This month: the Australian Organ Donor Register, claiming student payments and

improvements to the online claim for Age Pension.

G'day, I'm Hank Jongen, here to tell you

what's happening with the department in February. This month I'd

like to talk about the Australian Organ Donor Register. At any time more than

1,300 Australians are wait-listed for a life-saving transplant. If you decide to

become an organ donor make sure you register your decision. Doing this you

have the potential to save up to ten lives. It's easy to register using your

Medicare online account through myGov the Express plus Medicare mobile app or

the donate life website. Register your decision today and make sure you share

your decision with your family. Nine in 10 families uphold their loved ones

decision when they are registered organ donor. If you're heading to university or

TAFE this year you might be eligible for Youth Allowance or Austudy. Before you

make a claim go to our website to check eligibility and claiming information

including a list of the things we might need from you, like your tax file number

bank account details and pay slips. Once you make a claim you can check its

progress in your Centrelink online account through myGov or through the

Express plus Centrelink mobile app. If you're using the Express Plus app select

the menu at the bottom of the screen then 'my claims'. If you're using your

Centrelink online account through mygov click 'apply for a payment or concession

card' from the menu then 'view your online claims' to check the progress of your

claim. We aim to process claims as quickly as

possible, however in peak times like now it may

take a little longer. There have been some improvements made to

the Age Pension online claim. Information you've already provided to us will be

prefilled in the claim and you'll only need to answer the mandatory questions

and any questions that are relevant to you. You'll be able to save information

you've entered, exit and come back later to complete your claim. To make a claim

sign in to your Centrelink online account through myGov. Once submitted you

can view the status of your claim online meaning you don't need to call or visit an

India's Share Increase In Global Satellite Launch Service - Duration: 1:39.

India's share in the global satellite launch services revenue increased to 1.1 percent

in 2015-16, said the Economic Survey tabled in Parliament on Monday.

According to the Survey, the country's share in the global satellite launch services revenue

went up to 1.1 percent in 2015-16 from 0.3 percent in 2014-15.

The survey states that Antrix Corporation - the commercial arm of Indian Space Research

Organisation (ISRO) - foresees greater utilization of rockets like Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle

(PSLV), Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) and GSLV Mk-3 by the international

community for launching their Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites.

In the case of satellite launching, as on March 2017, PSLV successfully launched 254

satellites.

Foreign exchange earnings of India from the export of satellite launch services increased

noticeably in 2015-16 and 2016-17 to Rs 394 crore and Rs 275 crore from Rs 149 crore in

2014-15.

In a recent interview with IANS, ISRO Chairman K. Sivan said India will be using its own

rockets for launching communication satellites and reduce the use of satellite launch services

of foreign space launch pads for heavy missions.

So I was still doing my externship and I actually got a job, so I was working and going to school. It was actually pretty great.

I think it was like a week after the program ended, that's whenever I got the job.

In the current job I have now, I already had before even graduation.

This job that I have now, they helped me because they actually sent me the application and everything. It was amazing.

They're always there to answer all my questions so I really appreciate them all. Thank you all for your help!

The University of Memphis Career Services - Our Students are "Something to Roar About" - Duration: 2:17.

I was on a hunt trying to figure out what could I do my psychology degree, so I ended

up going to Career Services trying to figure out what are some relevant things that I can

do.

I utilized the TigerLink database where I found out about a position as a youth specialist

for the Memphis Ambassadors program, so I was working with high school students, just

pretty much trying to help them become better citizens and better students.

I found out about that position through Career Services and that kind of just solidified

why I wanted to go into school counseling in the first place.

And this is a part of my.

Also, when I was applying to graduate school, Career Services was the first place that I

went.

I had my resume edited, I had my personal statement looked at, and I even had a mock

interview and I made it specific, I said please make this interview specific to get into a

graduate program.

Way of thinking, OK.

Currently at Memphis Catholic I am a graduate level intern.

I work under the school counselor so I consider myself a school counselor in training.

So I work with the middle school students here to kind of help them succeed academically,

figure out, you know, if they are going through any social issues or personal issues, we work

through that, because those things, they do affect how well you do in school.

And not only did Career Services help me get into graduate school, I also got my first

job, like career, my first big girl job, so I will be starting as a school counselor at

a middle school in January because I went to the education fair there we had this semester.

You need to get involved with Career Services freshman year, like we have information tables,

as soon as you see Career Services, go up and say hey I am a freshman and I am thinking

about majoring in this, what internship opportunities are available, what type of things can I get

involved in on campus to kind of make myself more marketable when it is time for me to

start looking for jobs, like do not wait until it is too late.

I say get started as soon as possible because you have the opportunity to explore and get

exposure to stuff that you probably did not even think, I can do this with my degree,

and so Career Services definitely helps you with that.}

Line Messaging App Begins Financial Services For Users

Japans biggest messaging app Line said Wednesday it was launching a financial services spinoff to allow users to exchange and trade virtual currencies.

Line said its new business would provide a variety of financial services, including a place to exchange and transact virtual currencies, loans, and insurance. The transactions will be made inside the messaging app, which already incorporates a mobile payment system.Line has a relatively small presence in the US and Europe, but is hugely popular in Japan and several other countries in Asia, where cryptocurrencies like bitcoin are heavily traded.

Line said it had already begun the process of registering its new virtual currency business with Japans Financial Services Agency, which regulates cryptocurrency exchanges in the country. Its shares rose on the announcement, closing up 2.

The announcement follows a massive $530 million heist of cryptocurrency last week from Japanese virtual currency exchange Coincheck. The loss exceeds even the $480 million stolen in 2014 from another Japanese virtual currency exchange, MtGox.

Japans government has slapped Coincheck with an administrative order, and governments around the region and further afield have begun tightening regulations on virtual currency trade.

But cryptocurrencies have remained stubbornly attractive to investors, particularly in Japan where ultra-low interest rates have left few good options for returns on cash.Line was launched in 2011 after Japans quake-tsunami tragedy damaged telecoms infrastructure.

It combines features from Facebook, Skype and WhatsApp with games and a mobile payment service.
