Auto news on Youtube Feb 1 2019

Hello friends.

The video that I bring today is dedicated to all the people who is starting college for first time.

I'm not an expert talking about that...

Because

I started few time ago

Nevertheless, I think that it might be important to talk about how the first semester could be.

One of the most important of all.

All semesters are important.

But I think that first semester is the most important due to you get into another world.

Another reality.

New people.

Another surroundings.

Another surroundings.

Let's talk about what university is.

University is a place where your dreams are destroyed.

First day, you go with an expectation

Bye mom, bye dad...

Bye Firulais.

I will make come true my dreams, let's do it!

Then you go...

You get scared.

You get excited.

You look like:

You get into the classroom.

You leave.

You show up at your home.

And you say:

I will never be a president!

In that place your dreams are destroyed.

Because you meet with bad professors.

And nasty classmates.

It's the competition of life.

There are good professors as bad professors that provokes you to tell them:

Dude, if you will come with that attitude you must not come to teach.

They think that to be a professor means that they can have the attitude that they want no matter what.

It's my opinion.

What can I say about classmates? It's a total competition.

But don't worry about it.

It depends on you if you will let others destroy your dreams.

Don't be discouraged...

Because I will talk about things that you should and should not to do...Advices.

To have a good start of career, semester, school year...Studies?

Whatever!

So let's start!

University survival manual.

There's no more the name of "teacher"

You don't arrive and say "hi teacher!"

The way you refer to your superior depends on the career you study.

Engineering.

Engineer.

Any other career.

Professor.

But you should never call them teacher...

Less dad or mom.

It's the nerves.

It happens.

They will tell you that is a piece of cake to aprove...

Your professor will show you his qualification methods.

Don't trust!

It's too perfect to be real!

If you trust, you will be begging note at the end of the semester.

Don't trust anyone to make the homework.

Less at group works.

Sometimes a someone tells you:

Well, you will pass me some exercises and I'll do the same!

At the end you don't receive anything.

And the next day, that dude presents the homework.

And you look like:

I will bring this with me.

You say: "Well, at school I used to get fifteen different classes"

And I approved.

With seven classes I can do it.

Not!

With five classes you can live stressed.

There are no breaks.

If at school you loved free hours...At university you will hate that.

At classes don't stay with people who is the best at classes, because they are the most selfish people but try to stay with people who want to learn and have potential.

If you have to make groups of work, stay with that kind of people who are the best students.

Or with people like you.

There will be professors who will never think that your work is good

They will always criticize you.

They will not give you constructive criticism.

They will give you "constructive criticism"

So nasty.

But you have to know how to handle the professor and the class.

Try to follow their rules

The semester does not matter.

There will always a class that you will hate

No matter if you love your career.

There will always a hated class.

Well, that was the video of today.

I hope you liked it.

Don't forget to press "like"

To comment.

Do you have any expectations?

New students.

Also old students.

How do you feel?

Maybe someone still adapting to that change.

Living her life with purpose - Alumna Carmen Bravo - University of Phoenix - Duration: 0:51.

(heavy breathing and running footsteps)

So you're talking about a first generation American

from the streets of the Imperial Valley

who rose to beat the odds.

She didn't just become a nurse

and get her bachelor's,

she worked nights and weekends

till she earned herself a master's degree.

A few years back, she was running in a marathon

when a man behind her

collapsed from cardiac arrest.

She ran to the scene,

flipped this guy over

and started performing CPR.

Keeping him alive for the twenty-two minutes

it took for an ambulance to arrive.

She went from working at a swap meet,

to earning her bachelor's, her master's

and using her experience to save this man's life.

So why do I think there should be more people

like Carmen Bravo in this world?

Because that man... was me.

2019 State of the University Address - Duration: 1:33.

- Standing on this stage today I can honestly say

that I am more optimistic about the future

of our great university than I have ever been.

Not only are our students finishing in record time,

they are also landing jobs and positions in graduate school

like never before.

Our annual economic impact on the state

is now estimated at $6.3 billion.

That's a big impact on individuals,

families, and communities.

Our research enterprise is flourishing as well.

These are clear signs of our expanding impact

and growing presence on the world stage.

But these achievements did not happen by chance.

Behind every record high, behind every jump in the rankings,

you will see an inter-connected family

of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends

who love the University of Georgia.

The success of our institution is testament,

above all else, to the strength of our community,

the Bulldog Nation.

We are proving that the future of public higher education

in America is being molded right here where it began

at the University of Georgia.

University Room Tour - Duration: 4:21.

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share a tour of the room I call home during

university term time. First up we have my wardrobe. This is the biggest area I have

for storage, and I use the top shelf to keep my carry-on suitcase out of the way, and

there are some blankets at the back that were here when I moved in and I didn't

feel like using. Towards the front of the top shelf I keep a bag with character

shoes and my character skirt, so I can just grab that bag whenever I leave for

classes where I need them. The middle section is where I keep my clothes.

From left to right I have dancewear, shirts, skirts, dresses, and cardigans, and

then my dressing gown and my coat on the end. I've tried to organize this by

section and then by colour, but I feel like I might be the only one who can

make sense of it! On the bottom shelf, I have some bottles of water because I

can't drink the tap water here, and some handbags and shopping bags for when I'm

out and about. I moved my desk over here when I first moved in so that I could

look out of this gorgeous big window while I'm working. That window is

possibly my favourite thing about this room because it lets in so much light. In

the corner of my desk, I have a storage thing from Ikea, and I know that the

bottom section looks messy but trust me: I know what's in there! Next to

that I have a schedule, which includes time for lessons, cooking, and socializing,

because I found at the beginning of the year, I was feeling really frantic and

overwhelmed, so it's been quite calming for me to have all my time laid out like

that. I have these plant pots from Ikea that I keep makeup brushes and pens in.

Above my bed I have this beautiful tapestry that was designed by an artist

who's local to my hometown back in England, and I just put some fairy lights

from Primark around it to add a cute little touch to it. Beside my bed, I have

this bedside table I made for myself out of two storage boxes from Ikea. In them I

have t-shirts and pyjamas and on top (as you can see) I keep my glasses case and a

lamp, because otherwise all the light switches are on the opposite side of the

room. I keep my shoes under the bed, as well as

my big case that I use for checked baggage when I need it. The architecture

and interior design here in Spain is designed to keep the space cool, which is

fantastic in summer and less fantastic in the middle of January, so on my bed I

have a woolen blanket, then a sheet, and then this blanket from Ale Hop that says

"Home is where the cat is." on it. I also have a hot water bottle and this blanket

that you put your legs in and it looks like you're being eaten by a shark. It's

the single dorkiest thing I've ever seen in my life, but I'm pretty sure it's the

best purchase I've ever made! I have this shelf above my bed where I keep

miscellaneous items. You can see I've got some spikey massage balls to relax my

muscles, some Therabands for stretching with, and a candle and some Reed diffusers

up there, as well as plenty of other bits and bobs that I just didn't know where

else I could put them if not up there! And then underneath that, I have a notice

board which is full of good luck cards, birthday cards, and some photos and

Polaroids I've taken since being here. I could do with organizing it a bit, but I

like that it's another source of colour and personality in the room. In my

bathroom, I have a toilet, sink, and shower, and I try to keep my toiletries and

stuff tidy as much as possible, but the only storage I have in here is this

little shelf, so it's not particularly easy. I put these fairy lights around the

mirror as a bit of decoration in here, but I couldn't get them to lay flat so

they don't look fantastic. University accommodation isn't the easiest for

storage or for personality, but you can find solutions if you look for them to

make your home away from home a little bit more comfortable and livable. I hope

you enjoyed this video, if you did please be sure to give it a like. If you have

anything to say then please leave a comment, and if you'd like to see more of

my content then please be sure to subscribe to my channel and hit the

little bell icon so you receive notifications when I upload! Other than

that, thank you for watching and good bye!

82 year old Hilary Chalkly on graduating from Kingston University - Duration: 1:42.

I finished my education 67 years ago because I'm now 82 it's really been

something I would never expect to experience my biggest fear have been

to start with that being an older person that I would be left on my own I wasn't

I was just accepted as one of the students there was no definition in

age or anything at all it was really nice really friendly I loved it

she was a great student we didn't do anything differently for her we just

supported her as we would any other student but to have her in a seminar

group with some 21 22 year olds setting out on the creative writing journey was

brilliant it gave a really really wonderful dynamic to show that you can

continue your learning at any time in your life and you never give up on

improving and getting better anything that you want to do. I feel that sounds a bit big headed

to say I'm proud but I think pleased, thrilled. We are incredibly proud of what Hilary has

achieved we didn't think she would get into Kingston University at her age

and the family is so proud of what she's done and what she has achieved my

children my family they've all supported me helped me where ever they can which

has been very gratifying and my friend Carol

she's always been there for me

Science and Biomedical Science at Deakin - Duration: 2:29.

When I finished high school and I started browsing all universities

The Bachelor of Science at Deakin really offered me many choices.

So now I'm majoring in chemistry and human biology.

Studying at Burwood is really awesome.

Lots of really modern facilities are available to us.

So you've got all the labs in building M and then the library itself is really great and has plenty of resources.

There are so many majors available

from zoology, marine science or even mathematics.

General science, biomedical science, forensic science and environmental science.

There are many more available for all students and all their needs and interests.

Biomedical science is a really really broad field

that looks at the biological aspects of medicine.

So looking at creating new medicines and different health care products that can be used in the field.

For most of the science units we have the chance to go to class

and there are practicals where we can use the equipment and get used to them.

And then you'll often have a lab partner or the table will all work together.

So it's quite group based and team work learning.

There will be microbiology, you'll be looking at dead specimens and dissections.

Really really hands on, practical experience that give you great lab skills that you can use in a job.

We develop the skills necessary in the laboratories and later on in our work place.

I would definitely recommend prospective students to come to Deakin

because I really enjoy it here and I would recommend it to anyone.

It's a really exciting field, there's a lot of job opportunities within science and biomedical science specifically.

Deakin has great learning facilities and the teachers are really amazing.

I think it's a really good community where everyone help each other.

Science is really exciting, because it allows us to have answers regarding our environment and our world.

It is also really inspiring to look around and discover new things and explore.

One of the most exciting parts about biomedical science is that it's a really broad field that's rapidly developing.

I really enjoy coming to Deakin because it is so diverse.

I've met students from all around the world

from China, Russia, Philippines and even countries I didn't even know existed.

I really really enjoyed my time at Deakin.

Just the facilities, the staff and the friends that I've made have been really fantastic.

What's so Wonderful About Wool? - Yarn University #2 - Duration: 3:05.

Wool is the hair of a sheep that is shorn and spun into yarn.

And you know what happens next!

But did you know that wool's been turned into garments as far back as 4000 BCE?

We're still knitting and crocheting with this incredible, iconic fiber today.

And while there are countless textiles on the market, there must be something special

about wool that's made it so popular for so long.

Here are a few benefits when it comes to working with wool.

(Pomp and Circumstance)(sheep maaah!)

Would you believe that wool is great for every season?

Wool is breathable which means that it can keep you warm without trapping moisture.

That means that garments made with thin wool yarns are even great to wear in the summer.

Because wool is moisture wicking, it doesn't trap sweat meaning it won't trap odors.

On top of that, the properties that keep this fiber dry also prevent bacterial and mold

growth.

So handmade seaters can go longer without a wash than other garments and, contrary to

what some might think, they won't get stinky!

Just like you grow hair, sheep grown fleece.

Average merino sheep produce around ten pounds of fleece each year and domesticated sheep

have been bred to grow their wooly coats non-stop.

That means that wool is a renewable resource as long as there are sheep and grass.

And it's biodegradable!

While you might not think about your favorite sweater and a pair of yoga pants in the same

way, wool has an elastic quality that's great for all kinds of garments.

So as long as you're washing them properly, handmade wool pieces can stretch without losing

their shape.

I'm sure you're number one priority isn't safety when you throw on a cute sweater, but

did you know that wool is naturally flame resistant?

In fact, it's one of the most flame resistant textile fibers.

Wool burns at a very high temperature meaning that it's difficult to ignite and requires

a lot of oxygen to become enflamed.

If it does catch fire, wool's self-extinguishing and doesn't melt or stick to your skin.

Wool needs more special care than synthetic fibers but it can be worth the fuss.

Wool is incredibly durable because of its structure.

Even more durable than natural fibers such as silk and cotton.

I mean, there is a reason it's been turned into garments for centuries.

With proper care, a handmade wool piece can last a lifetime.

While there are lots of different yarns out there, wool will always be a classic choice

for knitters and crocheters.

What do you like about wool?

Leave a comment and let us know!

Royal Az - Meghan surprises students at London university - Duration: 2:11.

The Duchess of Sussex delighted student well-wishers when she visited a London university to learn more about the work of a Commonwealth institution

Students descended on University of London when she arrived to chat to scholars and academics from the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), an organisation the duchess supports as patron

Hundreds of young people cheered and waved Union flags when the heavily pregnant duchess arrived in her chauffeur-driven car

The ACU brings together universities, academics and students from around the world to advance knowledge, promote understanding, broaden minds and improve lives

Meghan chatted to groups of students from across the world researching issues like disability, sustainability and peace and reconciliation

Joanna Newman, chief executive and secretary general of the ACU, said: "Our new patron, of course, has such a fantastic record of speaking up about the issues we most care about in higher education, whether it's equity of access, gender and girls, or a whole host of other issues

"  Established in 1913, the ACU is one of the world's oldest international university networks, with more than 500 member institutions in over 50 countries

It manages international scholarship schemes - including the Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships - which offer educational opportunities, convenes universities to address key policy challenges, and promotes the role of universities in delivering the UN's sustainable development goals

Universities Minister Chris Skidmore visits Kingston University - Duration: 2:12.

so I've come to Kingston University as the relatively new University's minister

just to look at some of the excellent work the universities are doing about

improving access and participation particularly for black and ethnic

minority communities and I've seen that Kingston's done a fantastic job in

lowering sort of access and participation gaps between black and

white pupils also attainment gaps as well and I think you know for me as the

Universities Minister trying to expand some of the examples of best practice

you know I've seen here at Kingston is going to be really crucial but it's going

to places like Kingston which clearly already recognize the need to make sure

that University is a reflective and modern society in modern Britain where I

want to draw inspiration from so we hosted a visit by the new Universities

Minister today and I was really proud to show him some of the incredible work

that we do as a university so he got to speak to students who are from really

challenging backgrounds and care backgrounds from a strange backgrounds

and learn how we support them to get a good education and get on in the world

he saw some of the outreach work we did we went to the lab on a lorry and saw

eight-year-olds looking through microscopes and opening up a

whole world of STEM to them and then I had a chance at the end for a private

conversation to remind him both of the good work we do the sector leading work

we do here at Kingston University and also the role we've been playing in

nudging the government to take the issues of social inclusion and

attainment for all and the value of diversity more seriously because no one

in my family like my mum and dad haven't been to University and it was kind of a

very new experience for me and they weren't quite sure what to expect just

like me the university in general is really supportive from just support with

your study so with essays if you need someone to have a look at your essays

check you're on the right track and check your referencing all the way to

just general help we have a personal tutor that you can go to for

support if you have any issues

University Of Iowa Student, 18, Tragically Dies After Being Found Outdoors While Wind Chill Was -51 - Duration: 2:55.

An 18-year-old University of Iowa premed student was found unresponsive outdoors as extreme arctic weather brought the windchill in the Midwest down to -51 degrees. He tragically died later in a hospital.

A University of Iowa student tragically died after being found unresponsive outdoors during the polar vortex in the Midwest. Campus police found Gerald Belz, 18, unresponsive outside of a campus building just before 3 a.m. local time on Jan. 30. At the time the authorities found him, the wind chill outdoors was -51 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the National Weather Service.

Belz, who was in his second semester at the Iowa City-based university and hailed originally from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, was transported to a hospital where he later died, a spokesperson for the University of Iowa told People. The spokesperson added that no foul play is suspected. The investigation into the teen's death is ongoing, but officials believe the cause of death is weather-related. Belz's family told local CBS affiliate KGAN in an interview that doctors confirmed Belz didn't have any alcohol in his system at the time.

Belz's father, Michael Belz, described his son as a "quiet, tough guy," according to People. He also told KCCI-TV of Des Moines that his son, who was a premed student, wanted to be a cardiologist. "I want people to remember him as a compassionate person," Michael Belz told the news outlet. "He had many more friends than I was aware of. He didn't bring many friends over to the house, but we knew he had lots of friends."

— University of Iowa (@uiowa) January 30, 2019

The University of Iowa took to Twitter to post a tribute to Belz. "We are saddened by the loss of a student from the Hawkeye family," the statement, issued by Dean of Students Dr. Angie Reams, read. "Losing a fellow student and member of our Hawkeye family can be very difficult. I encourage you to reach out if you are in need of support."

The Midwest, from the Dakotas to Western New York, is experiencing some of the coldest temperatures to hit the region in over 20 years, according to People. It was -23 degrees Fahrenheit in Chicago and -30 in Wisconsin on the morning of Jan. 30.
