Hello everyone, Welcome to ShishuWorld. I am Priya and today's video is a Qn A session.
In this video, we will answer some of your questions.
Many a times, many of you leave questions for us in comments or through Facebook messages.
And I try to answer as much as possible.
But it is not always possible to answer them because they require detailed answers.
And those responses are not big enough to warrant a full video.
So, weekly we will try and pick 5 or 6 such questions and we will answer them in a Q n A video.
The first question has been asked many times in different videos.
So, first question is " My baby is 11 months old, but still has no tooth. Is this normal? "
We had done a video on 'teething symptoms and solutions'.
I will leave the link in description box.
You will get a lot of answers to your questions in that video.
In short, I want to tell you that teething age is a big range starting from 4 months to 13-14 months.
Many babies sprout their first tooth at the age on 11-12 months.
My own daughter got her first tooth, when she was 11 and half months old.
So, there is no need to worry. This is perfectly normal.
If you are still worried, do consult your baby's paediatrician, who will be able to advise you further.
Some of the common symptoms of teething are drooling and that babies want to chew at everything.
Babies and show these symptoms for many months before teeth actually appear.
I hope this answered your query and alleviated some of your fears.
Now we come to second question.
This question has also been asked many times.
"How to use multi-grain cereal?"
We has made a video recipe of multi-grain cereal which is very popular.
But the video show the recipe of cereal, but no recipe of final porridge.
We assumed people will be able to make it like any other porridge.
All our new cereal recipe videos also contain how to make the cereal powder into porridge.
We recently shared a Ragi Cereal recipe, which has how to for porridge also.
I will share the links of both videos in description box.
Take 1-2 teaspoons of multigrain cereal in a pan.
Add 1 cup normal water to it and mix well.
Now cook while stirring so that no lumps are formed.
Cook for 3-4 minutes and it is ready.
You can add any fruit puree, date syrup, jaggery syrup etc. to this.
You can also add formula milk to it.
Third question is " My 8 month baby has constipation. What can I do?"
We have a detailed video on constipation remedies, which I will leave in description box.
In that we have discussed, why and hows of constipation as well as home remedies.
8 month baby is too young.
One of the reasons for constipation can be some newly introduced solid which does not suit him/her.
If so, you may discontinue the culprit for a few months.
Also, give some lukewarm water to baby in small quantities now that baby is also taking solid food.
You can also soak raisins over night,
Next morning, squeeze out all water.
You can give 1-2 teaspoons of this water to baby.
This is an effective home remedy.
Fourth question is " Can I give dry fruits to my 9 months old?"
Yes, you can give some nuts and dry fruits to baby.
You can give cashews, almonds and pistachios in very small quantities.
But all dry fruits must be in powdered/ paste form.
Fifth query is " My 4 years burps a lot. What can I do?"
This is a common problem.
Burping means the child has excess gas.
If you have figured out the offensive food, them omit it from his diet.
Things like cauliflower, chickpeas, lentils are common culprits.
Whenever you make lentils, soak them for 30-45 minutes after washing.
Then discard the water in which they were soaked.
And cook in fresh water
Also, add a little asafoetida and cumin seeds to lentils.
Sixth question is again a very common query.
"My 2 years old daughter does not want to eat anything. She only wants milk."
This is a very common problem with toddlers and even older kids.
Kids go through such phases where they dislike the very thing they loved last month.
But, if you feel she only wants milk and no solids,
then try and reduce the quantity of milk that she is having.
Sometimes they fill their tiny tummies with milk and have no longing for solid foods.
Try to limit milk to 300 ml in a day.
You can give this in 1 or 2 servings.
Also, try and mix up the food that you usually offer.
This will take time, so we need to be patient.
I have experienced this with my own daughter.
She is becoming more picky with age.
One thing that we must try is not to offer unhealthy options just because they will eat it.
That can only backfire and be a long-term problem.
Even if child eats a small bowl of food, make sure it is healthy and homemade.
So, I hope you got answers to some of your queries,
and you found this video useful.
Do let us know whether you found this format helpful.
My intention is to do a video like this once a week.
And we look forward to your feedback.
