Наклейки своими руками просто (eng sub) Self-adhesive stickers - Duration: 6:47.

Hello!

I'm glad that you went to the channel TessaArt.

Today we will do it stickers with your own hands.

The list of materials will be in the description under the video.

In the beginning, you need to draw drawings, or print

them from the internet and cut them out those that you like.

I will tell you four ways, which can be done

stickers.

We need a two-way Scotch tape, we glue on it a drawing.

And from the top we glue it to the usual scotch tape.

We cut it out and leave it for check.

For the second method we need paper for

baking, cut a piece in the shape of our picture.

Top on food paper adhesive adhesive tape.

Paper here is a protector, that is, we then shoot it

and paste the picture.

For now the paper is pasted picture can be worn with

and naturally it will not get stuck.

Next, put our pictures on scotch tape and on top again

we paste with usual scotch tape.

It remains to cut them and here an important point, step back

from the picture about two millimeter, that at us

the upper scotch is stuck to the bottom, and the picture was

between two layers of scotch tape.

And just leave pictures inspection.

In the third method again take the paper for baking,

glue a pencil, as well as paint tape.

First on baking paper paste the paint tape.

And from above with the help of the usual glue our drawing.

Apply transparent tape that our picture shone

and stayed longer.

It remains only to cut off superfluous.

In the fourth way, we Need glue PVA liquid,

a brush and an adhesive tape.

First we will take scotch tape and paste our drawings on it

picture down.

Then we cut out the shape, and now just a brush

with glue we smear our pictures and let it dry.

Well, let's check all our four ways.

I'm taking my sketchbook, by the way. I have a video like his

do it yourself, link will be in description

under the video.

We take a sticker, which we did the first way,

unfasten the protection of both sides Scotch tape.

And stick.

Is very good and for me this method has remained

the best.

Check the labels for the second method.

The principle is also good keeps and looks normal.

Now the sticker for the third way, unglue the paper.

I do not hold very well well, I would have glued it again

glue for example, can u me scotch is not very good.

And there were stickers made the fourth method, we will

moisten with water and glue.

They keep well.

And my conclusion is that the first method is the best, the fourth

the method is also pretty good, you only need to apply

More PVA glue and wait until it dries.

And the second and third method or I did not work,

or they are in principle so itself.

Here are such stickers you can decorate your album,

sketchbook.

I hope you enjoyed it, put your finger up, sign

per channel.

Also do not forget to subscribe on group vkontakte and lay out

there a photo of their work.

Do not miss the new videos, bye Bye!

Falana backs Danjuma on 'call for self defence' - Duration: 4:02.

Falana backs Danjuma on 'call for self defence'

- Gen Theophilus Danjuma has been backed in his call for Nigerians to defend themselves against killers by Femi Falana.

- The senior advocate stated that the former minister could sue critics of his statement for libel; as he pointed out that the comments were accommodated under the Constitution.

- Citing various examples, Falana stressed that Nigerians have a right to defend themselves, if the government is unable to do so.

Renowned human rights advocate and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has thrown his support behind the former minister of defence, Lt Gen Theophilus Danjuma (retd), in respect to the latter's call for Nigerians to defend themselves against killers.

According to The Nation, Falana made his position known at a training programme organised for reporters of the publication. NAIJ.com gathers that he stated that the right to protect one's self from violent attack was recognised by the Constitution.

The lawyer stated that Danjuma could sue critics of his statement for libel, as he noted that the media has been awash with suggestions that the former minister's comments are call to anarchy.

He said: "Some of the reactions on Danjuma's statement could be libelous. What Danjuma said is accommodated under our Constitution..

The senior advocate also noted that although Section 33(1) of the 1999 Constitution recognises the right to life, such right might be lawfully circumscribed in accordance with Section 33(2).

He continued: "Section 33(2) says a person shall not be regarded as having been deprived of his life if he dies as a result of the use, to such extent and in such circumstances as are permitted by law, of such force as is reasonably necessary – for the defence of any person from unlawful violence or for the defence of property.

"If the government is unable to save you as in the case of Benue, Kogi and Zamfara attacks, you have a right to defend and save yourself.

So, if you insult Danjuma that he is inciting violence, that could be a ground for him to sue you for libel..

com previously reported that senior lawyer, Itse Sagay, said Nigerians are permitted by law to defend themselves from being attacked by bandits.

Sagay who serves as the chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) made the statement on Sunday, March 25, in reaction to calls by a former minister of defence, Theophilus Danjuma, that Nigerians should defend themselves against herdsmen attacks.

He said allegations by Danjuma that the armed forces were assisting bandits to kill people and cover them should be investigated.

Meanwhile, General Theophilus Danjuma (retd) was commended by Niger Delta activist, Annkio Briggs, over his call on Nigerians to rise and defend themselves.

The convener of the Niger Delta Self-Determination Movement (NDSDM) in a statement on Monday, March 26, said that Danjuma stood for equity, justice and truth by speaking against what she called ethnic and religious cleansing.

Self-driving cars safety - Duration: 5:25.

How safe should self-driving cars be? This question is becoming increasingly

important as companies like Waymo, Uber and others test their self-driving

vehicles on public roads. But answering it turns out to be more complicated than

it might first seem. Around the world, something like 1.3 million people are

killed each year by vehicles. If self-driving cars could put a dent in

this, it would be a great achievement. Many of these deaths are down to human

error. In contrast, self-driving cars don't

drink. They don't text. And they don't fall asleep at the wheel. Reducing deaths

and injuries from these causes shouldn't be too hard for self-driving car

manufacturers. But it'll only count if their technology is so good that it

doesn't end up killing or injuring people in other ways! Here, manufacturers

are going to have to work hard to ensure their cars don't fall into human-like

behaviors like mis-reading road conditions, or missing important safety

cues. But they're also going to have other challenges to grapple with, like

sensors that fail to detect pedestrians, or algorithms that misinterpret what are

the car sees. Or even machine brains that just plain make bad decisions. Because of

these new and as yet poorly understood risks, manufacturers are going to have to

take great care to ensure their vehicles are acceptably safe. But this still

leaves us with the question of how safe is safe enough? Human drivers are a good

place to start here, and where better to look than Arizona, where many of these

vehicles are currently being tested. It's also sadly where the first pedestrian

was killed by a self-driving car. In 2016, 952 people were killed in vehicle

crashes in Arizona, and many of these were down to human weaknesses. For

instance, 21 percent of the drivers involved in these crashes were impaired

by alcohol drugs or medication. And two percent of them by illness sleep or

fatigue. Imagine what these figures would look like if 30 percent of those

vehicles on the road were driving themselves. There's a chance that around

90 lives a year could be saved -- as long as the self-driving technology was

completely safe. But what if it wasn't? What are these autonomous

vehicles also ended up killing some people who otherwise would still be

alive? In this case, how do we work out what acceptably to be safe means? One way to

approach this is to use the number of fatalities per billion miles traveled.

In urban Arizona, there were 518 people killed by cars in

2016, or around 11 people killed per year for every billion miles traveled in the

state. This is equivalent to around a 1 in 13,000 chance of being killed by

vehicle each year if you live somewhere like Phoenix. Maybe this should be the

benchmark for self-driving cars, or maybe a slightly lower number; say 8 deaths per

billion miles traveled. This sounds like a reasonable target. The only problem is

it's not that easy to prove if and when it's been reached. According to research

from the RAND Corporation, if a company had a fleet of 100 vehicles driving

around the clock, and wanted to show a 20% improvement in car related deaths

somewhere like Phoenix, it would take around 15 and a half years of testing

with no fatalities to achieve this. Things look even worse if a tighter

standard of a 20% improvement in pedestrian deaths for self-driving cars

compared to human drivers is used. In this case, it would take closer to 53

years of death-free testing with a hundred vehicles on the road. These sort

of timelines are clearly unworkable for demonstrating safety. Ironically, they're

so long because relatively few people are killed by cars compared to the

number of miles driven in the US, and so it takes a long time to build up

statistically significant data. An alternative approach is to rely more on

performance standards that ensure self-driving cars are designed for

safety under the toughest of conditions, and to monitor for early warnings of

potential failures -- ideally before anyone's killed. And because this is an

evolving technology, such performance standards should evolve along with it.

This would help develop the technology safely while not slowing it down

unnecessarily. But on the way, there will inevitably be crashes. And this is where

regulators and manufacturers need to start working with

communities, so that they can work together on what being acceptable safe

actually means. For instance, it may be decided that testing around residential

areas is okay, but not around schools. Or it may be agreed that testing where

pedestrians are likely to be paying less attention -- college campuses for instance --

is not such a good idea. On the other hand, it may turn out that local

communities are pretty risk tolerant when they see the potential benefits. You

never know until you ask! The bottom line is that, while self-driving cars could

make roads safer if the technology is developed responsibly, it's up to

manufacturers, regulators, and everyone else affected by them, to decide how safe

is safe enough -- and what they're willing to risk to reach the benefits the technology.

Basic self care strategies - Duration: 6:48.

Today, I want to share with you six basic self-care strategies that you can use

when you want to feel more balanced and composed and less stressed and overwhelmed.

Hi, welcome back, nice to have you here!

In case we haven't met yet: welcome!

I'm Thea and this channel is all about style, confidence and embracing your life.

I promised you a video about my "personal power plants"

- the things that I do to recharge my batteries

and to take care for myself and for my spiritual, mental and physical well-being.

But I realized that one video would be way too long, so I split it in two parts

and this is the first part where I want to share my basic self-care strategies with you.

In the next part I want to go deeper in my personal self care routines.

So let's dive right into today's topic and let me tell you about the six self-care strategies

that you can use to feel more balanced and composed.

Point number one is your nutrition and your food.

Always eat your vegetables and fruits like your mama told you ;-) - but it's not only that.

I for myself try to eat lots of vegetables, a little bit of fruit and also lots of protein.

I found out when I eat protein I feel better.

I'm not getting hungry as soon as when I just eat carbohydrates,

I feel more satisfied for a longer time - so it really works for me.

But you should go and find out for yourself which kind of foods work for you.

I for myself also try to avoid processed food as much as possible -

I like it to cook fresh and to eat fresh food.

Of course, sometimes I also crave fast food or sweets,

but I try to let it be an exception and as long as it is just an exception, it's okay for me.

And as we are talking about nutrition -

I also want to remind you to keep an eye on your vitamin intake and your mineral intake.

I told you that I suffered from a burnout and from depression several years ago

and later on my doctor found out that I suffered from a severe vitamin deficiency.

I lacked vitamin D and vitamin B12 and these are really needed if you want to have healthy brain function

and it also helps against depression.

Another thing I want to say when I talk about food:

Make sure you eat when you're hungry or maybe even a little bit before you really get hungry and "hangry".

Never neglect the need of your body for fuel and give you body the best fuel you can get, depending on your budget.

It doesn't have to be organic if that's too expensive for you,

but make sure that it's fresh and really good food.

Point number two: make sure you sleep enough!

I know that sounds very basic and it is very basic but it is really needed for your body to recharge overnight.

Overnight your body does a lot of work that helps you to stay healthy and fit,

so make sure that you get your sleeping hours in.

In average you should sleep between 7 & 8 hours at night - it depends on your physique and on your health.

Point number 3: Hydration.

Make sure you get enough liquid into your body each day for your fluid balance.

I personally try to drink 3 liters a day.

I mostly drink tea - not only green tea but also fruit teas and herbal teas.

I also drink lemon water and other non sugary drinks.

And when I'm outside, I always have a half liter water bottle in my handbag

so I'm sure that I stay hydrated all the time.

Point number four is "move your body".

If you like to go to the gym - do that, that's fine!

But there are many more possibilities to move yourself

- like going for a walk or walking your dog

or maybe you can just go dancing.

Find a kind of sport or workout or exercise that really fits into your life

and into your lifestyle - and that fits your needs.

Maybe you like to go hiking or rock climbing or fencing

or bungee jumping or swimming

or horse riding - whatever it is that you like.

Point number five is: take care of yourself and your hygiene.

Take care for your appearance and how you look.

I did a whole video about style and self-care and I will link it for you up there and down below in the description box.

Point number seven is emotional hygiene.

It's as important as your hygiene for your body.

So, what do I mean by that?

Sometimes we are stressed out and we have very intense emotions

and then it's time to go and sit with these emotions to process them -

otherwise we will be stuck in one emotion for a long time.

So, if you're feeling intense emotions upcoming, then take a quick break and find out what they are.

Let's say you feel overwhelmed or stressed out or anxious or angry,

then take the time and have a little break.

Take one minute to really acknowledge the feelings that dwell up in you.

Admit to yourself that you are feeling this way.

When you recognize and acknowledge your feelings

it can help you to slow down and to get a fresh perspective and to think rationally again.

If you suffer from depression or if you are grieving

or if you have other feelings that are there for a long time and won't go away by itself

and if you feel that they impact your life quality,

then maybe it's time to go and find some professional help - I really recommend that to you.

But when you have just your "normal life" feelings then you can just sit with them,

acknowledge them and be aware of them

and it will take stress out of the situation and you won't be overwhelmed by your feelings so much.

So, these are my six basic self-care strategies for today.

In my next self-care video I want to talk more about my self care routines

and tell you more about my "personal power plants".

I really hope this video was helpful for some of you -

if you have any more basic self-care strategies then please let me know and share it in the comments,

I think we all can learn from each other.

If you liked this video, please give it a thumbs up - that helps me a lot -

and if you want to learn more about style or confidence and embracing life

or about self-care, then please consider subscribing to my channel.

I upload new videos about these topics at least once a week on Friday.

Thank you so much for watching this video, I see you in my next one

and until then embrace your life and be your unique, beautiful self.

Bye!

Abbie Gale

Evira-Abbie Gale

I Haven't changed if that's what u mean, its not like I think Oh! I have to do this, I

don't feel that something huge has happened and all that,of course im

always anxious at times like these but it doesn't make any difference to me, I want

to do things that will get my name out there, I like to project myself, but ok

everyone has their own insecurities anyway& but I like it.. I like this

Salvatore-Abbie Gale

I'm experiencing this as something that has multiple faces Its seems liked it has

been prepared and that it has to be worked so that it can be carried out

perfectly, that's the technical part of all this, I'm experiencing it like chemistry

firstly between us and then with the rest or like something which has many

unpredictable factors which we cant work with but which can be one of those things

that maybe achilleas can do with the drums, something that he doesn't usually

do and at that moment it takes you to another level even a setback that we can

overcome and make us look good.. generally we can experience this as a

theatrical play or even dancing,it might even feel like dancing, because there is a

rhythm,a movement, it has a beginning and an end, sometimes we don't even

know the end, and that's the part that is intriguing, the fact that u can never

predict the end

Pedal-Abbie Gale

I think about this a lot& Im watching a concert and I see the group that is going

to perform coming on to the stage, I look at how they are a few seconds before and

I think of us when we are just about to get on stage and the crowd is going to see us&

and right before that we might be having the silliest conversation

Achilles-Abbie Gale

There is a good side and there is a bad side.. There is a storm of new groups and

new artists, It might be easy for someone from sweden to listen to a new artist from

japan who plays great music but on the other hand everyday we see new english

speaking greek ands, but the truth is not all of us can play good music

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

I think that it derives from childhood when the child is presented to the

parents, infront of the eye which is examining, and that's why the word

examination has a double meaning, examine which means observing

something really well and on the other hand there are school examinations and

medical examinations.. so essentially examination is like constantly questioning

identity, a person who is on the stage becomes the object of the crowd's

attention, anything done looks bigger on stage, it gives away everything, I think that

even great artists get nervous before a show, I don't think there is even one artist

that isn't nervous on stage

Evira-Abbie Gale

I'm always nervous when I get on stage and to tell u the truth it doesn't go away

until half the show is over.. before I would make sure I had a drink or two so I would

be more loose, alcohol makes you comfortable.. but I don't drink anymore, I

go on stage sober.. just water, and a cigarette to relax

Pedal-Abbie Gale

Usually before we get on stage its like a feast here, lack of seriousness,we tease

each other, tell jokes silly stuff..

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

there are different mechanisms for example, a group which is united give's its

members power, they stand by each other, in a theatrical group the anxiety is

shared among the members. Going on stage just a word or the tone of the voice

can be support for the rest. But I would say that there is something stronger,

besides the nervousness that is handled in a way that wont disrupt them, it's the

desensitization.. its different when you are going on stage for the first time and there

is a difference if for instance its madonna who has performed a lot of times. I would

say it is addictive after a while.. the stage can be a great experience

Salvatore-Abbie Gale

I always hope firstly that we are dynamic with Pedal because he is the person that

we directly have to cooperate with on stage we complete each other even at

some points where for example at a live when one of us has a problem the others

have to do something about it if something doesn't work well we have to

catch it and do something about it, because that's the first thing that we have

to have on our mind. When I sing I work directly with Evi, I try to listen to Evi and

then myself combining and then with everyone else because we are a band and

we perform live, if someone needs something we know even if its not obvious

to the crowd, there is a connection between us which in our everyday lives is

not there because its not needed. But at that moment we feel very connected as

humans generally there is a kind of chemistry that comes out at that moment

because what we do might sound like a clichι but it the best way to describe it ''we

pour out our soul''

Achilles-Abbie Gale

we struggle to have many concerts without projecting ourselves as something

big like when its evira salvatore pedal and achilles its different as to when we

are Achilleas and Sotiris. Whatever characters we are in our everyday lives we

are the same when playing music or giving an interview or talking to someone. I don't

push a button and become Achilles and change the way I talk to you. But there are

many groups who have created images with a kind of mystery which in some

cases works more for them

Pedal-Abbie Gale

its true that a second personality is created, you are Pedal and you are playing

music now, but in interviews and anywhere else we use our real names, the

other names are only written on the cd's or on the website. But it does create

another person who is .. you its nobody else, you are just playing with your mind

at that moment you do it for yourself not for the others.. like im him and i play

music and i sing

Evira-Abbie Gale

At that point im a stranger, I don't know you, you don't know me, so we are not

having a coffee together. At that moment I will be like I would be with someone I

don't know, someone who im not comfortable with yet, now if that seems

like i'm acting

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

I don't think they do it to be protected from the crowd.. no..i think they do it

mostly for themselves. You know sometimes its nice to have a role going on

stage just to leave the rest of your real everyday life for a bit. For example Basilis

who is Jeremy might work at a store in the morning and at night when he goes on

stage he might want to separate himself from his morning life.. ok he doesn't live a

double life like Veronika.. but maybe that's the reason they do it just to get

away from their everyday life

Salvatore-Abbie Gale

Look there are times when that fact in particular doesn't look good to me but not

because I think its degrading to work in a cafeteria but because after a show I have

to do something to make money so maybe that's why if for instance we could live

from the band then things would be different but i think that's the reason

that we are doing something we love but to make a living we cant count on that

Achilles-Abbie Gale

Criticism generally helps get your name out there and of course good criticism

helps more than bad criticism, but not all of them are reliable. Sometimes the

person doing the review might be a friend so even if the show might not be one of

your best, he might move past the bad things and right good things like the

lighting was good and .. the atmpsphere was nice. but there is the opposite side

also which might not like you and maybe his editor told him to make a review on

Abbie Gale and maybe he doesn't like Abbie Gale.. and so he will try and find a

bad thing that might have happened and turn it into a big deal but generally

promotion is good for the band giving interviews having reviews written about

your cd's and show

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

Criticism that has no real reflection to what you do does no good just slows you

down, it doesn't give you any direction any advice. Criticism with some kind of

basis ma take the group to the next stage. Criticism which is written so some stupid

guy take out his frustration is no good to anyone..

Salvatore-Abbie Gale

A bad as one show can be the next show is always a different story and definitely An

approval if you have the feeling that it went really well.. it gives you the urge to

do more things. And if you have the feeling that the crowd was indifferent or

that it wasn't touched or that you didn't do well enough, again because we are

used to that or we learn to get used to it, anyway, we don't give up. That's the fate..

difficult but on the other hand beautiful

Pedal-Abbie Gale

Firstly we should clarify that in Greece popularity doesn't increase suddenly.. at

least in this business its rare. For you to do something you need to do it slowly and

you need the crowd.. which in no case is like the crowd the beatles had when they

became the beatles. Now if you are on stage and there is a crowd of thousands of

people shouting your name and going crazy with whatever you do, even if you

spit the go wild, women tearing their clothes or whatever then of course

something inside you changes

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

Of course on stage there is the factor that someone becomes loved and liked

from the others or there is a feeling of greatness like he's on stage and the crowd

is clapping or maybe throwing tomatoes

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

So many good things are out there and you don't here of them even superior to

foreign productions .. some which make you say .. what more did the other one

have.. of course there is a label behind that.. a big label..

Evira-Abbie Gale

The truth is that if someone doesn't know how to play an instrument for him

to focus on the drummer or the guitarist he will focus on the singer. He will expect

apart from the good vocal to see something beautiful. Not beautiful as

concerning appearance but as far as the scene is concerned. I don't believe that I

have this quality at least how other people see it. But there are so many other things

that can catch your attention, even a simple movement of the head. But the

important thing is that the frontman knows he can do it and i don't know it

yet

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

Now concerning the exposure on stage it sometimes has to do with the relationship

between the artist and the crowd and how he is accepted by it like if an artist is

having a show in an empty theatre well then that is quite awkward I don't think

that if there were only ten people there.. artists who have a crowd and are loved my

their fans, have fan clubs reaches a need for acceptance for love.. i think that the

whole world needs that

Achilles-Abbie Gale

Everytime we play outdoors.. we always tell crowd to come closer and closer .. so

in a show that we had at the beginning at the university the crowd was 30 meters

away chilling on the grass and would not come closer. But in a small bar people will

come closer and the atmosphere will get warmer.. but the band plays a part in this

.. maybe the band doesn't want the crowd to come closer but despite that it can

create a warm atmosphere.. but of course I don't know how warm an atmosphere

can get if the band is a black metal band..

maybe the crowd doesn't need a warm close atmosphere

Pedal-Abbie Gale

if the crowd is into us we get it and the whole show takes off, if the crowd is bit

cold, we cant get over that, how to stimulate a difficult crowd there is

contact and communication but up to a point and I think that its not something we

will make an effort for, to make contact for things beyond music.. whatever that

may be.. it will only be music and the

words said between the songs.

Salvatore-Abbie Gale

Another important thing is that when you are done, the show for you might

have gone well or maybe not, maybe you got disappointed from somethings and

tired from others, but basically its something like sex, as good as it may have

been for you, you always want to know what the other person thinks. And you

know the opinion you want to here first is from the people that are on stage with

you

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

I have seen a lot of concerts not only for documentaries, im just a person who likes

going to concerts.. I treat it like a kind of ritual especially if the band is having a

good time it's the immediate relation with music besides the fact that you can stay

home and listen to an album having pressed repeat and getting into the

mood its much better listening to it live without sitting at the back and talking

you are in front you are there these i believe are a concert's magical moments

On stage I feel as free as I feel in nature. A show can give the same feeling, that

calmness and that peace even if at that moment what you are playing is intense

and powerful.. it doesn't matter

Limits are totally subjective because you have other limits and I have different

ones. Artists wont think of the reactions but of what they would like to do

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

Creative people don't belong with the mainstream and aren't even liked in

classrooms its not because they are not conventional but because they are strange

Evi Stergiou-Daemonia Nymphe (demonic bride)

Whoever comes to a concert has chosen to so he knows what he is going to hear so

at some point he has accepted it..

concerning the presence on stage I think

that it is perceived from us and from the crowd as something united with the music

and it isn't distinguished and I believe that at our past shows where the theatrical

factor wasn't so much there.. it was demanded. I feel that there was a gap that

can be filled.

Julia Theodoropoulou-Stylist

A person that is a showman, either with his appearance or with the scene, is a

theatrical element because many times they have to make or promote an album

that tells a story and gets the audience into the mood

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

Firstly the meaning of a ritual has some elements which are its characteristics.. for

example there is a sense of support, of a road.. like the firewalkers in Northern

Greece.. if they forget a part of the symbolic acts they have to do.. then they

get burnt so there is a strict ritual.. something else that is included is

repetition. The third element of a ritual its function.. its function has to do with the

community's cohesion

Evi Stergiou-Daemonia Nymphe (demonic bride)

Every concert can give you different feelings depending on the space the time,

with what is going on in your life, with your mental state.. where I have

concluded is besides the differences that every concert has the common factor is

that before a show I try to concentrate and I have found some ways to achieve

that, either by being totally alone for a while or by doing some breathing

exercises like actors singers and musicians do. But I've always noticed that before I

go on stage there is a moment of panic, as much as you have prepared there is

always a bit of extroversion before I go up that I want to avoid but I cant.. maybe it's

a need to burst and after that you find the balance to go ahead.

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

A disguise has many uses.. there is the mask used in the theatre, where the mask

is based on a character and is always the same. The actor acts with that mask so

that he can get into the part. There are masks which are made from artists like in

a workshop where everyone takes out what they want. The mask is used in every

civilization, Halloween lets say is celebrated worldwide. What frees this

thing and how it free it? I think a mask helps to free you because it protects and

at the same time reveals,so it is a means of expression

Julia Theodoropoulou-Stylist

A person who is putting up a play is doing it because there is a kind of

storyboard lets say so you have to create an atmosphere so everyone can be

prepared for what they see like the scene the melody even the smoke which will be

coming out..when you go in you will think

'' what am I going to here'' and then when

the artist gets on stage ands starts singing

to you, you get excited and you forget

everything, because the goal of every singer or every band is to make you forget

your problems and takes you to a beautiful place

Evi Stergiou-Daemonia Nymphe (demonic bride)

An important fact that derives from ancient theatre is the use of the mask..

women wear masks in an effort to play a certain role. A masks goal is not to protect

us, that's not its use, but it helps us project the image that we want.

The three masks that me and the girls have now like I see it, coincides totally with us

I cant imagine me wearing Maria's mask or Eleni's or Eleni wearing Maria's or mine

and so on. Its like it totally relates to our character, like the mask has adjusted to us.

I don't believe it protects me nor does it expose me to anything, it doesn't help

me feel more secure, well maybe at first I believed I could feel more secure and

other times I believed I could get embarrassed. But I finally saw that when

im wearing the mask i forget that im wearing it.. its like a continuation like

the arm or the leg..

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

It helps get into the role of the mask I think and maybe it helps confront your

fears.. you cant see his face. Personality-person-deal with.. we say face to face.. tet

a tet.. all of these things with whatever meaning the words have, change with a

mask. The way of dealing with something changes when you put on a mask

Evi Stergiou-Daemonia Nymphe (demonic bride)

We know what we have to deal with fro the start, we've thought about it, we've

felt it, and we work with it. We don't think of ourselves. You don't think that the

crowd is looking at you, either way you are playing a role.

If the stage has a distance from the crowd or is higher than the crowd, or when its dark

and you cant see the crowd, there were times when even though there where so many people

we couldn't see any of them, its like playing by yourself. That was a totally

different feeling from any other show where the crowd was closer and on the

same level. There is a difference you might not get anything from the crowd

when its far away or you might see everything, I try to avoid that. I need a

distance, but that doesn't mean that I pretend there is no audience and they

don't play a part. Of course they play a part and I get influenced but I also want to

communicate but not directly. Like im an actor and I communicate through my part.

I don't want to be myself

The ritual of dressing up brings out creative stress which ultimately puts you

into the role.

The Callas

aris lakis ionas-the callas

- Mostly we depend on the whole scene, on the one hand we try and make all this

dream like with influences starting from Felini up to common architecture like the

crates we use and all these installments

we use, concrete, traditional flowers,

making the installments for a show, up to western culture, with superman and

super heroes, and all this is used like we are two supermen, so everyone can be a

superman, that's the philosophy behind all this.

- You know If I can do something then everyone can do it, or if you want to do

something very much then you will do it. That's how we played music-that's how

we started-we said we like this, we like playing music, we will try to learn to play

and so we did something if that's what you think

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

Look I believe that they realize they live in Greece.. I mean a rock band like this

doesn't have many prospects in Greece so you know they think .. lets at least do

what we do and have fun like don't get up there with the right songs and in the

right place just get up there and break the drums in the end and do whatever we

want it may even be a means of relief..

aris lakis ionas-the callas

Even the traditional breaking of the drums is a kids tactic copied by visual

artists since the 20ies.. I break the toy so its mine.. in some way when a child takes

something from the table and breaks it becomes familiar

Julia Theodoropoulou-Stylist

yes many play a role some do it because they see that they can entertain

the audience but they do it so they can entertain themselves as well. To make a

dream come true.. and when you are in disguise you put on something which you

usually wouldn't so you wont show your weakness, so it would seem that you are

confident, like this is who I am and so what if you don't like it. They do it to

stand up for themselves because maybe as human beings they are sensitive like

most artists are, sensitive people cant be tough

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

Personally I believe that even on Halloween the costume we pick out is not

random, like why does someone have to dress up like a woman and not for

example like Prince appeared, like a prince.. he feels that from dressing up

another side is projected either from a performance or on Halloween or on any

other occasion, something created by him and not from the marketing people

chosen by him.. i think there is a liberating factor and a communicative one to be

able to start a conversation with the other side

aris lakis ionas-the callas

Look even though we dress up like superman.. we are not that familiar with

comics.. our costumes are more like a direction or a message.. like if im

superman and I can play music then any

one can or we can all be superman under

circumstances etc and look for a super hero myth, one of the most intelligent, the

most talented, the greatest musician or whatever.. and coincidently it as one of

our favorite costumes when we were kids

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

Generally I believe that concerts are plays.. surely there is some relation to

plays. I notice it from the artists themselves, like they change the time that

they are getting on stage, their movement changes, their expressions. Yes I have

many examples in my mind now from Greek bands especially with the recent

group I have.. there is no relation to the morning and the whole day that we are

travelling and getting ready with the time they get on stage. Its like they step into a

bubble, isolating the rest and they are there performing, they are in their own

faze,its something special

aris lakis ionas-the callas

Despite our behavior and how we place ourselves on stage we try to keep a

distance from the audience. we never say hi we are the or goodnight etc.. we don't

talk, we don't say which songs we played, we play and we go

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

The Callas become different people, they are two guys who are very calm and low

profile and when they get on stage you are afraid that a guitar will hit you on the

head, they go crazy, its unbelievable for the Callas

Julia Theodoropoulou-Stylist

It the people that are a little more eccentric .. actually we call them eccentric

but they are normal if you go to another european country for example. Here its a

lost cause .. the effort is made for nothing here in Greece. And the companies wont

accept it because they think that it wont sell it wont be accepted..he will have to

adapt

aris lakis ionas-the callas

Labels have huge problems because of this because they themselves create the

groups for six months .. so it is not bought by anyone because they think why should

i buy something which i will throw away in six months .. i can download it.. in the past

things werent like that, u respected what you bought and appreciated it more and

you spent the money... now why should you spend money, there is no reason, if

you know that in six months you will find others and they will have been found by a

label through myspace. So as the situation evovles like this, the problem exists and

will keep on existing

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

I've seen lots of alcohol but i havent seen drugs in bands generally but with

foreign bands as childish as it may seem, there have been bands, that made great

albums, whilst they were invovled with drugs, and since they stopped the drugs,

there work was not that good. So drugs do something, they liberate you so you have

to be tough and let it take you down and dont learn to be creative only through

them

Dimitra Stavrou-Psychologist

Another case is when people have e certain personality structure that doesnt

need support. Drugs play the part of support.. they are like selftherapy not only

for artists but generally also for the others off stage. They are often a kind of

selftherapy. So under that sense of course they are used on stage and in ecery

difficult situation concerning life. Another use that doing drugs might have is that it

disables the inner eye..that which judges.. that which comes from the teachers, the

parents, the church and all of the ''have to'' which a person does not function nicely

with

aris lakis ionas-the callas

So.. we do yoga.. do we concetrate? No no its only in alcohol.. like depending on

what we are thinking of doing we drink the adequate amount of drinks ... before

we go onstage we have a beer. The last ten minutes we have one or two beers

and we go on with beer..

aris lakis ionas-the callas

In art there are some codes and you know its step by step... the more you are

there the more codes you learn and you can understand some things. Of course its

doesnt mean that if you dont know... dont come or its no use because i hear and silly

things like that... what i want to say is that there are a lot of people that for example

would never listen to our music but when they see us at a show they get excited

without knowing anything, no music, no nothing... Its clearly a matter of positive

or negative energy from the other person. If the person is positive and feels that

what they are looking at and listening to has something to give back with no

importance as to whether he has followes art or if he is a musician or anything else

he just sees it as something positive..

wheras someone else sees it negatively... is normal..

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

Especially with bands like Callas .. who dress up at their shows.. people who

didn't know them .. i think that.. in the beginning they looked at them

suspiciously. But at the same time dressing up exonerates you in a way... so

you seem to the crowd that you are making fun of what you are doing and the

other person realises that and gets then feeling

Julia Theodoropoulou-Stylist

The lively colours are chosen mostly by the band or the singer because they

obviously want to project that they are something different, because everyone

starts for that reason and its the bright colour that will be used like gold or red on

stage that meets the eye and catches your attention resulting in making you stay and

observe.. what can this person artist be

aris lakis ionas-the callas

Its hell.. there is a standard program before the show.. there is a certain time..

for example when we eat,we rest,we start drinking, now if they have told us

that we go on at 9 we set our watches so that at 9 we get on stage. If that might

change, and usually in Greece it does... if for example its 10 we are ok but if it goes

beyond 10 then things get out of hand so... generally eventhough we are loose at

shows we have discipline, and discipline is needed in what we do, so you are in

control of things

Gratsiella Kanellou-Director

They represent a generation which is way more confused.. with so much

information.. in the past it was folk, rock and maybe pop meaning Madonna.. i

think they represent a generation that doesnt like belonging.. it likes

experimenting with new sound. A more experimental phase

aris lakis ionas-the callas

It gives you the chance to dream, the thing you do, like man, you are always

dreaming of things, making plans. Im going to write a song, make an album. You

dream, if you stop it you know that it will be like shutting a big door. Dreaming is

like creating with your mind at least for us its maybe most important thing, even

making 200 euro.. what will you do with it?

In wake of Uber crash, how far do self-driving cars still have to go? - Duration: 2:43.

In regards to the recent Uber crash and the fatality and how it

plays out with public perception, I think that it is a setback. My expertise

around self-driving cars is mostly centered around a project that we're

doing for the National Science Foundation right now that's looking to

quantify one measure of safety, and in particular navigation safety, so how well

a mobile robot -- and that could be a self-driving car or any mobile robot,

really -- how well that robot knows its position, how much it trusts the

sensor information to give an idea of where that robot exists in space. All

these sensors, so laser rangefinders or lidar, radars, and GPS, and inertial

navigation sensors, they all have noise on them and they all have faults that

can occur to them. And so what we try to do is quantify how well that robot knows

its pose in the presence of these potential faults. And this becomes really

important not when you have a single robot wandering around a street but when

you have millions of these robots then all of a sudden the possibility that

these faults are going to cause an error, an error or a crash or any sort of fault,

is becomes a distinct possibility. I think the the car

companies and the autonomous vehicle companies, Waymo, Uber, whoever they

may be, are showing that there is a strong push to get self-driving cars on

the road and they're putting in a tremendous amount of resources to get this to work.

From our point of view we want to make sure that this is done safely, and I

think that it's important to get the technology on the road, to get it out on

the road quickly, we have to ensure safety so that the public has some level

of trust in these robots on the road, they have faith, they have trust that

these robots are not going to injure the people

inside the car or the other stakeholders who are using the space, bicyclists,

pedestrians, whoever it may be. So from our point of view we are very concerned

with proving that, you know, with mathematical analytical guarantees that

that these robots are safe, at least in terms of localization.

Driving Success: Self Discovery | HACTC | White River Toyota - Duration: 4:07.

This tech center is a great place to discover who you are and where you want to go.

Forget what people are saying about you, forget how you're defined, this is you're opportunity

to redefine yourself.

We believe all students can learn, regardless of circumstance, regardless of disability

or race or gender, that we believe all students and that there aren't any available excuses

that could be used to excuse why a student isn't learning.

When I first came into the program, I didn't think I was smart enough I thought that there

were going to be smarter people but it turns out I was just like them and they were just

like me.

I could see myself there and that's kind of what I wanna do in the future and that program

really helped me to figure out what I wanted to do.

When we come together and start sharing different experiences students don't feel as isolated

they feel that they might have more common interests than they would think, they learn

that there is a lot of different was of looking at other individuals.

It's amazing, a lot of times they come here and they're not really sure what we're about

or what they're about to a certain degree, what kind of learners they are and they really

start to find something they're passionate about.

We know our kids.

Our class I would say is definitely one of the strongest teams in the tech center.

We have to really trust each other while were using chainsaws, bulldozers.

We've also grown as a community as a team.

I never really been part of a team before and I really like this group of people.

In this program I am the only student of color, I'am from Guatemala and I was adopted and

I came here at 5 months.

I know I'm different, no one says it but you just know.

Before when things got hard I used to get really mad and didn't want to do things.

But our teacher he stands up for all of us for each of our individual learning needs

which is really nice, to have someone that understands how you learn and if you need

it a different way than he'll make sure that happens.

It doesn't matter who you are, we're teachers we're gonna teach it to you.

You're gonna learn how to do this if you want to, if you have a passion for it, if you wanna

try it we're gonna give you those opportunities, and we're gonna have so many people guiding

you and supporting you that your gonna be able to do it.

Now I just try even harder, now that's hard that's fine so try harder, put in the extra

work to do it.

She can do anything she wants, she's amazing, amazing roll model.

Size has nothing to do with it, gender has nothing to do with it.

You don't have to come here with any skills.

They teach all the skills you need to know.

All's you have to do is have the willingness, and the eagerness and a curiosity to learn.

I remember I walked in here knowing literally nothing, like I didn't even know how to jump

a battery right.

You actually feel like you're learning and you're part of a class, and you can do something.

I learned I can't always do it by myself I need a partner, I need someone to hold this

wrench while I tighten this bolt, it's very much teamwork more than independent.

When I first came into the program I didn't want to say anything but now like people have

grown and it's just nice to see them speak up and like have they're ideas be herd.

Don't have to be smart to do it because that just comes along with the program.

Ileana is a good example of students who have taken almost they're mission to promote women

in engineering.

It's not a man's field, it's a thinkers field.

Whether you're male or female, we're here as engineering student's and have the same

passion.

And I think that's a big thing for high school students to understand, there are no clicks,

some students might have been good at wood working, some students may have been good

at automotive, but we use all of those skills to create projects here.

At Hartford I feel like I'm always succeeding the teachers are always helping me through

to succeed, they are supportive they just want me to do what I wanted to do.

The purpose, the focus of the school is students, it's easy to get caught up in the things that

are going on but ultimately if you keep that focus in mind you're gonna do what you need

to do.

The small town communities that we have here there is a lot of traditional stereotypes

ingrained.

I would encourage students to break out of the box, be who they are, experience something

new and crush those stereotypes.
