'm happy about that.

Yoga session: good.

It's like 2:30 right now.

I just finished work, but I'm going to commit to reading ten pages.

And I'm going to do it here because Wilson's sleeping in the bedroom.

Good morning!

So I have lunch plans today and I thought I overslept.

I thought I slept past my alarm.

So when I woke up, I was like, "Oh my god, I woke up too late."

And I checked my phone, and it happened to be three minutes right before my alarm was gonna go off.

So I woke up at 9:57 AM and my alarm was set to 10:00 AM.

So that is a win on the sleep side.

And now I have a few extra moments to do my morning routine and get those habits in!

So let's do it!

Today I think I'm going to take my vitamins separately, because it was a lot at once yesterday.

So I'm going to split it up throughout the day.

I just finished lunch and I am going to take some vitamins in my car.

I think I'll do like four, whatever comes out.

That day, I went to Wilson's office to do some work regarding the workbook,

and also help him bring his plants to his office that day.

I ended work pretty late, but I wanted to commit to my reading habits

so I started reading around 2:00 AM.

I realize now that I have to end work earlier,

and this is what I was trying to work on last week with my sleep schedule.

I'm still working on it: stopping work earlier, getting to get earlier,

so I then have time to read and then go to sleep at a normal time.

So today I woke up late and I didn't feel very motivated or positive.

I just felt kind of like, "Ugh, I want to be a potato today."

So I didn't feel like vlogging.

I just did a live video on YouTube though,

and then now I'm going to take time to journal and meditate and get some work done.

Good morning, it's Saturday.

We actually work up at 8:30 AM and went to a movie screening at 9:00 AM,

but now we're gonna get lunch and I'm going to take my vitamins.

So Day 5, thankfully I had time to take my vitamins, journal, and meditate in the morning.

And that day was really fun since I went out to this new foodie museum popup that my friends started.

And we just had a lot of fun exploring that space, taking photos.

I was actually looking forward to ending my night early

so that I could read and practice Chinese.

I just found a new spark of motivation and passion for it,

which is something that I haven't felt in a while.

It was Sunday night, so I also had time to put on a sheet mask

and give myself a little extra skin care that night.

At the end of this five day challenge, I can say that this week was easier than last week.

It's easier for me to incorporate consistent daily habits, than it is to wake up earlier every day.

But I still see how essential the sleep part is because if I sleep earlier, I can wake up earlier

and have more time for that morning routine and all those habits in the morning.

The habit that I was most excited about bringing back into my life was reading every evening.

This is something that I used to do last year or maybe a couple years ago,

and I stopped doing it because I got busy and I would just work late without reading.

But bringing back reading into my life has inspired me again.

I love learning new things and exploring and I even got back into practicing Chinese and learning languages.

It's really nice to be able to carve out time for my own personal growth,

because I think I get the most out of reading new books, discovering new things.

Another thing I realized was a challenge this year was living with my boyfriend,

because living with someone else with their own sleep cycle and habits and stuff,

it's hard to compromise with your own.

So for example, I used to love reading in bed before going to sleep,

but if my boyfriend's sleeping earlier than me, then you know,

when I'm in bed, the lights have to be off and I can't really read.

So I think that's why I stopped reading at night.

And so this week I had to kind of reformat my habit.

I don't have to read in bed.

Instead, I can read in the living room or at my desk,

or somewhere else while my boyfriend's sleeping.

So this week, I would say the challenge was a success for me.

I learned what criteria I need to get all my habits consistently done every single day,

how to kind of reshape and reformat things to fit them in.

My name is Chuck Glass. I am the owner and head instructor at reality martial arts.

We're here at DeSale today to demonstrate a self-defense seminar in different

techniques that help you in case you're being assaulted or attacked

or hurt by somebody else. So we had a lot of good technique today,

had a good group. Hope that people actually learned a few things. Looked

like they had fun. It was supposed to be a two-hour seminar, we're here for three.

I could do it all day. Definitely very important, not just for anyone in the

community but especially for college and high school kids school kids to be aware

of self-defense.

Adani confirms it will self-finance Queensland mine - Duration: 4:30.

 Mining giant Adani will fund the entire cost of its controversial Queensland coal mine project by itself and says major works are imminent

 The project has struggled to attract financial backers, but now Adani Mining chief executive Lucas Dow says they will move forward alone with their Carmichael mine in the state's Galilee Basin

 The announcement in Mackay comes after Adani last month said it was scaling back the size and scope of the project, from a 60 million tonnes a year $16

5 billion mega-mine, to a more manageable 10 to 15 million tonnes a year costing around $2 billion

 Mr Dow said that scale-back decision meant the project could finally move forward after eight years of development

 "We have already invested $3.3 billion in Adani's Australian businesses, which is a clear demonstration of our capacity to deliver a financing solution for the revised scope of the mine and rail project," he said in a statement

 The project has been fiercely opposed by environmental groups who argue the thermal coal that will be extracted from the mine will contribute to global warming

 They also argue it will have a devastating impact on the local water table. Adani still has to be given final environmental and planning approvals by the state government, and the decision could prove difficult for Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, who has always said the mine needs to stack up financially

 "Today's announcement removes any doubt as to the project stacking up financially," Mr Dow said Adani's announcement came as much of the state was on bushfire alert, due to temperatures well above average which had lasted some days

 Kelly O'Shanassy from the Australian Coservation Foundation said the state and federal governments now need to make an important decision about the mine

 "Burning the coal from the Adani mine and the broader Galilee Basin will be terribly damaging for our climate

" she said. However, the Queensland Resources Council said it would deliver money and jobs to the state

 "This is great news for Queensland and great news for regional Queensland in particular, because every new resources project benefits all of us," QRC head Ian Macfarlane said

 Adani could also open the entire Galilee Basin to exploration, with mine projects from GVK/Hancock and the China Stone already given preliminary approval

 The company last month said it would not seeking any state or federal money for the start of the mine project construction

 "There has been a lot of misinformation and speculation that we need taxpayer money to be able to build the mine and rail," Mr Dow said in a statement

 "This is absolutely not the case; this project will stand on its own two feet." -with AAP

Self Sabotaging Thoughts - Duration: 11:45.

We're going to talk about self sabotaging thoughts. If you have them, do

you want to get rid of them? How is it we can do some amazing and sometimes

unexplainable things like heal our own bodies by the power of our thought

mother's intuition the law of attraction can we really tap into our subconscious

mind can we really create our own realities it begs the question are we

novice gods

okay we are talking today about self sabotaging thoughts now if you joined me

I don't know that it was a few episodes ago I confessed that I've really been

using the law of attraction wrong even though I understand a big part of it I

haven't quite gotten my arms around the whole thing

and hopefully you can learn from my mistakes right you can do that right and

have you ever known something and not applied it right okay

well the things that I discovered was that I was attracting the I was I was

living with fear and because I had so much emotion tied to those fears that is

actually what I had manifested and what it was is I was working on a project

where I was hoping to make a connection with a large corporation and I believed

that if I did a certain thing you would actually that if I was true to myself

and lived her to myself it would actually wreck my ability to work with

corporate America and that's what manifested in my life ah super

frustrated so a few days later after getting the big no even on a meeting I

stumbled across a YouTube video that Neale Donald Walsch

did and in it he was talking about that the universe always says yes and I

thought what does that mean because Here I am two working to create this great

stuff in my life and maybe you're doing the same thing you're here because

you're working to manifest or consciously create some things in your

life and you're running into roadblocks and stumbling things and it's taking

longer that you want and you're maybe caught in one of those invisible

turnstiles where it seems like you're getting the same stuff over and over and

over again you know what I mean right you're you've experienced these things

tell me tell me I'm not alone here well one of the things that I realized

that in this invisible turnstile that I've been caught in is I've been asking

the universe for something subconsciously and the universe has been

saying yes to it and what I have been saying subconsciously

I need financial success to feel complete now and this is just kind of

like deep in my core I've had these feelings I mean I've done a lot of work

and you know anyway if you've been following the show if you checked in to

the pilot show I was very vulnerable and explained about the many failures that

I've had in in launching things that can help other people very beautiful things

beautiful films a wonderful app a great book and hasn't worked out quite the way

that I wanted and and I'm frustrated because part of me got really down on

myself thinking I must be the worst businessman in America because Here I am

I have a system for how people can consistently get happy on their own

without therapy without medication and I can't sell it to anybody

what am I doing wrong so I'm focused on this failure I'm focused on my lack of

success and I have found that with the universe always saying yes what I'm

really saying is I need financial success to feel complete and the

universe responds yes you do here's more failure here's more of the

turnstile here's more of the mess that you're in because that's where my

emotion is tied to that's what I am experiencing over and over and over

again does that make sense to you have you been caught in those kinds of

turnstiles receiving the same stuff over and over and over again well I hope some

of the things that I have learned in the last few days that as I share those with

you that you can then apply those to your life and figure out how to make

this work for you so one of the things that I stumbled upon was this idea of

learning to detach learning to detach yourself from the results you know like

I had created this belief system that I needed in order to feel complete I

needed to have financial success and so my feelings of completeness were

dependent on something that was outside of my control and because those two

things weren't meshing there was this incongruent

and I was a victim to my circumstances now I know better than that you know

better than that right you know our happiness comes from within it doesn't

come from something outside of ourselves and when we take it inside and get that

clarity and get that alignment then we get things working right but that's kind

of where I was was I had this belief system where it was outside of myself

and I needed this event to happen I needed you know this magical thing to

come in and save me and change me and help me feel complete have you done that

are you there right now what do you need in your life in order to feel complete

what do you need in order to feel successful to feel satisfied to feel

happy to feel whole do you feel like you're not enough right now you're not

skinny enough you're not smart enough you know it's you're not eloquent enough

you're not successful enough whatever you're enough is if you're feeling that

way right now what I'm learning is that we can

actually change that we can reverse-engineer it and really start

with where we want to end up and what I'm learning is this comes through this

this learning to detach ourselves from the outcome so here's what I found again

I don't know if this works yet I'm applying it in my life this is a

documentary series so you're seeing this unfold before you and hopefully you are

applying some of these things to and finding out what works and really

hopefully you'll leave some comments in the notes below so that we can learn

from what you are experiencing and from the things that you have found

successful and how you are making progress in your life so anyway learning

to detach is really letting yourself be separate from the outcome so you make

this request to the universe you make this request to God you want your life

to unfold a certain way but then you let that go and you say this is what I'd

like or something better this is what I'd like or something better and as you

do that you let go and the universe figure out what is

gonna be best for you you've got this request out there but maybe they've got

something in mind that's even better than that and rather than trying to

force this thing that's going to come exactly the way you envisioned it the

you know exactly the way you visualized it exactly the way that you know however

you are doing your manifesting that it comes across exactly that way rather

than do that you let go and you let them take care of the details and you just

you turn it over to them so again I haven't quite figured out how to do this

I recognize I need to detach and the main thing that I need to detach is my

feeling of wholeness my feeling of completeness so right now I'm working on

how do I feel whole and complete without a dependency on some outside financial

success or clients or you know whatever it is gonna prove to me that I need to

look now at what what I have what is it for you what do you need to feel whole

and complete can you have that now can you do things right now by changing your

mindset so one of the things that I have done that I came up with this morning is

I am changing my identity so getting a totally new identity I'm gonna have a

much - I'm gonna have long hair okay none of that just just having fun with

you but I'm changing how I identify myself so often I will tell myself this

repeating story I'm the worst businessman in America and

in that there's like all this evidence all this proof that shows that is

absolutely true okay I got to push that aside I have to create this different

identity and then find the evidences that that is true so what I came up with

today is rather than looking at the business side I am looking at my fruit

and so I'm looking at myself I am a tree or I am like a tree I'm a tree that

produces fruit and here is the fruit that I have created I have created

amazing beautiful short films that help encourage people I have created a the

feed your happy app that helps gay five positive psychology I've created a

book I've created an online course I'm creating this series I've created a

purpose planner all these things I'm looking at as now as my fruit and so

that's what I'm focusing on as these are the things that will help me sell stop

those self sabotaging thoughts these are the things that I'm going to focus on

that will be my new identity that as I focus on am i complete and my whole will

am i producing fruit am i producing the kind of fruit that i would like to if

the answer is yes I can feel complete you can feel complete what is it that

you're missing can you look in your life can you make an analogy a connection can

you create an identity that shows you actually have everything within you

right now now if you think about a tree when it sprouts up out of the ground

it's just really small you know it may be only this big it's very tender it

could get crushed if a boot steps on it but it has everything within it right

now to be a full grown big huge oak tree or apple tree or one of those giant

redwoods of the forest it has everything contained within it it

just needs time to grow and the nourishment there that's what you are

like you are a God in embryo you're a God and training you have everything

within you right now and as long as you focus on an identity that will continue

nurturing that you can grow in the right way to where you can be more of your

true self I hope that makes sense to you again this is a documentary series I'm

figuring stuff out as I go and I'm sharing what I learned with you so that

hopefully you can get there faster you don't have to make the same mistakes and

you can be the full expression of yourself because we need your gift we

need your voice we need your light we need you to stand up and be so you
