History in the Making | Black History Month | Ashford University - Duration: 4:43.

Victoria: Hello!

My name is Victoria Iyamba and this is Promoting Awareness and Wellness in Students.

For February, Black History month has been our focus; in the past, we've discussed

the influence and history of Black Americans with our esteemed faculty members.

This February, we made a shift and had the opportunity to feature a student's success.

This episode features an Ashford alumnus who just made history.

Welcome to PAWs.

Victoria: Andrew Parker, an Ashford Graduate who graduated with his bachelor of Arts in

Business Administration in 2009, was just elected to the Township Committee in his hometown

of Egg Harbor, New Jersey.

This event marked the first time an African American was elected to that office.

Andrew took some time out of his schedule to speak to us about his experience.

We asked him, as we celebrate Black History Month, can you talk a little about how it

feels to be the first African American elected to the Township Committee in Egg Harbor?

Andrew: It feels truly amazing to be elected to the township committee!

This is the town that I grew up in and has given so much to me in terms of education,

opportunities, experiences, mentors, and friendships.

It is a blessing for me to be able to give back to a system that has helped raise me.

Being the 1st African-American simply raises the bar for me to focus on being great at

the job the people of this town elected me to do.

Victoria: Andrew discusses what motivated him to seek a position as an elected official?

Andrew: What motivated me to seek a position as an elected official is the fact that I

have been volunteering on boards, committees, and organizations in this town, Egg Harbor

Township since I came home from college.

I served on the Zoning Board of Adjustments since 2010.

Our long-time mayor of 32 years, James "Sonny" McCullough and long-time Township Committee

and County freeholder Frank Finnerty, who have showed examples of tremendous leadership

in our town, chose to retire, and I guess I felt obligated to offer my services to help

carry-on the tradition.

Also, watching how polarized our national politics and country has become, I felt there

was a need for free-thinking people to send a different message of what makes America

great.

Victoria: We asked Andrew, how has earning a degree at Ashford supported you in reaching

this goal?

Andrew: My degree at Ashford started the process for me to be able to have my message heard

on a higher platform.

Graduating with a Business Degree from Ashford, gave me the content knowledge that assisted

me with organizational management and change in business development.

These are the strengths that I will bring to our governing body team.

It also opened up the door for me to be able to gain consideration for career opportunities

that would not be available to me without a degree.

Victoria: We asked Andrew to share a personal passion or hobby that's unrelated to his

work and a way to relieve stress.

He then shares how self-care can contribute to success.

Andrew: A passion and hobby of mine is riding my motorcycle.

Riding my Harley helps me clear my head and re-charge.

When I have a rough decisions weighing on my mind, something about a ride on two wheels

exposed to nature with the wind blowing past my body gives me clarity of thought and I

am better enabled to make sound decisions based on reasoning, balancing out logic and

emotions.

Victoria: Andrew shares the guidance he can leave viewers with as they pursue their aspiration.

Andrew: Some guidance I can give to viewers as they pursue their aspirations to be willing

to do the work.

We have a generation that expects withdrawals from an account with insufficient funds.

Invest in yourself, put in the work, put in the time, and nothing can stop you.

Do not allow anyone to write your story.

Be the master of your own pen.

Dr Sotirios Zartaloudis - International Political Economy MA/PGDip - Duration: 1:26.

So this MA International Political Economy covers issues of globalization, inequality,

poverty, gender, growth and it's extremely important because today we live in a period

where the world is connected.

We live in a global village.

Some people like it, some people don't like it, some people vote against it, some people

vote in favor of it.

So students coming to Birmingham will be able discuss this theoretical and empirical debates

about how the world is and how the world is changing or not.

Students enrolled in this program will have to take two core, if you like compulsory modules.

One is globalization and Governance and second one is International Political Economy.

One of the unique things we do here in Birmingham is that we have a number of study trips.

So we have one study trip that students can go to Brussels and they can visit European

institutions but also NATO.

In addition we have UN modelling simulation access which Birmingham runs every year.

So students will be able to link the masters program of International Political Economy

to a wide range of real life situations.

Another thing that we are really proud of in Birmingham is that we have one of the best

campuses and all students from around the world, from different cultures, really enjoy

being in Birmingham

Jack Miner introduces the Enterprise Project - Duration: 2:02.

[MUSIC]

Hi, I'm Jack Miner, University Registrar and

Executive Director of Enrollment Services.

I'm here today to talk a little bit about the Enterprise Project.

The Enterprise Project at its root is an opportunity for

Ohio State to bring modern technology.

And leverage our technology resources in order to better serve our students.

It'll provide a mobile adaptive environment for our students.

And it will also provide an opportunity for

our students to best engage with the resources that we provide at Ohio State.

One of the things that we did collaboratively as an institution in

working through the Enterprise Project is developing a series of guiding principles.

Those guiding principles are on your screen right now.

But I want to talk a little bit about how we developed those and

how those will actually be actualized for the project.

We developed those in working with students, university leadership,

faculty and staff, and various senate committees across campus.

The opportunity was really one to think about,

what is at the root of what we're trying to accomplish with the Enterprise Project?

I want to talk a little bit about one of those guiding principles around academic

advising.

With academic advising, one of the things we'll be able to do is

specifically provide students an opportunity to plan out their degree for

the four years that they are here.

And show them how individual changes to that degree plan, including substituting

classes, can impact their time to degree and their student debt ratio.

For an institution, we are also able to mine that data and able to better plan.

What are the interests of our students?

And how can we better plan a course offering pattern for

them over the time that they are at Ohio State?

I hope that you'll join me in making the Enterprise Project a success and

helping to better serve our students.

Thanks!

Women Make Their Stage Debut in Harvard's Hasty Pudding - Duration: 1:23.

I got to Harvard and heard about female identifying students auditioning for the group as a form

of protest so I decided to do that just to show them that they had this incredible range

of talent that they were totally ignoring.

They announced that they were going to let women on cast and I remember sitting there

and just, my jaw dropping and being so excited.

I feel so lucky and so grateful to be one of those first women, to be the first ever

black woman, it's so cool to be part of literally the oldest theatrical group in the country

and to be part of a show that has a huge legacy.

To have everyone be so excited that we're here, and wanting to watch us perform and

wanting to help us out and everything, has been amazing and I think we're all so, we

feel incredibly grateful that we get to be a part of it.

I Decided To Change My Training Routine A Bit | Japanese University Cafe - Duration: 7:00.

What's up guys. Welcome back to my youtube channel

Today i'm gonna make a video to show you guys that I'm still here. Ok?

Before spring vacation, I thought that doing this vacation I can do more video twice a week or 3 times a week

But I cannot man because I have research to do you know even spring break so

Maybe once a week. Okay, it's been a week now

so today i'm gonna make a video and today video is about I think is NOTHING

but just showing my face talking, may be sharing some view in this Shiru cafe maybe, in my school you know

It looks very cozy and the light here is very beautiful makes video,... it's very nice.

You can see there's some student here studying

and do something I don't know

Usually here's gonna be so busy

But today is not because it's in spring break so student they go for travel

Maybe they stay at home. They don't come to university. So that's why here is not busy as usual

But I still good because there's still some students there. Yeah. It's very nice actually

By the way, my training had changed a little bit

I removed Japanese stretching from my routine because I saw some harm about it

Actually I didn't know about it until now. There was a guy in Vietnamese group on Facebook

about sharing tip to grow taller. That guy he shared his story after 4 months doing japanese stretching

He encountered 10 to 15 times of urination per day so he went to see a doctor

and he shared his story, his training to the doctor and the doctor said

maybe Japanese stretching is a reason. Actually I have that symptom

Not quite much like 10 or 15 times a day is too much :v

but

Maybe it I don't know but maybe

9 to 10, but it's actually it happened to me too. So

You know for safety, you know for safety. I want to stop doing that

I don't want to have any harm to myself and...

another reason for stopping doing japanese stretching

Because japanese stretching is not my main exercise. It just assists my others hard exercises like

sprinting, cycling with raised seat

pull-up

Sit-ups, hanging, Yoga stretching, sit-ups [duplicated lol].

So if I remove it, it's gonna be fine you know

I just spend more time for yoga stretching because

Japanese stretching is I think it's only advanced stretching

so if we stop doing that it's gonna be fine. No need to worry, okay

I just want to share that I hoped you understand

I don't want any harm happen to you guys from doing exercise, you know

So just be responsible for yourself

If you try something new, please observe your health if anything changed in negative direction

Please stop doing that new thing because we cannot sacrifice our health, okay

okay, so

Today is nice day. But actually it's raining outside, but I still go to the gym, you know,

I'm very consistent

consistent, patient, they are 2 main keys to reach our goal

It can be applied in anything not only in growing taller. Patient and consistent. Ok

It's almost 7 pm now. I have everything cooked already

I cooked at lunch for dinner also

So when I get home just warm it up and then eat. It's very easy

I eat before 8 pm because I'm still doing intermittent fasting

I want to make video here because here is very nice, the light here is so nice. Damnn. it's so nice

Okay, so I think that's it

I hope you guys still doing exercises to grow taller

and I really hope that you guys also have result, alright.

Ah. I forgot I also increased 1 mm in the last week. So 3.2 cm in total

Amazing, huh? Okay

I really hope you guys also get some results if you have please comment below so I can know it

I really happy like when someone like comment that I grow I grow

Yeah, that's amazing. That's very cool actually

So if you grow, please update by commenting on my video

I think I'm gonna end this video right now, and I hope you like it

There's nothing much in this video, but I hope you like it. Okay, please share this video

I really want more and more people know about my channel because I think it's very cool

it gives me more motivation

So, please share this video and please give me a thumbs up. Subscribe if you haven't subscribed

I just found out that notification bell is very important. So please press it. Ok.

So when I upload new video you guys gonna know very fast.

So click on the notification bell. It's very important, alright, click on it.

Okay. Thank you for watching and see you guys in the next video

Yeah, I really like pep band.

It's really close. Everybody... everybody knows each other, everybody helps each other out.

I actually want to do exotic animals. So I want to work in a zoo with like, lions, tigers, gorillas.

I like the energy that everybody has in the pep band. Like, we all cheer

and it's basically just another student section, but I get to play an instrument too.

YTP - Poppy Harlow Exposes Mcdonald's Hamburger University - Duration: 4:13.

McDonald's Hamburger University.

It's exactly what it sounds like: A university for their high potential hamburgers.

And they graduate with this: A degree in Scientology.

Large Coke?

Large Coke.

Large Coke?

Large Coke.

Thank you.

Have a Large Coke.

We need mas salchica please!

McDonald's serves six people a day, but the food is actually fake.

Here at Hamburger U, students don't learn management skills.

McDonald's is actually grooming them to be hamburgers.

Do we have a bacon egg and cum bagel coming, guys?

In the first simulation, long lines, frustrated customers and simulated managers.

Then the managers get more complicated operating systems, designed to frustrate customers.

Stephanie, I need more muffins please.

Please.

Please.

Stephanie, I need more muffins please.

Please.

How do you think this is affecting the customer?

Everybody's getting upset.

All you see is the manager running back and forth,

and not really running back and forth.

The manager is more chaotic than anything else.

So back to class.

Alright my teams, should we talk about what just happened?

My food just wasn't very friendly.

Did we see high service crew?

Yes.

Did we see high customers?

Yes.

So this time, they try to cut class.

So I decided to try for myself.

Okay, here we go.

Good morning.

I'm Wilford Brimley, and I'd like to talk to you for a few minutes about diabeetus.

Actually, about Mcdonald's.

And in doing so, you'll you'll find that McDonald's has some wonderful foods to offer you.

For instance, ice cream and apple pie, and diabeetus medicine.

So I would encourage you, eat all your cares away.

But I wanna tell you, If you eat this food, you will get type two

adult onset diabeetus.

I would like cinnamon melts, a bacon egg and cheese bagel,

a sausage egg mcmuffin, a bacon egg and cheese cinnamon melt,

a cinnamon egg, a baby,

and a hash brown.

$20.15 at the first window.

Enjoy your diabeetus.

I'm just really really really in a rush.

Pretty so far.

If they get the order right, they get CiCi.

We have a bacon egg and cheese bagel.

We have a cinnamon melt.

We have a bacon egg and cheese cinnamon melt.

We have a cinnamon egg.

And we have one hash brown.

And what about the sausage mcmuffin?

This egg muffin?

Sausage mcmuffin.

Egg muffin?

Sausage mcmuffin.

A sausage muffin?

Let's see.

Come on guys, they said it was in a rush.

Let's go.

...And I got it for you, alrighty.

And what about the baby?

...And I got it for you, alrighty.

That was thirty minutes and thirty seconds.

It's much smoother, but the second service still sucked.

Two cinnamelts for side two are on side one.

Two cinnamelts for side one are on side two.

Stephanie, I need more muffins please.

Better communication made a difference.

Our professors, you know,

teach us, you know,

very important life skills, you know,

about customer relations, you know,

and most importantly, you know,

running a multi billion dollar company, you know.

Do you want to own a McDonald's?

(Wheezing)

Nay.

Founded in 1961, McDonald's has grown more than a quarter million

students from just 14 hamburgers in an Ohio basement.

McDonald's current CEO has just one key to the company's Ohio basement.

McDonald's says this is no joke.

We may be a big butt in the eyes of many, but in that local community,

it's that big butt that makes the restaurants.

I can do this.

I- I realize that I can transform into a fork.

Over the years, companies like Target and Walmart even give employees McDonald's hamburgers

for attending college.

Showing there's much more behind those famous golden arches.

My experience in ROTC is actually pretty fun, and...

It's made my life take a more positive route.

So I kind of lied. The real reason I'm here is to offer a check,

a scholarship to Don Phillips II.

Yeah! Yeah! Woo!

Two years of tuition, a hundred percent paid for.

And we're going to give you a check.

We're going to give you a $420 check every month while you're in the program,

for a total of $7,560 and we're going to give you money for books too, $1,200 a year.

Well deserved, I know that this has been long overdue.

I know you're pretty excited. Congratulations.

Monash University | Health Collab Symposium - Duration: 3:23.

A symposium is a device to bring lots of people and disciplines together, exchange

ideas and envision a new future. I think it's a really powerful way of bringing together design thinking

- we call it design thinking - but also call it creative industries.

To start some conversations

around how a design can be used as a

vehicle in collaboration with all these other partners to try and design ways of

improving healthcare outcomes. I think which make a lot of assumptions in terms

of what design is and also in terms of what health is and where health is

enacted. The biggest challenge is really to bring people together to have

conversations and build a shared understanding to build the foundations

where we can work together. They have brought the industrial partners the

clinical partners together with the academic partners on this design and

health research symposium and so that's why we have such a perfect mixture of

government agenda, industrial agenda and the academic agenda.

This symposium allows people like me in sort of other institutions to come into those design

spaces and to look at some ways that we can collaborate together to increase the

traction for health outcomes for people. People are sort of appreciating that the

world is much more complex and volatile than they had imagined. I work with

governments as well as universities around bringing design into their work,

how they face the future, how they prepare for the future,

but people are appreciating that design can deal with a lot larger more complex situations.

I'm particularly interested in how we bring together the people who

work in healthcare who are passionate about doing good for people with

designers who are passionate about bringing good into the world so that we

can improve the way we deliver healthcare for our community.

So there are great opportunities for collaboration but I thought was really

important global challenges that I don't think any

discipline can solve on their own, so I think if we are going to address some

of the big societal challenges that face us we've got to work together and understand it.

What we are essentially asking or trying to do is to bring two

very different world views or perspectives together and how that

played out really relies on strong, focused, thoughtful generous collaboration.

I think the people that you meet here, you automatically come

with like-minded values and similar research agendas, so collaboration is

always the key in dealing with industry and academic partnerships.

I've met a lot of like-minded people but I've also met people who are from

outside of my field so I've met more people who are working in health, it's not just designers.

So it's a big deal, people are realising, that they just need to

find out more about it and how to do it, how to make it successful.

This is university that really understands what the fourth-generation universities might be

like and how to bring growth and creativity to their work.

And the hope is that we've created some links between key researchers with industry with

clinicians that we can move forward together and start addressing some of

these areas in the forms and research projects into the future.

Design is the common thread that joins us all together in this program to improve healthcare.
