This is the Astell & Kern A&Norma SR15 digital audio player - yes, the one with the tilted screen.
Once you get over the quirky design, you'll find Astell & Kern's usual meticulous build quality.
However we do recommend a case to take some of the edge off the SR15's sharp design.
The SR15 features a quad core processor that makes scrolling and moving around the interface
very responsive compared to many other players in this class.
The new A&K UI itself is fast and simple to navigate, and the compact size keeps everything
convenient - the SR15 is slightly narrower, but thicker than an AK70, and smaller than
competing players like the Sony ZX300.
In our testing we found the both the single ended and 2.5mm balanced outputs are far less
noisy than those of the AK70.
Output impedance is below 1.6 ohms on both outputs.
This makes the SR15 a great match for sensitive balanced armature IEMs like the Campfire Audio
Andromeda, or A&K's own line of in-ear monitors.
If you are looking for high performance in a small player, the SR15 is definitely worth a look.
