Ninh explains, Stop Drinking & Smoking NOW - Beating your addiction to Alcohol, Cigarettes

and Drugs Smoking.

Drinking.

Drugs.

Three of the most common and problematic addictions known to man.

If you haven't already watched my video on understanding addiction – I highly recommend

you watch that video first before carrying on with the rest of this video.

I bet you're the kind of person who drinks too much, right?

Can't stop smoking even with those annoying patches?

And you just can't seem to shake off that annoying heroin addiction, right?

Doing these things can really damaging to your health, and I don't need to show you

what that looks like, do I?

Okay then… ohhh, urgh, argh!

Remember, if you did watch my video on understanding addiction you know that you've attached

strong feelings to a thought, with the feeling of needing comfort to be happy.

And this results in a behaviour of you medicating yourself with cigarettes, alcohol and drugs.

Every time you think of a thought that requires some form of comfort or that requires you

to want to be happy, you'll reach out for those substances.

And this happens every single time.

You've become good at this, to the point where you don't even consciously think about

it.

All you have to do is feel a little bad and low and behold you've got a smoke and a

drink in your hand.

It's so easy, you can buy these substances anywhere!

You feel that you need this in order to cope.

You don't.

You just think that you do.

Now it's time to break the habit.

Let's break the association between you thinking a thought, and the emotional need

for a cigarette, alcohol or drugs.

Every time you get a thought in your head and the feeling of wanting a cigarette, wanting

a drink or shooting up, I want you to say 'STOP – I do not want these thoughts.

I do not want this stuff.

Thank you very much, Trash delete.'

When you do this, I want you to sweep your eyes from right to up to left, you're going

in a circular motion, and I want you to imagine the very thing you're addicted to going around,

until you put that into the bin and out of your mind.

Do this EVERY SINGLE TIME that you even think that you want a drink, a smoke or some drugs.

'STOP – I do not want these thoughts.

I do not want this stuff.

Thank you very much, Trash delete.'

'STOP – I do not want these thoughts.

I do not want this stuff.

Thank you very much, Trash delete.'

'STOP – I do not want these thoughts.

I do not want this stuff.

Thank you very much, Trash delete.'

What you're doing is that you're breaking the association between thought and feeling

and you are commanding your brain to not react in the way that it used to.

You might be constantly doing it at first, but after a while, you'll be saying the

phrase less and less, as your brain relearns to think about it's dependency on cigarettes,

alcohol and drugs disappears.

And if you can do it for one day, you can do it for two days, a week, a month, a year.

In addition to this, I also want you to do the following:

1) Form a healthy environment.

If the environment around you is one filled with happiness, love, and variety, you've

no need to medicate yourself with cigarettes, alcohol and drugs.

Make sure that you've got a happy fulfilling life and that you want to stay healthy so

that you can enjoy it some more.

You'll be too busy enjoying life and being surrounded by people who care to even think

about that stuff anymore.

2) Get rid of any of those substances . You can't take the stuff if you don't have

it.

So get that stuff out of your house 3) Avoid triggers – if you go to places

that make you want it, such as a restaurants pubs & clubs, – it might be worthwhile to

stay away from them for the time being.

Remember, we're trying to reduce the chance that you reach for your substances.

And if you do fail, it's not the end of the world.

Get back on that horse and try again.

You've probably made more progress than you think and I know your body might react

adversely to stopping cold turkey.

But your mind controls your body … focus on the mind and the body follows.

Pretty soon, you'll be enjoying life, without the need for substances.

What Every Introvert Should Know About Self-Acceptance - Duration: 5:04.

What Every Introvert Should Know About Self-Acceptance.

We've all heard it before that self-acceptance is the cornerstone of a happy life.

Not so hard to believe right?

Except that for most people, self-acceptance is something we think we have to earn.

We believe that we will only be able to fully accept ourselves once we have achieved our

desire.

In other words, self-acceptance comes with a caveat.

For introverts, that caveat might be, "I'll accept myself when I become more outgoing"

or "I'll love myself when I have mastered behaving like an extrovert".

The truth is, self-acceptance doesn't come with special conditions or caveats.

It is unconditional.

Does Self-Acceptance Hinder Growth?

Some people believe that fully accepting ourselves as we are inhibits self-improvement.

As a self-improvement junkie, I can say with certainty that this is not the case.

In fact, a lack of self-acceptance is what really holds us back.

If you don't accept yourself before you achieve your desire, you probably won't

accept yourself afterwards.

We are creatures of habit and our brains reflect this.

We are hardwired to continue indulging familiar thought patterns regardless of any change

of circumstance.

This is why your grandpa, who grew up in the depression, is such a tightwad even though

he is now wealthy.

It is why people who had highly critical parents never feel good enough, regardless of how

much they accomplish.

The harsh reality is that if you don't believe that you are enough today, you won't be

enough tomorrow when you accomplish your goals.

The coach in the movie Cool Runnings explains this point brilliantly:

"A gold medal is a wonderful thing, but if you're not enough without it, you'll

never be enough with it."

Why is it Important?

"You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection."

Buddha

But why accept ourselves at all?

What are the benefits of this seemingly selfish endeavor?

First and foremost I'll address the fact that learning to love ourselves completely

is NOT a selfish endeavor.

When we fill our own cup with self-love and acceptance, we stop looking to others to meet

our needs.

We are not waiting for someone to tell us that they accept our quietness, our seriousness,

or our introspective nature, because we have already embraced every part of ourselves.

This shifts our mental and physical positioning from one of neediness to one of abundance.

It is from this standpoint that we stop seeking only for ourselves and naturally begin to

give to others.

Perhaps, you feel that accepting the "bad" parts of yourself means that you will become

a bad person.

You might be tempted to say, "I accept everything about myself, except my selfishness".

But we needn't worry about our flaws overtaking us simply because we accept them.

Self-acceptance is like filling a cup with water.

When the cup is full, the 'lighter' parts of our personality, like love, understanding

and peace will naturally float to the surface and spill out, while the 'heavier' parts,

like narcissism, jealousy and selfishness will stay at the bottom.

Self-acceptance has the added benefit of enhancing solitude.

Because introverts want and need a lot of alone time, it is very important that we enjoy

our own company.

Self-acceptance makes being alone more pleasurable because we begin to truly love our own companionship.

The worst loneliness is not accepting yourself.

"The mind is very powerful.

You must infuse it with kind and loving thoughts.", Isha and Mark Lerner

Now that we know the importance of self-acceptance, the question remains: how do we go about achieving

it?

Unless we make a conscious effort to change our thinking, our perception of ourselves

will remain the same.

We must literally retrain our brain to choose more accepting and constructive thoughts.

This is no small task.

The good news is that there are countless resources and tools available to help us transform

our dusty old thought patterns.

As introverts, our love of introspection makes us especially receptive to the various mind

makeover tools out there.

Thoughts are our currency, so we see the value in mastering them.

Well, that's the things every introvert should know about self-acceptance.

Really cool information isn't it?

2017 Seniors Advice to Freshman Self - Duration: 2:20.

Hmmm.

Oh, I got it.

I don't.

You can just start talking whatever.

Just to refresh your memory.

Wait we've got to get in that order.

What?

Whoa, that's me!

I would literally tell myself never give up because

you never know what's gonna happen.

And I'm going to be a teacher.

I should talk to more people and definitely join some clubs ... oh snap!

Oh wow!

Hit the gym better during that time.

That is crazy.

I'm wearing the same shirt.

(Don't say that too loudly.)

Oh I was going to wear that shirt today.

Oh wow that's me!

Not to be so nervous about the future and

what's bound to happen or what could happen.

Four years ago... (and this is you four years ago.)

How do you have that picture?

What, oh my God.

Can you send me that?

Oh my God!

That's so funny.

To my younger self?

(Yes.)

I would say don't procrastinate ... stop!

Ha ha ha.

How did you find that?

Keep staying involved.

You're were kind of shy and you didn't want to do anything, but here you are

doing stuff and I'm really proud of you.

If I can give myself any freshman advice wow yes, that was me, that was me ...

If I can give myself any freshman advice, I would

tell myself to believe in myself and be confident.

First of all ... (and here is what you'd be) Yeah yeah ... that's that's a

good reminder.(Just a refresher.)

First of all stop putting so much gel in your hair.

Second of all stop wearing v-necks.

To all freshmen, get involved.

Oh God, I look ugly.

That's me, yup well definitely get involved.

I mean I started out joining one club and little that I know I be joining a lot more

throughout the years and it's been the best experience of my life.

Be open to change and to grow.

You enter as one person.

You will continue as a different and you will graduate as a

totally different product.

Oh absolutely!

23 Years Ago: Clay Walker Earns First Platinum Record With Self-Titled Debut

Twenty-three years ago today, on Aug. 31, 1994, Clay Walker was undoubtedly in a celebratory mood.

It was on that date that the singer-songwriter earned his first platinum record, signifying sales in excess of one million units, with his self-titled debut album.

The Clay Walker album, which was released on Giant Records, includes three No. 1 singles — "What's It to You,"

"Dreaming With My Eyes Open" and "Live Until I Die" — the latter of which Walker penned by himself.

"The song kind of wrote itself; there was no struggle at all," the Texan recalls to Country Weekly.

"Melody and words all came to me at the same time, and I wrote it in one night.

It was like I was on this road — and it was the right road the whole time."

Clay Walker kicked off a series of successes for Walker: The tunesmith's next three albums —

If I Could Make a Living, Hypnotize the Moon and Rumor Has It — each scored platinum status as well.
