This year we had our first edition of the Scienteens Academy!

It's a 7-day holiday program where we work with high-school students from all over the

country.

The Scienteens Academy is like a little Bootcamp for teenagers, for them to see how the work

as a scientist is and to experience it.

It's a unique experience where you learn how it's like to be a scientist and you really

have the opportunity to work with stuff you don't have at school and you learn a lot of

new stuff.

It's just great!

I participate at the Scienteens Lab because I can imagine myself a future in science and work in research.

That's why I wanted to find out how it is to work in a laboratory and for now it makes

a lot of fun!

For me it's pretty much the same, you always have to get thru some theories but afterwards

it's very interesting how practice and theories combines.

What is mainly fascinating about science is just the understanding of the smallest scales,

understanding the tiniest parts of the universe itself and also just trying to understand

everything that happens around us and how we can improve things or how to control them.

The Scienteens Lab gave us the opportunity to try new things, to see how to work in a

laboratory or at least what it looks like.

Our main focus are Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Math.

Depending on what you want to search you get different data and a different data-set tells

you something more about how the whole thing works.

We focus on systems Biology, we try to be very interdisciplinary bringing Math, Informatics

and Biology together in one workshop.

At the Scienteens Academy they can really go in-depth into Science.

We want to attract the high-school students which are much more interested in science

and who really want to do it, also in their free time.

The Scienteens Lab is one a many initiatives that we support to strengthen the scientific

culture, especially for the youth because when we invest in research it's important

to include the youth and to open new possibilities and new careers in the future.

The Scienteens Lab is a wonderful initiative, it is the possibility for students from different

ages to enter the university and experiment with real equipment, together with real researchers

and together create interesting, exciting and instructive experiments and activities.

Lowell Ness, Securities Lawyer: Digital Securities Provide a Far Superior Form of Record Keeping - Duration: 5:33.

So my name is Lowell Ness, I'm a

corporate securities partner at Perkins

Coie in the Palo Alto office- been in

Silicon Valley for most of my career and

spent a lot of time with startup

companies and venture capitalists. I

think digital securities in my mind

comes down to a far more efficient way

of record-keeping for securities in

general and I do see a progression

here from private markets to public

markets and I think it probably is a

perfect opportunity right now for

private companies especially in Silicon

Valley that you know we're open to kind

of new cap table type solutions -

we've seen eShares and other solutions

like that--now they're called Carta--coming out

of the woodwork because there's some

openness to that. That fact is

actually an important fact because cap

table migration is impossible and nobody

wants to do it. When you marry the fact

that we're open in Silicon Valley to

sort of cap table migration to the

concept of blockchain as a

technology to underpin the

record-keeping, I think there's an actual

real opportunity right at this moment to

do an amazing kind of new blockchain

based ledger system that will

track private company stock and we've

seen a lot of the public companies like

NASDAQ and others getting interested in

this for the very reason that they seed

it as a step towards the public

company sphere, so I think digital

securities are coming and it's the wave

of the future. So I did get a chance to

start out working on digital securities

at kind of the very beginning of,

you know, the early t0 project with

Overstock and architecting some of the

the very first kind of concepts around

how to do it and it was you know an

incredibly novel thing at the time.

That's, you know, something that

we had to deal with the SEC on and

frankly it was amazing to see how tuned

in the SEC was even three or four years

ago when that took place. I think we've

made a tremendous amount of progress

since then and we're starting to see now

more of these alternative trading

systems and ATSs starting to get

approved and so I think we're you

know timing-wise right on the cusp of

seeing a lot more digital securities

coming to market and having places to

trade. So Perkins Coie is a tech firm

first and foremost and I would say we're

a very entrepreneurial group and so you

know speaking for myself I've coded

a you know major form system on several

occasions now that does document

automation for all of the venture

capital forms that we use in my practice.

All of us have stories like that and so

it's an incredibly entrepreneurial firm,

we're sort of a mix of lawyers and you

know geeks that go out and code things.

So yes we are, Perkins is very

entrepreneurial and I think that's going

to be important when it comes to dealing

with digital securities in the

transition from you know the paper

securities to the digital world. I do

think there's going to be a number of

interesting technology choices that

speed things up and make things better

that will make things also different

from the way that we handled them

previously that needs to be back stopped

with an actual contract and so our forms

are going to change a bit in some

unexpected ways but so it's going to be

important for all of us to be on top of

some of the the nuances in the new forms

for raising capital for private

companies on a digital securities

platform. So I think we're

here at this really important

roundtable event talking about some very

interesting ways in which we could

develop this new protocol for digital

securities and I've been really

impressed with the people who are here. I

was telling somebody earlier that this

is, I think my third time going through

this process of trying to define the

parameters and requirements for a

digital securities platform and it's by

far kind of the best way to do it that

I've experienced so far. We have a lot of

experts from transfer agents to broker

dealer types to people involved in

commodities trading to former regulators

and everything else and so I do think

we're gonna get Best of Breed kind of

input into the protocol which is

incredibly important for something

that's going to be transformational like

a digital securities platform. So

standardization is going to be an

important driver for digital securities

for the same reason it is an important

driver in any software based project

it's going to, you know, require a lot of

people to speak the same language in

order to--and the code--to speak the same

language in order to develop the right

applications on top of a protocol that

is common for everyone to use.

How to Find #Numbers #Digital ##Trends with #President? English Edition Translations Captions - Duration: 10:31.

hi guys okay this is how to find numbers digital trends with the president so

this is related to numbers and their digital trends related to the President

and so this is one of the things that I've noticed recently especially the

number 45 and I didn't think about it before it's just that it's only because

that I've been receptive to this knowledge myself related to critical

thinking and that's the only reason that it's surfacing for me you know related

to well they're called synchronicities and so i started noticing that some of

the numbers are repetitive and and and and and it had me wondering like why are

they repetitive why are these numbers repetitive why are the phone numbers

repetitive what what is it about these numbers but then I was thinking well

like for example phone companies can control the numbers that they issue out

and so those numbers can be related to the presidential elections and things

like that or things that would create a trend in our society and I because I saw

a I saw this is what kind of triggered my memory or my thinking you know about

this specific sheet page is I saw a car commercial yesterday and it was talking

about 46 and so it had the numbers 45 in their car commercial and it had 46 and

so then it gets me thinking okay so they're orchestrating in advertising

they're orchestrating numbers related to the presidential election and so this is

how to find numbers how to find numbers in digital trends related to

presidential elections and so then I drew a little Trump right here

he's how he's so much fun to draw as far as a little character you can't say he's

the best president but he's funded as a little character here and so up

here I've got well this is related okay so I drew what did I put on his pants

oh great hair great hair do you see that and then I put a hole and so we've got a

hole there that the flag is in the hole the flag and so we have like an American

flag there are some synchronicities or some trends and words there we've got

golf the military uses the word golf only it's spelled differently GG Ulf

golf i think the military golf is g Ulf or is it golf I don't know but anyway

and and so it's the phonetic alphabet and then and that affects our trends the

military phonetic alphabet affects our trends and we've got the pole the ball

in the club and so even the military itself they have clubs they have a

clubhouse for they called it troopers troopers the last I knew I don't know if

it's called that anymore but they're troops the military our troops

you know troopers and so you can see how that's related to law enforcement to we

have state troopers and so yeah I just wanted to I didn't wanted to share that

with you guys up here we've got card club the billy club club cracker

clubhouse and club soda so there's a lot of clubs here we've and so card club is

you know that's where people get together I don't know how many people

are familiar with it or not you know if people still get together for card clubs

I know that's something older folks did but I was never playing cards was not

something that I ever did yeah I wasn't really interested in it but I know a lot

of people are you know still might be I don't know but then you've also got the

club on the cards - so that's related to gambling and so yeah so if you think

about we can take it a little further - these are things I don't even have

written down so gambling so if you think of gambling you know like Las Vegas they

do you think of the Trump hotels the casinos hospitality and

and and some of the a lot of this was actually in the military when it

transitioned from when it transit transition from the military doing the

from from the government to privatize so there was a point that the government

was handling the the billeting and then they privatized it and brought in all

these privatized companies to do it and so but I actually questioned that

because the fact that of I have my own theories about that because I actually

worked in billeting in the not ability I worked in guest lodging is what it was

well it's the same thing billeting just another word but it was the hospitality

when I lived in Kansas and so this was before it transitioned over to private

and so private just means that they bring in hotels and they just have

hotels on post then so that that's product placement you know the military

bases and so somebody still has to pay and so hotels are in the business of

wanting to make a profit you know so so they want to increase their their their

their real estate investment so in order for them to increase they'd have to

increase the size of the military they'd have to increase like everything if they

want to make a profit off the military they'd have to increase hospitality and

I'm not so sure how that's gonna be done with low wages because the less money

that people have to spend the less money that people have to spend the less that

they're going to be able to stay in a hotel and and so I I just have my own

theories on how yeah mismanagement could take place you know yeah that's the I

just have my own theories and I've shared a lot of that with you

oh the the one of the biggest reasons is when I lived on Fort Knox they were

getting ready to tear the quarters down and see in the past like okay I'm gonna

go back a little further in California we stayed in World War two barracks we

shared bathrooms we had a shared bathtub and shower

you know what granted the women and men were separate but we stayed in old World

War II barracks then in Fort Knox we stayed in we had old World War two

barracks there too when we're going when we're going there to Fort Knox we had a

shared bathroom and and the interesting part was the people had a dog and I was

I always remember the dog drinking out of the toilet and they were next door to

us and so so it was a that type of bathroom where you locked the door from

the other side to use the bathroom and then you unlocked it so you had a shared

bathroom in there and you know so I was never part of staying in the hotels I

mean I knew that they had some that for the officers and stuff like that or they

had oh I wouldn't I would say nicer they had nicer ones so there was like a tier

level for the officers even though the officers might not have made that their

pay might not have been that much better because when you kind of think about it

most of the military doesn't live high on the hog like they just don't most of

the the military just does not live high on the hog in mansions and and you know

with I mean granted they might have a nice car but they just don't live high

on the hog so so this the sentiment of of privilege you know and attaching a

certain word that that still just doesn't make any sense to me

you know how because the affluence is is individual people and I've never been

part of affluence and so yeah I've just never been part of affluence before and

so white people would take and it attached that to me I'll never know

the because it's just never been my life so

and and yeah but anyway you know you maybe you can attach it to Trump but not

me because I'm like a I'm a former military spouse or you know they mean I

learned a lot of things from the military actually apparently I learned a

lot more things than I ever realized and and it's just kind of like things are

kind of like falling into place you know in a lot of ways I didn't

realize how many you know by kind of looking back on my own life how there's

all these synchronicities and things of yeah all these synchronicities that are

kind of put together that this coding that the military has been doing that's

the that's the thing that's most interesting to me is the coding and I

guess maybe some computer put it together to to do the things that it did

because the military's had computers for a long time so that kind of makes sense

to me but yeah so so yeah but anyway that's it for right now I guess I don't

really have anything else to say I didn't want to debate with myself and

that's sometimes that's what I ended up doing is debating with myself anyway

that's it else see you guys soon I love you know what you think of my little

cartoon too so see you soon

Improving CX for The FA | Leading in Digital | Cognizant UK & Ireland - Duration: 1:34.

Innovation can and should happen in weeks not months.

And the way we do that is we bring teams together with a whole range of dispense, strategists,

the designers, data experts, technologists, and a range of roles from the client side

as well, all working together.

That team diagnosed what the key business problems are, develop solutions to that in

terms of new customer experience ideas and then we rapidly move to prototype those to

kind of make them real.

And then finally we look to scale those prototypes for maximum impact.

For Monsanto we applied that process they wanted to transform the relationship they

had with their farmers.

So we used ethnography to understand what was going on in the farmers lives what their

paying points were and we spotted a really interesting opportunity to present a new product

to them.

Which essentially allows the farmers, on a mobile device to understand how their crops

are performing and increase the crop yield.

It uses machine learning, IoT, satellite imagery of the fields and a whole range of technologies

to present that to the farmer.

We've actually scaled it beyond the prototype to 30,000 farmers and on average they save

27%of their water consumption.

Which has a huge cost benefit to them but also it's also a great thing environmentally.

As the digital transformation partnerfor the Football Association.

we look to their customer experience and we're working with them to understand user needs,

understand pain points and develop new customer experience ideas for them.

But what we're also doing, is working with them very closely to understand their brand

strategy.

What do they stand for, what do they mean to people and they've got a really inspiring

inclusive mission, to bring people into the game to bring the enjoyment of football to

everyone.

Whether you're a referee, Whether youʼre a player, whether youʼre a fan, whether youʼre

a coach.

Whatever stakeholder they have.

That's why we designed and built a new app that encourages girls to get into football

and we're building an app that allows five aside football teams to organise themselves

and play more and get out and enjoy football.

And weʼll continue to develop more apps and digital products like that.

In line with the Football Association's brand vision.
