If the person puts you in a bear hug

Here... Boom, what you want to do?

And Gio is really strong, right? Drop your weight

Se he can't pick me up. I become heavy.

From there, grab the balls ans squeeze them.

Okay, you can headbutt backwards, you can buck him with your bum.

Squeeze, I felt it a little bit.

[Laughs]

Let's say I squeeze it.

So you squeeze the balls,

I hit, boom elbow. remember, elbows.

Palm strikes, hammer fists.

Eye gouging, neck cranking, hair pulling

ripping!

That's all.

Srdjan Roje: Don't EVER Do "Self Help", And This Is Why... (Excerpt from "Manifesting Abundance") - Duration: 5:12.

And it is the second great insight that Buddha gave us

in his very concise "Four Noble Truths".

And that is: Happiness is your natural state.

When you remove whatever makes you unhappy,

you are getting back to your natural state of being.

Not filtered through your mind, which will make it real.

Whatever circumstances are going on will make them real.

So, once you remove suffering, you're raising your vibration.

You don't need to add anything to you.

You just need to remove what you are not.

Or in Buddha's own words:

"It is in the nature of things that joy arises in a person free from remorse."

All you need to do is remove what you do not prefer.

What you are not.

What does not resonate with you.

You just need to find out about your attachments and about your resistances.

And let them go.

Once you let them go,

once you release the weights that are holding you down,

you will naturally lift your vibration.

That is kind of surprising.

But it is in the nature of things.

It's just the way it is.

It's just like the great sculptor, Michelangelo.

He created some real gorgeous sculptures, masterpieces.

Like the Pietà or David.

And someone asked him once:

"Oh, my God, Michelangelo, this is gorgeous."

"How could you create this beautiful sculpture from a piece of stone?"

And he said: "You know what, David was already in the stone."

"I just removed the extraneous stone."

I just removed what David was not.

Okay?

And by removing what David was not, there it is, David.

As we know him today.

So you don't need to ADD anything to you.

You are already perfect.

As the Eastern traditions would say.

You're already perfect.

What you need is to remove from yourself what you are not.

It's kind of like a balloon.

You know those hot-air balloons.

There is a balloon and here you're inside.

And these balloons often have some weights.

That's called ballast.

The only function of these weights is to keep you at a certain altitude.

If you want to go higher,

what you need to do is cut off one of those ballasts.

Okay?

Then you will make yourself lighter

and the balloon will go higher naturally.

You don't need anything to add to that balloon.

Only remove the ballast, the weight that you don't need.

If you want to go higher.

And that is why...

I am strongly opposed, personally, to calling this,

what we are talking about, self-help, or self-improvement.

Because self-improvement means that there is a better version of yourself.

Somewhere in the future.

And if there is a better version of me in the future,

that means that this version now is not good enough.

That immediately puts you in guilt and shame.

Because you are not good enough or you are afraid.

You're worried about what people will think of you.

Because you should be better.

Please don't do that!

Please don't do self-help and please don't do self-improvement.

What you should do is self-exploration.

Self-discovery.

Find out what you already are.

And when you find out what you already are...

The path to finding what you already are

is by removing from yourself what you are NOT.

As the great poet Rumi said:

"Your task is not to seek for love,"

"but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself"

"that you have built against it."

Victory Demands Self-Control - Part 1 | Enjoying Everyday Life - Duration: 28:32.

ANNOUNCER: THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN MADE POSSIBLE BY THE

FRIENDS AND PARTNERS OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.

[MUSIC]

JOYCE: I'M TEACHING ON DISCIPLINE AND SELF-CONTROL.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: YA KNOW, I THOUGHT THIS MORNING, A GOOD WAY TO TALK

ABOUT DISCIPLINE IS YOU HAVE TO DISCIPLINE YOURSELF TO GET

OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING.

AND, YOU HAVE TO DISCIPLINE YOURSELF TO GO TO BED AT NIGHT.

AND ALL THROUGHOUT THE DAY IT'S ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER,

AFTER ANOTHER, DISCIPLINING YOUR THOUGHTS, DISCIPLINING

YOUR MOUTH, DISCIPLINING YOUR ATTITUDE, YOUR ACTIONS,

GETTING YOUR WORK DONE, AND ON, AND ON, AND ON.

AND SO, TO SAY, "I'M NOT A DISCIPLINED PERSON," IS

ACTUALLY NOT TRUE.

YOU HAVE THE FRUIT OF SELF-CONTROL.

YOU MAY NOT BE USING IT, BUT YOU HAVE IT.

SO STOP SAYING, "I JUST CAN'T CONTROL MYSELF IN THAT AREA,"

BECAUSE WHAT'S IN YOUR POWER TO DO, IS IN YOUR POWER

NOT TO DO.

IF YOU CAN SAY YES TO SOMETHING, YOU CAN SAY NO TO

IT, THE CHOICE IS YOURS.

THE MORE YOU DISCIPLINE YOURSELF, GOD HAS GIVEN US

SELF-CONTROL, HE DOESN'T CONTROL US, HE HASN'T GIVEN US

THE RIGHT TO CONTROL OTHER PEOPLE, HE WANTS US TO

CONTROL OURSELVES.

NOW, IN 2 TIMOTHY 1:7, A VERY WELL-KNOWN VERSE, IT SAYS,

"FOR GOD GAVE US NOT A SPIRIT OF FEAR BUT OF POWER AND

LOVE AND SELF-CONTROL." DIFFERENT TRANSLATIONS SAY

DIFFERENT THINGS BUT THE ESV BIBLE, WHICH IS NOW SUPPOSED

TO BE THE MOST ACCURATE TRANSLATION, CALLS

IT SELF-CONTROL.

ACTUALLY, THE AMPLIFIED BIBLE, WHICH I'VE USED EXTENSIVELY

FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, SAYS IT THIS WAY, "FOR GOD DID NOT

GIVE US A SPIRIT OF TIMIDITY (OF COWARDICE, OF CRAVEN AND

CRINGING AND FAWNING FEAR), BUT [HE HAS GIVEN US A SPIRIT]

OF POWER AND OF LOVE AND OF A CALM AND A WELL-BALANCED MIND

AND A SPIRIT OF DISCIPLINE AND SELF-CONTROL."

SO, EVERYBODY SAY RIGHT NOW, I HAVE DISCIPLINE.

AUDIENCE: I HAVE DISCIPLINE.

JOYCE: AND I HAVE SELF-CONTROL.

AUDIENCE: AND I HAVE SELF-CONTROL.

JOYCE: AND I USE THEM BOTH.

AUDIENCE: AND I USE THEM BOTH.

JOYCE: NOW, YOU KNOW, A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE VERY,

VERY TALENTED.

IT'S AMAZING TO ME THE TALENT THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE.

BUT, IT'S ALSO KIND OF A KNOWN FACT, NOT WITH EVERYBODY OF

COURSE, BUT SOME PEOPLE THAT ARE VERY TALENTED ARE ALSO

VERY UNDISCIPLINED.

AND, I KNOW ONE PERSON FOR EXAMPLE, SHE IS TALENTED IN SO

MANY DIFFERENT THINGS THAT SHE CAN'T SEEM TO SETTLE ON ANY

ONE THING AND REALLY DO ANYTHING WITH IT.

BECAUSE, SHE'LL GET HALF WAY INTO THAT, THEN SHE GETS

ANOTHER IDEA, AND THEY'RE ALL GOOD IDEAS, BUT SOONER OR

LATER YOU GOT TO HARNESS YOUR POWER AND FOCUS IT

INTO ONE THING.

TALENT WITHOUT DISCIPLINE IS LIKE AN OCTOPUS ON

ROLLER SKATES.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: THERE'S PLENTY OF MOVEMENT, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW

IF IT'S GONNA BE FORWARD, BACKWARD, OR SIDEWAYS.

AMEN?

HARRY TRUMAN SAID THIS, "IN READING THE LIVES OF GREAT

MEN, I FOUND THAT THE FIRST VICTORY THEY WON WAS

OVER THEMSELVES.

SELF-DISCIPLINE WITH ALL OF THEM CAME FIRST."

AND, I DON'T BELIEVE THAT ANY PERSON CAN DO ANYTHING GREAT

JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE NATURAL TALENT, NOT JUST BECAUSE THEY

WANT TO, UNTIL YOU FIRST CAN MANAGE YOURSELF, YOU'RE NOT

GOING TO BE ABLE TO MANAGE ANYTHING OR ANYONE

ELSE VERY WELL.

DON'T TRY TO MANAGE YOUR CHILDREN, IF YOU'RE NOT GOING

TO SHOW A GOOD EXAMPLE OF SELF-CONTROL IN FRONT OF THEM.

AMEN?

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: YOU SHOULD BE MORE EXCITED ABOUT THAT, THAN THAT

BUT, YOU KNOW...

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: TELLING OUR KIDS TO DO SOMETHING WHILE DOING THE

OPPOSITE OF WHAT WE TOLD THEM, ACTUALLY DOES MORE HARM THAN

IF WE WOULD HAVE JUST KEPT QUIET TO BEGIN WITH.

DON'T CORRECT YOUR CHILD FOR LYING, IF WHEN THE PHONE RINGS

YOU'RE GOING TO TELL THEM, "WHOEVER THAT IS, JUST TELL

'EM I'M NOT HERE."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: AMEN?

LIKE I SAY ALL THE TIME, YOU'RE ALL PREACHERS, BUT YOU

SAY A LOT MORE WITH YOUR ACTIONS THAN YOU DO WITH

YOUR WORDS.

GOD HAS NOT GIVEN US A SPIRIT OF FEAR, BUT OF POWER AND LOVE

AND A SOUND MIND.

NOW, YOU KNOW, I THINK IN OUR SOCIETY WE NEED TO TOUGHEN

UP A LITTLE BIT.

I'M GONNA SAY IT AGAIN.

I THINK WE NEED TO TOUGHEN UP A LITTLE BIT.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: SO OFTEN, WE TRY TO GET OUT OF HARD THINGS BY JUST

SAYING, "WELL, IT'S JUST TOO HARD."

THAT IS JUST AN EXCUSE AND IT IS A LIE THAT SATAN PUTS IN

EVERYBODY'S HEAD.

"I CAN'T, IT'S TOO HARD." "I CAN'T EXERCISE.

IT'S TOO HARD." "I CAN'T LOSE WEIGHT, I GET

TOO HUNGRY."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: "I TRY TO RESIST OVERSPENDING, BUT I'M JUST

WEAK IN THAT AREA." ONE WOMAN'S HUSBAND HAD TOLD

HER, "I WANT YOU TO STOP BUYING THINGS ON THE

CREDIT CARD.

WE'VE GOT TO GET OUT OF DEBT.

AND I WANT TO GET THESE CREDIT CARDS PAID OFF.

AND I WANT YOU TO PROMISE ME THAT YOU WILL NOT GO

OUT TO THE MALL AND KEEP BUYING STUFF."

WELL, SHE HAD TO GO OUT THERE TO PICK SOMETHING UP

AND SHE KNEW SHE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO SHOP.

BUT, SHE SAW A DRESS THAT, OF COURSE WAS ON SALE AND,

"LAST DAY," ON SALE.

AND THOUGHT IT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING

SHE'D EVER SEEN.

SO, FIRST MISTAKE WAS SHE TRIED IT ON.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: SEE, WE GOT TO GET SMARTER.

SHE TRIED IT ON AND, OF COURSE, IT LOOKED AMAZING

ON HER, JUST AMAZING.

AND SO, SHE BOUGHT IT.

HID IT.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: DIDN'T TELL HER HUSBAND SHE'D BOUGHT IT.

AND THEN, HE SAW THE BILL WHEN IT CAME IN AND WANTED TO KNOW

WHAT WAS GOING ON.

AND SHE SAID, "OH, HONEY." SHE SAID, "I TRIED SO HARD TO

RESIST BUYING THAT DRESS AND I JUST COULDN'T."

AND, HE SAID, "WELL, YOU SHOULD HAVE SAID, 'GET THEE

BEHIND ME SATAN!'" AND SHE SAID, "I DID AND HE TOLD

ME IT LOOKED BETTER FROM BEHIND THAN IN THE FRONT!"

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: NOW, YOU ALL KNOW HOW WE ARE.

IF WE WANT IT BAD ENOUGH, WE CAN MAKE UP ALL KINDS OF

EXCUSES ABOUT WHY WE SHOULD HAVE IT.

AND IF WE DON'T WANT TO DO SOMETHING BAD ENOUGH,

THEN WE WON'T DO IT.

WE'LL FIND SOME WAY TO WIGGLE OUR WAY OUT OF IT.

BUT WE NEED TO STOP SAYING, "IT'S TOO HARD," BECAUSE GOD

WILL NEVER LEAD US TO DO ANYTHING THAT WE CANNOT DO.

AMEN?

CAN YOU AT LEAST GIVE ME THAT?

GOD WILL NOT LEAD US TO DO ANYTHING THAT WE CANNOT DO.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: SO, HERE'S KIND OF A SILLY EXAMPLE, BUT IT

MAKES THE POINT.

IT'S CALLED, "THE ICE CREAM STORY."

HOW MANY IF YOU LIKE ICE CREAM?

LET'S SEE IF YOU LIKE ICE CREAM.

OKAY.

WELL, I HAPPEN TO LIKE IT TOO.

SO, SOMEBODY MIGHT SAY, "WE'LL THAT'S MY WEAKNESS, I JUST

CANNOT SAY NO TO ICE CREAM." "YES, YOU CAN."

"NO, I CAN'T, I LOVE IT TOO MUCH."

WELL, I'M GOING TO PROVE TO YOU THAT YOU CAN SAY NO

TO ICE CREAM.

JUST IMAGINE YOURSELF RIGHT NOW INSIDE THE LARGEST ICE

CREAM PARLOR IN THE WORLD.

THEY HAVE EVERY CONCEIVABLE FLAVOR IMAGINABLE.

IT'S THE CREAMIEST ICE CREAM ANYWHERE ON THE PLANET.

LARGE PORTIONS.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: THE CLERK BEHIND THE COUNTER ASKS, "WHAT

WOULD YOU LIKE?

NAME IT AND I'LL MAKE IT FOR YOU."

YOU TELL 'EM AND HE MAKES THE LARGEST, CREAMIEST, ICE CREAM

DELIGHT THAT YOU'VE EVER SEEN IN YOUR WHOLE LIFE.

HE HANDS IT TO YOU ALONG WITH A LARGE SPOON.

NOW, HERE'S MY QUESTION.

CAN YOU, RIGHT NOW, PUT THAT ICE CREAM DOWN?

"NO, NO I CANNOT." OKAY, WELL, LET'S ADD A LITTLE

SOMETHING ELSE TO THE STORY.

AS YOU'RE ABOUT TO HEAP A SPOONFUL INTO YOUR MOUTH,

YOU HEAR A CLICK.

YOU FEEL A COLD METAL OBJECT TOUCH THE BACK OF YOUR HEAD.

OUT OF THE CORNER OF YOUR LEFT EYE, YOU CATCH A GLIMPSE OF A

LARGE HAIRY HAND HOLDING A GUN TO YOUR TEMPLE.

A DEEP VOICE SAYS, "IF YOU EAT THAT ICE CREAM, I WILL BLOW

YOUR HEAD OFF."

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: NOW, LET ME ASK YOU THE QUESTION AGAIN.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: CAN YOU PUT DOWN THAT ICE CREAM?

AUDIENCE: YES.

JOYCE: SO, HERE'S THE THING, HERE'S THE POINT.

YOU CAN SAY NO TO ANYTHING IF YOU KNOW WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES

ARE GOING TO BE IF YOU DON'T.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: I WANT TO SAY IT AGAIN.

YOU CAN SAY NO TO ANYTHING IF YOU KNOW THAT THE CONSEQUENCES

ARE GOING TO BE BAD ENOUGH.

AND I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I BELIEVE.

I BELIEVE THAT WE'RE ALL BEARING THE BURDEN OF CONSEQUENCES

IN OUR LIFE THAT WE'RE BLAMING ON THIS THING,

AND THAT THING, AND SOME OTHER THING.

BUT I CAN TELL YOU, AND I HOPE I DON'T HURT ANYBODY'S

FEELINGS, BUT A LOT OF OUR PROBLEMS ARE MORE OUR OWN

FAULT THAN WE LIKE TO THINK THAT THEY ARE.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: I'M TELLING YOU BLAME IS ONE OF THE DEVIL'S

FAVORITE THINGS TO DO.

BECAUSE, AS LONG AS I'M BLAMING SOMEBODY ELSE, I'M NOT

TAKING RESPONSIBILITY.

AND UNTIL I TAKE RESPONSIBILITY, NOTHING CAN BE

DONE ABOUT IT.

BECAUSE, WHOEVER I'M BLAMING IS NOT GOING

TO COME AND FIX IT.

AND I CAN PRAY ALL I WANT TO, AND GOD HELPS ME, BUT HE

DOESN'T DO EVERYTHING FOR US.

THE HOLY SPIRIT, THE GREEK WORD FOR THE HOLY SPIRIT, IS

THE WORD PARAKLETOS.

AND THAT WORD MEANS, "THE HELPER."

AND SO, GOD GAVE US THE HOLY SPIRIT, WHEN JESUS ASCENDED ON

HIGH, HE SENT THE HOLY SPIRIT TO REPRESENT HIM TO ACT

ON HIS BEHALF.

HE CAME TO LIVE ON THE INSIDE OF US.

NOT TO DO EVERYTHING FOR US, BUT TO HELP US DO WHAT GOD

ASKS US TO DO.

JOYCE: WELL, GOD HAS GIVEN EACH OF US A SPIRIT OF

DISCIPLINE AND SELF-CONTROL.

BUT HAVING SOMETHING AND USING IT ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

AND SO, IF YOU REALLY WANT TO HAVE VICTORY IN YOUR LIFE,

YOU'RE GOING TO NEED TO USE SELF-CONTROL AND DISCIPLINE ON

A REGULAR BASIS.

TODAY, WE HAVE QUESTIONS FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING

WITH SELF-CONTROL IN AREAS OF THEIR LIFE.

AND GINGER AND I ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THOSE QUESTIONS.

SO, THANK YOU FOR JOINING ME TODAY GINGER,

AND MAKING MY JOB EASIER.

GINGER: WELL, I'LL TELL YA, PEOPLE ARE ASKING

GREAT QUESTIONS.

AND I LOVE WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT HAVING IT IS NOT THE SAME

AS USING IT.

I THINK WE CAN ALL RELATE TO THAT.

SO, LET'S JUMP RIGHT IN WITH ONE THAT I THINK A LOT OF

PEOPLE WILL RELATE TO.

IT SAYS, "I GET ANGRY EASILY AND I WANT TO CONTROL IT.

WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST TO HELP ME WITH MY ANGER ISSUES?"

JOYCE: ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I FIND, AND IT ACTUALLY,

REALLY DOES WORK IF PEOPLE WILL DO IT, IS STUDY THE

BIBLE IN THE AREA WHERE YOU NEED HELP.

IT'S LIKE, AND I USE THIS EXAMPLE A LOT, YOU KNOW, IF

YOU HAVE A HEADACHE YOU DON'T STICK A BAND-AID ON YOUR HEAD,

YOU TAKE AN ASPIRIN.

IF YOU CUT YOUR ARM, YOU DON'T PUT AN ASPIRIN IN IT, YOU PUT

A BAND-AID ON IT.

WELL, I MEAN, IF YOU'RE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH ANGER, STUDYING

SUCCESS ISN'T WHAT YOU NEED.

THERE ARE SO MANY WONDERFUL SCRIPTURES IN THE BIBLE

ABOUT ANGER AND THE DANGERS OF ANGER.

AND YOU KNOW, WE CAN USE DISCIPLINE AND SELF-CONTROL

AND WE WILL NEED TO DO THAT, BUT WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING

APART FROM GOD.

AND SO THE THING IS, TO ALWAYS ASK GOD FOR HIS HELP.

AND THEN, I BELIEVE THAT AFTER THAT, STUDYING THE WORD--IT'S

LIKE TAKING MEDICINE FOR OUR SPIRITUAL AILMENTS.

AND I MEAN, EVEN LIKE, FOR ME, YOU KNOW, IF I WOULD--IF I

WOULD GET REALLY UPSET AT SOMEBODY AND I'D BE HAVING A

HARD TIME FORGIVING THEM, THE FIRST THING I WOULD DO WOULD

BE OPEN UP MY BIBLE AND LOOK AT ALL THE SCRIPTURES THAT I

KNOW ABOUT FORGIVENESS.

BECAUSE, THE THING THAT PEOPLE HAVE TO UNDERSTAND IS, THE

WORD OF GOD HAS POWER INHERENT IN IT.

GINGER: RIGHT.

JOYCE: IT'S SO--YOU MIGHT SAY, IT'S LIKE TAKING

MEDICINE, BUT IT'S MEDICINE FOR YOUR SOUL.

AND SO, YOU CAN'T CHANGE BY JUST TRYING.

YOU ADMIT YOUR SIN.

YOU REPENT.

YOU TELL GOD YOU WANT TO CHANGE, YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T

DO WITHOUT HIM.

AND THEN, YOU STUDY IN THAT AREA.

AND YOU BE DILIGENT LIKE, YOU KNOW, YOU'LL TAKE A WHOLE

PRESCRIPTION OF SOMETHIN' IF YOU'VE GOT A SICKNESS.

AND THEN IF YOU'RE STILL NOT WELL, YOU'LL GO BACK AND

GET IT REFILLED.

GINGER: RIGHT.

JOYCE: WELL, THERE'S UNLIMITED FREE REFILLS FROM

DOCTOR JESUS ON ANYTHING THAT AILS YOU.

GINGER: THAT'S A GOOD INSURANCE POLICY.

JOYCE: SO THAT--IT'S JUST GOOD ADVICE FOR ANYBODY HAVING

A PROBLEM IN ANY AREA, I THINK THAT'S THE ANSWER.

GINGER: YEAH, SO ARE THERE ANY SCRIPTURES IN PARTICULAR

THAT YOU WOULD RELY ON, WHEN IT COMES TO ANGER?

JOYCE: WELL, ONE OF THE THINGS I LIKE TO REMEMBER IS

THAT ANGER IS ONLY ONE LETTER AWAY FROM DANGER.

GINGER: MMM, YEAH.

JOYCE: AND, YOU KNOW, THERE'S SO MANY--I MEAN, THE

BIBLE SAYS THAT IF A MAN CAN CONTROL HIS ANGER, HE'S LIKE A

STRONG CITY, BUT IF HE CAN'T CONTROL HIS ANGER, HE'S LIKE A

CITY BROKEN DOWN THAT'S GOING TO END UP IN DISASTER.

AND YOU KNOW, I CAN'T THINK OF THE REFERENCE TO A LOT OF

'EM RIGHT NOW.

BUT THERE'S JUST--ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LOOK AT A

CONCORDANCE, OR TODAY, IF YOU'VE GOT A COMPUTER JUST

SIMPLY PUT IN SHOW ME SCRIPTURES ON ANGER.

YOU CAN EVEN REQUEST A CERTAIN TRANSLATION AND THAT ALL WILL

POP RIGHT UP FOR YOU.

GINGER: RIGHT.

JOYCE: SO, IT'S NOT DIFFICULT AT ALL TO DO THAT.

AND I KNOW THAT I'VE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS, THAT ANGER AND

UNFORGIVENESS--IT REALLY DOESN'T HURT YOUR ENEMY.

THEY DON'T CARE THAT YOU'RE ANGRY.

IT HURTS YOU.

AND SO, YOU'RE DOING YOURSELF A FAVOR WHEN YOU LET IT GO.

GINGER: YEAH, ALL RIGHT.

HERE'S OUR NEXT QUESTION, "MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE RIGHT NOW IS

CONTROLLING MY TALKING.

I DO IT MORE THAN NECESSARY AND END UP SAYING THINGS THAT

I SHOULDN'T SAY.

HOW CAN I GET CONTROL OF THIS?"

JOYCE: WELL, I'LL PRAY FOR YOU, IF YOU'LL PRAY

FOR ME [LAUGHING].

GINGER: I'LL GET IN ON THAT ONE TOO [LAUGHING].

JOYCE: I MEAN, THE BIBLE SAYS, "NO MAN CAN TAME

THE TONGUE." IT'S A RELENTLESS EVIL,

SUCH A WEAKNESS.

AND SO, I DAILY HAVE A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT I PRAY.

THEY'RE BOTH SCRIPTURES, "GOD PUT A WATCH OVER MY MOUTH LEST

I SIN AGAINST YOU WITH MY TONGUE, AND LET THE WORDS OF

MY MOUTH AND THE MEDITATION OF MY HEART BE ACCEPTABLE

IN YOUR SIGHT." GINGER: THOSE ARE GOOD

TO REMEMBER.

JOYCE: AND I THINK THE KEY IS, FIRST OF ALL, UNDERSTANDING

THE POWER OF WORDS.

AND THEN--AND I'M STILL WORKING WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT ON THIS

JUST LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE, THINKING BEFORE YOU SPEAK.

YOU KNOW, IF WE WOULD JUST TAKE A MOMENT.

GINGER: IT SOUNDS SO EASY AND IT'S SO HARD TO DO.

JOYCE: I KNOW, BUT IT'S LIKE, WE SAY SO MANY THINGS

THAT ARE SO SILLY.

BUT ONCE IT'S SAID, YOU KNOW...

GINGER: THERE'S NO GOING BACK.

JOYCE: THERE'S NO GOING BACK.

AND, THE GOOD NEWS IS, IS ANYTHING THAT YOU--

I WOULD PROBABLY SAY THAT'S BEEN ONE OF MY GREATEST

WEAKNESSES BECAUSE I, AS WE ALL KNOW, SPEAK MY MIND [LAUGHING].

BUT, I'VE GROWN SO MUCH OVER THE YEARS.

AND I'M CONTINUING TO GROW.

AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I'VE LEARNED THAT REALLY HELPS

ME IS, IT DOESN'T DO ANY GOOD TO BEAT YOURSELF UP OVER YOUR

WEAKNESSES, BUT EVEN IF YOUR SUCCESSES OR YOUR SPIRITUAL

GROWTH IS JUST EVEN A TINY LITTLE BIT, YOU SHOULD

CELEBRATE THAT.

BECAUSE WHAT YOU FOCUS ON IS WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO

GET MORE OF.

SO, IF YOU FOCUS ON ALL THE WRONG THINGS THAT YOU DO, IT'S

REALLY JUST GOING TO MAKE YOU DO MORE WRONG THINGS.

BUT IF YOU FOCUS ON THE GROWTH AND YOU THANK GOD FOR THE

GROWTH AND YOU-- JUST PRAYIN' ON A REGULAR

BASIS IN THIS AREA.

AND HERE AGAIN, A GOOD EXERCISE IS JUST GO THROUGH

PROVERBS, HIGHLIGHT OR UNDERLINE EVERY SCRIPTURE

ABOUT THE MOUTH.

GINGER: AND THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD ONES.

JOYCE: JUST IN PROVERBS.

GINGER: YEAH.

JOYCE: AND THEN YOU CAN ACTUALLY JUST ZIP RIGHT

THROUGH THERE, AND JUST GET LIKE, A QUICK

REFRESHER COURSE.

GINGER: YEAH, THAT'S GREAT.

JOYCE: THE WORD IS OUR MEDICINE.

GINGER: ONE OF THE THINGS I PRAY FOR EVERY DAY IS THE FULL

ARMOR OF GOD.

AND THE HELMET THAT GOD GIVES ME DOES HAVE A MOUTH PLATE,

AND SO I PRAY FOR THAT HELP ALSO [LAUGHING].

THERE ARE SO MANY GOOD QUESTIONS ABOUT SELF-CONTROL

THAT OBVIOUSLY WE'RE NOT GOING TO GET TO ALL OF THEM.

BUT, I THINK THIS IS ONE THAT IS APPLICABLE TO MANY DIFFERENT

SITUATIONS IN OUR LIFE.

SO, THIS SAYS, "I SMOKE, AND I REALLY WANT TO QUIT.

HOW CAN I GET SELF-CONTROL IN THIS AREA AND CONQUER

MY ADDICTION?" JOYCE: OKAY, WELL, THE

FIRST THING THAT COMES TO MIND IS, YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO

SUFFER FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

AND WE'D RATHER DO ANYTHING THAN SUFFER.

GINGER: YEAH, YOUR RIGHT.

JOYCE: NOW, MY HUSBAND AND I BOTH SMOKED FOR A LONG TIME.

AND DAVE PRAYED ABOUT IT.

GOD GAVE HIM GRACE AND HE QUIT.

WELL, IT WASN'T THAT WAY WITH ME.

GINGER: THAT HAD TO BE KIND OF FRUSTRATING.

YOU'RE HAPPY FOR HIM BUT...[LAUGHING].

JOYCE: I HAD A REALLY DIFFICULT TIME WITH IT.

BUT, I HAVE LEARNED THAT TO GET FREE FROM SOMETHING, YOU

ARE GOING TO HAVE TO LET YOUR FLESH BE UNCOMFORTABLE FOR A

CERTAIN PERIOD OF TIME.

AND IF I REMEMBER BACK, YOU KNOW, THE FIRST WEEK

WAS THE HARDEST.

BUT THEN IT STARTS TO GET A LITTLE BIT EASIER AND A LITTLE

BIT EASIER.

AND THE BIBLE ACTUALLY, SAYS IN 1ST PETER THAT IF YOU'RE

WILLING TO SUFFER IN THE FLESH, YOU'LL BE COMPLETELY

FINISHED WITH INTENTIONAL SIN.

THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT WILL NEVER MESS UP AND

MAKE MISTAKES.

BUT, I MEAN, YOU HAVE TO SMOKE WITH INTENTION, IT'S NOT JUST,

"OOPS, I SMOKED A CIGARETTE," YOU KNOW.

GINGER: YEAH.

JOYCE: YOU HAVE TO PLAN IT.

GINGER: IT TAKES A LITTLE EFFORT.

JOYCE: AND SO, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JUST SAYING, YOU

KNOW, THIS IS GOING TO BE UNCOMFORTABLE FOR A FEW DAYS.

DON'T REPLACE IT WITH EATING, YOU'RE GOING TO BE SORRY

IF YOU DO THAT.

AND YOU KNOW, JUST ONE DAY AT A TIME.

"I CAN DO THIS FOR 1 HOUR." "I CAN DO THIS FOR ONE DAY."

AND THEN, EVEN LIKE, A MONTH OR TWO AFTERWARDS, BECAUSE

IT'S SUCH A HABIT, AFTER I HAD QUIT I WOULD NOTICE IF I GOT

ANGRY THE FIRST THING I'D WANT WOULD BE A CIGARETTE,

OR YOU KNOW...

SO, YOU HAVE TO JUST, DON'T KEEP ANYTHING AROUND

WHERE YOU CAN GET TO IT.

AND IT REALLY--NICOTINE...

THE NICOTINE IS NOT SO HARD TO RESIST, IT'S THE HABIT.

IT'S REALLY DOING SOMETHING WITH YOUR HANDS.

GINGER: KNOWING THOSE TRIGGERS.

JOYCE: KNOWING THOSE TRIGGERS, AND SO...

ALL I KNOW IS, YOU CAN DO IT.

MY DAD SMOKED THREE PACKS OF CIGARETTES A DAY HIS WHOLE

LIFE AND HE WAS NOT A BELIEVER.

SO, HE STARTED COUGHING ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME.

AND HE QUIT, JUST COLD TURKEY QUIT.

AND I ASKED HIM, I SAID, "I'M REALLY SURPRISED YOU WERE

ABLE TO QUIT." AND HE SAID, "WELL, IT WAS

EITHER THAT OR DIE." AND SO, I THINK SOMETIMES IF

YOU JUST THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE DOING TO YOURSELF,

IT HELPS TOO.

GINGER: AND THOSE PRINCIPLES APPLY TO ALL

SELF-DISCIPLINE AREAS.

JOYCE: AND I UNDERSTAND IT.

GINGER: IT'S HARD STUFF.

JOYCE: MAYBE ONE OF THE REASONS WHY GOD DIDN'T DELIVER

ME INSTANTLY WAS BECAUSE HE WANTED ME TO UNDERSTAND.

NOT TO JUST GIVE FLIPPANT ANSWERS TO PEOPLE THAT

ARE STRUGGLING.

SO, YOU KNOW, FOR ANYBODY STRUGGLING IN ANY AREA,

WHETHER IT'S APPETITE OR WHATEVER IT IS, IF WE DON'T

STRUGGLE WITH SOMETHING WE JUST THINK, "WELL, JUST

DON'T DO IT." BUT THAT'S A LITTLE MORE

DIFFICULT IF YOU'RE THE ONE WITH THE PROBLEM.

BUT I DO KNOW THIS.

GOD WILL HELP YOU AND YOU CAN DO IT BUT YOU PROBABLY WON'T

DO IT WITHOUT SOME DISCOMFORT.

GINGER: WELL, THANK YOU, JOYCE.

WE NEED THE ENCOURAGEMENT.

JOYCE: THANK YOU.

💪Self Discipline VS Freedom? #SelfDiscipline 3★ #TheDay1Journey Ep. 113★ - Duration: 10:26.

hey are you too worried about all the things that you have to do

you have to go the gym you have to do this

you have to go shopping do you want to be free from

all these stuff do you want your freedom back

well in today's episode we'll keep talking about

self discipline this is the 2nd episode

of the self discipline series but what self discipline got to

do with being free from all these stuff

more about that just after the intro

welcome to the day 1 journey episode 113

chi ching episode 113 are you excited

well do you want to feel free from all these to do

things all the things we say to ourselves

I have to do that I have to do that

I have to go to the gym I have to do this shopping

I have to eat that or all these things

do you want to feel free from all this stuff

everybody likes freedom right well let's go a little bit

back in time why do we have to

do these stuff why do we have to do

these stuff didn't we make a choice

wait let's say for example we have to go to the gym

this is what we say to ourselves but back in time in the past

didn't we make a decision that we want to go to the gym

isn't there reason behind it maybe we had a goal

maybe we wanted to lose that weight maybe

we wanted to get into this shape maybe even the best shape

of our lives or maybe we had this thought about

I have to go shopping but at the end of the day

don't we want food in our house don't we want to cook today

so we can eat with the family I have to buy this present

to my friend maybe we want to make them

happy we want to make them know remind them that

we love them that we care for them so when we go

back in time we realize that there're things that

we wanted to do so do we really have to

do them or we actually want to do them

right doesn't it make sense nobody is forcing us to do that

nobody is putting a gun against our brains

and forces us to do that right so we want to do that

isn't that thought just a little bit liberating

but just before we said we want to be free from these

kinds of thoughts that I have to do something

but now we realize these are things that we

actually want to do so what's the distinction here

what do we miss because we did have the

freedom of choice right we did choose to go on this diet

we choose to go on this training routine

we did decide to all this stuff we had the freedom

so what's the distinction here what are we missing

by the way for years I didn't make this distinction

pretty powerful I'll share that with you right now

you see there're the things that we want but why do we

forget about them why did we forget about the reasons

you see cause we someimes forget to do the

distinction between what we may want right now yes

maybe that piece of cake maybe to press the snooze button

all the tempting stuff maybe even is to get

the anger too much and say the things we don't want

to say but are tempted to say these words all these temptations

that maybe are the things that we want to do right now

then what's the distinction there are the other things

the things that we want most that's the distinction

think about it there're the things that we

want to do right now right now we want to see

an extra movie than going to the gym

this maybe what we want to do right now

but what do we want most maybe to be healthy

maybe to get in the best shape of our lives

maybe to get the body that we deserve get the energy

maybe this is what we want most so what's the distinction

what's the bridge between them you forgot?

this is the self discipline series this is the distinction

self discipline at least as I see it is the bridge

self discipline is choosing between what you want right now

and what you want most does it make sense to you

choosing between what you want right now and what you

want most isn't that freedom

the freedom to choose the freedom of making a decision

isn't that power I'll put it even more simple

I decide and I do self discipline is freedom

think about it you decide and you do

you decide and you follow through you decide and you put the action

you decide and you put the action long enough you decide

and you do the things consistently maybe for months

maybe for years then you get to what you

really wanted what you wanted most

not necessarily what you wanted right now

what you want most you decide you do

you decide you do it consistently then you get to what you want

then in the future you want to do other things so again you decide

you do and this is just a matter of time until other people will see it

isn't that true freedom you decide and you make it a reality

this is at least for me what's self discipline is all about

the freedom self discipline is the freedom it is the freedom to choose

between what you want right now and what you want most

this is putting the power back into your hands isn't it

doesn't it make sense to you well in the next episode

we'll keep talking about self discipline from many other interesting angles

how can we use that for other benefits my message for you

in this episode is treat it as freedom the tool for you to get the freedom

you deserve the freedom of choice between you may want right now

and what you want most yes what you want most

so back to you back to you I have an interesting assignment for you

for the day think about something that you really want to do

compared to what you might want to do right now

think about it and just do the first step make a decision a decision

and do just the first step just the first step

and make this decision tangible so you can touch it

make a decision and just make the first step

make a decision for example that you gonna take care of your health

and go for the walk maybe a 3 min walk

take the stairs just a small decision

but put some action behind it yeah - get the power back

into your hands get the freedom you deserve

and do this of course till tomorrow and until tomorrow

until the next episode of the day 1 journey of course have

a great day a great an amazing day 1 see you tomorrow

Oliver MMA offers self-defence classes to protect kids from bullying - Duration: 2:35.

A mixed martial arts gym in West Auckland

is helping to keep kids safe from bullying and abuse.

New Lynn's Olivers Gym say

there have been too many incidents of school children

being chased and bullied.

And as Irena Smith reports

the gym is encouraging the community to use its facilities

as a safe environment.

Learning the tools to protect themselves on the streets.

The gym is not far from the New Lynn interchange.

Due to the increasing incidents happening to kids

waiting for the bus or walking home they have opened up their business

to the community

as a place they can come to and feel safe.

Oliver Gym teaches MMA and BJJ to kids and adults

including self-defence and they see the changes in the kids

from the time they first step through the door.

They first show up shy

and then they go away with the skills and confidence

to protect themselves from harm.

Hakaraia Wilson is also an MMA fighter

when he is not training himself

he is teaching these kids and their parents.

They can look after themselves and be strong and confident

there are a lot of bad people and drunks walking around

so they will be able to protect themselves and their friends.

If his students are this focused

they will be the ones to help change the tide of bad to good.

Improve Motivation and Self-Discipline 2019 - Motivation Theory - Duration: 4:47.

do you have a tendency to get really excited and motivated to do things only

to find yourself struggling to get motivated when things go off the tracks

a little bit when this happens how does it make you feel if you're anything like

me it makes you feel pretty bad studies show that people with higher levels of

self-discipline are happier they spend less time having that internal dialogue

with themselves whether or not to do something and they are less likely to

engage in behaviors that are not furthering their goals making it much

easier to make better decisions self-discipline people are not

controlled by impulses and are instead focused and in a mindset that leads them

to decisions that support their goals as a result and as you can probably guess

staying on track and focused helps you feel more satisfied with your life hello

everyone my name is John and this is motivation Theory today we're gonna be

going over three tips to help you improve motivation and self-discipline

but first if you are new to this channel this channel is for motivation for

inspiration it is for driven creative like-minded people who want to explore

topics that matter to us and if that sounds like your kind of thing this is

your channel please make sure you click that red subscribe button and that bell

if you want to get notifications each and every time I release new content oh

and if you're new to this channel please make sure that you have tagged new down

in the comments so that we can greet you appropriately it's probably safe to say

self-discipline and consistency is a regular challenge for most of us you may

be working on getting into shape creating content if you're a youtuber or

just getting motivated to do everyday tasks like cooking in home instead of

going out to eat reading motivational books watching

motivational videos and good intentions only get you so far so how do you

develop more drive motivation and self-discipline how do you tap into that

intrinsic motivation each day to keep you moving forward tip 1 change your

perception about willpower and what you think you can and can't do studies show

that the amount of willpower a person has is predetermined by their beliefs so

in more simple terms if you think you can't you won't don't make excuses as to

why you can't do certain things I cannot tell you how many times I hear people

say I just can't do certain things or I have never been good at certain things

that is a BS excuse you are looking for movement to build momentum not

perfection or to be the best at something you're just looking to get

moving toward the goal that you've set your internal conceptions about

willpower and self-control absolutely determine how much of either

one of those you actually have being honest with yourself and being

self-aware about skillsets is good but using them as an excuse to be lazy is

not get disturbed get honest with yourself so you stop making excuses and

start moving forward tip 2 the kiss method keep it simple working on

self-discipline and creating a new habit can feel overwhelming at first even more

so if you're really focused on the larger goal like graduating college are

running 50 or 100 miles to keep from feeling overwhelmed and staying away

from the analysis paralysis fees that we can somehow get drug into break your

goal into small achievable steps focus on smaller incremental steps and

executing them consistently to gain that confidence and self-discipline tip 3

build your self-discipline like a muscle self-discipline is like a constant

mental battle between the instant gratification of doing nothing versus

the goal or result you want and that has that discomfort in between that's what

you're fighting with that's what your body doesn't want to do your mind

doesn't want to do but it's important that you tolerate and even embrace these

feelings of discomfort in order to grow look we aren't born with self-discipline

self-discipline and turning extrinsic motivation that external reward system

we have out in life it's about turning that into an intrinsic motivation that

internal drive that thing that makes you who you are it makes you want to do the

things you want to do that's what bursts that drive inside of you that leads to

action it leads to a learned behavior and it is built up like a skill

some people get there quicker than others and it requires daily practice

and repetition and until actions become habits the efforts in focus that self

discipline requires will be something you have to work on every single day and

once you can understand how to win those daily mental battles those actions and

habits that you develop by doing that will become a part of who you are

instilling those feelings of power motivation and self-discipline

alright everyone that is all for today hopefully these tips help you

improve motivation and self-discipline and know the things that I leverage

every single day if you like this video please make sure you hit that thumbs up

and let me know what your favorite tip is down in the comments below and to

keep up with my content please hit that red subscribe button and click that bell

so you ensure you get the reminders when I post new content and until next time

see you

MILK BATH SELF PORTRAITS: yellow roses - Duration: 14:22.

Hi my name's Paige and welcome back to my channel! Can you see how messy my

room is in the background? Nothing has changed.

Um, today I want to do some milk bath self-portraits. It's been about a year.

So the milk bath self portrait video that I posted in January of 2018 is my most

viewed video it has 5,724 views as of

currently right now. My sister and I did do a milk bath portrait video but it

was just of her -- it wasn't of me and it seems like self portraits, people

are interested in seeing the process because a lot goes into it that no one

knows about, you know? I've been meaning

to do this for a long time, and today I

have off school, it's a Monday, it's snowing outside -- I can't really do anything else so

I'm like, "why don't I just do it?" Like let's just go for it.

This intro is way too long now so I'm just gonna -- we're just gonna go on to

the first part. The first thing that we have to do is pick out an outfit, which I

think I already have picked out. Okay so I picked out these two different

dresses that I've had for a while. My grandma thrifted this dress for me.

I don't remember how much she said it was, but it was pretty cheap and it has

this really pretty detailing like all the way down and this -- like -- nice ...

what's that even called? -- tulle. So we're gonna go with this one. Don't worry,

grandma, I'm going to wash it. It's gonna be fine -- she's not gonna be ruined.

She's gonna be okay, but yeah this is the one. Okay, so the next step is going to be

getting the milk powder, because before I used real milk but I've heard a

lot about powdered milk -- that's what it's called -- how powdered milk works really

well so I guess I'm just gonna go to the store and get some of that.

I will be right back.

It's cold.

All right let's go to Giant Eagle! Whoo!

Okay, so I'm back in my car. I found these flowers for only

five dollars...so I'm like, "I have to buy them." Because I feel like they could go

well -- I got cornstarch for my family -- but then also I just got 'milk' milk because

the powdered milk was freaking like $9 and I'm like...I'm not gonna

spend that much money on powdered milk when I'm only gonna use it for this shoot.

So I just bought normal milk. And I got the one that expires at the most

recent time so -- I should turn on my car before I try and drive it. So I only

spent like $8 on my things so -- ohmygosh someone's next to me. Okay I'm gonna like start my car and leave

Okay that's all. Okay I'm back! In addition to the little white flowers I

picked up at the store, I'm going to be using a few of these, too. I don't want to.

They're so pretty. All right, so right now what I'm going to do is kind of just get

everything ready I'm gonna go clean the bathroom -- make sure it's all nice

and organized and everything's out of it. All right, so I'm switching to the iPad

cam and going to continue cleaning the bathroom. So far all I've done is take

out the shower curtain, which I didn't do the past two shoots -- which I think is

gonna make things a lot easier, giving me -- asldhas -- give me some more space and

now I'm just gonna take a time-lapse of me cleaning the rest of the bathroom, so

let's get right into it.

All right, so the bathroom is all clean and all ready for me to get into it.

Now what I'm going to do is start to get ready. So I think for this look I want it

to be like fairly natural -- just kind of like soft and pretty and have the

yellow flowers. I think I want to use yellow flowers. And then kind of

maybe the eye look will be soft pink. Okay. Okay. Yeah, it's on me. This is so tight.

Okay so this is like: this part. It looks like I'm not wearing anything. And we're

gonna try and do a soft pink look. So that's what's gonna happen. All right.

Welcome to my pores! Using the beautiful James Charles palette and

we're just gonna go into this shade that I believe is called...pink drink.

And I'm just gonna blend. And disclaimer: I'm not a beauty guru, but I

enjoy makeup and I think that it's fun to do. So don't judge my bad skills.

Ooh! I should do this look more often. Okay, let's go into the next step. Okay so I

just wanted to talk about what I'm shooting with and the photography

equipment that I will be using. Okay, so I'm using my Canon EOS 80D camera.

Obviously, that's my favorite camera. It's my only camera. I'll be shooting with my

Canon 24mm 2.8 lens -- it's one of my favorite lenses. I really only shoot

with two lenses, to be honest. Of course, I will have my tripod who I named Craig. So

the last time I did this, I shot with my flash, which is -- I don't even know what

it's called -- so this is a Canon Speedlite 580 EX II. All right let's get started.

Okay, so now we're in the bathroom and this fan -- like I can't turn it off.

It is always on. If you remember in the last video, it was bad too.

So just bear with me. I'm going to try and figure out how to tape the iPad to

the wall. We're gonna use some painter's tape and some duct tape. So this will be

interesting.

Okay, so I have it set up. That's good. This is a good first thing.

Eh it's so tight.

In this section.

All right, so now I'm gonna try and set up my camera. Also I figured out if I

keep my dress like this then I can actually move in it. I just decided that

I should probably actually do the milk first. Because once I set this

camera up, it's gonna be so hard to maneuver so that's what I'm going to do.

First thing I have to do is connect my phone to my tripod. You connect it

with the Wi-Fi and then it becomes a remote. If you've seen the other one, you

would already know that. And this is super important: a plastic bag. Now, do

this at your own risk, but this is what I found has worked. And be warned if you

have epilepsy or something that you get bothered by flashes -- there will be a lot of

flashing in the next few minutes, so just like maybe skip past this part. I'll put

in a timestamp of when it stops. I'm just gonna leave these next to right here.

That way I can decide later. Let's just hop in.

Oh, my gosh -- what was I thinking? Okay. Okay. All right.

Oh, my gosh -- how am I even in here right now? I'm just gonna -- why is my flash not working? Okay.

Okay. There we go. Yo, this is gonna look awesome!

Oh, but it's so uncomfortable. Okay, well the nice thing is I can put it here

since the whole tub isn't in the frame. That's super nice.

YES! Yes. Absolutely. I'm so -- I'm already excited.

All right, back to the phone cam. So I just got a shower. I tried to like keep

my makeup as nice as possible and not get it everywhere. I think I did pretty

good. And now I'm gonna go and deal with the mess that I made. So, I'm gonna

go to Moe's and get some queso. Literally, my hair is a mess -- I don't even

care. I'm going into public like this. And yeah, I just wanted some queso because I

like worked up an appetite and I feel like I deserve it. So that's what I'm

gonna go do right now. Queso achieved. Okay, so now I'm just going to import all

of my pictures, and I'll just like switch over to screen recording now. All right.

All right, so I'm just gonna wrap things up right now. I'm still editing some of

the pictures, but by the time that I put the video together they'll be all finished.

So, I'm going to insert some of my favorites right here on the screen. I'm

really glad that I finally did this again. I've been meaning do this for a

while, and I've just been too lazy, or busy, or -- I don't know any insert any

other excuse. But, I'm really glad that I finally did this and if you want to do

a milk bath shoot, you totally should. Especially if it's self-portraits 'cause

it's super fun. I mean, a lot of work, but really fun. If you want to see more of

the pictures, you can follow me on my Instagram @paigespixel. Subscribe, like,

comment, share the video -- whatever you want to do. It's up to you. If you like

milk bath self portrait videos, let me know in the comments and maybe I'll do

another one. Maybe that's what my entire channel will

be -- just milk bath self portrait videos. So thank you so much, and...I never know what

to say here. Thanks for watching!...That was just unnatural. I'm -- I'm so sorry.

Alison Christiansen Speak About Self Compassion | My LA Therapy - Duration: 1:45.

Hi, my name is Alison Christiansen.

I'm a therapist and yoga instructor and I'd like to share with you the benefits of involving

self compassion in your healing process or in your therapy work.

Self-compassion refers to our relationship with our self and cultivating a relationship

that is patient and kind.

According to Buddhist principles, suffering is a part of life, so it's natural to go through

tough times and times of distress.

And when we bringing self-compassion,

that can bring a little bit more ease into our healing process.

There's a lot of ways to practice self-compassion for example,

you can examine your own self talk.

Do you talk to yourself in ways that are judgmental or negative or critical?

This kind of talk is very natural and working with some affirmations or positive self statements

about yourself can help to increase self-compassion.

You can also practice techniques like loving kindness meditation and any sort of self-care

activity that you treat yourself with kindness and respect.

Ultimately, as we develop more compassion for our self, we can have more genuine compassion

for others around us.

Whether that's friends, family or even someone you have a difficult relationship with.

It also helps us to have compassion of how we relate and interact with the world around

us and hopefully allows you to live with more freedom, ease, and peace.

If you're interested in more information about how I work, please feel free to contact me

or, I'm happy to do a free consultation with you over the phone to see if working together

might be a good fit.

SoundCloud now helps artists self distribute music to Spotify and other streaming platforms - Duration: 1:28.

SoundCloud now helps artists self distribute music to Spotify and other streaming platforms

SoundCloud that it is adding distribution to its self monetization Premier program. Those who are eligible in the open beta will now be able to self upload, monetize, and publish their songs to other streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Pandora for no additional cost — all from within SoundCloud. Notably, SoundCloud says those who use its distribution service will keep 100 percent of their distribution royalties from third party services.

To be eligible, users must have a SoundCloud Pro or Pro Unlimited account, have original music or own all the rights for applicable music , be 18 years old or age of majority in their country, have no copyright strikes, and have at least 1,000 plays in the past month from countries where SoundCloud monetizes.

Although distribution is offered as part and parcel of SoundClouds Premier program, this doesnt necessarily make it a free service. The costs dollar 72 annually, and it only allows you to distribute one release to all major services. Pro Unlimited costs dollar 144 annually, and it allows for unlimited distribution. Depending on how extensively you use the platform, this could actually make it a more expensive option than competitors like CD Baby, which starts at dollar 29 per album, and Distrokid, which is dollar 19.99 a year with unlimited distribution. Spotify took a last fall, allowing artists in its beta self monetization program to for free and then self distribute through the Spotify for Artists dashboard.

Premier user sent The Verge screenshots of what the SoundCloud distribution process looks like for those that are eligible. Primary outlets that can be selected include Amazon, Apple Music, Deezer, Facebook and Instagram for their audio libraries , the Google Play Store, iHeart Radio, iTunes, Pandora, Spotify, Tidal, and Napster and all other current and future services . Songs must be submitted in WAV or FLAC format, and theres a form to fill out for identifying information like release title, primary artist, genre, and album artwork. You can then immediately submit for distribution, or schedule distribution for a later time. SoundCloud will give you an estimated date for when your material will be live on the platforms you select.

SoundCloud first made its self monetization program public last October, and following that pointed out its unfair terms, it . The Verge has obtained a copy of SoundClouds new self distribution contract and found it to be agreeable. SoundCloud says users who are eligible to self distribute will be notified via email and on SoundCloud beginning today.

Developing Self Belief - Duration: 2:40.

James Schramko here. I want to talk about confidence today.

Confidence is something a business owner needs to have.

If you're going to strike out from being an employee,

you're going to need confidence. So how do you get confidence?

I've noticed a cycle. Quite a lot of entrepreneurs have a dip.

They can have high highs, sometimes even manic.

And then they have very low lows like crashing lows.

So when I talk to them, I reflect back on what things

have they achieved that they were proud about.

What things have they been able to put out

to the marketplace that gave them validation?

I remember, for me, I drew a lot on my sporting success

into my business success, my sales success

and that gave me solid foundations to feel more confident

to back myself, because ultimately that's what you're doing

as an entrepreneur.

You're backing yourself out there

in the big wide world. And build on that.

If you've published a book,

if you've made a course,

if you've got an offer that converts,

if people actually put money into your account,

if you can help people make a decision with the sales process,

if you've got customers results, document them.

Whenever someone sends me,

on a daily basis, some nice comments either on social media

Like documentation now! lost his stars – and hugged his true self [Hot] - Duration: 12:32.

If you ask Seth Meyers to give you Documentary Now! giving a lift distance, two things become obvious

One of these is that Meyers, as one of the creators and lead authors of the show, has obviously been thinking a lot about this issue to find out how the series draws on a unique mix of sketch comedy, real documentary films, and a profound commitment to mimicry – something shocking human his fantasies of the non-fiction book

The second is that after three seasons, he still is not sure what he and his colleagues did

"It's basically loving parodies of existing documentary films," Meyers offers if he's to summarize the show in a single sentence

But the backtrack comes fast and adds extra words to the definition: "Somehow, parody does not sound quite right," he says

"However, it's the closest word I have in my vocabulary." Later in the conversation, he will also go through "recuperation" and "satire" and discard before finally asking, "Cmon, we can!" What's the word ?! Meyers' Associates, Alex Buono and Rhys Thomas &#821 1; Scholarship Saturday Night Live Alumni who have directed each episode of the IFC series and who are the late night of the Wirt is often referred to as the institutional soul of the program – is more firmly stated in his statement: "It is a loving homage to documentary films

For specific documentary films, for the idea of the documentary, "Buono offers and speaks to someone who had to describe the series more than once quickly and clearly, more recently, when the star of the big stars became known

"It's not a parody. It's not a sketch comedy. We do not make fun of anyone, "he adds, emphasizing a sweetie that has grown on the show since the early days of Gray Gardens Dave's VICE riffs

"We are not here to laugh at ."     In the meantime, ask anyone who has seen the first two seasons of the series – or rather the 50th and 51st, as Lady Helen Mirren quickly reminds us – and maybe you'll get a simpler (and in many ways less Exactly) Answer: "This fake documentary show in which Fred Armisen and Bill Hader play the lead roles

" In the first two years ] Documentation now! was essentially The Fred And Bill Show ; While in the occasional episode only one or the other member of the couple could be seen, the sketch comedy veterans were consistently prominent and served as a reassuring, repetitive presence for a series that transformed from gothic horror into a heartwarming family drama full-blown concert film passed over each passing week

In this process, Armisen and Hader have acted as a repertoire of two-man companies, ranging from soulless political fixers to good-natured al-Capone imitators, with stops for sweet-stupid chicken cooks (Armisen), a cadavered Robert Evans farewell (Hader) and vicious murderers (both more than once) on the way

What part of Documentary Now! 's third season is – premiering tonight with the cult pastiche "Batsh * t Valley" – so radical

It may take a minute to notice, with famous faces like Owen Wilson and Michael Keaton flooding the screen, but the show's new reality will eventually settle: no Fred and no Bill to be seen

And though stubborn fans of the season will eventually end up with a handful of episodes of Armisen fronts – three of them in total – of the six fake documents being shown, the last Emmy winner, Hader, does not appear at all for the third season of the show

[19659003] Hader's absence is understandable and expected, of course; Barry is currently a big hit in HBO Land and Doc Now! has always been something of a sideline or love affair for just about everyone involved, from Meyers through late night productive Armisen to John Mulaney, who, if he does not write several episodes a season, is considered one of the moonwars largest stand-up comics in the world

There is a reason why the show has not produced new episodes for more than two years, and that's not because those involved did not want the program on air

"When we first started the show, we always thought that might be the future," Meyers remarks on the decision, Hader and (to a lesser extent) Armisen for a rotating crew of celebrity guest stars for this year's show show exchange

Meyers, Thomas, and Buono, who talk about the inevitability of change, complain about the loss of Hader, a natural chameleon who can instantly turn from a lovable man into a lizardman

Although the warmest moments in the series often come from "Fred" episodes, all three call the season "A Town, A Gangster, A Festival" and Season 2 "Juan Likes Chicken And Rice" as personal favorites

They should always have their ideal version of Documentary Now! Capturing & # 39; s humanistic atmosphere – there is a wild quality of Hader that always causes the show not to fall into utter sentimentality, to coolly move through "Mr

Vamping." Runner Up "or completely from the Spalding Gray Reef" Parker Gails Location is Everything "

If you look at the third season of the show, it's not hard to see spaces where a Hader performance "fits"

It would be easy to imagine him slipping into the oversized sunglasses of Necar Zadegan as the evil cult speaker in the Batsh * t Valley or playing Michael C

Hall's deadly bowling prodigy in Any Given Saturday Afternoon. But it would also be a mistake to view these new events as a series of second-season episodes reused in which Wite-Out was occasionally sprayed on their casting pages

Without one of the core components of its identity, Documentary Now! also loses one of the aspects that defined it, for better or for worse; While Buono and Thomas are careful not to talk about their friends and colleagues in glittering terms, they are obviously glad to break away from a "limitation" that sets limits to the kinds of stories that the series might tell

Or in Buono's words, "When we realized that we could not have Bill, it became an interesting problem to say, 'So we can not have two white men in a two-handed hand in each episode

& # 39; " Sometimes this development is as simple as applying the show's considerable talents to non-Hader or Armisen obsessions, like Mulaney's technically ridiculous Sondheim tribute "Co-Op"

a take on DA Pennebaker's company: Original Cast Recording. A Celebration of Doc Now! s endless dedication to the flawless execution of a ruthless idea, the episode comes complete with guest appearances by Broadway stars Renée Elise Goldsberry, Alex Brightman, and Richard Kind, an erupting blast of AP Bio & # 39; s Paula Pell and an original score of idiotically humble songs, at least one of which will be the showstopper of the series

It's an almost perfect cataloging of Mulaney's special fixations – in the same way that "Soft & Soft: The History of the Blue Jean Committee" has captured the soft rock solipsism of Armisen and Hader – and he partially thrives ] There is no known face that breaks through the illusion of his pastiche that is ready for the past

When chatting with the show's creative team, a chorus often appears: Documentary Now! is aggressive no sketch comedy

When Meyers expresses his continuing discomfort at the horror movie finale of the series' first episode, "Sandy Passage," he describes it as a "very sketchy comedy idea

" Buono (who worked with Thomas on SNL 's filmed video page) makes it clear that he considers the dedication of the series to emotional grounding and storytelling as the things that take her from a two-to-one three-minute sketch differ

However, the show SNL has always relied on Armisen and Hader. This was largely thanks to the strengths of the series, which made it possible to tap into the work of two of the world's most experienced comic actors, breathing life into a series of ridiculous, self-absorbed, often disturbed men

But no matter how well Armisen and Hader vanish in parts, there is still a predictability that seeps in by the dozen or midnight when they appear in a talking head

And there are parts and stories for which they are simply not prepared. Take the biggest swing of the season in terms of guest casting: Two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett plays a variation on performance artist Marina Abramović In "Waiting for the Artist", Armisen and Hader both have shown that they are women can play on a level that defies simple notions like "parody", but it would still be hard to swallow a story about female artistic empowerment – especially from a creative team that is so overwhelmingly white and masculine – without a woman with leadership qualities In the main role

And because we've never seen Blanchett playing other characters on the show, the little voice in the back of her mind is short-circuited, whispering "This is such a hader part" every time it appears on the screen

Instead, she is simply Abramović (19459004), or rather Izabella Barta, creator of masterpieces of modern art such as the obviously self-injurious series "Bucket"

(It does not hurt that Blanchett is not surprisingly gifted to feed the stupidity of her characters' artistic ideas without sacrificing his dignity and humanity

) Buono and Thomas often argue to dissuade their authors from the urge to turn the show into a show to make a joke of the jokes that ruins the reality of his carefully designed universes

The role of a performer of Blanchett's skill in this section has a similar effect: by forcibly renouncing Hader's comic abilities, the third season of the fake documentary films of the series feels "more real" than anything that has come before

"Those with whom I am happiest are the ones who forget that they are based on something and take care of these characters," says Meyers, as he is asked about his favorite episodes, the series

"The best episodes are one in which you get into an unfamiliar landscape," notes Thomas, repeating the feeling in a separate interview

Documentary Now! Losing one of its two most famous faces – and the relationship of the others to a handful of parts – formally invades uncharted territory

Everyone involved realizes that they would welcome the original stars of the show with welcome arms when free time eventually becomes infinite, although they will likely continue to integrate it into the wider range of talent that is currently available to them

At the moment, however, the support wheels are off: Documentary Now! may not be easy to define, but whatever it is, it comes to its own – and when you talk about a show that was already one of the best and most interesting series on TV, it's still worth celebrating what has been lost
