Jose Mourinho reveals how long Man Utd star Romelu Lukaku will be out for
The Manchester United star was stretchered off after just 10 minutes of the Red Devils' draw with Southampton this evening. Lukaku suffered a clash of heads with Saints centre-back Wesley Hoedt and needed oxygen on the pitch.
And Mourinho has confirmed that the Belgium international will be sidelined for at least two games.
"When you see a player leave the pitch like he did, it is usually two games at least," Mourinho told BT Sport after United's draw with Southampton.
That rules Lukaku out of United's clashes with Everton on Monday and their FA Cup tie with Derby on Friday January 5. Mourinho also revealed that superstar Swede Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be sidelined for a month.
When asked about Ibrahimovic's absence from United's squad against the Saints, Mourinho told BT Sport: "Zlatan - one month out." United fell to third in the Premier League table today, with Chelsea leapfrogging the Red Devils.
Mourinho's men have now drawn three consecutive league games. United need to beat Everton on Monday in the late kick-off to have a chance of going ahead of Chelsea and closing the gap on runaway league leaders Manchester City.
