A wooden North Korean boat has been found near a deserted island in northern Japan.

Japan's Coastguard says the fishing boat with ten North Koreans onboard was discovered at

9:30 am on Wednesday on an island in Hokkaido Prefecture.

The North Koreans are said to have taken shelter on the island due to bad weather.

They said they had enough fuel, but asked for food.

The Japanese Coastguard plans to escort the boat to a safe area and conduct an investigation.

Several North Korean boats have washed up on Japan's coastline this month, some with

dead bodies onboard.

On Monday eight skeletons were found on a North Korean boat discovered near Akita prefecture.

Hey guys! It's Misaki!

Do you know what the day on 11th of November in Japan is?

Here in Japan, we called it Pocky day.

This is a Japanese chocolate snack called Pocky.

Let me explain why November 11th is called the "Pocky day".

As you can see in this package, Pocky is a stick-shaped chocolate snack. When you line four Pocky up, they look like 1111(November 11th).

So November 11th is called "Pocky day"

Actually we don't really celebrate anything in particular on this day, we just eat Pocky on the Pocky day.

When I was a university student, my professor bought many packs of Pocky and he gave them to us. I sometimes exchange the Pocky with my friends.

Pocky has a variety of flavors like this strawberry one.

It has different kinds of thickness, like the thicker ones and the thinner ones, and it sometimes has seasonal flavors too.

Today I'm going to have this one!

I think it was about 100 yen.

This package is very cute and as this says, this stick is heart-shaped.

I think this is also about 100 yen.

If you get it in convenience store, it's about 130 yen.

This chocolate not only has a nice strawberry flavor but you can also taste the strawberry's seeds.

Actually I don't like seasonal flavors that much but this strawberry one is really good!

I haven't had this one for a long time so it feels good having it again.

The Japanese snack company "Guriko" sells Pocky and I think about 10 years ago, it also established the Pocky day because it wanted us to buy and eat more Pocky.

So it is not exactly a Japanese culture but it's like a trend recently.

So far I've introduced the Japanese chocolate snack "Pocky". Actually, one of my friends went to America a month ago and he bought this Nutella to me. So I'm gonna try it out now!

Actually you can find this one in convenience stores in Japan. When I studied abroad in Canada, I've seen it so many times, but I've never tried it.

I want to try this snack on Pocky day because it is also stick-shaped.

It has a nutty taste.

Before I took this video, I've just talked with an American friend and he told me that the name "Nutella" comes from "Nuts".

BREAKING: Japan Just DEPLOYED Japan on Tuesday moved a mobile missile-defense

system on the northern island of Hokkaido to a base near recent North Korean missile

flyover routes.

Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera said a Patriot Advanced Capability-3 interceptor unit was

deployed at the Hakodate base on southern Hokkaido �as a precaution� as part of

government preparations for a possible emergency, The Japan Times reported.The relocation came

after a North Korean missile was test-fired last week and flew over southern Hokkaido

and landed in the Pacific off the island�s east coast � the second flyover in less

than a month.

The PAC-3 was brought from another base in Yakumo town on Hokkaido, about 80 kilometers

(50 miles) northeast of Hakodate.

The system has a range of about 20 kilometers (12 miles).Four more of Japan�s 34 PAC-3

units, largely used to defend the capital region, were relocated to southwestern Japan

recently after North Korea warned of sending missiles toward the U.S. territory of Guam.Japan

currently has a two-step missile defense system.

First, Standard Missile-3 interceptors on Aegis destroyers in the Sea of Japan would

attempt to shoot down missiles mid-flight.

If that fails, surface-to-air PAC-3s would try to intercept them.

Japan�s Constitution, which limits the use of force to self-defense, only allows the

military to shoot down missiles that are heading to Japan, or debris falling onto Japanese

territory.

Onodera has said a new security law passed in 2015 might allow it to shoot down a Guam-bound

missile if it poses a critical security threat to Japan and its top ally, the United States.

North Korea �may launch ballistic missiles that would fly over our nation again in the

future,� Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera told reporters Tuesday.

�To prepare for an emergency, we would like to make every effort possible to protect the

people�s safety.�

Japan is monitoring North Korea�s movements for another possible missile launch.

The most mature hit-to-kill weapon system of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS),

the Patriot Weapon System using Patriot Advanced Capability (PAC)-3 missiles, is now operational

and fielded by the U.S. Army.

Provides simultaneous air and missile defense capabilities as the Lower Tier element in

defense of U.S. deployed forces and allies.

Works with THAAD to provide an integrated, overlapping defense against missile threats

in the terminal phase of flight.

Jointly, these systems engage the threat by forming a multi-tier theater defense against

adversary missile threats using peer-to-peer engagement coordination, early warning track

data, and battle management situational awareness.

Contributes to the entire system�s situational awareness by transmitting precision cueing

data to other theater elements while simultaneously protecting system assets against short-range

ballistic missiles, large-caliber rockets, and air-breathing threats.

For homeland defense, Patriot provides detection, track, and engagement of short-range ballistic

missiles and cruise missiles.

These engagements are further enhanced by networked remote sensors that supply early

warning data to increase the probability of success.

Patriot has added Upper-Tier Debris Mitigation capability to mitigate the excessive radar

load and potential missile waste caused by debris from upper-tier intercepts.

As diplomacy runs dry, the South Pacific is building itself up to be the next major conflict

and North Korea is simply na�ve enough to kick the fires until they receive the wraith

of the United States Military.

Japan on high alert as 'suspicious' North Korea boat sails towards coast

AN INFLUX of "suspicious" boats from North Korea have forced Japanese authorities to

step up security of its coastlines.

Japan's coast guard is preparing to investigate a mystery boat carrying 10 men claiming to

be from North Korea off the coast of Hokkaido.

The dilapidated wooden boat is being towed to shore for close inspection, coast guard

officials said today.

The incident comes amid heightened tensions after North Korea's supreme leader Kim Jong-un

fired an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

Meanwhile, several boats thought to be from North Korea, some carrying dead bodies, have

sparked alarm along Japan's coastlines.

On Monday a wooden ship carrying eight dead crew members believed to be from North Korea

has washed ashore on the coast of Akita prefecture.

"The coast guard and police have to cooperate to step up sea patrols around Japan," the

chief government spokesman, Yoshihide Suga, said on Tuesday.

"The government intends to improve this to ensure we can guard against suspicious boats

or people arriving in Japan," Suga said.

North Korean fishing boats, unmanned or otherwise, regularly wash up along the coasts of northern

Japan.

Crippling poverty and harsh conditions under Kim Jong-un's totalitarian regime has led

to defections by boat in the past, though they are not common.

Last week Japanese police arrested eight men whose boat washed ashore in Yurihonjo, north

east of Japan – around 50 miles away from the latest discovery.

Last month a North Korean soldier who fled the communist nation across the demilitarised

zone (DMZ) was left fighting for his life.

Dramatic footage showed the troop scrambling across the border while dodging a hail of

bullets from his former comrades.

The defector, who has not been named, is in a stable condition after being rescued by

South Korean soldiers and taken to safety.
