Yamaha is continuing to take up the challenges of sharing passion and performance with people around the world.

(Ms. Enya) This is our goal for today.

(Ms. Enya) Complete a melody for your class song using VOCALOID for Education.

Ms. Enya is teaching an elementary school class.

(Ms. Enya) In this class, we are teaching children how to compose music using VOCALOID voice synthesis software.

(Ms. Enya) Yamaha provides support for the classroom with digital learning materials and tools.

The software used in this class is Yamaha's VOCALOID for Education.

This software brings out children's creativities and enables them to compose songs intuitively.

This software is expected to provide a solution to some of difficulties the music education is facing.

Teaching composition to children who are not familiar with musical instruments and reading music scores presents a high hurdle to clear.

One day, a teacher noticed a newspaper article that a child has brought to the classroom.

(Teacher) The article was about composing a class song using VOCALOID.

(Teacher) It provided an opportunity because it gave the children the idea that they might like to try VOCALOID for composing.

(Student) I knew about VOCALOID and wanted to try to use it.

The issue of instructing children in composition and the children's desire to compose their own song.

Ms. Enya was asked for her assistance, and she went to the school to work toward finding a way to solve these issues.

(Ms. Enya) All right, please pick some words from this list.

(Student) Bonds.

(Student) There's 'helping each other'. There are so many words for helping one another.

(Ms. Enya) I think it was really great that we could share time with children to give shape to their thoughts.

About three months later,

a variety of melodies were created by the children themselves.

(Student) Adjusting the rhythm is difficult.

(Student) Need to compose a melody people can sing.

(Teacher) Chldren could learn various elements of music by themselves through the process they worked on.

(Teacher) This activity is like kiling two birds with one stone, or even three birds.

The melodies created by the children are joined together to make one song.

All the many ideas and thoughts of the children became one song.

(Ms. Enya) Now, let's play the song!

[Completed song] ♪ A story that all of us weave together―Take wing and fly♪

[Applause] That's excellent!

(Teacher) We could sense that children were enjoying works even if some were not good at music.

(Teacher) I think it's important for children to enjoy studying, so I am glad we used the VOCALOID software.

The children made plans to express their thanks to the teachers

and decided to surprise them on the final day of the fifth grade.

That day, they called the two teachers into the school music room.

[The children sing the song for the teachers. A prelude]

[Chorus] ♪ A story that all of us weave together.

[Chorus] Every day we spend time together.

[Chorus] Helping one another, trusting each other, and building strong ties of friendship.

[Chorus] Let's not look down and keep smiling.

[Chorus] If we tackle challenges together we can overcome difficulties.

[Chorus] A bright future waits for us.

[Chorus] Let us open the doors to our dreams.

[Chorus] We do not know what the future will bring,

[Chorus] but let's turn our smiles into hopes and take wing to fly into the future.

(Teacher) That's a breach of the rules.

(Teacher) We were really able to have many memories that only these children could have had; they are magnificent.

(Teacher) It is really wonderful that all of their past year's experiences have been concentrated in this song.

(Student) I was astonished that everyone was shedding tears as if they were at the graduation.

(Student) I thought that our song could express our feelings of gratitude.

(Ms. Enya) The final day of the fifth grade was very special for everyone.

(Ms. Enya) When I felt that we were able to share passion and performance together,

(Ms. Enya) I was sure that I wanted to continue this kind of work.

(Ms. Enya) What we are aiming for, I think, is that we want to spread these activities to include as many people as possible.

(All) Thank you!

What have I been up to so I was the Society of wedding and portrait

photographers show I was doing a couple of gigs for hospital and we had some

really big crowds and a lot of fun

we got a new member of staff, a girl called Ashleigh - there she is over there

What have I been up to... well it's been a busy in the studio BIG shoots for

Specsavers optical group as much as group.... As much as Karl would love to tell you exactly what

we've been up to... this is my VLOG now so it means I get to show you around the

scenes here at Karl Taylor Education. I'll let you experience firsthand what my

first week here was like. So, the first few days started with a Specsavers shoot

and it also allowed me to learn a little bit more about lighting, which and a place

like this will probably come in handy :-)

So Karl, what are we doing over here? Well Ash, we are shooting some specs products

you can see the size of the set just for tiny pair of glasses and we're nearly

through this batch. We shot about 30 pairs so far and then we've got to change the

set for a different set for another batch!

I like that... nice angle

We now have 36 more pairs to shoot in

this very difficult setup as you can see here we've got a never-ending supply of

c-stands and grips here a whole forest of them!

To hold - 4 of them so this one we just tested and that's what the result looks

like here.. so don't know that camera pick it up? But yes there you go so that's

where we're at. Still a long way to go.

Quality work... this took hours of positioning, repositioning, repositioning

and then shooting and your thumbs in that one! Yeah let's not point that out on

camera!! Then towards the end of the week I got to experience my first LIVE show...

...and that was a member picture critique.

We ended the week with a Friday painting day. Emma and I got stuck in and painted

a mobile wall we have, as well as some blocks, but that video should do all

the talking itself. Earlier today these were the bright red so Emma and I have

been, on and off, painting these today, and I'll take you over and show you what

delightful outfits we're wearing... There's Emma getting ready for the last set of

paint and here's everything that I'll be wearing too including some beautiful shoe

covers. So, here we go! So what's happening here? BEN! Tell me what is that I see there?

Hold, on look at this! DA... Da... dAAAA... and a Space Gray iMac Pro!

With black keyboard. Are you happy? Yeah Tell me why you're happy? 96

terabytes I hear you say a iMac Pro, Oh my goodness do you know how many cores are

inside that Mac? No! Do you know how fast that Mac Pro is? FAST? It's very very

fast and who got your crappy old machine? ME!!! - and there it is! So that's what I got up

Join Juntos for a Better Education - Duration: 1:57.

The Juntos program has changed my perspective of my future through the

courses that we have taken at Iowa State and the Mais program and with them

helping us here in Muscatine it's really life-changing. For me I thought like I

would have to work to like at least get to community college and then see where

I could get even more help to like continue. Now I know that there's like

way more ways to get scholarships to help you. I did not know I could go to

community college and still get a job.

The change I've seen in my son in regards to the Juntos program ... He used to be very shy.

Now he likes to participate a little bit more; ask for support and help more. Now, he asks questions ...

and communicates with us more!

So, some of the changes that I've seen in my sister since she's been in the Juntos program ...

She has been a lot more interactive with the family. She'll how tell us a lot about how

her day has been after school.

He is more interested in his future ...

in thinking about what he will do when he grows up ...

in what careers he will pursue.

Educational.

Fun, educational because you get to learn a lot of things and we go on trips, it's fun!
