[BTS +] [; Behind The Scene]

[#1 V is checking himself out] Is that good?

[#2 The king of destruction has a twist] RM, you should lift it up.

- You fixed it. - Wow, RM. - That's a miracle.

Good, good.

[#3 Jim-late] 1, 2, 3!

[#4 A and B] - A! - What? - What's this?

- A. - A.

- Did you plan this? - All four of us got it. - We don't have to move.

We are Team A, and they are Team B.

- We're Team B. - It's divided into A and B.

- That's amazing. - Eh, eh, eh! - A!

- A! B! - So what do we have to do?

[#5 How to call Team A] - Team A! - A!

A! A!

[#6 The finger flick machine] This is the finger flick machine.

- Wow! Of course. - No way! - What?

- Jimin will win this one. - What? That looks pretty good.

- What if Jung Kook wins? - Jung Kook is stronger.

That's not... Oh, is this the score? This?

- Is this the score? - You don't want to move like

- You have to stay perfectly still and flick! - How about this? Like this?

[#7 V wanted to be white] We'll be white, and you can be blue.

- Sure. - Sure. - White is original, so it'll be Team A's color.

- As for B... - We'll all have to wear them, right?

[#8 It's the lamb towel bun's fault] They made them for us, so we should wear them.

You're a genius

Hang on. This one doesn't fit my head.

[#9 Jimin checks himself out]

Should we do one for ARMY?

I'll wear it.

[#10 A new machine makes an appearance] You can't try it already, Jimin.

- That would be cheating. - That would be cheating. - That's cheating.

- Suga, you should try it like this. - What is the ball made of?

That's incredible.

[#11 A light practice game] Your fingers must hurt.

- You're strong. - Wow, 890. - Wow, you got 890?

This is the only part that hurts.

- There's 999 too. - It's going to give you bruises.

V is going to try it.

- Okay, that's enough. Enough! Enough! - Let's all try it once. Just once.

[#12 Ouch!] - Hit the finger flick machine in front of you. - Yes.

[#13 Jin's finger flick] I give really weak finger flicks.

[#14 BTS wants to have the machine] This is totally ingenious.

- Where did you find this? At an editor's shop? - Where do you find things like this? - Oh, on top?

We should take this and play with it after.

[#15 "Run BTS!" has gotten more detailed] We were lacking in detail before,

but we've gotten more detailed lately.

- It's like a real broadcast. - You just have to flick it like this.

- If you hit it too hard... - Like this...

[#16 Delicious] J-Hope, wash it down with this.

- Isn't that too much? - Here's the next game.

- Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. - We'll give you this if you pick A and B.

What's that? Is it different if we choose A and B?

- If you use this and hit it like this... - That's good.

But...

[#17 Suspicious jelly] Are they red ginseng jelly and regular jelly?

Really? It's a bitter jelly?

- What? - The jellies are real snacks.

- The jellies are real snacks. - Really? Can we eat them? - They're real snacks.

[#18 They're not?] You should wear the lamb towel bun.

- Do I pick A? - No, no.

- Roll the egg to check if it's cooked. - No, no.

- No, that would be cheating. - No?

[#19 A bold crack!] - You picked B. - You picked B.

- That's it then. - It's game over.

You were bold in picking up that B.

- V is okay. - V, you should wipe the floor.

[#20 Raw eggs are good for health(?)] I heard it's healthy to eat raw eggs.

- It's good. x2 - It's good for your throat.

- It's good for your throat? - Shall we give it a try?

[#21 (Bewildered)] Just take that out... What?

[#22 Missed shot]

You hit it wrong.

- How is this score possible? - Hey!

- Are you kidding me? - It's even lower than first-year numbers.

Hey... J-Hope, you should face forward while RM makes his pick.

Yes. RM, make your pick.

[#23 Look in front of you] Don't even make eye contact. No eye contact!

Hey! J-Hope, look ahead of you. Look ahead!

Look ahead! Don't look, J-Hope. Look ahead.

This is a bit solid.

[#24 (Flustered) 2] Your expression...

- You ate so much sophora, and you can't tell? - "I don't believe you."

- What? - It's not barley tea. - "Let's try to hang in there."

This is actually barley tea.

All I said it's the color of sophora, and he goes, "You can't tell after drinking all that sophora tea?"

- Wow, it's really bitter. - This is sophora...

After all the times you had to drink sophora tea as a penalty...

- Sophora tea... You can't see it. - A was sophora tea. What?

- This is barley tea. - Yes, that's barley tea.

So it's mixed...

It's mixed... The director is smart.

When did they mix it? I didn't even see that.

[#25 The Kleenex that never falls off] - This is the color of barley tea. - Wow!

Jung Kook, these are roasted eggs. They're roasted eggs.

Hey! Plums!

Is there any more sikhye?

[#26 Curiosity killed the cat]

- Okay. - Oh, this is sophora tea.

Lastly, it's Jung Kook's turn.

[#27 He's been boxing with his fingers...?] His fingers are strong because he's been boxing.

- What does boxing have to do with strong fingers? - Do you box like this?

[# Destiny] - It's 738. - Oh! It's 738!

- It's a tie! A tie! - Wow! It's a tie!

- Destiny? - You know, Jung Kook, we are one.

- What are you guys doing? - Let's go again.

[#29 Mamma bird V] That's cute.

How could this happen...

- 52? - This score is even higher. - It's 853.

[#30 Boldly take a sip!] That's because cabbages don't make foam.

Really?

- I drank sophora tea thinking that way. - When you get overconfident like that...

- "You shouldn't have trusted..." - See! It makes foam 100 percent.

- "Try to hang in there." - Did we win all rounds?

- We won all rounds. - We didn't do anything and won all rounds. - We won all rounds?

[#31 ... Not bad]

Your expression is telling everything.

Come on... It's not that bad, is it?

Is it good?

- Wow, SC! - It's okay for me.

Doesn't that kind of taste like myeongi tea from when we were kids?

It's not bad.

[#32 Finger flicking with the pinky finger] - Jimin! Jimin! - Jimin!

- I'll do it then. - Jin... - I'll do it.

I have a strong pinky finger.

Isn't it strong? It's stronger than this! x2

Do it to me! x2

Do it to me. You.

You should do it. x2

[#33 Yum, yum] It's good for your health.

It's good. x2

- Wow, it's delicious. x3 - Are you sure it's good?

- Are you sure it's good? - What? x2 - Cabbage. x2

[#34 The new king of destruction] - That means we lost. - 4 to 2.

- I'm sorry. - What's wrong with you?

[#35 That feels good!] J-Hope.

Jung Kook.

- That does feel good. Should I do it for you too? - Really? Do it for me too.

[#36 Jung Kook Late (feat. V)] Slate!

Here, here. 1, 2, 3!

[#37 "Why did you come to my house" game] "Why did you come to my house?"

[#38 Extreme jobs] - I'll go first! - Let's go!

- Jin, you know what to do. - Let's go. x2 - You know what to do.

- Hang on! You should wait for the camera... - Oh, really?

- Oh, really? - Let's go.

- Is the camera really going in? Wow! - Director, is this for real?

- The director is really... Wow! - As for me... - Are you the youngest? - Are you the youngest?

- Are you the youngest? - Of course, he is. He's 100 percent the youngest.

[#39 Playing with water]

[#40 The salon at the sauna] Let's make this our regular salon.

We can get our hair cut, dried... We can wash up here.

We should get our bodies scrubbed and our hair dried...

If our hair is a bit long, we can get it cut.

[#41 "Why did you come to my house" 2] "Why did you come to my house?"

"I came to find some flowers."

[#42 Oh oh!]

[#43 You can't fool me a second time]

[#44 Playing with water 2]

- You can eat it. - Really?

[#45 Fun corner (x) Solo coin singing room (o)] Eating it is the hard part! x2

What's a fun corner? A fun corner goes "bba-bba..."

- Don't you know eating is the easiest thing? - Look. - What?

- He said it's a fun corner. - "Bba-bba"!

[#46 Give you all-all(?) stars: "byeol-da-jul"] You just have to stretch it out.

- You really are a byeol-da-jul. - Is byeol-da-jul an acronym?

- It's an acronym. - Byeol-da-jul? - Byeol-da-jul?

You really are a byeol-da-jul... What kind of...

- "Without any other basis..." - They'll end up living here.

This is practically their house.

- You're getting there. - Byeol-da-jul... - Byeol-da-jul?

- You really are such a byeol-da-jul... - "Not that different..."

- It's like this questions. - The stars... The stars... "Give you all-all stars."

"Give you all-all stars."

[#47 The many definitions of "go-dap"] Do you know what go-dap is? Go-dap?

- Go-dap? - You really are a go-dap, aren't you?

- To talk slowly. - High-dimensional frustration.

- Wow! - Is that right? - No, it's not.

Go-dap... You really are go-dap.

Go-dap! An old answer?

- It's about frustration. - An old answer.

Go-dap? "Go" as in old, so an old answer?

An ancient answer? No.

It's an acronym. They're all acronyms. x2

- Go-dap. - A high... A high-tech frustration.

Wow, high tech...

[#48 Paying cab fares with a card...] Honestly, I can only think of "bu-ca-choong".

Bu-ca-choong! I know what that is.

- An old person. - The thing is... - Bu-ca-choong.

- Bu-ca-choong isn't something you use. - No, you do use it.

- Do you want to go do bu-ca-choong? - I'll... I'll... I'll try to come up with something.

- What? Bu-ca... - Bu-ca-choong.

- Bub-ca-choong. - No, bu, bu.

- Bu? - Bus card charging!

- He knows his slang. - Wow! Again. x3

Does that mean "cab-ca-choong" is cab card charging?

[#49 ㅇㅅㅇ] Then what about "ㅇㅅㅇ"?

- "ㅇㅅㅇ"? - That's an emoji.

[#50 Who will escape next?] - He's finally out. - He's out?

He must have gotten a lot of hints.

Kyushu travel | Udo Jingu | Japan travel vlog - Duration: 18:33.

Hello, Welcome back! Today is the last day of our Kyushu travel and we are going to Udo-Jingū.

The father of the first emperor Jimmu was born there.

There is a whole story to it, go to Wikipedia and read through it, there are so many names I cannot pronounce.

Yeah! After that my husband, he is hopeless romantic, and he wanted to see the Seagaia hotel.

Which was interesting but well see for yourself. Let's go!

This is our last day in Kyushu.

We are you're going now to see a shrine and I make a little video about the area here.

We are driving along the road, sorry seaside.

My husband wants to go to Seagaia because it was promoted by Sting back in the days.

Correct?

Yeah, let's see.

The famous Seagaia. Never heard about it but my husband wants to eat here.

I have no idea how much it is (to dine here).

Let's see. It looks really lovely.Take a look.

Seagaia own Instagram account, impressive.

Nice moon, golf, horse back riding. What is that? It's at the pool. And this is the bar. Well, whatever.

My husband: Mountain site. I: Beautiful or? Look at this.

This is Miyazaki from top. (Scenic view)

The restaurant we were at the 43rd floor took the last order. It's now what time is it? 2.30pm.

There is no restaurant in the whole building, with 43 floors, which would serve food now.

So we have to go somewhere else.

【Tasty Around The World】メキシコの〇〇でスイーツ作りに挑戦! - Duration: 6:46.

It arrived from Mexico.

I got sent the ingredients.

What kind of food do you think?

Last time, I made the guava jelly mousse

using ingredients sent from Brazil.

It's a sequel that I received a baggage from Mafer who works for tasty in mexico.

Well, What kinda of food from mexico do you think?

Taco, Salsa

And Burrito.

What's inside Mexican people?

What's in it? Meat?

Some kind of sauce?

Speaking of Mexico is Tequila!

Tequila!

Let's open it at once.

Ta-dah!

What's this?

It look like cat food.

It would be what.

Rache enterade baka....

Baka!?(Meaning of stupid.)

Perhaps, I wonder if it's grinding that bean like a chickpea, isn't it?

Well, Does it shape like a fish?

It looks like a tuna can.

I can not read it at all.

I can only see this as a tuna can.

Tuna or Sea urchins.

I do not understand something at all but it's amazingly sweet.

My head can not catch up.

I never ate before, I guess like this.

I taste of detergent.

What is this!?

So sweet!

It is defferent from what I imagined at all.

Chicken texture!

Why is it so sweet?

It is very sweet and maybe it is a dessert but

I do no understand anything about this food.

Chongos zamo zamora zamoranos

Is this the one?

It looks like it has sweet cottage cheese in it.

Cinnamon and condensed milk and suger in it.

the desserts are well-known in Mexico.

If I understand it with cheese.

If I understand it with cheese then my head can catch up.

It is delicous if I know cheese.

Oh, it's tasty.

It is cheese.

Maybe I like this.

Well then, what shall we make using this?

I'm in trouble.

It seems to be creamy or something.

It is mixed with custard cream to make it a cream puff.

Even if you like ice cream, you may be able to enjoy the texture.

It's so sweet, cheese.

May I eat once more?

Fluffy pancakes?

if it is cheese,

would it be normal to make cheesecake with this?

You may be able to make it.

First of all, we crushed this cocoa cookie and made it into the cake bottom.

Melt crushed cookies and smooth with butter

I will make it easier to form.

I pour it into a cake mold and make it smooth.

This is a sure thing for cheese cake.

Now, I would like to use Chongos that I got sent.

We talked about to stir up into a dough and mix with it.

I would like to add cream cheese.

What cheese was Chongos's cheese?

Cottage cheese was in it.

What if you conbine cottage cheese and cream cheese

I thought that double cheese would satisfy harmony.

Even if I put Chongos, it became smooth neatly at all.

Before pouring the batter into the mold, I will spread the rum raisin like an adult taste.

I will pour the cream containing Chongos here.

I was convinced that I will succeed well at this point.

batterI will pour raisin and

batter again.

It's making the second layer.

Already baked color!

It was soooo beautifully baked.

It looks preety moist and delicious.

Thank you Chongos!

Ta-dah! We made it!

We made a baked cheesecake using Mexican Changos.

It can bake very delicious.

It looks delicious.

Let's eat.

Delicious!

What's this?

It is very moist and it has sweet taste of Chongos.

We added cream cheese and it has sour taste as well.

Oh Isn't it great?

It is great!

it was deliciously finished like a cheesecake sold at a shop.

It's about 450 yen.

It's delicious.

For the time being a great success.

yaaaaas!!!

She kicked me out of the house in Japan - Duration: 13:40.

Hey everyone, welcome to my first storytime video, here on my channel.

As you already know from the title I'm going to talk about how I got kicked out of the house, in Japan.

This adventure happened to me three years ago.

I don't remember exactly the daily details of this story because, being something I don't like

I forced it in a

corner of my brain, a small dark corner of my brain so I can forget about it and move on.

So the story begins at my university.

One of my colleagues...

Let's call her Vanessa.

She used to travel a lot in Japan and made a lot of friends there.

One day when she heard me saying that I want to go to Japan, too

She came to me and said "hey

If you really want to go to Japan and don't really have enough money, come and talk with me before

Because I have a lot friends and you just need to buy the plane tickets.

I can talk with my friends and maybe they can let you stay in their house for your holiday

for some weeks, maybe you can help them with something so you won't feel

uncomfortable staying for free there.

And I was like, yeah sure, great. Awesome. Now that I think about it. I should have known better.

She was always hanging out with fishy students.

After graduation and having enough of shitty jobs, I decided that I have to go to Japan.

I need a holiday, I want to go to Japan, and I contacted Vanessa to help me out.

Also, I asked mom if she can help me with money because I was poor as

a duck. She gave me a Facebook page of a

woman, let's call her, Ivana.

Vanessa told me that Ivana is a Romanian woman, a single mother living in Japan with two japanese children.

I sent Ivana a private message

explaining who I am what, I want yada yada, but um, she didn't answer.

For one freaking year. In the meantime, I was busy with work or my

Youtube channel, Romanian YouTube channel called Japomania, another channel.

But guess what! After a whole year, she finally answered me.

Telling "sorry. I didn't see the message".

"Can we talk again?" Yes, of course. I'm always willing to come Japan.

I really risked a lot going to a stranger's house,

somewhere far far far away

from my country It was risky, I know...

So I gave Ivana a Facebook call to talk with her and know each other more.

On the phone she seemed super nice,

mature, on the phone.

She told me many beautiful lies...

Anyway, I talked with her and promised her that I will help her with house chores, with her children.

She told me, great. I only need you from 6 PM until midnight.

The rest of the day you're free. She said that she needs more money to pay a debt.

Oh, by the way, I was going to Nagoya, not Tokyo, she was living in Nagoya.

So I started to look for plane tickets.

I can stay in Japan for 90 days as a tourist.

I never thought about staying more than two weeks,

but Ivana insisted to stay

90 freaking days .90, not 86 not

60, no.

90 days. It was kind of fishy for me, and

I was talking with mom, "is this okay? Maybe, maybe we won't have a good relationship.

Maybe I won't feel comfortable in her house" .

Ivana insisted "no, it's going to be fine. Why won't you stay 90 days? Come on, come on."

And I bought a round-trip plane ticket for 90 days.

She asked me to buy so many things from Romania.

And I only had one luggage for three months, one luggage with clothes and

shoes and another 24 kilos luggage of

products she asked me to buy for her. And by the way, she saw them as a present.

She never gave me any money back.

So long story short. I arrived in Japan, finally. I had 24 hours trip.

I had two stops and I was a freaking zombie. I was so dizzy,

sleepy, hungry. Argh!

Ivana came to the airport to pick me up with her two sons and I had a shock. Oh.

She looked super different. She looked like she was super sober.

She had her hair super messy, her face screamed "I'm a heavy smoker."

She had super tired eyes with dark,

big dark circles under her eyes, and she was super cranky. It was a surprise for me

When we finally arrived to her apartment,

she had a really big nice apartment and she told me that it was free because she's a single mother with two children.

Great. And she started to smoke inside the house in front of her children.

She sat down looked at me and said:

"If you really want to come to Japan and live in Japan,

You should marry a japanese man, a random japanese man, an ugly one, doesn't matter.

She started to badmouth japanese people.

like

Japanese women don't clean their house and they're super, uh stinky and dirty.

Japanese men are not faithful anyway, and they beat their wives, but you can find a very calm,

boring japanese man.

The other son asked me to go out and play with him and I was like...

"Yeah, sure," even though I was super tired super hungry super zombie,

"Okay, I'll go with you" I was expecting the mother to say: "Hey leave her alone. She just arrived", but she was like...

Have fun!

After that, we went to supermarket,

helped her with

groceries and with dinner and I washed I dishes, made pancakes.

I was already busy with everything, trying to

show her that I'm here to help her.

And guess what? I stayed in Japan not for three months, but

for three weeks. I never got out of the house alone.

I only went to supermarket with the older son.

Every day I helped her with what I could. I was always trying to be one step ahead of her.

Washing dishes, washing clothes, cleaning the house, dusting the rooms, and she was always coming to check if

Everything looked perfect.

For me it seemed like she was trying to find something to complain about.

The older son had problems, and I'm sure he still has them, problems with lying.

He was lying for fun or out of fear.

Every day, he was randomly lying about random stuff.

The mother was always yelling at him, scolding him, beating him slapping him.

It was a big huge difference between

the older son and the younger one. She would always spoil the baby.

I know it's easier to spoil the baby because he's cute and bla bla bla.

But she was exaggerating and she was doing this in front of the older son.

The baby was a monster. He was

such an annoying baby. I like babies, but he was evil. He was always screaming, yelling

beating everyone,

demanding stuff.

I was in April in Japan and I didn't see

Sakura trees, I didn't see any park because she would never get out of the house and she wouldn't let me get out

because she wanted me to stay with her children. She would always promise me things and she would never keep her promise.

So she started "work".

She promised me that

she will leave at 5 PM and come back at midnight because she would work only for six hours.

She would always come back home whether at 4:00 or 6:00 in the morning

Sometimes she would also come back the next day at noon.

Of course, she would always come home drunk. I was afraid to fall asleep

I was always watching the baby. I was afraid for him not fall from the bed.

And I was always waiting for her to come home and I was never sleeping.

And after two weeks the craziness came out of her.

She would be passive-aggressive with me. When it was finally Saturday

And I could finally rest and sleep,

at 8 o'clock in the morning, she would put her phone

next to me with loud music playing from Youtube,

and she would go in the living room or in the kitchen.

At some point, she would like "please wake up!

We need to clean this house. Can't you see how dirty this house is? How can you stay like this.

Please wake up."

On that morning

She kicked me out of the house. She sat down, looked at me angry and said "I don't like you,

I want you out of my house. I want you out of Japan. Go back to Romania."

I was between killing her and slapping her

and crying.

I was speechless, I couldn't say anything. I just listened to her bad-mouthing me.

I was like, the only thing I could say is like "I cannot leave. I don't have any money,

I cannot change my plane ticket".

And I started to search for my airplane tickets, and I couldn't find him anywhere,

because she stole them and she kept them somewhere hidden in the house.

She was like," oh, yeah

I took them sorry." And she went into another wardrobe and took out the plane tickets.

She stole my passport and my plane tickets.

She didn't explain me why..

And I didn't ask her anything because I was like "no, I have to leave now. I have to leave now.

I don't care anymore. I have to leave now. She's freaking crazy".

I couldn't change the plane ticket.

I called mom like mom, like "mom, please help me. This woman is crazy."

After one or two hours she came

in front of me and she's like

"I'm sorry, you don't have to leave anywhere. I'm sorry. I know I exaggerated. Please forgive me".

Let's forget about this blah blah blah. Whenever someone say sorry to me and asked for my forgiveness

My heart melts and I'm like, okay, it's fine.

And in that night her

ex-husband came to visit his son and

we went to restaurant to eat yakiniku and

everything seemed okay, finally.

I was going out. Finally I'm seeing something.

I'm sorry my camera died,

I'm using a Sony now, anways.

After another week I decided I need to get out of the house.

I want to visit

something other than the supermarket.

She was in the kitchen and I told her like "Is it okay if I can leave today to have a walk...

anywhere?".

She looked at me and

said "yeah, okay, fine" .

And after I showered and got dressed

and I was super "Yeeey

I'm going to go for a walk".

She called me in the kitchen very upset and said "That's it. I cannot stand you anymore. Get out of my house".

Called again mom,

asking her to help me again and this time for good.

She found me a plane on that day

At 9 o'clock in the night or something like that.

We went to airport and she left me there.

I was happy that I'm not going to see her ever again.

After being home and safe

I contacted Vanessa to tell her that I'm back in Romania,

Everything went bad and she said to me that "yeah

Ivana told me but a different story".

Because she must be the victim.

Only after three years. I can laugh about it.

Risking is not always a good thing.

10 Misconceptions About Imperial Japan During WWII - Duration: 11:38.

10 Misconceptions About Imperial Japan During WWII

Many people have their ideas of Japan during World War II based mostly off movies about

the war and an HBO miniseries or two, as well as a lot of folk legend passed down over the

years.

However, some of this has given us a slightly confused picture of how things actually were.

A lot of Westerners think of Imperial Japan as a society where people worshiped a God

emperor, and happily and regularly threw away their lives in suicide attacks in his glorious

name.

The truth is a lot more human, as things usually are with human beings.

10.

People Did Believe That Hirohito Was Divine, But That Doesn't Make Him A God

Many people think the Japanese Emperor was considered a god and renounced this at the

end of the war, but the concept of the divinity of the emperor is a lot more complicated than

most people think.

The emperor did claim to be distantly descended from the Shinto God Amaterasu, but he never

claimed to be an actual god and nor did the Japanese people claim such for him.

The other major misconception is that the Emperor ever renounced his divinity at all.

His statement was interpreted that way by Westerners, but his intent was actually to

point out that unlike what we were claiming, Japan had actually been Democratic at least

to some extent since the Meiji Era, and that the Emperor was not divine in terms of absolute

rule and hadn't been, but was in terms of his responsibility to perform rituals and

functions that kept the Shinto Gods watching over Japan.

9.

Kamikaze Pilots Were Hardly The Willing Sacrificial Cows That People Tend To Think

One of the most enduring legends of World War II are the kamikaze pilots of Japan.

The stories have taken such hold in the popular imaginations, that people tend to think of

Japanese people as more suicidal for it.

Regardless, this is a commonly held belief that these pilots were happily going to their

deaths, willing sacrificial cows who signed up to go die for their divine emperor.

However, the truth was way, way more human.

The Japanese authorities knew that no sane man really volunteers for a suicide mission,

especially considering none of these tended to be missions of particularly great singular

important in the grand scheme of things.

So, most pilots who were going to go on suicide missions were actually "recruited" for

it at the last minute and briefed almost right before.

In some cases they weren't forced to go, but considering the patriotism of war, it

was hard to be the one to say no.

8.

The Japanese Army May Have Surrendered Because Of Stalin, And Not The Bomb

One of the favorite moral debates, and long held controversies, is the use of the atomic

bomb on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The usual justification is that the Japanese simply would not have surrendered otherwise,

and that it was the only way to end the war without literally killing every single Japanese

person on the island.

However, the truth is that many historians now believe that the entire thing was unnecessary,

and we basically killed all those people for no reason.

Like we said, the justification was always that it was the only way to end the war, but

many scholars say that the war was about to end anyway, and that the Japanese surrender

didn't really even have to do with the atomic bomb in the first place.

The real reason why the Japanese were about to surrender was because the Germans had been

beaten, and Stalin was about to open up another front against the Japanese and bring his considerable

weight to bear against them.

With the beating they were already taking, Stalin coming in to throw his weight around

was just too much and they knew it.

7.

The United States Tends To Forget Other Countries Major Roles Against The Japanese Army

Many movies in the United States tend to focus more on the roles of their own people, and

history books always tend to focus on our own guys as well, so sometimes people forget

how major a role other countries played in the Pacific Theater, helping the United States

against the Japanese Army.

One country who is still rather peeved about their contribution not being noticed is China,

who sacrificed greatly during World War II and suffered horribly at the hands of the

Japanese, having many of their people slaughtered, tortured and experimented on.

Their resistance in China was crucial to the war effort in the Pacific Theater.

Another country that many forget about are the Australians, who provided fierce resistance

during World War II against the Japanese, and were important to provide staging grounds

for the allies.

While The United States tended to be largely responsible for the most aggressive moves

towards the enemy, the Australians contributions fighting on islands like Papua New Guinea,

New Britain, and others put up yet one more furious front of resistance against the fierce

and well organized Japanese Army.

Roughly 40,000 Australians died in the war effort, and nearly one seventh of the entire

population was involved in some way or another.

6.

Many People Forget The Slow Buildup To Pearl Harbor, Or The Reasons For The Attack

When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, it was a shock to the core of the United States

of America.

Even though it was essentially a military target, it was technically on US soil, and

it was the first time such an incident had occurred in modern United States history.

Most Americans were blindsided and could hardly believe what had happened, but the truth was

that even civilians who had been watching could likely have seen this coming for a long

ways off.

The buildup to Pearl Harbor was over the course of a good decade or so, as the Japanese continued

to try to expand their territory and holdings, and the United States felt the need to slow

down or stop them entirely.

To this end, the United States applied sanctions of various sorts against Japan over the years,

increasing the tension but not resolving anything.

The Japanese wanted to aggressively take territory, but we were the biggest thorn in their side

and they knew how dangerous we were.

Their goal was to cut off our supply abilities at the knees so they could gain momentum before

we could stop them -- they knew they needed to act extremely fast.

5.

Japan's Strategy May Have Been Well Calculated, But Some In Leadership Had Misgivings

While Pearl Harbor may have been an extremely calculated move against a military target,

it was also an incredibly risky strategy, and some in the Japanese leadership knew it

and even voiced their misgivings, but were ultimately ignored.

Admiral Isoroku, the man in charge of the Japanese Navy during World War II, felt from

the start that the entire outlook was grim, and while he obeyed orders as a soldier and

worked to the best of his abilities, he was not hopeful.

Admiral Isoroku was worried that Japan's cities which were densely packed, populated

and made mostly of flammable material, would be susceptible to major air raids.

This part proved incredibly prescient, as General Curtis LeMay's bombing raids leveled

a huge portion of Japan's infrastructure and slaughtered countless innocent people.

He was also worried that Japan's economy would not be able to sustain itself during

a long war, and that they had a very short time to win.

Pearl Harbor was supposed to give them a huge head start -- otherwise they had no chance

at all.

4.

It May Surprise Some Americans That In Japan, The Non-Atomic Bombs Are Often Forgotten

In the United States of America, we spend a lot of time commemorating various wars or

other patriotic events, and we have a lot of holidays about them.

Arguably, there are at least three that center entirely around events regarding war, and

they are all official holidays: Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and The Fourth Of July.

For this reason, we would think that in Japan, all of the various bombings and air raids

we conducted against them would be acknowledged by the Japanese government, and commemorated

as a sad and or solemn event of some kind -- especially something as serious as the

firebombing of the city of Tokyo.

However, these events have been largely ignored and the Japanese activists who try to bring

light to these events find resistance.

The authorities feel that some of the material released, or too much acknowledgement of what

happened, could make the Japanese government from the time period look bad for not ending

the war earlier, when their citizens were suffering so horribly from such horrific raids.

The other issue is that there has been little momentum over the years to talk more about

all the firebombing raids, because everyone was enthralled by the power of the atomic

bomb, and wanted to talk about nothing else after it dropped.

3.

The Japanese Did Not Just Take The Bombing Of Tokyo, They Punished Innocent Chinese

After the Doolittle Raid, the first attack on Tokyo shortly after the bombing of Pearl

Harbor, the Japanese were furious and wanted immediate revenge.

However, the American mainland was a long ways away, and the Japanese wanted to get

revenge now.

Well, as it turns out, the Doolittle raid was basically one way, and the pilots needed

to land in China in order to survive.

The American government even feared that the Japanese would retaliate brutally and that

the Chinese military would not be able to stop them, but the government went through

with the raid anyway, and the airmen happily accepted the Chinese help they were offered

when they landed -- they even gave gifts and other trinkets in honest thanks.

Unfortunately, the entire thing soon became a nightmare.

The Japanese not only wanted to get revenge, but more strategically, they realized that

this was a major vulnerability.

They went on a massive sweep through the Eastern Coast of China, razing villages to the country,

slaughtering countless civilians and raping women.

Those who were found to have directly aided and abetted the American Airmen were singled

out for particularly humiliating and gruesome torture, the trinkets they had been given

in thanks now giving them away as helpful post-conspirators in the Doolittle Raid.

2.

Many People Don't Realize That The Japanese Did Not Respect All Their Enemies Equally

As we mentioned in the above entry, the Japanese decided that since they couldn't reach our

mainland, our closest vulnerable ally was the best to punish.

Some people believe that that Japanese also punished the Chinese though, because they

feared even worse United States and Western retaliation if they did the worst things they

did against the Chinese, against Westerners.

The Japanese singled out the Chinese people for the very worst experiments from their

notorious Unit 731, but that was only the beginning of their biological attacks against

the enemy they respected the least.

The Japanese infected the food supplies of many villages they had raided and left in

China with cholera, and they deliberately infected fleas with the bubonic plague over

Chinese villages as attempts at and experiments on biological warfare.

Recently in Japanese courts, despite the denials of the government, the Japanese courts ruled

that the government during World War II did indeed order and authorize such things.

However, despite the court repudiating the Japanese government's continued denials, they

also state that under Japanese law, and international agreements, the Japanese government does not

have to pay anything to living victims or their families.

As far as the authorities are concerned, any reparations for anything regarding the war

have already been paid by Japan with agreements made at the end of the war, and it is all

over and done with.

1.

Many Think Pearl Harbor Was As Close As They Got To America, But This Isn't So

Most people think that the Japanese only ever got as far as Pearl Harbor, but there were

occasions where they actually struck a little closer to the mainland -- although not severely

enough that most people remember much about either incident.

In 1942, a Japanese submarine patrolling off the coast of Los Angeles near Santa Barbara

damaged an oil well on Elwood Beach before making its escape.

However, the stranger attempts by the Japanese to get at our mainland were their fire balloons.

The Japanese were getting desperate and willing to try anything against the United States

in 1944, so they launched about 9,000 fire balloons, which were balloons meant to float

across the ocean, and deliver an incendiary payload onto the mainland United States, hopefully

over an area where fire would spread easily.

A few hundred made it across the ocean, but most of those were shot down.

People in fifteen different states did report seeing them, but their design was clearly

not great, as an incident where a balloon exploded not long after landing, and killed

a pregnant woman and five children, was the only time any of their balloons worked.

It is also the only officially recorded incident where a someone was hurt on United States

soil, during World War II, by an attack from a declared enemy.

S. Koreans honor Kim Bok-dong, late victim of Japan's sexual slavery - Duration: 2:34.

for the victims of sexual slavery by Japan during World War two the so-called

comfort women Kim bok-dong who was herself enslaved by the Japanese

military died at the age of 93 and today hundreds of South Koreans have gathered

here in Seoul to honor her and ascending off ceremony as part of her funeral

their wish they say as for Kim as she leaves this world to fly like a

butterfly and our one jeong-hwan is at the ceremony in front of the Japanese

Embassy so what's the feeling like over there hi ji Yoon it's an atmosphere of

mixed emotions right here in front of the Japanese embassy there is a statue

representing the comfort woman and just less than an hour ago there were

hundreds and hundreds of people gathered for the memorial ceremony to mourn Kim

bok-dong a victim of the Japan's wartime sexual slavery and hundreds of people

have made gestures of remembrance for Kim who is well known for to raise

public awareness of the issue the gathering began at 6:30 this morning at

Yonsei severance hospital in western seoul where crowds have been coming to

pay their respects and after that people marched together

all the way to the Japanese embassy here in the center of Seoul emotions are

mixed here as as people gathered in front of the embassy for the first time

during the victims memorial ceremony and still have never received a sincere

apology from Tokyo when she was alive she strongly condemned Japan for not

making a sincere apology often coming right here to the front of the embassy

to demand a compensation to the victims for their suffering kim traveled to

various places in europe the united states and japan to share her painful

story she also spent most of her later years advocating for the anti-war

movement and campaigning for women's rights issues becoming a symbolic figure

in korea and worldwide for her work in uncovering the truth about sexual

slavery and for her active role in promoting women's rights

the des brings the number of Korean survivors of Japan's sexual slavery down
