Auto news on Youtube Feb 24 2018

A twelve-year-old YouTube gamer has been through a whirlwind of emotion after a

swatting incident took place at his home. Welcome back to What's Trending, I'm Shira

Lazar. Be sure to like this video and subscribe for more social media news

daily. Peter Varady, who goes by Rolly

Rancher on YouTube, was streaming Fortnite when he got paired up with

YouTube gamer Cizzorz in a duo's match. Cizzorz who has over 850,000

subscribers encouraged fans to subscribe to Rolly Rancher on YouTube as well.

And sure enough, people did.

With Cizzorz help, Rolly Rancher's channel flew past

a 100,000 subscribers in just a couple of days.

Cizzorz continued to promote Peter's channel through Twitch and YouTube and

made this kid's week. Unfortunately, the notoriety brought Peter an unintended

consequence. I'm going to end my stream you now. A frightened and tearful 12-year-old

YouTube gamer after paramedics and police suddenly swarm his home. It was

probably the scariest moment of my life. A 911 call was placed in their area

saying that both Peter and his mother were going to hang themselves. Police and

paramedics rushed into their home scaring the living bejesus out of them.

When Cizzorz found out about the incident, he freaked out. He tweeted: "In 24

hours we helped a kid go from 400 subscribers on youtube to over 87,000... I

was just told that someone Swatted him tonight on his livestream. I feel so

awful. There are some terrible people in this world. The kid is only 12 years old.

I hope whoever did it, rots in a cell. The LAPD is investigating, but has not yet

identified the swatter. Whoever's doing this must think it's really funny, but

swatting is actually very dangerous. Tyler Barriss faces up to 11 years in

prison. He's charged with involuntary manslaughter after placing a call that

sent the SWAT team to the Kansas home of Andrew Finch. Finch was shot and killed

by a Wichita police officer who the department says thought Finch was

reaching to his waistband and getting something to point at police. Finch was

unarmed and uninvolved in the events that led police to his home. In

interviews, Barriss said he's been paid to make such calls in the past, but declined

to say whether he was paid to make the call

which resulted in Finch's death. He now, of course, regrets the incidents.

I hope no one ever does

it ever again. I hope, I hope it's just something that ceases to exist. And in

Baltimore in 2015, 20 year-old Tyron Dobbs was shot in the face by police

after a swatting call.

And recently in Los Angeles,

police responded to what they thought was a hostage situation at the Peninsula

Beverly Hills Hotel. It's frustrating. He won't say it, but it's frustrating to

police that the huge amount of resources. I mean, you're talking about a staff of

100 or so out here. The SWAT team, all the equipment, and a lot of fear, you know?

Parents and the kids over in Beverly Hills High School worried, all the people

in the Peninsula Hotel, they evacuated some rooms concerned as well here. This

swatting incident apparently originated from inside the hotel, not another

location. Fortunately this time, nobody was hurt. Of course it's wrong to make a

prank call that results in full police action, but hopefully this is also a

message to police to not shoot unarmed people. This whole trend is unfortunate,

but it sucks when it involves really young kids too. Who are basically going to be

scarred for the rest of their lives because of a stupid prank. So why would

someone make a swatting call especially now that we know the consequences? Let us

know in the comments below, be sure to like and subscribe for more of What's

Trending.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate you doing this.

Not at all, Barry.

Curious myself.

Yeah, and it's not like a competition, you know?

Well, it is a competition.

But, you know, it's not like a macho measuring thing.

But if I win, you're off the team.

-No... -Oof.

If I win,

Bruce said something about you having to take us all to brunch?

Oh, see, now that's cold. That's a betrayal.

I feel stung by that.

Okay, but if I win, I get to tell everyone.

Deal.

Ah, you know, I've never seen the Pacific.

Which is that way.

Ooh, I cannot work out on a full stomach.

That's like workout 102.

I guess I'll just watch HGTV until I'm not full anymore.

want a more mid-century modern.

Classic Bill.

Digital Story: Melat Weldeselasie - Duration: 3:28.

Hello everyone my name is Melat Weldeselasie I am a senior in the College of

Biological Sciences studying biology and anthropology and this is how it all

started I've always said I wanted to change the

world and each time the universe would respond with you have to know the world

to change the world so when the time finally came to leave I set out to get

to know the world and ended up on the third floor of Middlebrook Hall on the

West Bank of the U in a community called Students Crossing Borders. A few outings

food deliveries and late-night talks later this place quickly became my home

away from home. I found my people and the compartments in which I had stored the

different parts of my identity quickly dissolved and they got to know all of me

from the snow loving Christmas obsessed South Dakotan to the die-hard Ethiopian

who couldn't resist shaking her shoulders or jumping up on stage at the

first sound of traditional Ethiopian music they fueled my love for adventure

through their stories from home while encouraging me to explore and share my

own. This microcosmic global community became my solid foundation and I wanted

to expand on this foundation and eventually share all that I have learned

to the greater campus community. From Impressionism and Art and France to a

pay it forward service trip across the northern United States and from Science

and Galileo and Italy to NGOs and Global Health in India I made it my continued

mission to see the world that I was a part of and learn as much from it as

possible. Student leadership was another passion

of mine and the important avenue through which I shared my global experiences and

perspectives. From peer mentorship roles and CBS to leadership roles and student

groups embodying the importance of internationalization and guiding

conversations to more critically think about ideas from a global perspective

became one of my favorite things to do. Coming back to the community that

started it all to work as a community advisor for the Students Crossing

Borders Living Learning Community is one of the most rewarding experiences that

I've had. Working to foster a community that could potentially have the same

impact on others as it did for me was what kept me around

for the next two years. Being an advocate for my residents and the greater

international community here at the U is something that I take seriously and

something that has been critical in the past couple of years with changing

national and campus climates it is more important now than it has been in a long

while to promote internationalization and the importance of international

education. We live in an increasingly global world and the more we

internationalize the more we are able to be successful and happy in this world

There is so much beauty in this world that needs to be explored, beauty in our

people, beauty in our culture, beauty in our languages and beauty even in our

shared experiences and the anthropologist in me might be showing

just a little but I truly believe that having an international campus brings us

a hundred times closer to recognizing and valuing this beauty. I've had

incredible mentors throughout my undergraduate journey and I would like

to especially thank Jane and Kristen for leading by example and supporting my

growth. Thank you so much for this honor it means a lot.

Digital Marketing 101 - Retargeting - Duration: 1:38.

hey guys I hope you're doing well and I wanted to record this little video for

you guys I'm in essence about that one thing that you can really do that will

kind of turn around when it comes to your retargeting campaign for your

online business, your online funnels and products. so the one

thing that is super important is as soon as possible

put a retargeting ads strategy in place for your business and you know we've

been working with a client of ours and she has this amazingly engaged blog and she's

been working on it forever but she hasn't even you know put a pixel onto

that blog in order to start tracking information of course from these blog

and site visitors and so that's one thing that's really important and then

the next thing is once you launch something you launch a new product and

you do all the things right, you're leaving for money on the table if you're

not installing you know or starting those retargeting ads and in essence it's

really amazing because once we did in like a week she saw thirty thousand

dollars in sales coming in from a launch she already did just for the follow up

strategies because as you might know and the online marketing Institute said as

well I'm gonna drop a link to the article down below in case you guys want

to check it out you need up to eleven touch points online in order to really

make potential prospects consider buying from you and so to keep this in mind the

more you kind of increase those touch points throughout the web and when it comes

to your business and your company, the faster you're speeding up the process

where a potential prospect is really turning into a valuable lead and wants

to you know essentially then eventually buy from you. anyways I hope that you

found this video to be helpful definitely be sure to follow me along if

you if you like it to get more videos like this and I talk to you soon thanks

so much bye

Søren Brinkmann, Direktør: "Digital AML is an Anti-Money-Laundering tool that helps companies stay compliant towards the AML regulations."

Søren Stendrup, Managing Director: "By using open data you get a very effective way of retrieving information

which makes it easier for business, makes it cost-effective, but will also make it easier for users to on-board."

Søren Brinkmann, Managing Director: "We have used both Danish and foreign open data

The Danish open data stems from the Danish Business Authority and the CVR register which is used to automatic verification"

Søren Stendrup, Managing Director: "From the CVR register, we pull the master data, information about the real business owners and the management."

Søren Brinkmann, Managing Director: "Digital AML is among other things used for KYC - Know Your Customer - procedures

but can be used for much more. You can identify risk profiles for transactions

in the context of your own business, the customer you're about to on-board, and the transaction itself."

Canada joins leading digital nations in D7 - Duration: 2:49.

Good morning.

What Canada brings to this summit is the understanding that government

exists to improve the lives of citizens.

Digital was opening up previously unimaginable possibilities for

how government can fulfill this fundamental role.

Digital has everything to do with enabling, empowering, and serving people better.

And at a time when democratic governments around the world are facing challenges of legitimacy,

digital provides new opportunities to make government relevant to the lives of citizens.

In Canada, we are committed to providing our citizens with the reliable, accessible and

secure digital services that they desserve in the 21st century, on their smartphones

and tablets, at a time and place that is convenient to them.

Today as an organization, you're either digital or you're dead.

If a company doesn't get digital right, it's out of business.

If a government doesn't get digital right, it's out of touch.

Our relevance to citizens is in jeopardy if we can't deliver

world-class government digital services.

To do that means we have to do things differently.

We have to adopt a modern digital mindset.

We have to put users' real needs at the centre of service delivery.

we have to embrace innovation and experimentation in designing

and even reinventing our services

to find the best way to meet those needs.

That's why I am so excited that the D5 has

invited Canada's participation.

Joining the D5 gives Canada fresh opportunities

to learn from the world leaders in digital

government.

At the same time, New Zealand's invitation to join the D5 is recognition of our own efforts

in advancing digital government in Canada.

Being able to access expertise in other digital nations can only support all of our progress.

It's also a testament not only to the work that has been going on for many years across

Canada, but also to our ambition and commitment

to go even further with great digital government services.

I can tell you that I am personally invested and extremely excited about digital government

and the potential for the future.

We are simply thrilled that this commitment has earned us a place at the table with the

leading countries in the world.

We look forward to learning from you and working with you to continue advancing digital principles

and practices, and get better at serving our citizens.

Digital Accessibility - Alternative Text - Duration: 4:51.

Davidson County Community College Presentation 3 Accessibility Basics:

Alternative Text for Simple Images

What is alternative text? Alternative text or alt text is a text description of an image.

Alt text is used to describe the appearance and function of an image in digital content.

Why do you need to include alternative text? Alternative text is essential for the accessibility

of digital content for visually impaired users who cannot see the image being

displayed. A description of the image is the only way that people using screen

readers will be able to visualize images. An additional benefit for all users is

that if an image file fails to load,

all users can read the description of the image.

Images can be classified into three types: decorative images, simple images, and complex images.

This presentation will cover the first two types of images: decorative images and simple images.

Decorative images are images whose sole purpose is decoration. If the image were removed from the

document, no meaning or understanding would be lost.

The image below is a decorative image. It illustrates an example of the usage

of percentages and decimals (topics in the course), but if it were

removed from the page, no understanding would be lost.

Below is another example of a decorative image. The image could also be removed

and no understanding would be lost. Since the image is decorative, the alternative text

should be null text which tells the screen reader to skip over the image. To do this,

move the cursor over the image and right click on the image.

The menu to the right appears. Click on format picture. When you click on format picture,

When you click on format picture, the menu to the right appears. Click on the box with the arrows (the layout and properties icon).

Since the image is decorative, you do not need to enter a title in the description

box. Enter open quote, close quote (two quotes with nothing inside. This

indicates null text, so a screen reader will skip over the image as if it is not

there. Now click on the "X" to close the menu, and your alternative text is saved.

Simple images are images that communicate information, but can be briefly described.

An example would be a math unit that explores mathematicians. If a sculpture

of Pythagoras were included in the course materials, this image would be

considered a simple image. A simple image requires alternative text.

To insert alternative text for the simple image right click on the image. The menu on the

right will appear. Click on format picture. When you click on format picture,

the menu to the right appears. Click on the box with the arrows (the Layout and

Properties icon).

Since the image is a simple image, you must include alternative text. Include a very brief title

and then a brief description of the image. In this case just a mathematician's name

is sufficient. Now click on the "X" to close the menu, and your alternative text is saved.

If you can close your eyes, have someone read the alt text to you, and imagine a

reasonably accurate version of the image, you have described the image well.

The goal is to provide a text explanation

of images for users who are unable to see them.

Be sure to use punctuation for easier understanding. Do not use "image of" or

"picture of" in your alt text. These phrases are not necessary. Alt text can be created for simple

images in PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Google Slides by right-clicking on the image.

The rules for alt text are the same for all of these types of documents. Remember: Use simple, precise

language to describe an image. Anytime you use the insert key on your toolbar, think accessibility.

In the screenshot below, all of the functions

in the red box require additional information. To meet

accessibility requirements. You will learn more about these in future videos.

🔴 A.M. Tech Talk 2/23/18 Digital Privacy and the Net Neutrality Repeal. - Duration: 22:57.

hey it's Sara from Close to the Earth IT services and today is a pretty

important day and the vote for net neutrality

rollbacks so it's really disconcerting I'm sure you've heard a lot about it

because repealing FCC rules around net neutrality will mean pulling back

privacy protections that we've enjoyed as well as consumer protection and

digital privacy boundaries and guidelines which have really served us

so far so all of the Democrat senators are going to be voting against this

repeal and we've got one Republican senator who is going to be a voting

against the repeal so if you're living in a state now is the time to pick up

that phone and give them a call and tell them that repealing net neutrality is

something that you don't want it's no good for consumers it's not good for

digital privacy and before it go too far down the rabbit hole I don't want to

influence how you might feel about net neutrality and I mean some of the rules

that that it protects make sure that your internet connection let's say you

play pay a flat rate as we all do for internet connection one website can't be

prioritized over another one one app can't be prioritized over another one so

it's really important to note that what net neutrality does is it makes the

internet fair for everyone and we need that we also need our digital privacy

rights to be maintained so I've got a special walkthrough for you what you can

do a couple of things that you can do to safeguard your internet service

and and your digital privacy rights so we've got a couple of one solution for

you that you can apply for yourself and another solution where you can and take

some political action and make sure that if you're living in a state with a

Republican senator that that senator knows how you feel something I kind of

like guide you through that and also I wanted to tell you about my curiam house

we've got something super super cool for you I've got a $50 gift card so if you

go to a shop purium calm and this is an affiliate link so if you go to a shop

curiam calm you can redeem a $50 gift card you can buy whatever you want you

just have to spend $75 or more so and then 50 bucks you get to try like a few

different things so I really like the greens I've got this set up kamut greens

here everything's organic everything's vegan and they're growing methods are

really awesome all of the greens for example are spring water water it

watered with spring water and also we most of us don't get enough veggies and

fruits in our diet so this is an easy way so you just mix a scoop of this and

it's pretty small with water or juice and just drink it it doesn't taste great

but it's you can just get your greens so easily with this that it's kind of a

no-brainer and this will really support your health it's like under the detox

series another thing that I like is this clack crack cell chlorella more greens

and what greens do they supply your body with chlorophyll and chlorophyll helps

your cells to regenerate so not only are they an antioxidant producing which if

you live in a city that will really help you and then I really like this a low

digest that was really good for your stomach gets good for your skin and this

is a really good way to rehydrate yourself and get some prebiotics which

help you digest so with this $50 gift card you can get like all of these

things you can get a bunch of things to try

so that's one sponsor that's that's helping us out here Thank You purium

health our shop curiam comm and when you type in my name sorry JEP s AR AG as in

George EPP then you'll you get that $50 coupon so I want to show you I'm going

to do a tutorial on how to use Nord VPN or other sponsor so Nord VPN what they

do is they actually protect your internet connection and this is gonna be

really important if you shop online a lot you're putting your credit card out

there and it can actually get swiped so you want to avoid that at all cost so

having a VPN will protect your internet connection and it will also prevent

what's known as throttling so this gonna happen on your computer or on your phone

what the internet service providers can do whether it's a cell phone carrier

with a data plan or whether it's your home Wi-Fi network or wired network is

that they can actually prioritize certain websites over other ones and

they're gonna slow your network connection down when you're watching

videos so that this irritates you enough to buy their upgraded package whatever

that's going to be in the future to be fair

none of the carriers have started that practice yet but what they have done is

take they take your personal data this is a recent thing and they have all all

of it already so your IP address is connected to you your address your phone

number your email address all of your customer info but now they can link it

to what websites you go to so they can basically spoon-feed advertisers to just

mark it directly and really really like pinpoint you with ads and I mean I just

think that's creepy let me decide what I want to buy you know like I'll do it

myself I'll figure it out so um let me turn my

screen around and show you here we have my social live broadcaster what's up I

love this thing so I'm gonna show you this is my I have

connected my iPhone to this and I'm just gonna open it up and show you Nord VPN

so basically this works for six different devices so if you have a

couple of computers let's say an iPad your kids iPad your phone your husband's

phone your stuff anything that connects to the Internet you'll have under your

plan and you can get two years for 79 bucks it's a really good deal so click

my affiliate link that I provided and you'll be able to check it out

but you know this is gonna be the same for any VPN that you might use they work

slightly differently but this is basically showing you the concept so you

can go to a map for example or a list and you can you can connect to different

to different servers hi my II you want to go outside my dog wants to go outside

so check this out it's very sunny but windy day here in Channel Islands

California I guess that's why we're so popular for sailing a sailing

destination because it's a windy okay so here's Nord VPN you can connect to these

different servers so anti-ddos so if you have a server you can actually get

attacked pretty easily and if you go to this anti dt OS if you have a server

yourself you can actually use this to protect your server and go that extra

mile by any kind of like denial of service attack dedicated IP servers so

you can if you wanted to have a dedicated IP server you can use that

what this will mean is that you're always connecting to the same ip no

matter what so some people like that for location spoofing perfect purpose

purposes so and you can definitely use same static IP if you want to you'll

always get out in back in again on the same IP address and some people find

that helpful um okay so onion over VPN this is like super super secure see how

it's like Latvia Netherlands Sweden so those are all countries that have like

the highest level of Internet privacy protections so if you're a journalist or

an activist and you're thinking quite seriously that you want more protection

than you're gonna be provided then you definitely want to use that for sure and

then you can go back to the map for example and that you can like pinch out

to these connections so it's all over the world you can connect to another

country if you want - lets go / - lets see we'll go to England UK and pick a

server and we'll actually connect to a server in the UK so if you want to

listen to any kind of like BBC radio or mongus most of that's global out but if

you want to watch TV in the UK you can actually do that and then when I go to

like Google for example we do get come on web browser

Thibault where's a web browser ok Safari

you can actually go to Google and it thinks you're in the UK see how it said

calm and then it said UK so it thinks you're actually in the UK when you use

this and ok in the UK well I like to use this to go to like BBC TV and stuff

I think it's pretty interesting so now no matter where I go on the internet I'm

gonna be protected my credit card information my identity information and

anything I want to keep private so that is pretty sweet

so Nord VPN you can click my affiliate link that I've left for you and get a

couple get two years and it is only $79 and you can use it on six different

devices so that is pretty sweet what else can I tell you what else can I tell

you well let's take you to our other sponsor their information so you can see

what purium health is all about just go back here so yeah it's really important

to take care of your health and to give yourself the channels as you want so

specialist that it's all superboots it's all vegan it's all organic and

these aren't just buzzwords this is something that's really important

because with genetically modified foods and all of the things that we're

breathing in and experiencing as as like City throughout the dwellers it actually

really does help and they've got this awesome cleanse if you like to do kind

of like a break from processed foods they've got this super ask gift card you

can actually get a lower price only once you sign up here let me just flip this

around here they're gonna give you 25% off of everything so once you cash in

this $50 off coupon they were they will give you 25% off of your next orders you

can get 25% off anything and they've got stuff for athletes they've got stuff for

your daily like fiber and stuff that you need let's say your aloe this is really

good for prebiotic use and if you've got like digestion issues or you eat a diet

of times you go for the fast food more than

you want to you want to bump it up with like a low and greens and it's like

dehydrate be dehydrated green juice with all the goodness and you've tried

everything you might want to check this out apothecary and it actually has that

natural melatonin in it so that's super cool and then you've got a ton of

antioxidants within that and it's food it's not like you're just taking some

random chemical this is made of food so that's pretty sweet and it helps your

joints to function really well what else can I show you here I mean she is weight

loss who doesn't want to lose a couple of pounds especially since it's gonna be

spraying nation here it's 249 but with this $50 off coupon it's gonna be 149

it's 10 days and people have had some pretty dramatic results from that so

that's Brad and then once you order you get 25% off of everything for the future

so I would try something this is like another thing I'm really into this

pre-meal capsules so I have a problem with sugar and whenever I eat something

sugary I have the sugar blues like right away so what this does is it actually

uses nopal cap cactus and that gives you like it expands to many times its weight

in water in your tummy so it makes you feel pretty full and it will also

assimilate any kind of fat or sugar it kind of process pre processes that for

you so you don't get that like up and down so that's pretty cool that has

helped me to curb my appetite for sugar so those are the two sponsors that

supporting this show right now so that so if you live right now to protect your

net neutrality rights so if you live in a state where there's a Republican

senator in office you can actually call that Senators

office and you can tell that person like hey net neutrality is really important

to me and as far as the public opinion goes for when they were starting to

accept public comment around this issue this has been one of the first

bipartisan issues that we've seen in a really long time so it's not so much

that the people are feeling this way like Democrat versus Republican we saw

that across the board Democrats and Republicans wanted net

neutrality but the politicians are really divided about this people aren't

divided about it at all so um contact your senator if you live

Brown, Female & Proud - Mestenhauser Award Digital Story - Duration: 3:52.

My name is Prashasti Bhatnagar and I am a senior in CLA, studying Sociology with minors

in Public Health and Social Justice.

I am an international student from the lively and colorful streets of New Delhi, India,

more than 7000 miles away from the embraces of my loved ones.

I am Prashasti.

Prashasti as in power, praise, and perfection.

However, just as time zones flipped when I took a flight more than 24 hour long to the

US, the meaning of my name and my identity changed drastically.

I became Prashaasti, who needed to be randomly checked and questioned at airports.

Prashaasti, whose brown skin was undesirable, whose English was surprisingly good but accent

too funny.

Prashaasti, who had to always be articulate because after all, she was representing the

other 1 billion Indians.

Prashaasti who was sometimes Mary or Jen because who has the time to say Prashasti.

As I have entered rooms and teams, I have never had to introduce myself because people

have made it their job to assume who I am by what I look like.

While being Prashaasti on a predominantly white and enormously large campus has been

challenging and lonely, my educational aspirations, internships, and vulnerable conversations

with colleagues and professors have helped me explore and challenge my identity intensively.

Drawing from my personal hardships and experiences, I have been able to utilize my position as

an international undergraduate leader to create inclusive and supporting environments for

incoming international students at UMTC.

As an International Student Ambassador, I connect with prospective students and families

from India and provide support in the form of answering questions, sharing my story,

and so forth to ensure a smooth and successful transition to the US.

Combining my passion of mental health access with international student advocacy, I led

an initiative as a Student Affairs Student Senate Committee Member to increase access

to mental health services for international students on all campuses of the University

of Minnesota.

As a Lead Peer Advisor at the Center for Community-Engaged Learning (CCEL), I have designed and implemented

a Racial Equity Discussion Partners program for CCEL staff and a workshop series (#volunteeringAND)

for all students (undergraduate and graduate) on the Twin Cities campus to navigate systems

of oppression and challenge the dominant narrative of community engagement.

These initiatives strive to highlight the unheard voices of international students,

and foster brave and global conversations around social justice, equity, and organization

as change-making agents.

As a CLA student, my internships and research projects focused on health and human rights

have further helped me promote global perspectives and advance health equity in creative ways.

My values, experiences and exposure as an international student both in CLA and in the

communities of Minneapolis-St. Paul have transformed me into a confident and self-aware leader,

who strives to use her knowledge as a powerful tool to challenge inequities deeply rooted

in our systems.

As I get ready to graduate and enter the diverse institution of Georgetown and Johns Hopkins

for my dual degree in law and public health, I step in with a growth-mindset formed through

global perspectives and multiples languages, a heart full of powerful stories from individuals

who resist from being silenced, and a soul driven by the zeal to advance health equity.

I enter feeling confident in my capabilities and in my identities, ready to work tirelessly

and spread the magic of equity with inspiring and brave leaders.

I enter, authentically and with compassion, as Prashasti.
