We use our own resources to procure

the labware that you want.

So we take the time to do that.

We barcode the labware.

We scan 100% of the barcodes that we make for you

so that you can be assured

that they'll scan in your equipment.

There will be no misreads.

We also tare weigh the labware for you as well.

And we can provide you with a customized report

for that tare weighing.

And then finally we can package it.

If you need it color-coded in certain packaging

or if you need it packaged sequentially,

no missing numbers, however you need it,

that's how we can put it together

for your application and your use.

We build trucks here. So, when I say that: we bring in the cab and chassis and we

put the gear on them to turn out a complete plow unit to a region or camp.

And that saves a significant amount of money as opposed to just going out and buying

new every time you do that.

When people think of DOT they think about the guys plowing the snow, okay,

this operation here, we don't plow snow. But we keep the equipment running for the

people that do plow snow.

What we try to come up with is solutions of problems that haven't arisen yet.

We probably start our winter operation, at least in

this facility, around August--or that's what we usually like to.

And what that means is that we're making consumable parts so we're making the

push arms, we're making the trip blocks, we're refurbishing things that they'll

use all winter long.

There's probably somewhere in the vicinity of around 90 items or so

that we create here, that we don't have to buy,

because it's more cost-effective to make it in-house.

So we're going to make sure that as much of the equipment is ready to fight snow as can be.

Recommissioning primary mental health services in Brisbane south - Duration: 3:07.

Over the last 12 months,

Brisbane South PHN has been working in partnership

with Metro South Health, Children's Health Queensland

and Queensland Health to develop a new regional strategy

that guides the way we commission mental health,

suicide prevention and alcohol and other drug services.

By reviewing key strategy documents

and world's best practice,

and speaking to a range of stakeholders,

we've identified issues that need to be addressed.

One issue we've heard is that the system

is fragmented and there doesn't seem to be a front door

people can access to get the services they need.

We also know that the system is strongly geared towards

a crisis response and eligibility framework

that isn't meeting people's needs.

Our new model focuses on the person

as the centre, surrounded by their natural supports

and broader community supports.

This model will have a strong

primary health care system supporting the person,

which includes the GP and other treatment services,

as well as specialised mental health services

for those with more complex needs.

Brisbane South PHN has worked closely

with consumers, carers and service providers,

as well as people outside of the health system,

to help shape a new way of commissioning our services.

We've learned that the attitudes and behaviours

of service providers matter to consumers as much as the type

of service they receive.

All new services will now be guided by a set

of principles that have been designed by consumers.

We want services to be provided

with a consumer focus, where the first question asked is

how can I help you?

We are going to introduce a new role

who will walk with the consumer

through their care journey,

helping to connect different supports and ensure

the service is giving them the help they need.

We will be working with service providers,

big and small, who best meet unique needs

of culturally and linguistically diverse,

LGBTIQ and Indigenous populations.

They will also help us influence mainstream providers

to meet the needs of these groups.

Our mental health, suicide prevention

and alcohol and other drug services will be integrated

within three sub-regions, Brisbane, Redlands,

and Logan/Beaudesert.

There will also be a referral hub to make it easier

for GPs to refer their patients.

Service providers in each sub-region will work closely

with GPs and each other to ensure that people

don't fall through the cracks

and can easily move between services.

Our new model will build on the strengths

of our existing programs and won't start from scratch,

but we recognise that this is a transformational journey.
