Thanking you in advance

Yes

My pleasure

Did you call that firefighters?

If something...

It`s OK Tina!

I called them...wahaha

Mom I will say the best YES to everyone...

Thank you my friends!

Do we need 2 litre?

Today is the day for SLOVAKIAN FOOD!

We don`t have a slovakian restaurant here

that`s why I`m so curious what kind of food is it?

I think, everyone doesn`t have any image of slovakian food, right?

I can say, it`s very good taste.

Today, I`m introducing you

Tina from Slovakia!

Thank you

First: KURACI PAPRIKAS

It`s a chicken in paprika sauce.

I will cook it...

NEXT FOOD: HALUSKY

It`s slovakian traditional pasta

very traditional food of Slovakia

Every slovakian make this special pasta.

SALAD: UHORKOVY SALAT

It will be definitely NEW TASTE to you...

NEXT: PALACINKY

It`s like American pan cake, but very thin...

Yap, in Slovakia, when you don`t know how to cook, you can`t become somebody`s wife!

Here in Japan, it`s opposite. After wedding, we are learning how to cook.

Eating rabbits? No way in Japan!!!

I think, the main countries eating rabbits are Slovakia and Rusia...

AND in japanese KANSAI (they eat rabbits)

Put the paprika and mix it with the meat...

Hmmm....It`s interesting how this taste!

She doesn`t use KONSOME(boujon)

Let`s have a small fire and wait 20 minutes

While we`re waiting

let`s make palacinky.

But first HALUSKY (slovakian traditional pasta)

yap, saying the word in japanese is so difficult...Japan doesn`t have "L"

It`s little bit hard to say "L"

We`ve got very special cheese in Slovakia. "BRYNDZA"

You can`t buy it in Japan.

We, girls in Japan, we are so sad, because we want to make that food but no real "bryndza" cheese here...

Yap, I can make Halusky pasta, but not that cheese...

bryndza is similar to cottage cheese.

And I have to tell you, that we love to drink alcohol in Slovakia.

Everyone...

We`re so strong when it comes to drinking alcohol.

When somebody is going to visit somebody,

you have to bring bottle of wine.

Do you want to try how hard it is?

This is the best

It has to be like this, because if it`s thickier, it`s not good.

I`ve got a good story for you...

When I was younger

I went to drink to the bar

and my friend drunk a little bit there also.

On the way home, the police cought him.

Don`t tell to anybody...but...

That friend

gave the shampagne to the police

and they allowed him to go home...

He wasn`t put in jail for driving and drinking...

Tell me how much you need, when to stop, OK?

OK

Thank you

OK, it`s there. Do you see everyone???

You have to push it down

and it will fall down to the hot water

and after when the pasta will come up

the pasta is ready to pick it out...

I`m seeing this for the first time!

It`s different from russian pasta.

russian pasta NYOKI is more bigger

I want this tool in my home, my kid will be happy to make it!

So true, right?

Then let`s put some oil on that pasta (for not sticking together)

The best HALUSKY pasta depens on the holes in the tool...

This one is easier to use!

It`s so easy, right?

This tool, everyone has this wooden tool.

Handmade in everyone`s homes...

I`m going to mix with this...

Flour and cream together...

Tina, that wooden tool made your dad, right???

Yes, this made my dad in Slovakia.

It`s very easy to use and mixing with it...

Nowdays, they sell it in plastic type, but...

You need to use wood

for the best taste of food.

In Slovakia, we have big gardens

It`s too easy, go to garden and make that tool

Woow!

Turn the fire down

Where did you see this wooden tool???

In another country in flea market sale...

Yes, you can also buy that wooden tool on Christmas Markets in Slovakia...

OK, paprika sauce is ready!

Sauce is finished.

Is Slovakian cucumber different from Japanese cucumber?

Slovakian cucumbers are much more hurting the hands...that sharp horns on the cucumbers...

The salad is too easy, just mix all together and it`s ready (cucumber, yoghurt)

I know, everyones image is, that yoghurt has to be sweet...

But I`m going to make a sour salad with it...

And you will be definitely shocked with the taste of this salad. Some new taste to you I think...

Salt

And if you want you can put more salt after tasting...it`s up to you.

And let`s put the vinegar

It smells so good!

In old Slovakia, we didn`t have a mayonese

We were making our own mayonese at home.

Oil and eggs mixed together...

fe...for traditional christmas salad

Christmas potato salad.

I`m going to make slovakian Palacinky now...

In Slovakia the filling is jam

when I lived in England

made that pancake and

filled with honey and banana inside of pancakes.

GREAT!

Let`s spread the jam now on Palacinka

roll it

This one is ready.

My older bro loved strawberry jam

I love blueberry jam

How did we know which pancake is with different jam?

My mom made always 2 types of it...

My bros was rolled and mine "palacinka" pancake was the sharp of triangle.

That`s how we knew which one is which...

it was easy for us than.

And we didn`t fight

how many you ate?

The point is after making it, eat it very soon.

In Slovakia, we`ve got 4 seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Just like here, in Hokkaido.

This looks like Hokkaido`s nature right?

My grandpa was always working on the grass like this...

Bread is homemade in Slovakia

They sell the bread of course but

the best is homemade.

We don`t eat so much rice in Slovakia. Maybe once a week.

We don`t eat so many rice like in Japan.

The main I can say is potato, pasta...

if you mix cocoa with butter

you can have slovakian choco spaghethy.

Slovakian people loves to eat that.

Mine japanese kids doesn`t like it at all...

Sweet spaghethy? NO WAY mom!

Thank you so much everyone!

Thank you for your food!

Woow, everyone said it was a delicious

you made me so happy everyone!

Really, thank you so much.

I`M SO HAPPY NOW!

Thank you

Thank you everybody for coming.

U.S., China, Japan condemn North Korea missile launch - Duration: 1:57.

The United Nations Security Council has called a meeting for Wednesday to address the missile

launch.

The U.S., Japan and China have already condemned the North's latest provocation... as a threat

to peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Song Ji-sun has more on the global reaction.

Washington is taking the situation very seriously,... but U.S. President Trump is certain he has

the situation under control.

(English) "A missile was launched a little while ago

from North Korea.

I will only tell you that we will take care of it.

We have General Mattis in the room with us and we've had a long discussion on it.

It is a situation that we will handle."

But the U.S. is also keeping the door for talks open... as Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson,

added that "diplomatic options remain viable and open, for now" and that "the U.S. remains

committed to finding a peaceful path to denuclearization" in a statement.

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe called the latest provocation a "violent act" that

can "never be tolerated."

(Japanese) "Japan will not back down in the face of provocation

but will maximize pressure on North Korea.

We will continue to protect the lives and livelihoods of the people of Japan under the

strong Japan-U.S. alliance."

Beijing also condemned Pyongyang's violation of international resolutions banning ballistic

missile launches.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang urged Pyongyang to stop actions that

accelerate tension on the Korean peninsula... and asked all concerned nations to act carefully

for the sake of keeping peace in the region.

Upon the request of South Korea, the U.S. and Japan, the UN Security Council will hold

an urgent meeting in New York on Wednesday to address Pyongyang's latest ICBM launch.

BREAKING NEWS Out Of Japan - Duration: 3:26.

BREAKING NEWS Out Of Japan The Japanese government is working on different

scenarios to evacuate citizens in South Korea, including evacuating citizens home by sea

from the southeastern port city of Busan should airports be closed.

There are about 57,000 Japanese citizens in South Korea at any one time, according to

Nikkei Asian Review.Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Monday, when asked about tensions

of a nuclear threat from North Korea:

There is a possibility of further provocations, we need to remain extremely vigilant and do

everything we can to ensure the safety of our people.

If the U.S. decided on a military strike against the North, the Japanese government would start

moving toward an evacuation on its own accord regardless of whether the American plans are

public.Japans proposed plan is comprised of four steps: seek to limit unessential travel

to South Korea, discourage all travel to the South, advise Japanese citizens to evacuate

and encourage them to shelter in place.

South Koreas military conducted a live-fire exercise simulating an attack on a nuclear

site, to strongly warn North Korea in response to the rogue nations apparent

nuclear test, South Korean officials said early Monday.

In response to North Koreas latest hydrogen bomb test, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said

Sunday afternoon that any threats by North Korea to the U.S. or its allies would be met

with an effective and overwhelming military force, we are not looking to the total annihilation

of a country but we have many options to do so.

According to Fox News, the United Nations Security Council met Monday for an emergency

meeting following the Norths recent provocations.

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley told the council that while War is never something

the United States wants enough is enough.

We dont want it now.

But our countrys patience is not unlimited, Haley said.

The United States will look at every country that does business with North Korea as a country,

that is giving aid to their reckless and dangerous nuclear intentions.

The art of diplomacy and the heavy sanctions will never work on North Korea, though it

is part of the necessary steps before a military conflict is green lighted.

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said he was drafting a new sanctions package against the

communist nation.

The U.S. has already imposed economic sanctions on North Korea to stop the countrys pursuit

of a nuclear weapon, in which the DPRK has blatantly ignored.

President Donald Trump responded to North Koreas nuclear test:

North Korea is a rogue nation and that their words and actions continue to be

very hostile and dangerous.

South Korea is realizing their talk of appeasement with North Korea will not work.

Then added, The United States is considering, in addition to other options, stopping all

trade with any country doing business with North Korea.

It appears that by the time the U.N. agrees to put a physical stop to North Koreas

nuclear threat, it will be far too late and North Korea will be a viable threat to the

U.S. and its allies in the South Pacific.

FUKUSHIMA JAPAN WANTS TO DUMP A MILLION TONS OF CONTAMINATED WATER IN TO THE OCEAN - Duration: 3:12.

FUKUSHIMA JAPAN WANTS TO DUMP A MILLION TONS OF CONTAMINATED WATER IN TO THE OCEAN

A decision is still not reached on toxic water at Fukushima.

The Japanese authorities are still unsure as to how to proceed regarding a million tons

of nuclear water which has been held since the primary nuclear power plant in the Japanese

city of Fukushima was devastated by a tsunami six years ago.

Six years ago, a magnitude nine earthquake rocked the coast of Japan and caused a devastating

tsunami which killed eighteen thousand people and brought the Fukushima nuclear power plant

into partial meltdown.

In the aftermath of the tsunami, radiation was blasted into the air, and huge amounts

of radioactive water were expelled by force into the Pacific Ocean.

150 TONS PER DAY Thanks to the brave work of dedicated employees at the power plant,

some of whom lost their lives as a result of the radioactive contamination inside the

plant, the crisis was contained, and the toxic water was prevented from spilling out into

the ocean.

Instead, it was redirected to 900 large, dense, packed tanks on the site of the power plant.

Radioactive water stored in huge tanks These tanks have caused considerable concern for

the Japanese authorities as they could very viably spill out uncontrollably if the geographically

volatile region were struck by another earthquake or tsunami.

The government is under pressure to come up with a solution shortly to prevent a future

catastrophe.

Time is considered to be of the essence as the volume of radioactive water at the site

is growing by an astonishing 150 tons per day.

The government has been advised by experts that the best way to handle this troubling

situation is to slowly and gradually release the water into the Pacific Ocean following

the removal of all radioactive material from the liquid.

This will allow experts to control the flow of water and ensure it is released at a safe

level which is far preferable to waiting until the tanks breach and the flow cannot be controlled.

ROBOT FINDS FUEL DEBRIS IN REACTOR 3 AT THE FUKUSHIMA NO 1 POWER PLANT While most people

appear to be satisfied by the proposed solution, the government are facing frantic lobbying

from local fishermen in the Fukushima area.

They have pointed out that their business suffered dreadfully as a result of the catastrophe

six years ago with 20% of consumers believing that their fish are not safe to eat despite

them passing all necessary tests.

According to Fumio Haga, a drag net fisherman based in the region around Fukushima, this

plan would be a further disaster for their business.

People would shun Fukushima fish again as soon as the water is released, he told

The Japan Times.

South Korea, U.S., Japan condemn latest North Korea missile launch - Duration: 2:42.

South Korea and its international partners have strongly condemned North Korea's missile

launch.

To bring us more on those reactions we have on the line with us, Kwon Jang-ho at South

Korea's foreign ministry.

Jang-ho, apart from President Moon's remarks, I believe Seoul has issued another statement.

Can you give us the details?

Good morning, Mark.

Seoul's foreign ministry issued a statement strongly condemning this latest missile launch,

saying the regime's repeated provocations not only threaten the Korean peninsula but

also world peace.

It said this latest action will only lead to further international isolation and stronger

sanctions.

Seoul stressed that Pyongyang needs to realize that only by giving up its nuclear weapons

can it hope to guarantee its security and economic development.

The statement added that Seoul will firmly respond to any provocation, and that they

will continue to work closely with the U.S. to act as a deterrent force and protect the

South Korean people.

Strong words from South Korea, and we will continue to watch what actions Seoul takes.

How has the international community reacted so far?

Let's start with the U.S., where President Donald Trump issued a very short statement,

soon after the launch.

Speaking to reporters in Washington, he said, quote,

"I will only tell you that we will take care of it" and that "it is a situation that we

will handle."

This is a far more muted response than we are used to seeing from President Trump, compared

to previous rhetoric of "fire and fury" and threats to "totally destroy" the North.

Trump added that nothing had changed on Washington's approach to North Korea and they took it very

seriously.

U.S. Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, issued a separate statement condemning the launch,

but also added that "diplomatic options remain viable and open, for now" and that "the U.S.

remains committed to finding a peaceful path to denuclearization."

In Japan, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, also added his condemnation of the launch, calling

it a "violent act" that can "never be tolerated."

He vowed to put maximum pressure on the regime to give up its nuclear weapons.

The U.S. and Japan have also called on the UN Security Council to convene an emergency

meeting on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, there is so far no word from China and Russia, North Korea's two closest allies.

Both had said the recent lull in provocations could be the basis to reopen six-party talks,

but it looks like those statements have to be reevaluated now.

Back to you.

LEARN JAPANESE DIALECT 1: OSAKA GREETINGS AND THANK YOU - Duration: 6:14.

MAIDO everyone!

My name is Cathy Cat and with me I habhabhabhab

Yeah just like that, but let's do it one more time.

Ready go...

MAIDO everyone, this is Cathy Cat!

Today we start our very first OSAKA dialect lesson!

That's why we have someone here who knows the dialect best,

he is our Osaka dialect champion. - I am the Champion!

Introduce yourself.

I edit and film for the Kawaii Pateen channel

I go by the name HAYAPPE.

Hayappe where are you from?

I am born, breed and raised in Osaka! A real Osaka boy.

Yes Osaka! That makes you Osaka champion.

Sure.

Many of our viewers commented that they have a big interest in Japanese dialects.

The Osaka dialect is also quite popular across Japan.

If you only speak a little Osaka dialect,

people will be like "Wow why does a foreigner know that?!"

So it's pretty handy to know some.

Cathy do you know some Osaka Kansai dialect?

Yeah I know things like Nandeyanen.

There is another one just as famous, you see it on TV and I'll introduce it here too

Word number one is MAIDO

- Maido, maido, MAIDOOOO - The first word we said at the start of this video.

You say that a lot.

When to use it?

Maid you use it generally....

- *tries different maido emotions*

you use it generally not like that....

You don't use it that casual.

But the actual meaning is...

It's more like a greeting. Like saying hi.

- Hayappe MAIDO! - MAIDO!

So you can say it without the name? Just Maido.

- Okini - Okini???

You use Okini as a connecting word to Maido a lot.

Maido plus Okini?

They come often as set.

Can you say that to shop owners?

Well actually the shop owners themselves will use MAIDO a lot.

I don't generally use maido that much but

But if you go to a shop, finish eating and go home they will shout "MAIDO"

You can say it instead of goodbye too.

Like hello and goodbye?

That's right you can use it for both.

Maido is the short way of saying "maido arigatou gozaimashita"

Shorter is Maido

So thank you everytime, always.

Thank you for always coming to our shop.

That's right.

Would you like to use it like that when you say hi?

Hi, thanks always.

For example

When talking with friends...

- Maido Cathy - Maido!

That's it.

Well that's quite simple to use.

- Simple right? - Super simple.

Let's level this up. - Level two!

I told you about the long version "Maido arigatou gozaimashita."

In the Osaka dialect, there is now one thing that follows MAIDO.

Pretty much always. - Always?

That's the word Ookini.

Ookini!

Wait I have heard this one before. It's like thank you.

That's right.

- Yes go me! - Thank you.

Maido is "hi + thank you"

We say it as Maido okini. Thanks, always.

Maido okini!

Kansai Osaka dialect is so energetic.

It really is. Just throw out Maido Okini!

If it rolls off your tongue, you are from Osaka.

Thank you always mate, yay.

That's it. In Osaka are almost as energetic as people from abroad when we talk.

English "Thank you" is super energetic language right?

We in Kansai, Osaka are very similar.

Okini! Thanks.

Can I use Ookini without the word maido?

Yes you can!

- Here you go! - Oh Thank you!

I see! Give me that too please.

Here you are. - Thanks.

Thanks, are you serious about giving me this gift?

???

That's a more advanced level.

Let's do that another time.

Yes.

Maido and Okini are easy words to use and to remember.

That makes it fun to use Kansai, Osaka dialect.

If you come from abroad to Osaka, people in shops will know about it.

Nice. I wanna do another example round.

Ready go!

For example!

In the shop...

Slurp

- That was a feast! - Thanks always!

Everyone, if you use Maido and Ookini together, you'll have a lot of fun.

You can use Ookini just like that as "Thank you".

So convenient!

But when you come to Tokyo instead...

people will look at you strangely if you suddenly speak the Osaka dialect.

Well it's a different dialect from Tokyo after all.

So go to find out about Japan in Tokyo, then come to Osaka kansai area

and then use as much Osaka dialect as you want!

(Cathy switches to English)

So that shows that you know a little bit of Kansai language,

so you can use that if you go to Osaka, and show off a bit of the Osaka slang ...

To remember these words is really fun.

I like using local dialects because people do great reactions to that.

I hope you enjoyed this course.

If you want to find out about more of our classes that we are doing in Japanese...

or maybe in other dialects, click the link which will be at the end of the video

so you can find the other videos.

Yes, on that note...

Hayappe, thank you for today! Ookini.

Thank you! Ookini! Thank you! Ookini!

North Korea launches ballistic missile towards Japan - DAILY NEWS - Duration: 2:32.

North Korea launches ballistic missile towards Japan

NORTH Korea has fired an inter-continental ballistic missile, the US has confirmed.

South Korea then retaliated with a "precision strike" missile exercise.

The North's rocket flew for 50 minutes and travelled 620 miles before landing in Japanese

waters.

Its government officials yesterday intercepted radio signals that suggested another launch

would be close.

The hermit kingdom's enemies were placed on high-alert and closely monitored the regime.

Activity had stepped up around North Korean military bases in recent weeks.

This is the first missile launch since the rogue state fired over Japan in mid-September.

The secretive state yesterday appeared to operate a radar to track a missile's trajectory.

A worried South Korean government source said: "More monitoring is needed to gauge whether

the North is trying to launch a missile or is preparing for winter training that starts

in December."

Pentagon spokesman Robert Manning added: "We watch North Korea very closely.

We'll continue to do so.

"The Republic of Korea and US alliance remains strong and capable of countering any North

Korean provocations or attacks."

Tensions have ratcheted in the region as the regime continues its quest for long-range

nuclear weapons.

The hermit kingdom remained eerily quiet over the past two months as fears grew over tyrant

Kim Jong-un's health.

The US and its allies have since stepped up military drills in response but the dictator

is refusing to back down.

China unleashed a barrage of military firepower close to North Korea's border over the weekend

in a brazen show of force.

Soldiers from the People's Liberation Army (PLA) carried out large scale war drills east

of Inner Mongolia on Saturday morning, according to Chinese media.

World War 3: Trump and Japan promise to 'COMBAT North Korea threat' after missile launch - Duration: 4:09.

World War 3: Trump and Japan promise to 'COMBAT North Korea threat' after missile launch

Tokyo's Yasutoshi Nishimura, the deputy chief cabinet secretary, detailed the phone call between Donald Trump and prime minister Shinzo Abe that agreed to boost their response to the hermit kingdom's missile programme and urged China to do more against despot leader Kim Jong-un.

He said both leaders "agreed to strengthen our deterrence capability against the North Korean threat" and agreed that China needs to play an increased role in tackling the rogue nation.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga revealed that military options against the hermit kingdom were not discussed but stated that Japan will work closely with the US and South Korea in response to the launch.

North Korea launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) at around 3am local time yesterday (6pm GMT), sparking a furious response from its southern neighbour. South Korea fired its own missile in retaliation within minutes of the rogue nation's ICBM launch.

The North Korean missile was fired eastwards and landed about 210km west of Japans Kyurokujima island, Tokyo said. Japanese media reports the missile was in the air for 50 minutes - indicating a very high altitude flight path.

It travelled east for around 620 miles and to an altitude of 2,500 miles before crashing into the Sea of Japan.

US intelligence officials revealed that the engine used was not significantly more powerful than the Hwasong 14 the hermit kingdom tested back in July. However unlike previous tests, the missile did not fly over Japan.

US leader Donald Trump was briefed on the missile while it was still in the air.

Mr Trump said: "It is a situation we will handle." He said the launch did not change his administrations approach to North Korea, which has included new curbs to hurt trade between China and North Korea, which it sees as important to deterring Pyongyang from its ambition to develop a nuclear-tipped missile capable of hitting the United States.

US Defence Secretary Jim Mattis said the ICBM went higher frankly than any previous shot theyve taken. The United States and Japan have asked for a United Nations Security Council meeting on Wednesday over the test, diplomats said.

Last night a South Korean military official said: "We confirm that we have detected a North Korean ballistic missile launch. The missile is still travelling towards the direction to the East Sea, as we are monitoring right now.

"North Korea fired an unidentified ballistic missile early this morning from Pyongsong, South Pyongan to the east direction.

South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff is analysing more details of the missile with the US side." Canadian officials announced last night that a planned meeting of foreign officials to discuss the provocative actions from the hermit kingdom will not take place before the Christmas break in late December.

Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland stated that Canada would host the meeting that would see at least 12 foreign ministers take part.
