If you're interviewing for a technical job whether it's in analytics, engineering,

software development or anything else, you need to be prepared to talk about your technical

background.

Interviewers are looking for you to articulate what you've accomplished and what your skills

are in business terms, and they're also looking to see how much you can engage them

on this content.

I'll teach you how to engage your interviewer so you stand out as a really strong candidate.

I'm Jen with The Career Force.

We help smart, career minded professionals stand out in today's job market.

If you want more career information, specifically on technical careers, check back every week

or subscribe to the channel.

It's really common to be asked the interview question, "Tell me about yourself."

And while you might get that question, you might also get this, "Tell me about your

technical background question."

It might kick off the interview.

In that case, the interviewer is really looking to loosen you up, get some ideas of things

you've done before, and get some ideas of what other questions they want to ask you.

Maybe it happens a little later in the interview.

Treat it the same way.

You're trying to engage them, tease them with enough information that they really want

to know more about you.

So what's the best way to talk about your technical background?

We're going to use the method of talking about your present, your past, and then your

future.

By using this method, you hook in the interviewer with what's going on now, what you've

accomplished, then you tell a little bit of your backstory, and you connect with why you

want this new position that you're interviewing for.

We're really looking to not just regurgitate your resume.

You don't want to just say the same things that they've had in writing and probably

looked at a handful of times.

You're really trying to create a story.

You want to be really engaging.

You want it to have a flow to it.

This isn't just bullet point, bullet point, bullet point.

That can be especially tricky on a technical position because you might feel like you just

have a checklist to go down through.

We can make it really engaging which helps draw the interviewer in.

That's going to make you stand out, whether you realize it or not, the more you can build

some rapport and connection with your interviewer, even if it's subconscious, they're going

to say, "I really liked this person.

I really connect with this person."

And it can also give you some edge over other candidates, especially if technically you're

on par with each other.

Every good story starts out with a captivating intro, and your career technical story isn't

any different.

When you're talking about your technical background, think through the summary of everything

that you've done in your career.

How can you sum it up?

How have you saved money, generated revenue, improved processes?

Talk about that, and talk about that in terms of your present.

Here's what a sample response for the first part of this, the present, might sound like.

"I'm an experienced big data analyst who has led the implementation of new analytics

platforms and driven data visualization projects across large organizations.

My work has led to innovative breakthroughs in the industry."

This is a fairly high level response, but highlights some key accomplishments that you've

had in your career.

Now that you have their attention, move to the past and talk a bit about your experience

so far.

Talk about technically how you've progressed, especially if you can show a growth in your

skill levels.

Focus your story on past situations and experiences that connect as much as possible to this new

position.

Look at the job description for ideas.

What are they talking about?

Are they looking for skills in certain programming languages, or are you having certain problems

that you're trying to solve.

Focus your response in this area.

Your response in this area talking about your past, might sound like this: "I started

my career as an analyst at a company x where I standardized the analytics tools to Python

which also enabled a cleaner back end data structure.

I moved into a senior analyst role where I continued to develop my coding skills and

also focused on increasing our use of data visualization using Qlikview, Power BI, and

SQL.

I've also been involved in the industry to help develop training and network with

others to engage and continuously help me improve my skills."

Now it's time to move onto the future and talk about why you're interested in this

role and why you're a great candidate.

This part of your response about your technical background might sound like this: "I really

enjoyed working with all of these areas of analytics and am looking forward to driving

more innovation."

This part of your answer also highlights to the employer that you understand what's

expected in a new position and how you're looking forward to addressing it.

This whole answer was fairly short.

I think maybe six sentences or so.

It gave a complete synopsis of your experience at the high level that talked specifically

about what that employer was looking for.

Expect that your interviewer is going to ask you additional questions off of this, probably

more detail about specific thing you mentioned during this answer.

Make sure that whatever you answer, you're comfortable going into more detail about later

on.

Is GHEE better than Grass Fed Butter for Fat Loss? (Answer) - Duration: 3:10.

Hey, hey, hey everybody.

What is up?

Shaun Hadsall here, the owner of Get

Lean in 12 and stubborn fat expert

coming at you with another no hype rapid fat loss tip

and trick video.

Today's featured fat burning food

that I've been getting a lot of questions about is ghee.

Ghee.

What is the difference between grass fed butter and ghee?

Ghee is clarified butter.

So this is actually dairy-free butter,

so it's free of things like casein.

So if you're lactose intolerant, it's

a great option to use instead of butter, which has dairy in it

or grass fed butter even.

Also ghee tastes just like butter, but it's more buttery.

I think that makes sense, right?

It tastes actually more buttery than butter itself.

it.

Is amazing.

I even use it in my coffee sometimes.

Also, it's rich in CLA, Conjugated Linoleic Acid, which

is a friendly fat that is derived from the grass fed

cows which is produced from.

Now, I also wrote down, or I should

say printed out a few other things, benefits of ghee.

Now, the first 1 is it's great for cooking.

It has a high smoke point, about 450 degrees.

It's also very high in vitamin K. Vitamin

K is linked to stronger bones.

Also, it contains butera.

Butera basically is an essential short chain fatty

acid that can give you weight loss

benefits similar to coconut oil, and it's also

very anti-inflammatory.

So it reduces inflammation in the digestive track.

It's also very high in vitamins A, D, and E.

So do yourself a favor, add some ghee to your plan.

Make sure it's organic like this is.

This is non-GMO.

It's organic.

It's dairy-free.

It tastes delicious.

It has all kinds of health benefits.

It is a fat that can help you burn more fat.

Trump gives shocking answer when asked if he's always been honest - Daily News - Duration: 8:14.

President Donald Trump, who often exaggerates, makes unverified claims, or misstates facts, argued that he tries to be truthful when ever he can be

'I always want to tell the truth. When I can, I tell the truth,' he said.He also seemed to indicate if his statements aren't the truth, it's because of an outside circumstance

'I mean sometimes it turns out to be where something happens that is different or there's a change but I always like to be truthful,' the president said

His astonishing claim was made during an interview with ABC News before his rally in Florida on Wednesday where he also claimed the migrant caravan headed to the U

S. border was made up of mostly young men and women and children were being pushed to the front just to be photographed

ABC's Jonathan Karl had pressed the president on a campaign promise from the 2016 election, when Trump vowed: 'I will never lie to you

I will never tell you something I do not believe.''So can you tell me now, honestly, have you kept that promise at all times? Have you always been truthful?' Karl asked him

'I try. I do try. I think you try too. You say things about me that are not necessarily correct

I do try,' the president said.  Fact checkers, such as the Pulitzer Prize winning site Politifact, have consistently rated the president as giving false hoods

The Washington Post fact checker notes that in Trump's first 100 days in the White House, he had 492 false claims

Share this article Share And, in his interview with ABC, Trump made the unverified claim the migrant caravan is made up of 'mostly young men' with women and children being used purely for photos

'It's a lot of young people, lot of young men - they are pushing the women right up to the front - not good - and the kids right up to the front,' Trump said

But photos show the caravan consists of all ages and genders, including what appears to be families

And the United Nations has estimated there appear to be 2,300 children among the group

Trump has, on occasion, admitted he doesn't have proof of claims he's made.Last week, the president conceded he does not have proof there are Middle Easterners in the migrant caravan - a claim he had made repeatedly - but said there 'could very well could be

''There's no proof of anything, there's no proof of anything but they very well could be,' Trump said at a bill signing in the Oval Office

And White House officials are often asked to verify or clarify claims the president has made or to give additional details

At her press briefing last week, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was pushed to clarify who the president was referring to when he talked about the media being 'the enemy of the people

'CNN's Jim Acosta pushed her to explain why the White House wouldn't 'reserve the term enemy of the people for people who are actually the enemy of the United States rather than journalists

'She replied that 'the president is not referencing all media, he's taking about the growing amount of fake news that exists in the country

' 'I'm not gonna walk through a list,' she said as Acosta tried to force her to admit he was referring to CNN

'I don't think it's necessarily specific to a broad generalization of a full outlet at times

I think there's individuals that the president would be referencing.'Several news organizations and non-profits offer fact checks of the president's claims

For example, when the president tweeted about voter fraud on Oct. 20, the Associated Press offered a check of his claim

'All levels of government and Law Enforcement are watching carefully for VOTER FRAUD, including during EARLY VOTING

Cheat at your own peril. Violators will be subject to maximum penalties, both civil and criminal!,' Trump tweeted

And the AP noted: 'He's exaggerating the extent of voting fraud. The actual number of fraud cases is very small, and the type that voter IDs are designed to prevent - voter impersonation at the ballot box - is virtually nonexistent

'  Trump has been challenged on this issue before. When he sat down with '60 Minutes'' Leslie Stahl in early October, she used the occasion to question him on something he often says when making a point, using the generic phrase: 'they say

'When he did it in talking about climate change, Stahl challenge him on who are 'they

''They say that we had hurricanes that were far worse than what we just had with Michael,' Trump said

'Who says that? 'They say'?,' Stahl asked.'People say. People say that,' Trump responded, declining to get more specific

In that interview, Trump also had strong words for Washington D.C.'s political establishment, calling them 'vicious

' 'I always used to say the toughest people are Manhattan real estate guys and blah, blah

Now I say they're babies,' he said.He added: 'They're babies, the political people

This is the most deceptive, vicious world. It is vicious, it's full of lies, deceit and deception

You make a deal with somebody and it's like making a deal with that table.'Trump was a political outsider when he was elected, having never previously held public office

He went to say of the U.S. capitol that 'it's a very deceptive world. The other thing I've really learned is I never knew how dishonest the media was

And I really mean it. I'm not saying that as a sound bite.'Stahl interrupted him: 'I'm gonna change the subject again

'Trump snapped at her again: 'Well, no, even the way you asked me a question, like, about separation

When I say Obama did it, you don't wanna talk about it.'''I'm gonna run your answer, but you did it four times,' Stahl said

'I'm just telling you that you treated me much differently on the subject,' Trump complained

'I disagree, but I don't wanna have that fight with you,' Stahl said.Trump responded: 'Hey, it's okay

''All right, I'll get in another fight with you,' she said. 'Lesley, it's okay. In the meantime, I'm president and you're not,' Trump said

Senator Donnelly Under Fire After "Cringeworthy" Debate Answer - Duration: 1:29.

Senator Joe Donnelly (D-IN) gave an incredibly awkward answer about diversity during Indiana's

Senate debate on Tuesday, saying that he has an African American and an Indian American

on his staff, "BUT" they do a great job.

Many feel his answer makes it sound as if minorities are handicapped in capability by

their race.

From USAToday

Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly made an awkward and cringeworthy word choice when describing

his commitment to diversity during Tuesday night's U.S. Senate debate, a moment that's

drawing some national attention.

When asked about how the candidates would promote diversity, Donnelly responded: "Our

state director is Indian American, but he does an amazing job.

Our director of all constituent services, she's African American, but she does an

even more incredible job than you could ever imagine.

It isn't their race or their religion, it's the incredible person that they are."

The issue is the word "but."

According to Webster, "but" is used to draw a contrast from the preceding phrase,

making it appear to some that Donnelly was saying his staffers do amazing jobs despite

having diverse backgrounds.
