Aaron Judge Wrist Injury: How Long Will He Be Out? | Heavy.com

Aaron Judge headed to first after taking a pitch to the wrist, and could be headed to the DL.

While the Yankees are adding pieces to their pitching staff, they're about to lose the All-Star in the middle of their lineup.

Aaron Judge took a pitch to the wrist in the first inning of Thursday's 7-2 win over the Kansas City Royals.

After attempting to play through the injury, Judge left the game to undergo further testing.

It was determined that Judge suffered a chip fracture in his right wrist, and will not be able to swing a bat in a game situation for three weeks.

It's a big blow to the Yankees, who put catcher Gary Sanchez on the DL earlier this week.

The Yankees are trailing the league-leading Red Sox in the AL East, and have a 4.5 game lead over the Mariners for the first Wild Card spot.

After hitting 52 homers in his first full season as a Yankee, Judge has had anything but a sophomore slump.

He'll head to the DL with 26 home runs, currently ranked fifth in the league.

The Yankees have depended upon Judge and the longball this season, hitting 19 more dingers than any other team.

Judge walked after taking the pitch to the wrist, then stayed in the game.

He had an infield hit in his next at-bat, but was then replaced in the lineup by Miguel Andujar.

Judge has spent most of the season in right field, but was the designated hitter on Thursday.

It'll likely mean increased right field duties for Giancarlo Stanton, who has spent most of his time with the Yankees in the DH role.

Aaron Hicks could also slide over and play right field, something he's done in over 60 games for the team over the last two seasons.

What Is A Chip Fracture?.

The Yankees tweeted that Judge's injury was to his ulnar styloid bone.

It's a small nub at the end of the ulna, one of the two major bones of the forearm.

The NIH recommends that wrist fractures be immobilized for three weeks.

So when reports say that Aaron Judge can't swing a bat for three weeks, it could be much worse.

Aaron Judge shouldn't even move his wrist for three weeks, with a full healing of the bone fragment taking place over six to eight weeks.

The Yankees are in the playoff hunt, but Aaron Judge is a franchise cornerstone.

Aaron Judge is 24 years old, and if the wrist doesn't heal properly there could be additional time missed in the future.

A six-week absence sets his return for early September, a few weeks before the final day of the regular season.

How Long Should Your Pants Be? - Duration: 3:11.

I know, I know. Look pretty silly. I see it too. My pants are a little bit too short

today. There's very few things that feel more awkward

than pants that are too short. Reminds me, a few years ago, I was at a friend's

wedding, a co-worker's of mine wedding. (Shout out to Justin Thomas). And a few days

before the wedding I had a new pair of pants come in. They were a little bit short.

No problem. I brought them to my tailor shop to have

them lengthened an inch. Then the day of the wedding, I went by the tailor shop, picked

them up, went to the hotel, changed and realized that the tailor shop had

accidently shortened them an inch. So now they were two inches too short. I can

feel you cringing for me. So, that's not good. Pants that are too short, very awkward

feeling. Pants that are too long, they start to bunch up,

look baggy, not a great look as well. So, how long should your pants be? Well, the

answer is, it depends. Not a very satisfactory answer, right? Well,

it does. It depends on the trimness of your pants. This is what I want to talk about

today. I'm going to show you some examples of pants that are too long and too

short. So you know how to get your pants fitting correctly. So I put on a pair of

pants, they're not my favorite pair of pants. They're a little bit fuller

cut than I prefer. A little bit looser through the leg. The bottom's a little bit looser. They're fine. And what we

did here is, as you can tell, the back of the pant is laying cleanly and the front of the pant is

getting a little bit of a break. So that's what we want. If they're any longer than

this, they'll start to puddle at the bottom, and be kind of sloppy looking. At the same

time, if they were much shorter than this, they're just going to swish around there, which we

don't want either. So next time I'm going to put on a pair of pants I like the fit of a

lot more, a lot more trim feeling, and you'll see the

difference. All right, so I put on a pair of pants that are a little bit trimmer. This is

more the way I like my pants to fit nowadays. They're more narrow through the

leg, the pant bottom is a little bit more narrow and, as you can see, the pants are

a little bit shorter. So they're still laying cleanly along the back of the pant,

the front is still getting a little bit of a break, and that's the way they

should look. So if they're much longer than this, if these were the same length as my

other pair of pants that I just had on, they would be puddling all at the bottom and not

look good. So, fortunately now, if you have some pants in your closet that don't fit

quite right, it's a really easy thing to change. You can bring it to a tailor shop,

just make sure you wear them, and have a tailor mark them exactly where you want

them lengthened or shortened. You know it's 15 or 30 bucks. It's real easy. And,

make sure you wear them there, because it matters how it looks when you're

standing, like you're giving a presentation. Or having your picture

taken. Something like that. That's what matters. That's when we want it to look

really sharp. If you're sitting down, with your legs crossed, and the pants come up

part way up your leg, who cares? If it bothers you that you can see a little bit of your

skin there, wear over the calf socks and you'll be good to go. What we don't want to do is

sacrifice looking good when you're doing something important, like giving your

presentation, if you're doing something not so important, like driving or sitting behind

your desk. So that's about it. You know this is a super easy thing to get just right.

And it just gives you the impression, gives you the look of, that you're put together, that

you care about the details and that's really a look that's flattering on all of us.

When it will rain and how long the UK heatwave will last - Duration: 6:43.

</form> It looked like the sunshine that Britain has been basking had finally come to an end with showers in parts of the UK - but it looks like we're back into the overpowering heatwave again

The north, including Scotland, northern Wales and parts of Ireland finally had some rain at the start of the week

But Met Office forecasters now say temperatures on Friday could break the all-time record of 38

5C (101.3F) set in 2003.  Thursday was already the hottest day of 2018 so far, with temperatures reaching 33

9C in Surrey.  The heat is forecast to remain through the second half of July and August, computer models show

The heatwave has left Brits feeling uncomfortably hot with many people saying they have struggled to sleep

So when will it end? When will rain again? How long will the heatwave last?  There's no real end in sight for now as the forecast predicts two more weeks at least of sunshine and high temperatures

When will it rain today?  Even if record temperatures are set on Friday, forecasters predict that the high pressure will bring thunderstorms

A Met Office thunderstorm warning for the East and North said: "Thunderstorms could see 60mm of rain in three hours

"  The "big bang" thunderstorms could dump more rain in three hours than some areas have had in three months

The UK has had just 47mm (1.85in) of rain so far this summer, making it the driest start to summer since records started in 1961

It's closely followed by 2013 with 59mm (2.3in) of rain. Why is it so hot?  High pressure over the UK is causing high levels of sunshine and clear skies

Unlike our usual hot spells that are down to warm air pushing in from the continent, this heatwave is caused by the weather lifting the temperature day on day

Met Office forecaster Steven Keates said: "The heat is coming from around the Mediterranean

" How long will the UK heatwave last?  The new hot spell is expected to last another two weeks - with more hot weather next week after a temporary respite on Saturday and Sunday

The hot weather is expected to continue through July and into August, but a brief spell of relief is on the horizon for some places

Met Office spokeswoman Nicola Maxey said: "Still above average for the time of year, but perhaps a bit of respite from that intense heat that we've been seeing in places

"Just for the east side of the country. The south and central areas are likely to continue with the higher 20s

" What areas will it affect?  The warmer weather is showing no signs of shifting

The north and west has now had some rain, but the south is still waiting for cooler weather and wetter weather

When was it last this hot?  The Weather Outlook forecaster Brian Gaze said: "Parallels with the famous 1976 summer can be made

"  We've now beaten the 1976 record.  Ex-BBC and Met Office forecaster John Hammond of weather trending said: "Hot and dry weather breeds hot and dry weather

This effect was seen in 1976.  "This spell ending seems increasingly unlikely through the first half of July

"  The driest summer on record was 1995, with just 64.7ml of rain in June, July and August

The average in June was 35.4ml. The average so far this year has the UK as one of the five warmest Junes since 1910

What's the record temperature?  Last month was one of the hottest for almost 400 years

June bordered on the top 10 hottest since records began 359 years ago in 1659, Met Office figures show

The average temperature during the month was 16.4C, 2.2C above normal, from June 1-29 in central England, the region enclosed by the Thames, Lancashire and Bristol

UK-wide, June's 14.5C average temperature – up 1.5C - verged on the hottest since 1976, Met Office data shows

June's UK rainfall was down by 52 per cent, worsening drought fears.  The UK record temperature for the month is 36

7C registered at Heathrow on July 1, 2015.  Bookmakers have slashed the odds of records being broken

We've now also broken the 1976 record for the hottest summer. Is there a hosepipe ban?  Utility companies have brought in a hosepipe ban in some areas as reservoir reserves have decreased thanks to the lack of rain

Check with your company if one has been brought in where you live. What does it mean for hay fever sufferers?  It's not great news

The pollen count is very high for the next week. Try some of our top tips for reducing hay fever, or try some hay fever treatments

Warning for elderly and children  Public Health England has issued a warning for those aged 65 and over as well as young children

They also added those with lung and heart conditions may find normal activities a strain when temperatures are high

How to protect yourself in the heat  Stay protected by wearing sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat - or try and keep in the shade

Drink plenty of water to keep hydrated, and stay cool in covered areas between peak sunshine times - 11am and 3pm
