Hello everyone!

When you ask me which kind of Ramen I like the most, I would say Tonkotsu Ramen.

Because they are really delicious and I love them really a lot.

And there is one shop that really has the best Tonkotsu Ramen in Japan and this is ICHIRAN.

I haven't been there for two years and this is what we want to change today.

Because we are already standing in front of Ichiran and we go inside now and have some yummy Ramen.

And because you wanted to have some restaurant recommandations on my channel, I take you with me today.

Have fun!

Ichiran is a chain restaurant and you can find it in most of the bigger cities.

Your orders you are making on a vending machine.

This is quite easy and most of them are available in English now.

Ramen, Tamago (egg), Matcha Pudding.

These papers you give to the staff then.

Mostly there is such a board where you can see vaccant seats.

But still wait until one of the staff members asks you to sit down.

All seats have screens which give you some privacy.

At your seat you will get a paper such this one.

I also got one in English.

Here you can decide how you want your ramen.

The texture of the noodles, the strongness of the soup, if you want meat or onions,

or if you want it spicy.

Itadakimasu!

Oishii! (yummy)

My husband took an extra portion of ramen noodles.

The noodles you get in an extra bowl and then can put them in your soup.

This was our visit at Ichiran. I hope you enjoyed it.

I am quite full now and especially the matcha pudding at the end was very very delicious.

I didn't even know that they are having a dessert now.

I really can recommand this one. Try it out!

And all in all, if you are in Japan and want to eat ramen, take a look there.

Ichiran is really delicious.

You only need to take care that especially in Tokyo and other big cities, it can happen

that there is a long waiting line.

We were lucky. We have been in Yokohama and it was not so busy today. We could enter right away.

But as I said, especially during the eating times and can be very crowded and you might need to wait outside.

That was all. I hope you enjoyed the video.

Give me a thumb up or leave a command. That would make me happy.

And for sure I am also happy about new subscribers.

See you next time! Bye bye ^^~

Top 5 things to do in Takayama | japan-guide.com - Duration: 7:56.

Takayama is a pleasant mountain town in the northern Japan Alps famous for its well preserved

old district, woodworking, and its festival.

Located in the mountainous Hida Region in the northern part of Gifu Prefecture, Takayama

(which is often called Hida Takayama to distinguish it from other places of the same name) can

be reached in just under two and a half hours from Nagoya via the JR Hida Limited Express

train and in about 5 and half hours from Tokyo by direct highway bus.

Here are a few other options to access Takayama, which may be helpful depending on your location.

Takayama has been renowned for many centuries for its high-quality timber and the skill

of its carpenters; aspects that are still prominently displayed through the town's architecture.

In the feudal days of the Edo period, when Japan was ruled by dozens of regional lords

(called daimyo), the shogun in Edo had direct control over a few strategically important

locations (such as Sado Island for its gold & silver mines, and Nagasaki for its port).

Takayama used to be one such location due to its excellent wood and talented craftsmen,

which were highly valuable commodities in those days.

This brought significant wealth to the town and its merchants.

Even today Hida lumber, wood crafts, and furniture remain famous nation-wide.

Takayama is also an excellent base from which you can reach many nearby worthwhile locations

such as the beautiful nature of Okuhida as well as Shirakawago's massive farmhouses.

With this in mind, here are our Top 5 Recommendations for Takayama and the nearby areas.

Number Five: Takayama Jinya

As mentioned earlier, because of its valuable timber resources, in the late 1600s

Takayama was put under direct control of the Tokugawa Shogunate.

Staffed by officials sent from Edo (or Tokyo), the Takayama Jinya building complex in the

middle of town served as the local government office until the Meiji Restoration in 1868.

Today the buildings still stand and have been turned into a well-maintained museum where

visitors can walk through the large tatami rooms which were once offices, conference

rooms, and there is even an interesting "interrogation room".

Also, next to the main building is the largest traditional rice storehouse in Japan which

now showcases many historical items and documents.

Number Four: Takayama Festival

Alongside the Kyoto Gion Matsuri and also Chichibu Night Festival, the Takayama Festival

is ranked as one of Japan's three most beautiful festivals.

Occurring twice each year this is not only a fun event to witness but also showcases

the town's incredible woodworking abilities.

The main attractions of the event are the parade of heavily decorated yatai, or festival floats,

performances with highly sophisticated wooden karakuri dolls decorating the floats,

and the procession of the ornate mikoshi through the town's streets which contain the shinto

deities of the main shrine.

Perhaps the highlight of the whole festival is on the evening of the first day when the

floats are pulled through the streets of Takayama's old town for several hours.

These two festivals which take place each Spring on April 14th and 15th as well as in

Autumn on October 9th and 10th.

During these dates, Takayama becomes extremely crowded with visitors.

If you hope to see one of the festivals, we highly recommend arranging accommodations

well in advance since lodging throughout the city gets booked many months beforehand.

Number Three: Okuhida Onsen

In our opinion, the Okuhida Region is one of the best places in Japan for experiencing

large outdoor hot spring baths in beautiful natural surroundings.

From central Takayama it's an easy side trip to any of the five onsen towns in the

Okuhida Region.

Each town has its own character and offers public bathhouses or ryokan with luxurious

open-air baths (called rotemburo) from which bathers can admire the surrounding Northern

Japan Alps while they soak.

We highly recommend staying overnight at one of the many onsen ryokan in the Okuhida region,

especially one with a rustic, local atmosphere and includes meals around a fireplace.

Guests of these Japanese style inns are given unlimited access to the pools at the inn where

they are staying.

Most ryokan will also welcome daytime visitors, but will charge an admission fee.

A prime example being the Suimeikan Karukaya.

If you end up the Shin-Hotaka onsen town, also be sure to ride the Shin-Hotaka ropeway

which features Japan's first double decker gondola and also has incredible views of the

Northern Japan Alps from the top.

Number Two: Shirakawago

Shirakawago is a formerly remote area where unique, massive gassho-zukuri farmhouses have

survived and can be viewed.

It can be reached in an hour by bus from the Takayama bus center located

just next to the JR Takayama train station.

Although only a few decades ago this farming village was relatively unknown, in 1995 the

area achieved UNESCO Cultural Heritage Status, only the fourth location to do so in Japan,

and has since become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the entire country.

The main attraction of Shirakawago is Ogimachi, which is the section of town with the highest

concentration of gassho-zukuri farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old.

"Gassho-zukuri" means "constructed like hands in prayer" because it's said the

steep thatched-roofs look like the praying hands of a Buddhist monk.

Impressively, these extremely solid houses are constructed without using any nails

yet have withstood the large amounts of snow the valley receives each winter for centuries.

Several of these farmhouses, such as the Wada house, are open to the public and many also

offer overnight stays which (in our opinion) is the best way to experience Shirakawago.

Usually these stays are fully booked several months in advance, so we recommend making

reservations well ahead of time if you are hoping to spend a night in a farmhouse.

Shirakawago is extremely picturesque in any season.

In spring there are cherry blossoms, in summer the town is green and lush, fall brings beautiful

colors, and in winter the areas is covered in a blanket of snow and there are night illuminations.

If you are unable to make it all the way to Shirakawa-go from Takayama, an excellent alternative

is Hida no Sato.

This well-done open air museum features over 30 traditional buildings from the Hida region

and is located right in Takayama.

Number One: Takayama Old Town

Featuring buildings dating back as far the 1600s, Takayama's Old Town district is one

of the best preserved historic districts in the entire country and definitely a must-see destination.

Walking these atmospheric streets, visitors experience a first-hand glimpse of what it

was like to visit Takayama during the Edo period.

The Old Town can be reached in an easy ten minute walk from Takayama Station.

There are also local buses which can be boarded at the station as well.

The Old Town area of Takayama is made up primarily of three streets,

IchinoMachi, Ninomachi, and Sannomachi.

Particularly worthwhile is Sannomachi Street which has many old homes, shops, cafes, and

sake breweries, some of which have been in business since the 17th century.

Also nearby is the Hachiman Shrine to which the autumn Takayama Festival is dedicated,

and several historic houses of local merchant families that have been opened to the public.

In the Northern part of the Old Town is where one of Takayama's two daily morning markets is held.

Here vendors sell local produce and crafts.

We hope this top five list gives you a good place to start when planning your trip to Takayama.

Super Mario Land Manga! Nintendo GameBoy Comic Adventures - English Dub From Japan - GTV - Duration: 24:00.

Time once again for another installment of Super Mario Manga!

This time we will go right to the beginning with the very first book in the series, Super

Mario Land.

This series of weekly comics were originally published in Bon Bon Magazine, owned by Kodansha

Media.

Starting in 1989 and running for almost a full decade, the KC Mario series, as its often

referred to, covered each new Mario installment in comic form in its original run.

The entire series was written by Motoyama Kazuki.

The Super Mario Land book was first released on August 17, 1989 and chronicles the story

of the first Mario GameBoy Game.

Before we begin though, let me clear up something for people who may be wondering.

There are actually 4 books in the Super Mario Land series.

I guess at the time, Kodansha didn't really know how far the comics would run and so the

second, third and fourth books carry the same name.

But only the first volume is actually about the game.

Volume 2 is about Tetris, volume 3 is about Golf and volume four is about Qix!

Why not Alleyway or something else altogether?

You got me!

Will I translate and present these books someday?

Yes....

Anyway, lets begin.....

Transport yourself back in time to 1989.

The GameBoy was brand new.

You probably haven't even played one yet and even for those who did, it would likely

be an all new experience that maybe takes some learning to figure out.

I mean, interchangeable games and how they work are all forgone conclusions now, but

the GameBoy was certainly not the Game & Watch, though we love that too!

So some things might be explained a little too simply for us, but just remember its a

"product of its time" whatever that means.

The book starts with a great detailed map of all 4 stages of Super Mario Land.

Telling you where each mushroom and star are located as well as some other stuff too.

The the cast of characters is introduced.

One thing about Super Mario Land is that some, but not all of the Japanese names are retained,

while the mainline Mario series mostly has original names for each language.

Notice that Peach (aka princess toadstool) looks rather unhappy.

That because, as we all know, Daisy is the damsel in distress for this story.

But it also begins the long running rivalry between Peach and Daisy over Mario, which

runs across, well pretty much the entire 10 year run.

There are also a few characters not in the game, but who are added to make the story

more engaging.

I mean after all, in every game, its pretty much Mario running by himself, and thats actually

not too interesting...

The book is layed out in four chapters, one for each stage of the game as well as the

names of the 4 kingdoms of Sarasa Land.

Chapter 1 begins with Mario and Peach showing up at Princess Daisy's castle for a visit.

It appears that Peach and Daisy go a long way back but Mario is meeting Daisy for the

first time.

He's very taken by her looks and she acts in a very flirtatious way to him.

Much to ire of Peach.

They immediately start bickering and the fighting escalates in a full blown food fight.

Mario tries to intervene but suddenly, out of nowhere, the castle is under an attack!

An air raid over the kingdom sends its residents into a panic.

Then the leader of this army Tatanga, who calls him self the Emperor of the Universe

descends in front of the castle gates and declares Sarasa Land as his own.

Mostly because he's about 1 meter tall, Daisy doesn't take him seriously, but her

father, the king bows down and scolds Mario for pointing out his tiny stature.

Tatanga wastes no time and abducts Princess Daisy.

Mario runs after her and Peach follows, but Mario says its too dangerous for a girl to

go with him.

OK before you point it out, YESSS Peach was in Super Mario 2 NOOO it was NOT released

in Japan at this time, 1989, so the reader wouldn't know that.

NOOOO Peach could do it just as well as Mario regardless of that.

Or maybe that's a YES.

It's a little hard to follow the circle of logic here.

So Mario takes off but Peach still wants to help and remembers the present that they had

bought for Daisy, she opens it up to reveal, Mecha Kuribo!

A robotic operating….

helper.

He's got 4 wheel drive and a propellor head as well as a laser scope to blast anything

in his way.

Peach sends Mecha Kuribo off to follow Mario.

When they meet up he explains to Mario that he knows the terrain of Sarasa Land and can

help navigate through.

Mario exclaims how lucky he is to have Peach supporting him.

Mecha Kuribo tells Mario that they are crossing into The Pirapito Kingdom.

A dry desert resembling Ancient Egypt.

Some Goombo, spot Mario and plan to inform Tatanga of what's going on.

But Mario quickly stomps them.

I mean after a few Mario games, its just instinctual right?

Mario finds a pipe which he believes will take him to a Bonus Zone and tells Mecha Kuribo

to wait here a minute.

While Mario is gone we learn that Mecha Kuribo is actually Princess Peach.

I know you didn't see that coming!

Mario comes back and they find Bombshell Koopas waiting.

Mario makes quick work of them but is puzzled by the bombs that they left behind.

WELL…, it IS a bomb, so it blows up right in Mario's face.

Just then a Fighter Fly jumps on Mecha Kuribo and gives him a kiss!

But remember, its actually Peach and Mario doesn't know it.

Mario retaliates with a round of SuperBalls.

Which the book explains is how Fire Flowers work in this game.

The Fighter Fly is defeated and Mario uses the SuperBall to gather coins in hard to reach

places.

Hey wait hold on?!?!

That works?!!

All this time!!

I never knew it!!!!!!!!!!!

The two move on and Mario muses how these SuperBalls might give him a chance to see

up Peach's dress, which becomes a running gag in future books.

Mecha Kurio scolds Mario for daring to think such a thing and picks him up by the tuchus

forcing him to apologize.

The two venture through underground catacombs inside until they come across a giant GameBoy!

If you have played the game, you know what this means as you have a chance to get a bonus

after each stage.

Mario explains that the ladder can help you or hurt you, depending.

He pushes the A button and (dun dun dun dun!) he gets a 3UP!!

Mecha Kuribo says they have to move quickly, Mario agrees because if they don't hurry,

Daisy will be forced to marry Tatanga against her will.

BunBuns appear and make their attack.

Mario counters with a SuperBall strike.

He wins the battle and Peach though just cant stand the sight of any bugs.

Mario, doing his victory dance jumps up and hits a block.

From which a heart pops up.

On the back of the heart is a note from Daisy with lots of love!

In a fit of jealousy, Mecha Kuribo krangs Mario over the head.

To which Mario exclaims that Mecha Kuribo must actually be Peach.

No reveal yet though.

Were only 36 pages in anyway!!

They come to the big pyramid.

Mecha Kuribo says that the boss must be inside.

There's also a lot of danger ahead.

Rocks fall from the ceiling.

Mario pushes Mecha Kuribo out of the way to safety.

The shock makes Mecha Kuribo cry.

Mario finds it strange that a robot can cry and Mecha Kuribo says its just oils coming

out of his eyes.

They move on taking different paths, with Peach very very nervous about the whole journey.

The bottom path, chosen by Mario leads to many coins, while the other….nothing.

The eventually reunite and find themselves face to face with Gao!

Mecha Kuribo uses his propellers to flyaway!

But then they face King Totomesu!

The boss of World 1!

Off in the distance Daisy is locked away and begs for help.

So as I've said 29 times already Peach is in a robot body.

And so somehow it gives her robot like powers.

She can see King Totomesu's weak spots and now knows how to defeat him.

She tells Mario that 5 hits with the SuperBall will do the job.

Mario manages to get 4 hits in, thanks in part to the SuperBall bouncing off the walls.

But Totomesu gets an attack in and Mario loses the Super power.

Mario, trying to find another way to defeat Totomesu, tries a head stop, but that never

works on bosses!

Sometimes mini-bosses but NEVER end ones!

I mean come on Mario!!

He loses his balance and fall off, landing on a lever, which collapses the bridge and

sends King Totomesu to a fiery end.

Princess Daisy is freed and rewards Mario with a kiss!

Of course it really isn't Daisy its a Fighter Fly in disguise!

Mario and Mecha Kuribo leave Pirapito and set off to find the real Daisy!

And so begins Chapter 2!

Mario and Mecha Kuribo arrive in the Myuda Kingdom.

Daisy and Tatanga are preparing for their wedding ceremony.

While preparing his wedding feast, Tatanga takes some Torions, eats the alive and tosses

out the bones, which in the game are called Honen.

Tatanga orders them to go and find Mario!

This is actually mentioned in the Super Mario Land Manual as part of the backstory of the

game.

Well the Honen do find Mario and one takes a bite out of his tuchus!

Thats the second time so far he's been hurt there.

The pain is so intense it makes Mario jump out of his overalls!

And yes, we see Mario's WANGG!!!!!!!!

I know many people use the phrase "I'm not one to nitpick" but that's not me"

I AM ONE TO NITPICK!

I mentioned this originally on this channel on October 9th, 2016 that these books had

scenes such as this.

Yet this somehow didn't make the internet until 2017 and was I credited?!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

And every article was just like OMG OMG OMG WTF?!?!

With no explanation of whats going on here.

So let's break it down.

Why is IT the way IT is?

The joke here is supposed to be that its not up to par, to keep it polite but if you've

ever seen an illustration in a baby's health book you'd see that the 2 wanggs are identical.

So the gag is that he has a baby wangg which you'd easily understand because in Japan

you'd eventually come across a drawing somewhere that looked like this.

Also there's a playful tension between Mario and Peach and since Peach is secretly hiding

and Mario doesn't know it, the whole thing is a great laugh!

Anyway, Peach as Mecha Kuribo takes offense and socks Mario right in the face, sending

him down a pipe, which is a bonus zone.

Coming back up though he gets ambushed by a Mekapon…

A heated battle ensues where Mario summons the spirit of UltraMan and launches Mocha

Kuribo's head to battle Mekapon.

I know this frame looks confusing but Peach has switched helmets, simply put.

Mario defeats the Mekapon and then confronts the YURARIN PUU.

Mario tires the SuperBall, but it just wont work.

So he wraps the tail of the YURARIN PUU and wraps it around his mouth to win the fight.

Mecha Kuribo climbs in one of the UFOs that litter the stages and discovers the Marine

Pop!!

Which allows Mario to dive underwater and blast emeries quickly and quite safely! oh

and YURARIN PUU sits quietly in the back seat!

Moving along the Marine Pop is grabbed by the giant octopus GUNYON, but Mario just blasts

him straight in half.

With everything clear the tear down a wall and fins Mario's name spelled out in coins!

Mario says that it's a message from Daisy!

I remember this in the game and I never thought about it before, but that is really clever

and really fits the story of the game and with limited space on GameBoy games a neat

way to do that.

After that the underwater boss appears from the darkness.

The boss is gigantic and fearsome.

Mecha Kuribo's robotics start to kick in, and Mocha Kuribo, who is really Princess Peach,

tells Mario the quick want to defeat the boss.

Then sends a fatal blow to the boss!

The Marine Pop surfaces and the three find Daisy and then free her.

Only to have Daisy transform into an octopus and ink Mario then scuttle away.

2 chapters, 2 kingdoms, 2 stages down.

We're half way through the book!

When we come back its off the Easton Kingdom!

BREAK!!

Welcome Back!

Chapter 3 follows World 3, the Easton Kingdom.

If you didn't notice each of the names of the areas is a reference to the culture that

the games takes, which I'm sure you know, the game does in heavy doses.

Easton is a portmanteau of Easter and Stone because its supposed to be an analog to Easter

Island!

Which Japan has some kind of obsession with that I can't understand.

Off we go…!!

When Mario and Mecha Kuribo, who is really Princess Peach land on the beach at Easton,

they first encounter the giant MOAI stone heads, which as the main attraction of the

real Easter Island, but these are alive and they attack immediately.

Then they encounter GAN, the rolling rocks that are used to carry Mario across the spikes

pits that are too wide to jump across.

Naturally they are afraid as living rocks have been trying to kill them since they got

here, So Mecha Kuribo stretches out Mario's face to look like a MOAI and they quickly

become allies.

Meanwhile Tatanga tells a captive audience how he plans to kill the evil Mario and save

the Easton Kingdom.

The boss of this world, HYOI HOI looks on.

As an aside the book makes a mention that HYOI HOI is not Sunplaza Nakano, who was a

famous celebrity in Japan at this time and is actually featured as an enemy in All Night

Nippon Super Mario Bros. and YESSS I will get to that topic sometime soon.

If I already haven't…

Getting back to Mario they have finally met humans from the Easton Kingdom, a girl named

SUU.

Mario thinks she cute, and Peach gets jealous, natch, but cant break kayfabe that she's

a robot.

SUU says that she will be their guide in Easton but it seems as if there is no safe place

in the kingdom at all!

Trying to jump around all of the SPIDERS, Mario gets caught in a web!

All the enemies who were chasing Mario from before have caught up and swarm Mario.

Luckily they free Mario from the sticky web and entangle themselves.

However a gang of SPIDERS surround Mario and move in quickly.

HYOI HOI the boss shows up and starts firing off a MachineGun and blasts the SPIDERS.

I don't know, maybe they are at war with each other?

HYOI HOI makes a proper introduction to Mario, who calls on Gan to help and together they

arrive at the boss fortress.

A giant complex maze!

There are 3 dead ends each with a special gag.

One dead end leads to BAKABON a famous manga character who appeared in Bon Bon Magazine

The second dead end leads to the old lady from Kitaro, or something, who says let's

do a puff puff!

Which if you don't know what that is, I feel sorry for you…

Then there's the third dead end!

Are you ready for this?

I don't think you can handle it!

You sure!?

The 3rd dead end is THIS THING!!!!!

A weird monster faced looking guy, standing next to a turr, totally Buttassnekkid!!

And his um, well either his arm is his weinarr or his weinarr is his hand!

Hello, internet?!

You forgot this one!!

So lets unpack the zillion questions this image brings!

What is it, where'd it come from and why put it here???

Well like I said, the other 2 panels feature other BON BON characters and this one is too!

Yes!

This thing!!!!

Had his own manga series.

It was from 1985 or so and was called Yappa!

Ah-Hogan Yo!

Which means Hey, its Hogan.

The story is about an out of control American Pro Wrestler!

Are you piecing this together!!?

Its a parody of HULK HOGAN!!!!!

He was champion at this time after all!.

Now that you know all of this, can you ever get the image out of your mind of Hulk Hogan

doing his famous ring poses with his donggg??

You're welcome….

Oh and it still doesn't beat Vince McMahon's caricature in Cracked from 1995

Ok I'm sure you're all laughed out from that one, so you know how it goes, they battle,

yada yada but then suddenly SUU transforms into a spider!

With 8 shots at once now they are able to easily beat HYOI HOI, who upon defeat says

that the Easton Kingdom can return to its rightful owners.

Hey!

The rocks and the spiders really WERE AT WAR!

SUU apologies to Mario for hiding her true form from him.

Which by the way the writer uses the Japanese word SUGATA for form.

SU-Gata!

Get it!?!

Eh ha ha ha ha uhhhh.. ok well it's hilarious to me!

let's go on to Chapter 4,

The Final Chapter is the Chai Kingdom!

At the entrance to Chai Mario and Mecha Kuribo, who is really Princess Peach, come across

a sign that says The wedding of Katanga and Daisy will be held today at Tatanga's mountain

top tower.

Everyone's invited!

So they take off to stop Katanga before it's too late!

But of course enemies are in the way!

This time its PYONPI.

They try to escape but Mecha Kuribo gets a flat tire and cant escape!

Mario Piggybacks Mecha Kuribo and escapes.

They come to a town and meet NANCHAN.

He takes them to his home, the imperial palaces, which looks like a Chinese restaurant inside.

Peach goes hungry as after all, robots can't eat!

But Peach as Mecha Kuribo does manage to sneak a can of coffee when no one is looking.

After they eat Mario talks to NANCHAN's father about how to reach the tower in time

to stop the wedding.

He replies he could take the SKY POP, which he owns and is a master pilot of.

As part of the preparation, Mario is told that the house is protected by this sacred

sign board, which keeps PYONPIS, and other evil away.

So Mecha Kuribo suggests that they make a second one which will protect them as they

go to the tower.

Then some rice is brought to Mecha Kuribo.

Peach takes off the helmet and proceeds to eat, yet she hears Mario and NANCHAN talk

about why the rice is needed and NANCHAN says that it weakens the PYONPIS.

They take the sign down to copy the writing on it and then a Goombo appears at the door

saying he is good hearted Goombo and needs the sign to rid himself of a PYONPI thats

chasing him.

But as soon as they open the door, the Goombo Takes the sign and destroys it!

Immediately PYONPIS swarm the house and tear it down.

The family also gets bit by the PYONPIS which turn them into zombies.

Pyon means jump and so its like saying a jumping zombie, get it?

If Mario gets bit, well its game over, no pun intended.

He calls out for Mecha Kuribo to help.

Mario falls through the door and breaks Mocha Kuribo, which finally gives us the reveal

that it was Peach all along!

Mario is actually not mad!

But grateful that Peach was there the whole time to journey with him.

I bet he wish he hadn't said it was no place for girls, back on page 24.

She urges Mario to take the sign and run to the airport!

It would be her final act of kindness, as she too has been bit and has become a PYONPI

herself!

Enemies on the ground alert forces above that Mario is on his way.

Mario dogfights his way up the mountain, while the wedding vows for Daisy and Tatanga are

underway.

Mario crashes through the castle walls and interrupts the wedding kiss, which of course

is what makes the marriage legally binding and official.

Mario plows into Tatanga who ends up kissing Father Goombo.

But the battle is far from over as Tatanga gets in his space ship for the final showdown

with Mario.

So get this!

The missile controls in the Sky Pop are a GameBoy's control scheme.

Mario says to hold down A for Rapid fire and to push B as fast as he can.

As the showdown continues Mario is pushing the B button so fast his fingers are bleeding!!

Enough missiles hit Tatiana's spaceship that it explodes in a giant fireball, killing

the self proclaimed Emperor of the Universe!

Tatanga's death breaks the zombie spell!

Peach and all these people of the Chai Kingdom are freed.

Mario scoops up Princess Daisy in the Sky Pop and as a reward for his bravery gives

him a big thank you kiss!

But… theres still some gun fire in the air which hits the Sky Pop.

It was Peach…!

And so ends the story of Super Mario Land.

A tale of bravery, exotic lands, Bizarre love triangles, and Hulkamania running wild, that

would NEVER be in the game, but its all in books!

MCAS Iwakuni Single Marine Program volunteers continue with neighborly support in Japan - Duration: 1:35.

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni's Single Marine Program continued helping out their

Japanese neighbors by gathering busloads of volunteers to help clean up rural areas in

Shunan, a small town near Iwakuni, after recent floods and mudslides.

1st Lieutenant Matthew Brattain, a lead volunteer with the S-M-P, says volunteers help out because

it's what neighbors do.

"We're happy to help.

We're happy to be out here and to have the opportunity to render aid, to render assistance

and be good neighbors.

This is just neighbors helping neighbors and we're extremely grateful for the opportunity to help."

On the evening of July 6 and into the next morning, Iwakuni and some surrounding cities

were devastated by a torrential downpour that damaged and flooded many homes and roads.

In response to the devastation, three hundred ninety-seven Single Marine Program volunteers

stepped up during the course of July 12th to 22nd to help clean homes and property in

the communities of Shunan, Shuto, Hikari, and other areas near Iwakuni.

Lance Corporal Paul Allen, a volunteer, says volunteering makes him feel like he's doing something right.

"I think the Japanese feel very happy about this - almost like in a way that we are doing

something right even though we don't have to do it.

They're not paying for it and we're not doing it just for like hours or anything we're

doing it from the kindness of our heart."

The Single Marine Program continues their efforts to help clean and beautify the local

Japanese community, whether it be a beach, a park,

or someone's home when it's damaged from weather.

21st Japan Festival = Foods + Shogi + HUGE lines (ENGLISH SUBTITLES) • Vivian Uru - Duration: 10:42.

Hey guys, genki?

This is Vivian and today I'd like to bring you with me to the Japan Festival!

YAY!

Looks like they will celebrate the 110 years of Japanese immigration here in Brazil.

There is going to be tons of attractions,,

and my friend {big kiss to you, Ti!}, took a part on this event to play with her orchestra for princess Mako.

I truly wanted to see it but unfortunately, the tickets were sold out :(

But let's check what kind of cool things we'll get to see at this event!

I'd like to apologize in advance for the audio of this video,, as it'll sound kinda odd at a few parts..

My cellphone is currently unable to record so I had to take my mother's phone to shoot this event.

But don't worry cause you still can watch it normally, okay?

Here's the vlog!

Guys! Look at all those people in the line!

Almost 20 minutes in the line,, the quantity of people who is on this event is just surreal!

Yaaay! Finally!

I'll be able to buy the ticket!

Woohoo!

Got my ticket here! :]

I haven't been to this festival for like 3~4 years!

And I confess that I'm super curious to check it out!

Especially this year since it will be the special immigration edition after all!

But just looking at those huge amount of people,,

I can see that it has turned into something much more bigger than I have imagined!

While our friend ain't here,,

we are going to wonder around just a little bit and see if we can find the food court as we are QUITE hungry!

The tea ceremony was happening close to the entrance.

And I find it so cool cause they have a proper ritual to prepare the tea.

This tea is has a stronger and bitter taste,,

but if you drink it while eating some Japanese sweets, the balance is perfect.

Meanwhile, our friend has arrived and we were ready to wonder around the fest for real!

V: We can go now! E: Oh! Now I understand why the yellow and red on the origami.

V: Yeah, it's Brazil and Japan!

G: What kind of exhibition they have?

E: There's nothing interesting,,

V: Oh give me a break..

E: Well,, there's Honda, Bradesco,,

V: There's also Sony and..

G: So there's more big companies exhibitions?

G: There's no artists doing exhibitions or performances?

E: There's those kind of things too. V: Not to mention that there's a place where you can learn how to play Shogi. E: Shogi.

G: What is that? V: It's the Japanese chess!

G: Oooh! E: I want to go there. V: I know, right?

G: Let's go there then! V: There's lots of cool things to do!

G: What is the difference between origami and kirigami?

G: Is this kirigami? Like this one?

E: Is this kirigami, love? V: Kirigami? Nope.

V: So what do you guys think? Do you think that we will be able to eat any time soon? xP

V: SoOo many people here {it's freaking HOT!}

V: That's the one I chose!

V: Kitakata Ramen!

V: Still in the line and almost starving,,

V: we are just here making funny faces hoping that time would pass by quicker xP

V: So guys! I was planning to buy different kinds of Japanese foods to show you and to taste them,,

V: but as you can see,, it's freaking crowded here and I don't think that I'll be able to do that :(

V: But let's start with ramen and gyouza to see it's tasty, okay? =]

V: Gian is so hungry that he is starting to eat the papers! G: Ramen and gyouza are done!

V: It's okay guys, he is just hungry! xD

V: Tadaaan!

V: After 1.000 years of waiting,,

V: it's finally here! Woohoo!

V: Kitakata ramen!

V: Gyouza!

V: Itadakimasu!

V: Let's taste the gyouza first!

V: Let's taste it then!

V: Gyouzaaa! <3

V: Yup, it's yummy!

V: The filling is tasting really delicious!

E: Not to mention that we all are super hungry,,

V: Yeah, it could be that too.

E: We'd find even a stone yummy. V: Aaaah...

V: I was going to say that...

V: How do you call it?

E: Gyouza? V: Crust?

V: It's not crust, right?

E: Wrapper? V: *nods*

V: The gyouza wrapper is very thin and the filling is delicious!

V: I liked it a lot!

E: Where did Gian go? Did he forget the chopsticks?

E: Ohashi?

E: Do you want to shoot more?

V: Ramen!

E: What?

E: Oh boy..

V: Kitakata ramen!

V: Gee,, it's quite hot!

V: It's so hot that I can't taste..

E: Did you react?

V: Well,, I was trying to say my thoughts but you were shooting the ramen lol!

V: But yeah, it is so hot that it is kinda hard to taste the flavor of the soup..

V: Well guys, I just finished to eat the ramen,,

V: it was okay, I could eat it without a problem..

V: And now it's time to eat the dessert! <3

V: Look at what I've bought!

V: Woohooo!

V: It's a drink that I used to love to have while I was in Japan!

V: Let's see if this one here tastes the same!

V: Melon soda! <3

E: Melon Soda!

E: Yes! Yes!

E: You have to say: How delicious is that!

V: Heck no!

V: Let's see if this one tastes the same as the one I used to drink in Japan!

E: Lol it doesn't!

E: You are screwed!

E: Poor you!

V: It's definitely not the same! E: Did you think that it was going to be easy to find?

V: It's not the same x3

V: Oh well,, I was so sure that I was going to drink a delicious melon soda today.. I was wrong though :(

V: Gian ordered Kibidango!

V: Which is the sweet that Momotaro used to have.

V: Let's go, Gian! Let's see your thoughts about this one!

G: I'll be as strong as Momotaro!

V: Now it's time to wonder around and check the stands!

V: There's so many options that it makes me even more indecisive x3

V: Stands and more stands!

V: And the time that I was longing to learn shogi finally came!

V: Shogi is the Japanese chess by the way!

V: They were teaching Igo as well which I'd love to learn.

V: But I had so much fun playing shogi there!

V: Even though I lived in Japan for such a long time,, Who'd knew that I'd learn to play shogi in Brazil?! xD

V: I'd like to thank the young sensei who were so patient to teach us how to play!

V: If you got curious to know more about it,,

V: I'll leave the link of the Brazilian Shogi Assossiation in the description box, okay?

V: And who knows? Maybe one day I could shoot a video about shogi to you all =]

Well,, before we go home, I want to buy some sweets so I can go home happy xD

V: I wanted to buy some choux cream but for my sadness,, it has sold out (T_T)

V: It's 7pm right now and I guess we have seen all the things we had to see..

V: but there was still so many things that we didn't get to see.. right, hun? E: Yep.

V: Like we missed the shows and performances for example,,

V: there was so many people that we didn't manage to enter the arena x3

V: Gee.. you guys have no idea how crowded this festival was!

V: There's so much more people this year comparing to the previous ones..

E: Yeah, comparing to a couple of years ago.. V: Yes.

V: It has been a couple of years that we haven't attended to the Japan festival,,

V: so I didn't imagine that this festival had grown to this scale!

V: We didn't get to see many things because there was a huge line wherever we go..

V: But the highlight for me today was the shogi class with the nice teacher!

V: Right, hun? E: Yeah!

V: For me, it was definitely the coolest part of this event!

V: Unfortunately I didn't get to see my friend performing :( but I hope someone will upload their performance!

V: What else?

V: I guess that's all. The food was.. E: Okay..

V: Yes. The food was okay.. it wasn't super delicious but it didn't have a bad taste as well..

V: The melon soda did disappoint me a little bit though..

V: Let's see how things will be next time around! Or maybe I'll be able to have a decent one only in Japan x/

V: Well guys, that's all for today's video!

V: Thank you so much for watching! I hope to see you all in the next video, okay! ^^

V: Big kisses and mata ne~! <3

V: Thank you Japan Fest! See you next year!

V: See you next year! E: Bye bye!

V: Did you see? There's a huge line even at the time to go home lol xP

V: Aaargh,, I wanna go hooome! x3

G1 CLIMAX 28 Night8 (July 26) - Post-match Interview [9th match] - Duration: 6:24.

Goodbye...

And good… night.

Bang.

Followers Control My Day In Japan - Duration: 7:21.

So right now we are in front of a very big mall...

And there's like a parking lot only for taxi drivers that are waiting for customers.

LoOk At aLL thEsE tAXis!

Was it funny?

"Jojojo..." (Oh yeah in Czech)

Jojojo...

That means: そうだね

Hey guys, so as a lot of you know, the last month of my Japanese exchange has started

and I just thought that in this last month, I could give one day for you guys to decide; What should I do?

Yo wassup guys, so tomorrow all of my decisions will be made by you guys here on Instagram, so please be ready for a lot of polls!

The story is going up and now it's time to wait for the new day...

So it's the morning, about 6:40, um five minutes ago I asked you guys about my first decision

If I should brush my teeth before breakfast or after breakfast. The majority of you guys voted after breakfast, which is honestly something that I find so gross to do

Wait, you don't actually care about this. You want to see a fun vlog already, not me brushing my teeth

So to sum up I asked everyone if I should stay home or go on an adventure

Then you guys submitted your suggestions from which I picked Kyoto and Tokyo

Even though both of these places are more than six hours far away from my city

Thankfully you guys picked the closer one, Tokyo, and so we were on our way

I'm not gonna lie. The trip was long approximately six hours in the car

But I was constantly telling myself that I should be "happy" that you guys didn't choose Kyoto

Because a trip to Kyoto would be over nine hours long

Okay, so right now we made a little stop. Right there is kind of a highway station where a lot of people buy food

and they can... not only to buy snacks but also to buy lunch

"souvenirs..."

And souvenirs, so I'm here with Umi and his parents

uhh and yeah! we just finished eating and now we're going to Tokyo!

So we're 15 minutes in Tokyo and we're still on the highway

The high building over there is Tokyo Skytree where I really want to go, but after all that's up to you guys

Okay guys, so right now, I'm at the Tokyo subway (*city train). And I guess now you decide where I should go

And you guys voted for Akihabara! By the way I honestly didn't know that there's train City public transport in Tokyo

...and I also didn't want anyone to notice that I'm filming there

To be completely honest with you guys if I didn't have my host family here I probably would get lost in the first 15 minutes.

Yeah but, it's easy to just follow them...

I took so many pictures of this city, but you guys also wanted me to take a picture

So I used this moment to celebrate my channel surpassing 20.000 subscribers

So as you can see now guys we are in Akihabara and now I just wanna, for a bit, I want to take a break from all the polls on IG.

Because, I really want to enjoy this place as much as I can so...

Also, this is like my first time doing a video in front of so many people so I'm gonna be kind of nervous throughout this whole video

But, yeah, I'll do my best to show you the best parts of Akihabara

But this definitely isn't one of them, that's just a weeb restaurant where I had pasta because I got hungry

So right now we're gonna go to a little place called Kotobukiya, which is as I heard the best souvenir shop here in Akihabara

And also this is one of the shops where you can buy Ghibli merchandise

That's why I asked you guys if I should buy manga or other souvenirs

Again, I didn't really film that much here because I really wanted to take my time to look at everything

and then of course I wanted to try as many gachapon machines as possible!

But then there was another decision to make, I wanted to spend more time in Akihabara but I also wanted to go to other places in Tokyo

Alright guys, so now the question is if we should go further to Akihabara or if we should go to another adventure in Tokyo.

So... please vote!

And so I went to Instagram again and asked you guys one last time; if you could choose one place in Tokyo

Where would you go?

There were so many great responses, but then there was one where I instantly knew I have to go, because of my childhood...

THE POKEMON CENTER!

Okay guys so we are with Umi already near the Pokemon Center

So... It's the first time for me and also the first time for Umi

There are literally so many things that I want to buy and I don't know where to start

Just like, this place is huge. So for example, I really like these plushies but they always take so much space in the suitcase

So I don't know if I'll be able to buy any of them. Maybe maybe one plushie. Maybe, maybe one

Ok guys, so for the first time in my life while shopping I had to pick a shopping cart because I think I'm gonna buy...

The most stuff from Japan is going to be from the Pokemon Center :D

So turns out I didn't buy that much I'm not going to show you guys what I bought but...

That's gonna be one another video itself.

So Umi got some nose blood, but...?

"I don't care!"

"Just enjoy your life, have a meaning of your life."

Enjoy your life, have a meaning of your life. I think that's a beautiful way how to end this video.

So for some reason when I was filming that part, I just thought that it was enough to end the video

so I just want to add: thank you so much for watching and to everyone who participated in the polls, and I'll see you next week in a new video. Bye

Newcastle have completed the £10million capture of Japan forward Yoshinori Muto from Mainz - subject to him receiving a work permit to play in England

The two clubs earlier this week agreed terms for the 26-year-old, who impressed during the World Cup as his country reached the round of 16

And on Friday night, Newcastle released a statement to confirm the player has been on Tyneside completing a medical and finalising personal terms

Muto joined Mainz from FC Tokyo in 2015 for £2.5m and has scored 20 goals in 66 Bundesliga matches to prove himself in European football

He also has two goals in 25 international appearances for Japan, and started their World Cup match against Poland

Provided he is granted a permit, Muto will provide attacking competition for the likes of Ayoze Perez and Joselu on Tyneside

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez also welcomed new signing Fabian Schar to Newcastle on Thursday in a £3

When Anime Exposes the REAL Japan - The Truth About Bullying & Suicide - Duration: 13:16.

Has watching anime ever made you fall in love with Japan?

Have images of summer festivals and cherry blossoms made you want to visit or even move

here?

Of course, it's happened to all of us.

A lot of the anime that we watch has a great way of highlighting Japan's charm, but there

are some anime that paint a very different, more realistic picture of Japanese culture.

That's what we're going to focus on today...on Brotakuza

Konnichiwa, snitches.

I'm B, and this is Brotakuza.

Okay, so I was browsing through YouTube one day when I came across this video that listed

10 ways Japan is 10 years ahead of the rest of the world.

Now, this guy was just a tourist, and many of the topics he discussed were related to

technology, and they were all valid.

I mean, future toilets, paying for food with your train pass, arcade skyscrapers and immaculate

public transportation are all great and a big reason why I absolutely love living here.

However, these are matters of convenience, and convenience doesn't always equal progress.

In fact, depending on who you ask, ie, actual Japanese people, there are certain aspects

of the culture here that a lot of people feel places Japan 30 to 40 years BEHIND the rest

of the world.

I've been living and working in Japan full time for a year now after visiting off and

on for 3 months at a time for a year and a half, and while that's still a relatively

short amount of time, it's enough to say that some of the smudges on this pretty picture

we paint of Japan have started to show.

And being aware of these things, I started to notice more frequently how some of these

flaws are portrayed in anime.

People in Japan typically aren't anywhere close to being as socially or politically

outspoken as America or other countries, but every so often you'll find social or political

commentary thrown into different forms of Japanese media that call attention to serious

issues, sometimes subtly, and sometimes very forthright.

There are quite a few of these issues, from gender inequality to work culture, that anime

either speaks out against or outright reinforces, and I hope to discuss more on these in the

future, but today I'll be talking about some anime that address and criticize a specific

part of Japanese culture that we often don't notice in the anime or even realize exists,

and that's the very real issue of bullying in Japan.

But before I get started, I just want to emphasize that this is in no way meant to be a hit piece

on Japan.

I live here, and I love it here.

For me personally, the good outweighs the bad exponentially.

It has its endearing quirks that make you love it a little more each day.

But one thing a lot of people do, and I've been guilty of this myself, is we see the

side of Japan that's marketed to us and we romanticize it as a perfect cartoonish utopia

that just has everything figured out, which simply isn't the case.

The danger of this view is that, for some foreigners who have moved here in the past,

they find themselves confronted with the realities of everyday life in Japan, and it completely

obliterates their preconceived notion of what it would be like to live here.

Some of the customs and cultural norms just don't jibe with their personality and they

quickly find themselves on a return trip back to their home country.

So I think taking a realistic view of these things helps with understanding that no place

is perfect.

not Japan, certainly not America, not anywhere.

And going in with a more informed impression of life here will make for a better experience

should you decide to move to Japan in the future.

Sorry for the long intro, let's get into the anime.

First I want to talk about Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War.

Among all the slice of life school anime that we've come to enjoy, where the girl is secretly

pining after the male classmate of her dreams, or vice versa, Aura focuses on what's really

happening in schools in Japan by taking an unabashed look at the epidemic of bullying.

Of course there's bullying all over the world, but Japan's bullying issue is a particularly

unique because of the way its carried out.

Along with other movies like A Silent Voice, Aura is an anime film that takes one of the

most honest looks at this phenomenon without sugarcoating the issue.

And the issue is really a cultural one.

Modern Japanese culture is rooted in a form of collectivism that reinforces uniformity

disguised as unity.

Japan is an incredibly clean, safe and peaceful society, but it comes at a high cost of individuality.

Theres a Japanese saying that's pretty well known to many foreigners who find themselves

having trouble coping with the homogenous nature of its society, and it goes: "The nail

that sticks out gets hammered down.?

And this philosophy apparently is put into practice very early, as seen in 'Aura.'

This anime is about a young high school student named Ichirou Satou, who had a wild imagination

in middle school, always pretending he was a hero named Maryuuin Kougha.

It was this eccentric behavior that made him an easy and frequent target for bullying.

From all the bullying and hammering he received from being a nail that stuck out a little

too much, Ichirou tries to put that life behind him in an effort to live a "normal" life in

high school.

So now Ichirou is doing his best to NOT standout, and live a peaceful life by blending in...which

again comes at the high cost of his individuality.

Unfortunately for Ichirou, however, his teacher assigns him to look after a female classmate

named Ryoko whose personality is very similar to his, as she also likes to fantasize about

being someone else and has her own delusions of grandeur as well.

Ichirou rejects the notion of befriending her, as it opens way too many wounds of his

own past and the pain and suffering that his entire family endured as a result of it, and

the chances of that past being exposed to his new classmates is just too much for Ichirou.

In fact, upon seeing how similar Ryoko is to Ichirou, Ichirou's sister even orders the

girl to stay away from him after learning about her and seeing how badly she's been

bullied.

Japanese kids can find themselves the targets of bullying for being the slightest bit different

from the group.

In America, a bully victim is typically targeted by 1 to 3 people, whereas in Japan, it's not

uncommon for a child to be targeted by his entire class, and teachers are notorious for

being either unable or flat out unwilling to do anything to remedy the situation.

Bullying can range from physical assault, to constant verbal abuse, to even being completely

shunned by literally everyone.

In fact, 80% of bullying among school students in Japan qualifies as ?collective?

violence, meaning it's the entire classroom against a single victim, and 90% of these

cases are considered ongoing, lasting more than a week.

Despite its efforts, Japanese governments have been pretty ineffective in trying to

fix the epidemic, which is especially sad when you take into account Japan's suicide

issue.

This is also addressed in the anime.

So the bullying of Ryoko intensifies, all the way up to the point where she wants to

leave this world and go to what she calls the "other world," which is referring to the

fantasy land that she believes her alter ego is from, but it's definitely conveyed in the

film that her means of reaching that place is in the form of suicide.

Now, Japan has been in the top 10 countries for suicide rates in the world for decades.

For many years they were #2 only to South Korea.

Over the last 8 years, however, overall suicide rates have experienced a consistent decline,

which sounds good at first...But it's not all good news, though, as suicide rates for

kids 19 years old and under has actually increased during that time.

That is an incredibly heartbreaking statistic.

The new school year begins in April and goes until summer break in late July, which lasts

about 8 weeks.

This gives kids suffering from the pains of school life a much needed break from the stress.

but that month off from school apparently isn't nearly long enough, as the beginning

of the second semester, which is Sept 1, is known as the deadliest day for Japanese teens

because it's the day when the majority of students kill themselves.

Just the thought of having to return to such a toxic environment is too much for some kids

that it drives them to suicide.

Fortunately for Ryoko, although it's unfortunate that this isn't the case for most students

in real life, Ichirou saw in her who HE really is inside and couldn't allow Ryoko to continue

suffering alone, and actually put his secret past on full display for all to see in an

effort to save her life, by showing her that it's okay to be different, it's okay to be

unique, it's okay to be an individual, and that we all to an extent hide those quirky

sides of ourselves from other for fear of ridicule.

I really enjoyed this film for the simple message of not only accepting people for their

differences, but embracing them and using those differences to teach us a lot about

ourselves as well.

But there was another more recent anime film that I felt tackled the subject in a much

more direct and aggressive manner by exploring the long-term effects of bullying, not just

from the perspective of the victim, but also from the perspective of the bully, the families

involved, and other bystanders and co-conspirators.

That film was Koe no Katachi, also known as A Silent Voice, or the shape of voice.

So this film was about a guy named Ishida who, along with his friends, mercilessly bullied

a new deaf student named Shoko in elementary school.

Despite her outgoing personality and wanting to befriend everyone, they would rip her hearing

aid out, causing her ear to bleed, throw her books into the water, along with other forms

of physical bullying.

This led to the young girl being pulled from school by her mother, which led to the ringleader

Ishida getting into some serious trouble, resulting in him receiving a Bully label that

would follow him through middle school and into high school where he was now the social

outcast, unable to even look his classmates in the eye, and contemplating suicide himself.

Having now experienced the shoe being on the other foot, Ishida sets out to be a better

person, even befriending a fellow outcast named Nagatsuka, who was probably my favorite

character in this film.

But his ultimate goal is to make amends with his former victim, even going so far as to

learn sign language to better communicate with her.

This attempt at reconciliation reopens some old wounds, particularly for a girl named

Naoka who was a part of the bullying group and who tries to sabotage Ishida and Shoko's

newfound friendship by harassing Shoko as cruelly as she did in elementary school, and

conveying to Shoko that SHE was the bad person for destroying their lives as children by

getting Ishida in trouble for being a bully and that things would have been better if

she never came to their school all those years ago in the first place.

Shoko really takes Naoka's words to heart, and begins to hate herself, and attempts to

take her own life, but this attempt is thwarted by Ishida luckily being in the right place

at the right time, and landing himself in the hospital in the process.

This culminates in everyone related to the situation from elementary school to take a

hard look at themselves, from the parents and family of the children, to the people

involved in the bullying directly, to even friends who saw these things taking place

and were too fearful or self-centered to do anything to stop it.

The effects of what looks like a typical bully situation on the surface prove to run quite

deep, and I applaud A Silent Voice for exploring them with such depth and detail.

I applaud both of these films.

Aura for its message of acceptance, and A Silent Voice for its running theme of the

importance of self-love, the lack of which can lead to some potentially dire consequences,

as shown with Shoko, Ishida, and especially Naoka who was just a big ball of hate.

Of course there are plenty anime that show kids being bullied, but usually its handled

in a very blasé manner, I guess because it's so normal here, but I'm really glad to see

two films place the issue front and center to spotlight how unacceptable it is and just

what these kids are going through.

Because honestly, 13 year olds even thinking of suicide is a huge problem and I hope to

see it addressed with a little more seriousness here in Japan, because these kids are truly

suffering quietly, and something has to change.

Now I want to know what you think.

Have you seen either of these films?

Did you like them, did you hate them, did you think they were too sensationalized?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Don't forget to like and subscribe, and I'll see you next time, but until then...
