You can quickly investigate issues by going to Service Dashboard

and drilling down into a service.

Note that services, domains, and hierarchies

must first be configured

in Service Configuration.

Let's open Service Dashboard.

A service called SharePoint Users West is experiencing some failures.

This is a service we set up to monitor SharePoint traffic for our West Coast offices.

Let's drill down for more information.

It brings us to the associated service monitor

(in this case Universal Monitor)

Here, we can see lots of useful data.

We can see when an issue occurred.

And using location key information,

we can see where it occurred

and who it impacted.

We can also see important metrics,

including failures

and latency.

The graphs at the bottom

show performance in select areas

over the span of the time frame.
