Auto news on Youtube Sep 2 2018

Today I am travelling near Sendai. I'm currently at Matsushimakaigan station.

Here I would like to look at Matsushima Bay, ...

....because just as the "Three Gardens of Japan" exist, there are also "Three Landscapes of Japan" NIHON SANKEI:

This includes Matsushima Bay also Amanohasidate in Kyoto Prefecture and Miyajima in Hiroshima Prefecture.

Above all, these landscapes have influenced painters and artists throughout Japan.

For example, the famous poet Bashō wrote his own poem about this special place.

My seconde side trip near Sendai...I am now at the station Yamadera.

It takes around 60 minutes to get here from Sendai.

I am not longer in the Miyagi prefecture, but now I'm in the Yamagata prefecture.

Right now I'm going... I already saw the Yamadera. It's over there.

It takes around 5 minutes to the entrance and it is open till 5 pm.

It's 4 pm now and I've got 1 hour left. So let's go!

I have to go back to the exit, then I must be there at 5.30 pm.

I can say, today was a great day.

I liked Matsushima and Yamadera, but I must say that I prefer Yamadera.

It was so mystical here. Maybe it feels like that, because there were no people around.

I don't know how you feel, when the place is full of people in the morning or at noon.

But for me it was perfect.

At Matsushima the boat tour was a little bit to long for me, 50 minutes. Maybe you can take the shorter one.

I am going back to the exit and to the train station now .

And with that I would like to end my Vlog.

And we will see us tomorrow and then I'll move to Aomori.

What I'm going to experience there, you will see it in the next video. MATANE.

I just put my camera away, but something nice was happening.

I did not just see little cats, I also met an old man, who paints Kokeshi dolls here in Yamadera, but originally he is from Osaka.

He was very kind and after our talk he was giving a kokeshi doll to me.

This is what it looks like. Very cool!

Now I have an Omiyage and I'm very happy now and we will see us tomorrow. MATANE.

Japan Family Dinner - Duration: 10:44.

we were treated to one of my mom's specialties

which is okonomiyaki

actually my grandma

used to run an okonomiyaki restaurant in Awajishima

I heard that as well and

she has some pretty funny stories

it was so popular they had massive lines apparently

okonomiyaki is a normal thing here in Japan but

the stuff at Miki's house

I've never had it until now

the yamaimo, right? (Japanese slimy mountain yam)

yeah that's the secret. oh it's a secret?

well not really a secret but yeah

the hidden flavour comes from the yamaimo

Jeff isn't a big fan of beef tendons so we went with some sukiyaki beef for the mix

my dad's from Osaka so

he loves okonomiyaki and so he had to have a teppanyaki in the house

lol really? But of course cleaning it is a bit of a pain

but you can make some delicious items

it's like the Japanese bbq

yeah in Japan,

people really put importance on eating things while they're hot

while they're "delicious"

even if houses don't have a teppanyaki they use a hot plate

and they eat while simultaneously heating they're food

that's one difference hey

normally cabbage and pork

that's about it

but there are bunch of varieties like the "mix", "modan", "pork and egg"

you're about to see the super mix

definitely a first for most watching

this isn't suji

this is BEEF. Awaji beef

spicy and sweet

*the pork actually serves as an oil buffer so the other ingredients don't burn after flipping*

I have that video. you do?? yeah

and there's takoyaki sauce

okonomiyaki sauce, yakisoba sauce

especially in Kansai there are a bunch of sauces

there's the oyster sauce (thin) and there's thicker sauce (muddy type texture)

there's yamaimo in the batter so it's really soft

yamaimo give you energy in the summer

look this way

I'm Canadian

and typically, when we eat something delicious we don't vocalize how good it is

like in Japan, they always say "delicious!" or "tasty!"

when I eat something good

I just get quiet

and maybe say mmm

but for Miki and her mom I started doing it the Japanese way

I remember you used to praise my food from the start

you'd say it was delicious

but when I made dinner at Jeff's house his dad

was super quiet

so I thought I messed up

but he said it was good afterwards so I was surprised

I think at the time I was watching Japanese dramas already so

I knew I had to praise it when Miki made some food for me

now though I don't really say much (the natural Jeff way)

so I ask you. there are times when you get angry too

I get angry?

yeah like the time you made apple pie. -oh yeah

to top it all we had some mangos

and peaches. The mangos are from Miyazaki

and you wouldn't believe the price of these mangos

fruits are expensive here but

fruit farmers always strive for absolute perfection

thank you for watching! If you're interested in my channel,

JAPAN is tired of Social Networking: Japanese girls and boys tell us why - Duration: 12:37.

Feeling like "I HAVE to do MORE."?

Yeah that's it.

Our pictures HAVE TO look good.

I just ignore it.

Hey it's Cathy Cat. This time we are gonna ask Japanese people about "SNS tsukare"

which means getting tired of networking services, such as instagram, YT, Twitter.

Let's find out what really tires them out and what to do against it.

Let's go and Ask Japanese!

Have you heard about this "SNS tiredness"?

Yes. - You just said "AAAAAH".

I get that sometimes.

Maybe I am less tired, but I am impressed by the other people.

When do you feel tired of SNS then?

When I see people that post a lot more than me.

Makes me realize I am not doing anything interesting now.

You feel like you have to do more? - I do.

I feel like I should post more too.

I use Instagram.

When you see people who do more on SNS than you do,

how often do they post?

They post every day... and then every few hours too.

That's quite impressive.

Do you want to do that but can't?

Yeah.

What makes you tired of using Instagram?

How I am getting tied to Instagram.

Mine is quite similar.

When I see other people post, I compare myself with their lives...

Sometimes I even find myself, comparing my unique attributes .... my personality...

I compare it all to other people I see online.

That sometimes makes me feel depressed.

You compare your life with theirs.

It makes me wonder what I am doing with my life right now.

Others post their best, "I am in Hawaii" and such and it make you feel down?

Yeah like that.

I get that!

When do you feel the most tired of SNS?

Answering messages on the LINE chat app.

Maybe I am too relaxed and have my own pace but...

I feel like I have to answer messages.

Messages will be marked as READ too. - Yes things like that.

I miss the times when we didn't have smart phones.

But nevertheless I like taking pictures.

I like looking at other people's pictures on Instagramm too.

Do you use LINE or Instagram more?

I think I use LINE the most.

Having to reply makes you tired?

I think so, especially when things start piling out. Maybe that's a personal issue of mine...

Some people will be totally fine with this but...

I tend to put it aside for a while.

I am guilty of that.

Don't read it because of the READ notifications, and wait until you have time?

That's one thing to do.

Are you tired of SNS too?

Line has the "read" function on it...

Once that is there, we feel obliged to respond to it.

Sometimes the message gets clicked by accident...

it will say "READ" and I am like "Oh shoot now I have to respond asap"

How to you cure your SNS tiredness?

- How? I wonder... - Take a step back.

When I don't want to see Instagram, I will not look at it.

Same goes for Twitter.

Yeah that's how I do it

When I have to contact anyone, I answer Line messages quickly but...

normal chatting messages, I will answer when i want to.

Do you use lots of SNS?

I do - What do you use?

I use Twitter and Instagram.

Same here, Twitter and Instagram.

Recently people are talking about "SNS Tsukare", when they are tired of SNS.

When do you feel tired of using social networking services?

I understand that there are people who don't agree with my opinions.

But sometimes when I see anti posts like that, it makes me see there are all kinds of people.

Makes me wish I didn't see that.

You're like "Now I saw THAT now..."

When do you feel tired of SNS?

When I see myself, trying desperately to take "Instagramm-able" pictures.

Makes me wonder why I am doing all of this.

Want it to look cute but...

seeing how desperate I am about it... makes me question myself.

It's a bit sad.

I take pictures of food and scenery mainly.

When I take a normal picture, I add dried flowers or something

I try too hard to take good looking pictures.

You're desperately aiming for something Instagram-able.

That makes me tired somewhat.

The pressure of having to take beautiful pictures.

We HAVE TO take great pictures.

Trying different angles, taking lots of time. - That's it.

Is that what Instagram is about?

- It's somehow like that. - It's a bit of a pain really.

- It's just self-indulgence really. - But the result is fun.

Have you heard of "SNS tsukare"

SNS tsukare? Tired of SNS?

Watching someone's instagram stories...

If you leave your stories turned on, they will quickly change and keep running.

You don't pick who you watch, after a while you just switch through.

Doing that, I sometimes see a video that I wish I hadn't seen.

When that happens, I wish I hadn't watched it at all...

I shouldn't have used it in the first place, are the regrets and feeling of tiredness I get.

What do you wish you didn't see?

When people are a bit too crazy or such...

But also...

Seeing someone's Instagram stories being updated lots, while I have been waiting

for a while to answer my Line messages.

When I see he is so active online but doesn't reply to me, it makes me feel bad.

Ah... he is using that app there lots...

I wish he'd rather just answer my message please.

It kind of came out he is doing something fun. - Yeah I think that.

I understand that feeling.

When do you feel tired of SNS?

I sense it on Twitter.

When there is a topic that lots of people are criticizing...

It makes me feel uncomfortable when I see people with very different opinions to mine.

Does that include flaming? - What?

When someone harasses someone about their opinons?

Yeah that's one of them.

What do you do then?

I just ignore it and pretend I didn't see it.

When it comes out the other person was having fun, what do you do?

I just feel sad inside.

I wouldn't tell him that I saw it.

I would just feel shocked and tired.

Have you heard of SNS tsukare?

People walking around while using their smartphones...?

That too but it also means some people are tired and exhausted by SNS.

When do you feel that way yourself?

I personally don't feel like that at all.

But when looking at my phone it makes me want to travel to Okinawa or Hawaii.

I get a lot of line message daily.

Sns has become an indispensable way of getting information now.

That's why I will see nice pictures of Hawaii and such.

But I don't feel tired of it yet.

Instead of being tired, it helps you to escape? - Yes. It's important.

I need it for work too.

Instagram helps me to see things about abroad and such.

I actually look at SNS to feel better and get inspired.

You're not tired. - I am not.

When do you feel tired of SNS?

I get tired when I have to link up with people that I don't want to link up with.

There is a small number of them.

But I think it has more merit than de-merit. I met him through SNS too.

And that's how we both came to work together.

This is super timely, we just met a few weeks ago.

There is pretty much only an advantage of using SNS.

What main SNS do you use? - Instagram.

I use Line and Instagram.

But I do like Twitter too.

Do you post or just read on Twitter?

I tweet and I use it to find out what is popular right now.

I look in the mornings at it to find out the daily trend word.

I use those 3 SNS but I don't use Facebook.

You said you use instagram. What do you use it mainly for?

I use stories a lot. I am addicted to it. It's pretty bad.

I can put up memories or share the things I have learned.

Thank you for your time.

Urgh! Getting tired of social networking!

Has that happened to you? Many Japanese people said

one thing is just looking at everyone else looking great.

Makes you feel kind of bad about yourself.

Or you constantly have to put some good content up

and that makes you tired.

Another thing, because Japanese people are very polite,

and on many apps they are using it shows that someone has read the app...

You kind of need to respond instantly even if you might not want to respond

at that time. So how is that for you? Let us know.

With me, I do youtube here in my room, which is where you are visiting now.

I enjoy putting up content a lot.

I do a lot of Instagram as well. If you enjoy that stuff, be sure to come over.

Visit my YouTube as well. Just type in Cathy Cat and you will find me AND

and the Instagram. And the pictures on my instagram are mainly done by...

the guy behind the camera right now. The director of Ask Japanese.

Would be nice to see you on my Instagram as well.

I hope you enjoyed this video and I catch you soon for another video from Japan

if you have subscribed, so don't forget to subscribe.

Thank you very much and I catch you soon on Ask Japanese, Bye!

Chaos in Korea (Part 1) | History of Japan 20 - Duration: 5:09.

It was a time of betrayals, wars, and shifting alliances when the three kingdoms ruled the

Korean Peninsula.

And Yamato, the state that would become the Japanese state, didn't shy away from these

games.

What do you say we sprint through 300 years of Korean history in one video?

I know, I know.

They say it can't be done, it's too hard, you're putting your life on the line.

Well, so be it.

I will do whatever it takes for you, the viewer.

All I ask is that you leave a comment of support, right now, in case I don't make it.

Our journey begins in the 300s.

The peninsula had 3 kingdoms: Koguryo, Paekche, and Silla.

There was also Kaya, which was a confederacy of little city-states tucked right between

the two powerhouses of Paekche and Silla.

Poor Kaya was the Hawkeye of the bunch, standing next to Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America.

Fortunately, Thor, Iron Man, and Captain America were busy beating the crap out of each other.

Now, let's take a second to remember the names of the three Korean kingdoms.

Seriously, the rest of the video will be easy to follow if you just remember these three

names.

Koguryo was the strongest.

It liked to call the other two its vassal states.

Koguryo went around flexing its muscles, fighting bitter wars with Paekche, and even poking

the bear called the Sui Dynasty by doing raids in Chinese territory.

Koguryo did become friendly with Silla though.

It even orchestrated the ascension of a Silla king.

Facing increasing Koguryo aggression, Paekche appealed to Yamato for military help.

The Paekche king did something that, apparently, Paekche kings loved to do.

To demonstrate trust and good faith, he sent his own heir to Japan as a hostage.

Yamato sent an army to defend Paekche and attack Silla.

In the 400s, Paekche and Silla formed an alliance against the bully Koguryo.

Another huge war erupted between Koguryo and Paekche.

And what do Paekche kings do in dire times?

"Oh my god, I'm in trouble.

I know, let's ship a family member off to Japan."

This time, the Paekche king sent his own mother to Japan as a hostage.

Now if he had sent his mother-in-law, I wouldn't have been worried.

"I had to, it's a necessary evil!

Honey."

But sending his own mother was a sign that the war was going disastrously for Paekche.

Another sign that the war was going disastrously appeared in 475, when Koguryo attacked the

Paekche capital and killed its king.

This alarmed Yamato.

They had the strongest relations with Paekche and the Kaya Confederacy, and Koguryo's

rude behavior was threatening their influence in the peninsula.

The geographical dice were unkind to the Japanese archipelago when it came to metal ore.

Japan lacked metal, especially iron.

Most of their iron came from Korea, so they had to maintain good relations with the peninsula.

The Yamato emperor, Yuryaku, backed a king to the empty Paekche throne.

Remember the queen mother who was sent over as hostage earlier?

The new king was either her son or grandson.

Yuryaku also wanted to attack Koguryo, but he died from sickness, and at that point,

the court was busy with other things.

And now we're into the 500s.

Paekche and Silla have grown stronger.

Silla even started conquering territories in the Kaya Confederacy.

Yamato tried to protect its ally by sending troops against Silla, but failed.

After this loss, Japan appeared to have adopted a policy of non-intervention, militarily.

It lasted for decades.

Of course, there were small military expeditions here and there, and they kept sending supplies

to allies, but there were no major excursions.

It seemed their focus shifted towards taking care of things at home and away from losing

wars in foreign lands.

By mid-century, things weren't going so well for Paekche, as usual.

When they looked north, they saw relentless Koguryo attacks.

When they looked east, they saw an aggressive Silla pushing further into Kaya territory.

Now, Paekche was still allied with Silla, remember.

But you can't trust those shifty Silla bastards.

They feared an imminent Koguryo-Silla alliance.

And so they sought help from Yamato, and sweetened the deal by introducing Buddhism and writing

to Japan.

The introduction of Buddhism was a whole big thing, check out this video.

Curiously, Paekche did not send over a hostage this time.

Paekche's paranoia was proven right.

Silla attacked in 553, shattering the alliance.

And Yamato sent troops to reinforce Paekche's borders.

In 562, Silla absorbed the entire Kaya Confederacy, leaving Paekche as Yamato's closest friend

in the peninsula.

Meanwhile, up north, remember how Koguryo was poking Sui the Bear?

Well, they poked too hard, and the bear poked back.

With claws.

🇯🇵🇰🇷 TIFF GOES TO JAPAN AND KOREA EP 9 I JINHAE CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL - Duration: 13:34.

So right now we are currently at the jinhae cherry blossom festival

there's tons of people here today.

Today's a saturday

so lots of people came out to see the cherry blossos

Its actually really cold today

about 40 degrees F (for spoiled people like me its cold LOL)

so it's pretty pretty cold

so alot of the cherry blossoms have flow away already

so alot of the trees are pretty empty

but it is still very beautiful

and I would definitely recommend coming here during the spring

maybe when its a little bit warmer

it still feels like winter weather

so lots of bundling up

and its pretty freezing outside right now

so I just got a caricature done

so its 10,000won ($10)

Do you think it looks similar to me?

I think so

I really like it. its really cute

Today we are doing a tour

our first stop is at petite france

and there is a few dramas that actually filmed here

such as my love from another star and secret garden

and so we are just walking around petite france right now

after this we are going to head over to nami island

hopefully we can see some cherry blossoms while we are over there

So today is our full last day in seoul

we are spending right now at the yeouido park

there is suppose to be a cherry blossom festival

we are trying to look for that

but right now we are just trying to enjoy all the cherry blossoms

all the trees are right over there

and today the weather is actually really perfect

yesterday and the day before it was freezing and raining

and it actually snowed yesterday, a little bit.

so we actually got pretty lucky. The sun is finally out.

for our last day here in seoul

and we are just going to enjoy the weather

probably head over to hongdae later.

I'd like to walk around various instagrammable spots

Yu-chan has used Instagram efficiently

Yes, I think so, too. I understood how to take photos

I try to upload more instagrammable photos and increase my follwers

Today, we are going to take many photos for Instagram

At Azabu 10 Ban where a mixture of a high-end residential area and the friendly atmosphere of the traditional commercial and working-class neighborhoods

they'll walk around the places suitable for Instagram

At first, they went toward the shop to be talked about something for Instagram

Hello!

Hello! Great! They are really cute!

There are many delicious-lookig donuts with various tastes in the shop

This is DUMBO Doughnuts and Coffee that is located in 2 minutes' walk from Azabu 10 Ban station

But,

How can these ordinary doughnuts change to the Instagrammable ones?

For the time being, let's order something

A regular size of ice coffee

Anyway, they ordered ice coffees and

Franboise (raspberry) and powdered green tea cheese, please!

They selected very colorful doughnuts

Thank you so much

In fact, there's a popular knack for taking an instagrammable photo

The shop itself is cute, so in what way do you take a photo is all right

This is

What is it?

You put the Fanboise on a cup

It is a routine to put a doughnut on the drink

Since the shape of a big doughnut being put somewhat on a pink cup is very cute,

it's very popular among the instagrammable ladies

Immediately, they started taking photos

They've been successful in taking instagrammable photos

against the various items of the shop in the background

Now, we're at Azabu 10 Ban,

there are a lot of new shops though,

there is one of the Must Shops of long standing, so

We have to definitely visit the shop whenever we come this way

This is the Taiyaki shop of long standing, whose operation started 109 years ago

The shop's name is "Naniwaya Head Office"

They buy to eat the Taiyaki, Azabu speciality

that the crispy thin skin is closely packed with sweet bean paste

Before eating, the two take a photo of Taiyaki anyway,

They took a memorial photo with a Taiyaki of well-known shop

What's the taste?

This is the best Taiyaki that I've ever had

the sweetness of the sweet bean paste is very good

Next,

Helllo!

There are lots of doughnuts and fragnant smell is full of here

This is New New York Club that has just opened in 2017

You can enjoy freshly baked bagels with 40 different kinds of topping

There are many instagrammable bagels only this place of the shop,

in addition, they can offer superb bagels limited to Sat, Sun and holidays

What kind of bagel is it? Anyway, superb!

What's the superb bagel produced only for Sat, Sun and holidays

Excuse me! Please this way!

Wow, superb!!

This is the Rainbow Color Bagel that becomes the topic of conversation

The outstanding impact of its visual aspect is truely instagrammable

Both of them are going to take a photo immediately in front of the shop

Oh, it's nice!!

Perhaps, it's something like this, isn't it?

The view of the store is so nice so,

Yu-chan stands too far apart from shop's logo

What is that taste?

It's unexpectedly an light taste

At a glance, it seems to have a strong taste

So, it's no problem even for breakfast

The shop closes, once the Raibow Color Bagel are sold out, let's be in a hurry if you really want to eat it

Next is

We try to make something instagrammable

Make? What does it mean? In a word, let's attempt the instagrammable photos from a different point of view

This building!

In this building,

When they entered the room

There are a variety of wonderful flower arrngement

there are beautifully decorated flowers

and some flowers immersed in the liquid

What is this place here for doing?

Here is a class for making bouquets of preserved flower,

Herbarium and dried flower

and learning flower arrngement

They came to Floral Design Ishizono that is located in one minute's walk from Azau 10 Ban station

The method of herbarium production which can be learned here is as follow:

The dried plants is packed in an transparent container and preserved in special oil

The beauty of herbarium is surely very instagrammable

It's cheerless to merely make herbarium

Why not have a bout with each other,

As for whose can make more instagrammable herbarium

Finally, we'll ask the teacher of this class to decide which one's herbarium is more instagammable

All right!

Who can have a good sense of producing herbarium suitable for Instagram?

First of all, they select a kind of dried flower used for the herbarium production

My first name is Natsuko. It's simply because I was born in summer

Judging from a season color, may it be orange for summer?

An orange color fits the summer season, the teacher follows

When I hear a word "Eucalyptus", I only think of "feed of koara"

Eucalyptus is also used for "warding off evil spirts"

I definately want to include Eucalyptus in my herbarium

in order to put all distracting thoughts out of my mind

Nacchan selected Lonas (African Daisy) of orange color that imagined hot summer from its name, and

Eucalyptus being effective in protection from harm

How about Yuchan?

My mother's birthday is near at hand

so, I'll give her the herbarium of my own making as a birthday present

I like this!

Rose hip!

This is very tasteful!

Yuchan selected a slightly sober rose hip and baby's breath for her mother's birthday present

After deciding dried flowers used,

let's cut them to fit the shape of a container

Could you imagine your herbarium?

Yes, I fully rely on my image!

I can see the finished product of mine

Nacchan is working with nice tempo, however

It's all right to insert this,

But, it is a burden to the inlet of a bottle

What should I do?

Why not take it out from the bottle? Although it's a waste, I think

She made a mistake at the allocation of flower's length. Let's do over from scratch

After that, both silently repeated to cut the flowers and then, fill a bottle with it for 30 minutes

Yes, done! It looks OK!

It looks like OK!

I'd better stop to this extent

It seems to be all right!

The inserted flowers contact the side of bottle

Both were successful in neatly inserting fried flowers in the bottle

They are very beautiful in this state,

At the last, by pouring the special oil in the bottle,

you can get a more beautiful finishing

Up to about this level?

Wow, cute!

It turned nicely transparent

I'm very happy!

On the other hand, Yuchan have also finished the Herbarium for the birthday present for her mother

We're done!

It took one hour to complete their herbariums

The herbariums that the two made are here

Finishing oil emphasizes the colorfulness of the flowers

They could take very instagrammable photos

Immediately, they took a photo with the herbarium

Who can win a game?

This time, I have confidence in my work

Are you sure?

This one!

While Yuchan was taking a photo,

The background of this room is very supurb, so I've fitted the background in my photo

what is more, for this Location, I painted my nails with instagrammable colors

Is that so! I thought you've dressed something up, today

Of course!

Next, Yuchan chose a photograph

This one

The busket is cute!

This is a stool made of banana's leaves

High-level pictures taken by the two advanced learners for Instagram,

Teacher's Judgement?

Nacchan won!

Up to her constant effort to win the game, Nacchan won the confrontation of Instagram for the first time

I've immensed myself in making herbarium and really wanted to make something more

It was a fun to take various photos

Thank you so much!

This time, we've walked around a variety of instagrammable spots
