Auto news on Youtube May 2 2018

Today I am on tour with Yuko in the Sayama Hills.

This area was used by Hayao Miyazaki for his movie My Neighbor Totoro and it is better known as the Totoro Forest.

This green oasis is protected by the Totoro Foundation, which tries to buy the forest areas to prevent their deforestation.

Today we want to hike to Kurosukes house and we start from the station SeibuKyuujoMae.

What we have discovered in the house. You'll see it in my short video!

Tottori | Japan's Hidden Desert ! 🐫 | Lost in Japan Ep.12 - Duration: 6:57.

What is going on Members of the Barrio

It's Jon, coming to you from Tottori

On the west coast of Japan

And today.. we're going to be checking out the sand dunes

That make this area..world famous

It looks more like a desert out here

Than it does like the country of Japan

It's pretty insane

We checked it out for the first time last night

A quick tip

Make sure when you board a bus here

That you check with the driver, that it's going to the right location

Show him on your phone the destination

They're very nice

Don't make the same mistake we did yesterday

And go about 5 miles in the wrong direction

Adriana how excited are you to get down there

And run around

On the sand?

I'm so excited

I want to play in the sand

I think i'm not allowed

But..I love the sand so..

I really want to go down there

These sand dunes formed over 100,000 years ago

There were sediment deposits that were carried

From a river

Into the sea of Japan

And washed up onto the shore

Here and over time it formed

This amazing site

And we've got to get a little bit closer to.. show you guys

They said run run run

And you just have to jump onto this thing

And put your feet up

Or you're dead

We've both never gone sking before

The thing comes right up under your legs

And you are swooped away

It's crazy

We weren't sure if twas safe or not

But it seems fine

We've made it

To what looks like.. a desert

And it's not as crowded as I thought it would be

Because I think this is still kind of..

An off the beaten track. Kind of place in Japan

And there's just sand everywhere

I mean literally

If you transported me here

I would think we were in

The middle of Saudia Arabia

My shadow

Your shadow?

You're a camel?

Yeah

We've come to the point right now

Where we have to climb up a sand dune

To get to the top

To get what I think should be a really great view of the sea of Japan

There's the easy way

And there's a hard way

I'm not sure which one to pick

Easy

Hard

Much steeper there

Adriana what do you think? Easy way or hard way?

No question of that

No question

I don't think any is easy !

There is no easy way?

I need an elevator here

You want an elevator here

Please

How about a camel?

Uhh no thanks

I think I would pay for a camel at this point

Alright so there's a little bit of cardio involved in going up quickly

I'm not going to lie about that

But.. almost at the top

Almost

You made it

We've made it to the top of the biggest dune

And honestly this kind of feels like a mirage right now

You're just surrounded by green on all sides

And there is this desert looking thing in the middle

Incredible

Bye

Adriana was not in the mood to hike down to the Sea of Japan

But just for you guys

I want to get some footage

Right by the water

I was about to give up

I tried hiking down the sand a bit

It was really tough to walk back up

But.. I see some stairs all the way down there

I think..I think I can make it

It is not a mirage

Somebody put bags here

For you to walk down to the beach

I'm going to let you guys all in on a little joke right now

I am not going to tell Adriana that I took that baggy staircase

I'm going to say that I struggled

And fought my way to the bottom of the sand dunes

Only to reach..the end result

The Sea of Japan

The truth is it was actually very easy

The interesting thing here is that..

If you didn't turn around and look at the big sand dunes behind you

This kind of feels like a normal beach

Anywhere

Adriana is that little speck

Right there on screen

I'm going to take the stairs back up.. remember guys

You're in on this joke with me

This was an extremely grueling hike

I'm dead

I know you look dead

That was the hardest hike ever

That's why I didn't go

What are you doing?

While Jon was um.. hiking

I was sketching

This is myself. sitting

Yourself sitting in the sand

Yes. of course i'm happier here

Because I have food and drinks

So..

Alright guys we experienced that.. strenous hike together

Now we're going to show you.. the sand museum

And I think you're going to like it a lot

We've entered the sand museum

And down here are.. many sand sculptures

Done by professional artists

And the theme is Nordic Countries

I can not imagine the hours of work that went into creating these sand sculptures

The details are so intricate

We're just blown away right here

It's incredible

I didn't expect it to be like this

I expected.. things like this

This tall and small

But they are huge and the details are just so perfect

You have to see if you come.. like it's worth it

Members of the Barrio

If you're looking for something a little bit off the beaten path

Tottori is the answer

This place is really really interesting

With the sand dunes feeling like you're in the desert

Spending time there

And going to the sand museum

Which as we both said

Is absolutely incredible

If you can come here for a night or two

If you have the ability

I really do think it is worth your time

Make sure to subscribe if you are new to this channel

We've got a lot more coming up

From Japan

Thank you so much for watching

Until next time

S. Korean Pres. Moon to visit Japan on May 9 for S. Korea, Japan, China Summit - Duration: 2:36.

Our top story this afternoon...

President Moon Jae-in will make a one-day visit to Japan next Wednesday to attend the

South Korea-Japan-China trilateral summit,... the first such meeting between the neighbors

in more than two years.

Our chief Blue House correspondent Moon Connyoung reports.

South Korea's President Moon Jae-in will visit Tokyo next week for a three-way summit with

prime ministers of Japan and China... and on the agenda there will also be North Korea's

denuclearization and peace settlement on the Korean Peninsula.

"President Moon Jae-in will make a one-day visit to Japan to attend the 7th South Korea,

Japan, China trilateral summit on the 9th of May.

It will mark the first visit to Japan by a sitting South Korean president since 2011."

The trilateral meeting on Wednesday will be the first of its kind since 2015 and comes

after a historic inter-Korean summit last Friday... in which the leaders of the two

Koreas reaffirmed their commitment on declaring the end of the Korean War by the year's end

and dismantling Pyongyang's nuclear program.

"At the trilateral summit, President Moon will brief the other two leaders on the results

of the recent inter-Korean summit and discuss ways to strengthen the three countries' cooperation

on denuclearization and lasting peace settlement on the Korean Peninsula."

The meeting also comes ahead of the highly-anticipated summit between North Korean leader Kim

Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump... expected to take place in three to four weeks.

President Moon and Japanese Prime Minister Abe will hold separate talks after their trilateral

meeting with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

"Following the trilateral meeting, President Moon and Japanese Prime Minister Abe will

hold a separate bilateral summit and a luncheon meeting to exchange ideas on ways to build

a future-oriented South Korea, Japan relationship and cooperation for complete denuclearization

and lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula."

"The trilateral summit in Tokyo next week will serve as a key venue for Japan and China

to become up to date on the latest wave of diplomatic developments between South and

North Korea from the inter-Korean summit.

Will it be enough to quell the two countries' fear of being sidelined in this entire process:

the quick warm up of inter-Korean ties and possible denuclearization?

That we'll find out come May 9th when the three leaders come face to face for the first

time in six and a half years.

Moon Connyoung, Arirang News, the Blue House."

The next song is 'My Way' by ISU

Nights that I thought about you Were just greed to me

It breaks my heart but I know So the destiny that chose me

Won't linger and grasp onto you

I will leave you now

Every breath I spit out Is like a thorn-like pain

Making me erase the love That I hid deep inside

Where can I lean on? When everything that passes me

Become scars?

Nights that I thought about you Were just greed to me

It breaks my heart but I know So the destiny that chose me

Won't linger and grasp onto you

I will leave you now

If I can go back to you some day Whenever that might be

If you haven't forgotten me

Days I thought about you Were the last remaining joy to me

The destiny that chose me Isn't anything other

Than only you

Now I'll be Forever by your side

FMs of Japan, China head over to meet with respective counterparts in U.S., N. Korea - Duration: 2:40.

With about a month ahead of Washington-Pyongyang talks, key regional players are rushing to

have an input before the historic even unfolds.

Foreign ministers of Japan and China are meeting with their counterparts from both sides.

Oh Jung-hee outlines what could be the key topics during those sit-downs.

Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono hurriedly met with his new U.S. counterpart Mike Pompeo

in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Monday local time.

This... to reaffirm maximum pressure on North Korea in order to achieve complete denuclearization...

as well as to ensure joint efforts to bring back Japanese citizens abducted by the regime.

The meeting was the first between the two top diplomats -- coming only four days after

Pompeo assumed the post of U.S. Secretary of State last Thursday.

Diplomatic sources say... the meeting was highly desired by the Japanese side... and

was confirmed only after Kono arrived in Amman.

Pompeo was on a four-nation tour through the Middle East.

"In Washington's negotiations with Pyongyang, Tokyo doesn't want short-range missiles to

be excluded from the ban on intercontinental ballistic missiles.

Tokyo also wants to see Pyongyang's real intentions."

Meanwhile, Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi is also to head over to North Korea on Wednesday...

at the invitation from his North Korean counterpart.

This... amid concerns that Beijing could feel left out from formally ending the Korean War

and drafting a peace treaty.

Last Friday's summit agreement, dubbed the 'Panmunjom Declaration,' stipulates... the

two Koreas will actively push forwards trilateral meetings with the U.S. or quadrilateral meetings

with both the U.S. and China... to set a permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.

And that leaves open the possibility of excluding China from the talks.

"The two Koreas and the United States have already formed a trilateral structure and

are closely coordinating.

So there's no need to bring in China to form a rivalry structure that puts Seoul and Washington

at one side and Pyongyang and Beijing at the other."

The expert added...

China will be most curious about how North Korea could be guaranteed of its sovereign

security... as it directly coincides with Beijing's own interest.

With the situation taking not steps but leaps in terms of denuclearization talks between

the two Koreas as well as between Pyongyang and Washington,...

China and Japan are in apparent moves to secure their own interests and maintain their influence

in the region.

- One of the good things about DukeEngage is that

if there isn't something that you like 100%,

you can create your own project, and that's what I did.

(Tech music pop)

As a biology and global health double major

with a Japanese minor, I really wanted to work at an NGO

that had a global health focus, and I wanted

to use my Japanese language skills to serve as well.

For conflict relief, natural disaster relief,

you always think about these developing countries,

and I wanted to send a message that even

in developed countries, there are people in need of aid.

I was working with an organization in Japan

that focused on helping people who were displaced

from the 2011 tsunami and earthquake,

and they helped develop new communities and ties.

It was the ideal service project for me.

That's what kept me motivated to plan all the details.

It's a blank piece of paper, and you're creating

all components of your project, so not only

where are you gonna work, but what are you gonna do,

but also where are you living, how are you getting there,

how are you traveling to your project site.

I had the opportunity to do field work in Tohoku,

which was one of the areas that was hit the hardest.

I was able to listen to a lot of the stories

that people experienced and went through

while the tsunami was happening.

They were very real, like very raw stories,

and seeing these people just trying to live their lives

as hard as they can motivated me to help them even more

and contribute to my organization

so that it can help them on a larger scale.

England Stuns Japan At 2018 World Team Table Tennis Championships - Duration: 2:02.

Two years ago at the 2016 World Team Table Tennis Championships in the Malaysian capital

of Kuala Lumpur there was a special moment in the Men's Championship Division as Team

England secured an unlikely bronze medal finish.

Paul Drinkhall, Liam Pitchford and Sam Walker's brave run was eventually ended by Japan in

the semi-finals of the event and two years on at the 2018 World Team Championships the

two sides met yet again but this time in the group stage.

Seeded second for the competition in Halmstad, Japan were once again the favourites for the

win but in a rather shocking twist the victory was awarded to 12th seeds England.

Paul Drinkhall gave a very good account of himself in the opening contest of the tie

and was unfortunate to lost out to Jun Mizutani across five games but Japan's lead was soon

cancelled out through Liam Pitchford who once again saw off Tomokazu Harimoto having defeated

the young Japanese star at the 2018 Team World Cup in February.

The expectation was to see Japan reclaim the advantage in the third fixture of the match
