Sometimes in certain areas, creativity is stifled.

I was in a homeless shelter, an all-women's homeless shelter

and I could only play D minor on the bass.

And then I was just practicing because my mom made me practice

and then I opened my eyes.

There were all these women surrounding me and clapping for me, hugging each other,

so this was a place that had been full of depression,

and in that one moment, it was just total happiness.

And then I felt changed that day too because I said,

my life—I'm a vessel. I can really impact people's lives

no matter how old they are.

This music matters. This music is spiritual.

When I teach the kids, it reminds me of my upbringing.

Music was like an escape. That was the only place

that I wouldn't be able to think about everything going on outside, all the tough conditions.

Music was my escape.

So I can be that same vessel to the kids and that's what I love about it.

Because a lot of the kids go through a lot that kids shouldn't go through.

So I'm just happy that they can be in a space where they can just be themselves.

What do you do? Special Education Paraeducators - Duration: 1:50.

I was a long term sub here at Madison.

I then became a full-time paraeducator.

That's where the majority of paraeducators start, subbing and seeing what is the best

environment for you.

I got into this as a side job when my kids started school.

You get your summers and your weekends and your vacations off so you're not worrying about childcare.

And when I was in the classroom I fell in love with the people that were working there and the kids.

One day can be a really rough day and we can have a lot of behaviors.

And the next day, it's amazing, and the kids are on and they make us laugh and we make them laugh.

Stacey treats us as equals.

If we have ideas for the kids that we think might work she hears us out, she decides yes

or no - a lot of times she decides yes - and it's just, it works really well.

You definitely have to have, you know, thick skin when it comes to verbal things that kids

say to you and, you know, aggression.

But I truly think that if you love this area of work then all of that goes away.

Some of the challenges are some of the behaviors, but they do give us right response training,

teaching us on how to help deescalate a child before they get to that crisis mode.

If you become a paraeducator, you love what you do. And that's why I'm still here.

I just absolutely adore what I do.

I love watching the kids come in and they may be low, they may not be able to sit, and

by the time they're with us for even a few days they blossom and become amazing people.

Trump Violating Court Orders By Pushing Abstinence-Only Education - Duration: 3:50.

Senate Democrats have sent a letter to Alex Azar with the health and Human Services, uh,

alleging that the Trump administration is breaking the law by not following five different

court orders that said that the administration cannot reallocate money from the teen pregnancy

prevention program that Obama set up in 2010.

Now this is a program funded by several hundred million dollars that is meant again established

by Obama in 2010 to help educate high schoolers and other American teens on pregnancy prevention

methods, you know, safe sex, condoms, things like that, you know, informing them and helping

them to get these things they need.

And as a result, teen pregnancy rates in the United States have plummeted faster than they

ever have in our nation's history.

And this program is a big part of the reason why.

But here's what's happened with the Trump administration.

This is why five different, uh, uh, court rulings have said you have to stop doing this.

The Trump administration took all that money for this program and instead used it to hire

private organizations to go out in this country and teach abstinence only policies.

Now, for a second, I want you to think about the hypocrisy of that.

The Trump administration led by Donald Trump himself is out there telling kids, don't have

sex ever.

Donald Trump has the audacity to go out there and tell American citizens that they shouldn't

be having sex.

Um, I, I hope everybody sees the irony.

I hope everybody sees the hypocrisy as this, as a man who struggles daily to keep it in

his pants anytime he's around, a woman who he finds attractive, but nonetheless, we also

have a very real problem to deal with.

Now, with the money going to these abstinence only programs, what's going to happen, which

is the, what's happened in the past, teen pregnancy rates are going to continue to go

up after falling to record lows faster than ever.

Those numbers are going to once again rise because we're not going to tell people about

how to have safe sex.

We're not going to teach them about prophylactics.

We're just going to tell them that the only way to not get pregnant is to not have sex

that has never worked in this country's history.

That's not how it works.

States that have implemented abstinence only sex education have seen higher rates of teen

pregnancy then states where they're taught safe sex procedures, but this administration,

I'm assuming Mike Pence had to have a hand in this.

This has Pence, his name written all over it, decided that the best way to do this is

to just go out there and teach kids that sex is evil, sex is bad, and if you have sex,

you will immediately become pregnant and ruin your entire life.

Well, that's not what happens.

Be Smart, be responsible and be safe.

That's the message that was coming out of DC from this federally funded program for

eight years and then the Trump administration came along and again, I'm willing to bet this

is Mike Pence is doing.

And they said, nope, we don't care that teen pregnancies falling.

We don't care that this program is a huge success.

We want to defunded and send that money to abstinence only programs because we have to

continue to pander to the religious right.

Even though if you look at our own personal lives, we're a bunch of liars and hypocrites,

but don't worry, the religious right doesn't seem to care about that.

All they care about is making sure that teenagers aren't.

They're having sex of any kind at all.

EDS Education Program Part 1 - Duration: 7:50.

Hello and welcome to EDS short education program.

My name is Adam and I will guide you in this program.

The program contains twelve short videos which are aiming to make you familiar with the concept

of EDS.

Once you walk trough this set of videos you will the following:

What is an EDS system?

What benefits you can get from such a system for your organizations.

What are the steps that needed to implemented in such a system and how many resources it

takes?

We hope you enjoy this set of videos and we encourage you to register in our web site

in order to get access to the full list of education and marketing material related to

water quality events detection.

So, what is an EDS.

EDS stands for Early Detection System.

It is a system which enables you to detect abnormal conditions before the situation becomes

critical.

The most common examples are systems which are used for detecting abnormal credit transactions.

For example, when a credit card has been duplicated or stolen.

Another example are systems which are used to detect abnormal conditions in the operation

of cars or aircrafts.

The main target of EDS is to gain time.

Meaning to inform relevant decision makers that some pending problem may be waiting to

be solved before it becomes a crisis.

Machine learning is a mathematical methodology which enables to learn patterns of behavior

from data.

It is widely used in marketing, and economics.

Scientists refer to two main fields of machine learning.

Supervised learning and un-supervised learning.

The un-supervised learning which is more relevant in this case refers to a situation in which

true events are rare or in some cases have never been seen.

For example, an event of intrusion of contamination to a specific water reservoir may not occur

in the history of a specific site.

Given that how do you expect a computerized system to identify such an event for the first

time?

The answer is given by the following table.

Events can be classified by two attributes.

They can be Bad or Good.

And they can be Common or rare.

most of the time when we collect data about water quality the situation is good and common.

A system which is commonly bad should be replaced.

This leaves us with the rare cases.

Good rare are harmless and in most cases, they happen only in

fairy tales.

The problem are the rare cases which may lead to bad situations.

The aim of an EDS system is to learn to detect the bad rare cases.

The challenge is not to alert when the situation is rare good but only in case of rare bad.

What is needed in order to implement Mindset-Detector EDS?

If you don't have on line sensors there is not much, we can do.

But if you already have on-line sensors installed in your water network, or if you have a SCADA

system which collects all the data to one location, moving forward to the next step

is very simple.

All you have to do is transmit the data to our cloud system.

Mindset-Detector is an Amazon Web Services based system.

We use separate Amazon server for each of our customers.

AWS servers are safe and secure.

Only authorized personal may access the data on the server.

Access is allowed only from a known IP address.

We build the detection models for you.

We tune the models and we backup the system regularly.

The water utility does not have to be concerned about any of the management activities which

make the EDS work.

We take care of that.

The only thing which the user needs to do is to approve events classification.

And what about the price?

No upfront payment.

Monthly fee per actual running monitoring models.

Payment is performed only after you consumed the service.

What are the main benefits that you can get

from an EDS system? 1.

Self-auto learning of the statistical borders.

2.

Recognize anomalous leaps that don't violate the low-high user-limits.

3.

Violating engineering rules.

4.

Detection of long-term patterns before those become

critical and calculate the time to alarm.

5.

Detection of low-quality data (static parameter, unlikely time period

, fixed noise).

6.

Unordinary behavior of the I/O cards.

7.

Detection of abnormal event combination.

8.

Detection of event combinations previously defined as dangerous and calculation their

approximate time of occurrence.

9.

Unreasonable noise distinction in the system.

10.

Detection of unexplained variance between different monitoring stations

What is the next step?

We do not ask you to believe us.

Just contact our technical support.

Send a test data set and we will schedule a demo for you.

Please use the email on screen to create contact with our technical team.

We hope you will enjoy this set of videos and you will be interested to implement our

EDS system.
