Morning Conversations with Jim Self and Roxane Burnett-Virtual Reality - Duration: 11:39.

So, good morning. Good Morning. So we're back from Belize. It's not quite as... the beach

isn't quite there. So let's talk about technology and the human condition for a

little while because this is a topic that's really going to change how

everybody understands their life, their walking around space, how they go grocery

shopping, how they experience themselves. There's even an aspect of this that

we'll talk about maybe over the next couple weeks in terms of what humanity

is about to become, how its going to engage with itself. I listened to this report

on NPR a couple days ago. There was a scientist in Stanford whose specialty is

virtual reality and the reporter and he went to an arcade. A VR arcade and

they were playing games but he refused to play a game where he had to kill

someone with a gun even though it was a button or handheld thing he refused to

do that. And the reason why is because he's so convinced from his studies that

whether it's real or not real, the body reacts the same. And so by shooting the

gun in virtual reality the body's muscles begin to be trained and the mind

begins to be trained to make it okay to shoot this gun. Yeah the muscle memory

begins to be structured in such a way that effects then why there's no

thinking, there's no emotion, there's no rationale. It's in that case understand

right from the beginning of this that the defense industry, DARPA, and the

military this is how they are now training soldiers. Yeah. And so it's, it

becomes a very robotic type of person doing a task, And on the other hand he

was saying that it's very much used for good because it kind of

can reprogram a person's whole life if they're in PS, post-traumatic stress

syndrome. True. Or they have some kind of other issue up it's a it's a way to re--

reprogram on a-- in a positive sense. Sure. So that they get over that stuck

place. So but the key word here is programming. Yeah. And it's not you who's

doing the programming, it's an external experience that's doing it.

It's not the individual. The individual is not going out on the

tennis court to train muscle memory to play a game

that it wants to play. So let's let's define virtual reality in the context. So

even in that same news interview the reporter said she had never played

virtual reality at all. And so she puts the headset on and she is immediately in--

at a platform in a building that is above the clouds, looking down at the

clouds in real-time, in her brain's perception. Way down low. Then the message was step

out on the platform which was only, you know, 2 feet by 2 feet type of thing and

look down. And she couldn't do it. The reason she couldn't do it is she wasn't

saying to herself: oh this is, oh this is only a game but I can't do it. The brain

didn't know. You know we've been saying for years in classes that if you if you

go to the movies and you're sitting in the movies and all sudden the bad guy

jumps out from the bushes, or if you're walking outside the movie and the bad

guy jumps out from the bushes the brain doesn't know the difference. And so the

processing unit doesn't understand whether it's real or whether it's

Memorex as we used to say long time ago. So this virtual reality is just one form

of technology that's, that's very fascinating in itself but to your point

there's a lot of great opportunities in mental health and post-traumatic stress

syndrome in understanding what happens when you step into an experience. They

were using the example when you watch your hands stick out it's

a different color skin color. And all of a sudden the brain believes you

are black brown blue orange red green because you're seeing it. This is who I

am. And they put the person with a different

colored arm into situations where they get to experience racism, bigotry.

Right, right and internally the body understands racism

and so that's just an example. But the brain perceives its experience as a real

experience. Now I don't want it I don't want to sound like an old fart here but

there's a part of me that says whoa let's slow down on this. It's kind of

like years and years ago when I suppose when the television first came out and

the parents said, oh no this is a bad thing for the kids. It's, it's, which it

did change culture. Oh absolutely it changed culture. And so the

iPhone, virtual reality is changing culture but there's a part of me that

wants to just say slow down let's research the good side of the

stick and the bad side of the stick. Well let's let's take it from virtual reality

into additional technologies and, and in real terms your smartphone. And what's

happened, smartphone is 10 years old. It's brand-new. 10, 12 years old.

Brand-new and the level of addiction from the standpoint of looking at it,

having to have it, having to keep going back to it, the addictiveness of it.

There's an aspect where engineers used to build things in order to have them

work for you. Now engineers are trained to how to build programs to persuade you.

Right. And that's a huge difference because it's not the machine that is now

usable to the client, it is now the machine that tells the brain you need to

eat cereal because it's really good for you. And you go okay. Now advertising has

been a subliminal and not so subliminal thing

forever but basically it is programming, is mind conditioning.

Now this sophistication of the technology is such that it does that. But

when we start talking about addiction we could go in that track also here, the

addictiveness to kids, yeah, is enormous. They, they are on that cell

phone or that technology 11 to 13 hours a day according to the great

new studies. So what happens is you know where's the socialization? I mean how

many times have we started having this conversation years ago when we went to

dinner and we watched six kids sitting at a table texting one another, not talking.

And they-- it was like completely programmed out. It's unconscious it's not

only unconscious, the culture now promotes it and supports it. And so a kid

who doesn't have a cell phone is ostracized. Right right. So you're watching

a humanity being moved. Not chosen but being directed. So by and we're not

taking a corporation here by these large corporate structures that are invested

in a result for themselves. Greed. And so where this really goes is is there's a

there's going to be a backlash or a response because this level is very much

just like the opioid conditioning it creates a public health issue. And so

when you have the mind being programmed, the virtual realities or whether it's

the what's on the iPhone and what you keep going back to-- And advertising.

That's a programming, that's a conditioning of the mind and so the

whole nature of society is being conditioned in certain ways so you're

getting less and less engagement. There is a flip side you know, when you hear

the backlashes where a whole handful of the young kids are simply saying this

doesn't work I don't have any sense of who you are, I don't know how to talk to

you. So there's all kinds of pluses and minuses and push and shove

in this. But the place where I want to go with this and maybe we can do this over

the next couple of weeks, is there is a monumental shift taking place in terms

of the human condition. Due to technology, due to different constructs, due to greed

it's completely a different level than ever before.

Due to the subliminal and subtle ways of moving there is a human condition that's

being altered. And if I take this out to a point where we play in Mastering

Alchemy, we play from a spiritual side, this whole artificial intelligence,

robotics, the nature of technology is going to lead to a certain direction.

From an internal spiritual standpoint as you start to begin to approach the soul

where we're playing, this, the thinking that we call artificial intelligence, the

processing of information at these levels is how the soul thinks-- not as a

machine, as a means of perceiving a reality at that level of computation and

perception is how the soul thinks. So, so you're saying that the soul thinks

like the technology does now, from a from a bigger umbrella? Oh, much,

much bigger than the technology. The technology right now is really in a very

infancy stage so the purpose of the kind of this conversation is: pay attention to

this. How do you choose? How do you choose? But see here in a way how do you choose

is being chosen for you on a on-the- ground, human, walking around economy. See

that's why it's so important for people to be able to discern and not and not

just click on the button because it's there, because it's a bright-red or that

looks an attractive. It's and it's hard to pull away from that programming.

Oh exactly, and especially when it tastes good, it feels good, it's kind of

okay so who cares, all of a sudden, just like so many other things you wind

up way over here. We'll use an addiction, it was well it was only this,

it really didn't make that big of a deal. And well can you back out of it? And

that's part of it. So let's do this. Let's kind of use this conversation as a setup

and let's have this again next week. Good. We'll see you next week.

Self Love Journaling Prompts | Valentine's Day 💗 - Duration: 5:45.

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to Lavendaire, and happy Valentine's Day.

Sending you lots of love.

Today I want to share some self love journaling prompts that you can do today

to just cultivate more self love for yourself, so I'll just get right into it.

The first is an easy one that's actually in my Artist of Life Workbook,

is to list ten things that you love about yourself.

So this one's pretty simple.

I know it can be hard for some people who have never really thought of themselves like that.

So if it's hard for you to find things that you love about yourself,

why don't you start off with things that you like?

Like what personality traits that you like about yourself.

Or you could ask some friends what they think your best qualities are,

and then start from there.

The next journaling prompt is to take some time to sit down and write a love letter to yourself.

Now, I know I've shared that one before because I love it so much.

But the fun hook is: You can do it on this website called FutureMe,

where you send that love letter to yourself for next year's Valentine's Day, you know what I mean?

So as you're writing this love letter and celebrating everything that you are,

you're going to feel amazing as you're writing it.

You're gonna feel the love start cultivating for yourself.

But at the same time, the fun part is that because you're sending it back to yourself

a year later for next year's Valentine's Day,

then you're gonna get a little surprise in a year.

And maybe you can do this every year so that you send yourself a love letter every year for Valentine's Day

because duh, self love is super important and you can never have too much of it.

Alright, the next journaling prompt is something that I learned from my friend, Kajal Pandey,

this past Sunday actually.

We did a live chat together on Facebook.

If you want to watch that full live chat, it's really amazing.

I'll link it down below so that you can watch the chat.

Also, follow my Facebook page because I'm gonna do more live chats and just post more videos on Facebook.

Anyway, this prompt is to list all the things that you don't exactly like about yourself.

List all those traits that you find yourself either worrying about or complaining about.

Anything that just doesn't sit well with yourself,

list those traits and then add "…but I love myself anyway" at the end.

So for example: "I feel lazy and unmotivated today, but I love myself anyway,"

or "I don't always feel pretty or confident when I'm in a social setting, but I love myself anyway,"

or "I think that I talk too much, but I love myself anyway."

Do you see what we're doing here?

So you're taking a trait that is kind of seen as negative in your head,

those traits that you're usually like,

"Ugh, why am I like this?" or "I don't like this part about me."

Basically the traits where you're being judgmental on yourself or hard on yourself,

because that's what we do all the time.

And then just listing it out, being honest about it,

and then end it with, "…but I love myself anyway."

So this is a great way to learn to love all that you are,

the good parts and the bad parts, or the strengths and the weaknesses, because love is unconditional.

Love encompasses all.

I know we started out with the things that you do love about yourself,

and this is another way to kind of be honest about the things that you don't necessarily

like about yourself,

and yet you love yourself anyway.

Because nobody is perfect.

If you think about the people that you love in your life, they're not perfect.

They have flaws.

They have times that they make mistakes.

And yet, you love them anyway.

So learn to treat yourself in that way.

Yes, I might not like this characteristic about myself.

Or I might feel this way that doesn't support me, but I love myself anyway.

So it's just learning to be unconditional with your love.

It's so great, right?

Like I said, if you want to watch that full video with Kajal,

I'll link that video down below so you could catch up.

Next, I'm going to share some journaling prompts that you can actually ask yourself

every day in the morning, just to get yourself off on the right foot,

because every day you want to be listening to yourself and doing what serves you best.

So at the beginning of every day, you can always ask yourself questions like

"What am I excited to do today?"

"How can I give myself that extra care today?"

Because I'm all about self care, guys.

And lastly, "What can I do to protect my energy?"

And I love that last question.

I actually have that question in my workbook too

because it's being aware of how you can protect your energy in a way that

you're not allowing toxic people in your life.

Or you're not just saying yes to people

just because you're a people-pleaser, you know?

A lot of times, for me personally, it's hard to say no.

But in order to protect my energy and my well-being, I have to learn to say no more often

so that I don't find myself in those awkward situations

where I'm doing something that I don't want to be doing,

but I said yes so I have to do it.

And it just doesn't feel good.

You don't want to put yourself in those situations.

But yeah, I think that's a pretty good start on journaling prompts

that you can do today to cultivate more self love in your life.

Also, as you're checking out that live chat video on my Facebook,

just go ahead and like my Facebook page while you're at it,

because I'm going to be doing more live chats here and there,

and I'm just trying to post more videos on Facebook and be more active there.

Alright, I hope you have a beautiful Valentine's Day.

I will see you guys in the next one.

Bye!

The 6 Best Self Help Books - Improvement Pill's MUST READ BOOKS - Duration: 7:28.

If you've been a prescriber of the channel for a long enough time you'll

know that I preach about reading quite often have tons of videos that discussed

a variety of benefits that reading can bring into your life but I haven't ever

really shared with you the books that I think you should read so in today's

episode I'm gonna share with you guys what I consider to be the six most

important books that you really really should consider reading but before we

get started I like to thank audible for sponsoring this episode for those of you

that don't know what audible is it's a platform where you can listen to audio

versions of books I personally love audible and have been using them for

years because it allows me to get the benefit of reading while I'm doing my

chores or while I'm commuting to places audible has by far the largest selection

of books out there and they also have shows news and even comedy go to

audible.com for slash improvement pill or text the word improvement pill to 500

slash 500 to get an exclusive 30-day free trial and a book of your choice for

absolutely free I suggest you pick one of the six books that I'm going to talk

about today because they are all available on audible the first book on

my list is actually the first self-improvement book I ever read how to

win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie it must have been seventeen or

eighteen when I first picked up this book now I'm sure many of you have

already heard of this book it's probably the most recommended self-improvement

book out there and there's a reason for this see what this book does is it

teaches you simple little rules to keep in mind for social interactions I don't

want to spoil the book for you but there are certain things that you can do that

will drastically increase your ability to befriend people the book essentially

teaches you how to become more likeable and that's one of the most powerful

skills out there because if you can get people to like you then things will

start to go your way you'll find that you have an easier time making friends

getting jobs making sales and one of the great side effects of all of this is

that you will be much happier and here's something to think about when you learn

how to make friends you're essentially learning how to make others happy and

this is one of the most fulfilling feelings out there the ability to spread

joy and that's what how to win friends and influence people teaches you the

next book on my list is also related to social interactions what is everybody

saying by Joe Navarro Navarro was an X F agent whose specialty was reading people

he passes on his knowledge in this book in an extremely easy to read format in

fact I was able to finish this book in just two days now this book is very

important because body language plays a crucial role in social interactions this

is a must read for anyone that feels like they aren't performing that well

socially there's so many of us that feel awkward or don't know what to do during

social gatherings and I believe a big reason for this is because of our

exposure to the Internet many of us have grown up in an environment where we

socialize with people more online than in real life we're in a society where we

use social media platforms like Facebook or snapchat more than we spend time

speaking with people in person and this has caused many of us to lose our

ability to read body language well reading body language is an extremely

important skill because you can tell what a person is feeling by looking at

their body language during a conversation you're never always gonna

say the right things you're bound to have jokes or comments that others don't

find that entertaining especially if it's your first time meeting them now if

your ability to read body language isn't sharp you'll often find yourself saying

the wrong things without even knowing and this can easily make you come off as

more annoying or repulsive and you will find yourself having a much harder time

making friends or establishing romantic relationships because you can't tell

what you're doing wrong being able to read body language is like being able to

see what answers on a test you got wrong if you don't have the ability to see the

right answers then you'll never know what to adjust the next book on my list

is models by Mark Manson now this book is an interesting book to be honest it

kind of comes off as a sleazy pick-up book but the core lesson it teaches you

is actually incredibly valuable you know that piece of advice that people throw

around oh just be yourself well this book actually teaches you why and how to

do just that because there's so many of us that feel like we need to do certain

things or say certain things to impress people we need to like certain sports we

need a where certain clothes etc models teaches you how by just sticking to what

you love saying what's on your mind and quote-unquote just being yourself

will actually get more people to like you it also happens that this concept

will drastically improve your romantic relationships by a lot now I know it

sounds kind of vague but trust me there's a reason why I've read

book three times over because that core lesson is just that important now the

fourth book on this list is Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki it's the

only book on wealth that I have on this list and there's a reason for that Rich

Dad Poor Dad teaches you a very simple mindset that will quite literally change

your life it's a mindset that makes a lot of sense but no one ever talks about

it it's not taught in school it's not talked about in the media my friends my

parents none of them knew about it I know I'm beating around the bush by not

telling you what this mindset is but I don't want to spoil the book for you

it's honestly a super easy read it's a short book and I was able to finish it

in just one day and I actually do a tribute a lot of my success to this book

this simple mindset that I keep talking about is definitely something that I

still think about quite often it's the reason I've made certain choices in my

life and it's without a doubt one of the main reasons I'm doing what I do right

now if you want to be rich one day you have to read this book the fifth book on

my list is the power of habit by Charles Duhigg this was actually one of the

books that I used to build the same course this book is a must read because

it teaches you about how habits work see our destiny what we accomplish in life

is ultimately determined by what sort of habits we have if we have a bunch of bad

habits then chances are we're not going anywhere anytime soon Joe Haeg breaks

down exactly how habits work and what you can do to change them if you've

watched the team course and you're working on changing the habits in your

life and this is definitely one of the books you have to read the more you

understand why and how your addiction works the inner workings of all habits

then the more things you can do to make sure you overcome it a very very

important book for anyone that wants to change their life the sixth and final

book on this list is a very special book it's a book that I've read four times

over it's a book that I've gifted to over 20 people it's a book that quite

literally changed my life it's the power of now by Eckhart Tolle and I'll be

honest the premise of this book is pretty weird

Eckhart was a man in his late twenties became fed up with life and claims to

have spent a month just sitting on a park bench in a state of bliss he talks

about the root of all suffering why so many of us feel miserable about our

lives why we like to argue with our loved ones why we can't find happiness

the book is written in a rather art form at every

couple of pages there's a prompt for you to set the book down and think about

what you just read I had many many breakthroughs the first time I ever read

this book it drastically changed the way I viewed the world and I can proudly say

that has made me into a happier person and that's the reason I love gifting

this book out so much because I want to spread that joy and these are what I

consider to be the six best self-improvement books out there I

highly suggest you check them out because each and every single one of

these books has drastically changed my life for the better if you want to

purchase any of these books refer to my reading list which I will link to in the

description box below if you'd like to listen to any of these books remember

they can receive an audio book for absolutely free via audible which I also

link to in the description box below thank you for watching and stay tuned

Plea for ASSISTED LIFE with Self-Directed Funding - Duration: 12:16.

Greetings, My name is Roger Foley.

I am a graduate of Carleton University with degrees in Economics and History.

I am a former National E-Business Manager with the Royal Bank of Canada and founder

of the Canadian Ataxia Conference.

In 2013, I earned a top volunteer award in Canada with the Prime Minister's Volunteer

Awards.

Unfortunately, my life story is narrated through the horrible prism of a progressive neurodegenerative

disease called Cerebellar Ataxia.

I also have to deal with additional physical health challenges.

I have gone from being an active person to on some days not even being able to get out

of bed because of the neuropathy, chronic fatigue, and inability to coordinate my limbs.

Despite these physical challenges and deterioration, I have managed to keep a positive attitude.

I have put a lot of research into my Activities of Daily Living and daily routines including

nutrition and exercise routines.

I have made and maintained physical gains where possible while also battling the deterioration

of my diseases.

My condition is grievous and irremediable, but the solution is Assisted Life with Self-Directed

Funding.

Unfortunately, the Ontario Health Care system and the Ontario Home Care system has broken

my spirit and sent my life into a void of bureaucracy, accompanied by a lack of accountability

and oversight.

Over 2 years ago I was admitted to Victoria Hospital as a direct result of very poor quality

and deteriorating home care by my past service provider, a South West LHIN contracted agency.

The very poor delivery and lack of oversight of my care within the LHIN has completely

eroded my confidence in any contracted agencies.

I need Self-Directed Funding in order to return home.

I need to be able to self-manage my own Home Care to ensure continuity, consistency, safety,

and expertise.

I need to be able to hire my own workers to build my circle of care that works with me

so that we can work together as a team, to meet my needs and meet my goals.

I have no desire to take up a valuable hospital bed but at this point it is my only option.

Please let me explain to you why.

Growing up, I did not really know I had any diseases or disorders, but looking back, the

signs were there.

I had trouble with balance and coordination.

I was constantly fatigued and in pain.

Throughout my teen years, I pushed through my studies and athletics.

The pain levels were inconsistent: some days, the pain levels would be high where other

days it would be tolerable.

I grew up with my dad who was a wonderful man.

He had fought in the front lines of World War 2.

Shortly after I was born his health began to fail.

He went legally blind.

He had heart troubles, cancer of the bladder, and his kidneys failed.

When I was 11, my father was passing away and I became his caregiver.

The doctors only gave him 2 years with the cancer and health challenges he had, but he

fought on and lived another 12 years.

He taught me strength and perseverance, which I have relied on through my own struggles.

After his passing, my own health began to deteriorate further.

Family, friend, coaches, and teachers told me to get medical help.

My balance and coordination got worse, and my fatigue levels were beginning to intensify.

Despite this, I graduated from Carleton University.

And I worked very hard and paid my dues in the economy.

I moved around a lot and lived in many cities, and saw many Neurologists.

I thought I had decades but the deterioration was just catching up on me too fast, and unfortunately

it came to the point where I physically could not work anymore.

I was placed on Long-Term Disability to face these challenges head-on.

I went from being in control of my life to being at the mercy of the health care and

home care systems.

The reality of my situation is I need full-time support to live as independently as possible

in my own home.

I am approved for this full-time support in the contracted agency system.

Within the South West LHIN, the way it works is one agency has the monopoly contract over

all my hours of care.

The other agency that is a possibility follows the same model of service with less hours

available.

All LHIN regions work this way and it is absolutely ruthless.

People with disabilities and health challenges have no freedom to choose the provider of

their choice.

These providers in turn rule in a sometimes cruel manner with very little to no accountability

nor oversight.

At times, I've received some great care and efforts by some wonderful PSWs, and I truly

thank them so very much.

Unfortunately, when I received sub-standard care the recourse options were ineffective. For

instance, I've been given the wrong medications, I've been provided spoiled food where I got

food poisoning, I've had workers fall asleep in my living room, burners and appliances

constantly left on, a fire, and I've been injured during exercises and transfers.

When I would report these things to the agency, I would not get a response.

When I would escalate these matters to the LHIN, no action was taken.

Unfortunately, people who seem to be getting help like I was are not being helped near

enough.

Workers I do not trust and did not know how to meet my needs were constantly scheduled

to come into my home against my objections.

My objections were met with threats from the agency to not send anyone at all.

What was I to do?

The result of the very poor quality of care I received in my own home led my thoughts

towards suicide.

It's a difficult admission for me to make, but I know with increased awareness of mental

health that I am not alone.

I cannot begin to describe to you the helplessness of feeling trapped within my own home.

Realistically, ending my life was the only option I had.

I had set a date and had a plan.

Thankfully, people watching and looking at my situation in detail.

They helped to prevent my suicide and I was admitted to Victoria Hospital until full-time,

safe, appropriate care that meets my needs and preferences was arranged.

Unfortunately, the SW LHIN with its contracted agencies will not allow this to happen.

While in the hospital, I took my care planning into my own hands.

I researched Self-directed Funding and found many viable programs in Ontario.

I brought these to the attention of the South West LHIN.

I also had to apply through other LHINs for Self-Directed Funding.

Now, the application processes for these programs is very mismanaged and very unfair.

I did not get what I needed nor was I provided with a sufficient explanation.

I appealed and that appeal was supposed to take two months, it has been nine months and

I still have not heard back.

I am very organized and I can manage my own care, and I have proven that.

Unfortunately, the system and its bureaucracy is ridiculously complex, and such a difficult

maze to navigate.

There is no straightforward Self-Directed Funding access for Ontarians nor is there

in the rest of Canada.

This is contradictory to what is happening in the rest of the world.

For instance, Canada ranks at the bottom of the Commonwealth Fund index, and other health

international scales.

Now, the top Health Care Systems in the world such as the UK, Netherlands, Nordic Countries,

Germany, Switzerland, New Zealand, Australia all work on Self-directed funding models for

home care.

Internationally, Self-Directed Funding goes by many different terms such as Individualized

Funding, Personal Health Budgets, Care Allowances, Citizen-directed Support, Consumer-directed

Services, and so forth.

Whatever the term, the definition means the same thing for the individuals who need it.

Freedom, Autonomy, and control over their care.A chance for a quality of life, the right

care in the right place at the right time that meets their needs.

No one should have to live in oppression; no one should have to live under the undue

influence of an agency that rules in a cruel manner.

Reaffirming this, The United Nations passed the Convention on the Rights of Persons with

Disabilities that respects Individual Autonomy, the right to choose, and for those with disabilities

to have full citizenship and full rights within their country; To receive the care that they

need with dignity and choice, ensuring substantive equality and health equity for all.

I am a proud Canadian and want to live here, but I would move anywhere in the world to

get the care that others currently receive.

We currently live in a healthcare system that is bureaucracy and system-centered.

We have to shift the system towards a person-centered and people-centered approach to truly achieve

positive health outcomes, accountability, and value-for-money.

In Ontario and Canada, our rights are guaranteed under the Home Care Bill of Rights, The Human

Rights Code, Patient Rights, Rights under the Charter, and other statutes.

Unfortunately, when organizations violate the rights of vulnerable people there is very

little to no justice nor resolution.

I am hoping very much I can survive this battle and not become a casualty of the system.

I pray that one day I'll be able return home with the Self-directed funding that meets

my needs.

Free at home is where I need be so I can be a part of the community again, contribute

to philanthropy and our country, to have a quality of life, and a quality of care.

I have a message for those of you who are, and that know someone that is, going through

a similar struggle.

That message is never give up battling for your freedom and rights.

Always know that you can make a difference for yourself and others.

Do not take no for an answer.

Lastly, always believe the system can change.

I thank you very much.

With lots of love.

Roger Foley.

Use an Agent vs Self - Duration: 1:03.

Hey everyone Sean Ryan here

A common question we get all the time is

should I sell my house myself or use an agent?

When people are considering this the

biggest thing on their mind all the time is

how much commission I'll save.

But really your focus should be on how much money

might I lose or leave on the table.

Good agents could have an in-depth marketing plan, they are going to know the

community and they are going to know the market like the back of their hand.

And because we usually have a lineup of buyers just waiting to get into a property like yours.

Also we find buyers are leery of properties that are for sale by owner

because there's no rules or regulations and there's nothing to fall back on if

something goes wrong because we're all insured.

Also, historically real estate agents normally

always get much more money for the seller in the end

than people that sell on their own.

There's also a lot of safety concerns that a seller doesn't think about

when letting random strangers into their house.

Cheers everyone

Serkong Rinpoche – The Importance of Self-Compassion - Duration: 2:35.

Compassion is not only for others.

The Importance of Self-Compassion

Compassion includes yourself, too.

To help others, you should have something to give someone.

If you know mathematics, for example.

So you are a teacher, you know mathematics,

and you try to help other people and try to solve their problems with compassion,

you are helping and you're contributing something to humanity.

Compassion sometimes just sounds like "Think about others,"

and that sounds like, "Don't think about yourself."

I think that's a really wrong idea,

because if you say that compassion is important,

then a person who has compassion, you are automatically saying is also important.

Because you are the one who is carrying the compassion,

that's why you should feel more responsibility,

that's why you should feel, "Well, I have the ability to help others,

so I should try to practice as much as I can, in order to help others."

It's very beautiful when you can make someone smile, and then because of that smile,

you smile, because you feel very happy.

It's like when a child is very sad,

then the mother won't be happy at all.

If the child smiles or is very happy,

then ultimately the mother will be so happy that she'll even forget her own small problems.

So it's the same thing.

Compassion is the key to help others,

and from this you yourself will automatically smile.

So, compassion is beautiful.
