>> Hi. I'm Xavier Pereira from Microsoft Services,

and I'm very pleased to welcome today David Cox.

David, can I let you introduce yourself please?

>> Certainly, thank you, Xavier. My name is David Cox.

I'm a Digital Advisor with Microsoft Digital.

>> So we know a lot of customers

are thinking about digital transformation,

and a lot of

the digital advisors are

engaged on those digital transformation.

What is the role of digital advisor in that context?

>> Thank you. Well, when we think about

digital transformation the key word

is transformation, not digital.

The transformation piece comes first,

and then the digital is the enabling technology

that helped that transformation be successful.

So our role is to help

our customers transform using technology.

>> Value is key in this context, I'm assuming.

So, can you share some experiences of

how you deliver that value?

Maybe you have a couple of customers in

a specific industry you can share examples with us?

>> I'd be delighted to. So, value

is really all about, in many ways,

creating new value within the marketplace,

not replicating what is already there.

So a great example is Clear Bank that has

transformed clearing in the United Kingdom.

Well, it used to be the case that clearing was

ton of payments through batch processing,

it could take three days to clear a payment.

But you and I want our payments to

take place instantly, right?

Then what Clear Bank did,

is they brought technology to play using Microsoft Azure,

that would enable instant transactions

to take place in real time instead of batch.

>> So we know digital transformation

is quite often the technology conversation,

but it's also behind a connection from people to people

to improve the customer

experience on part of the employee.

What's your point of view about the change

which is happening from a cultural point of view?

>> We're really transitioning to

a fearless culture that's really

about enabling people to be themselves.

That's the best way to attract

the right talent and to get

them to perform in the best way.

And it really goes down at its heart to diversity,

not just diversity of background,

but diversity of thinking so you

can really bring the best ideas to the table.

>> Thank you very much for sharing your experience.

Once again, if you want to know more about

digital transformation you can

join us on our website, microsoft.com/services.

Thank you.

McCarty Weight Loss Center - Surgery Options & Services - Duration: 2:06.

- Weight loss surgery has come a long ways.

From how it was 20 years ago.

Now with this practice in the last few years,

I've seen it evolve so much to where we

have, everyone knows about the Mini Sleeve.

People are finding it online.

People from other states are coming.

I think we've had patients from almost 35 other states

and one international patient come

for the Mini Sleeve specifically.

Our practice has grown to where we have more people

that can help patients and check their insurance.

We have a dietician that can give them full support.

We have our own vitamin line now,

where we can support patients

from a nutritional standpoint for after surgery.

We also have a lot of social media support for patients.

We have recipes, workout tips, Pinterest, Facebook.

A lot of different social options

for patients to stay connected to our practice.

Even if they're out of state or out of town.

The biggest way that the McCarty Weight Loss Center

stands out above anyone else,

obviously the number one would

be the Mini Sleeve because it's trademarked.

I think number two is probably

our compassion for our patients.

How we truly do see them through

their whole weight-loss journey.

We know that each one is going through a different journey

and so we try to stay right there

with them and guide them the right way.

Some people struggle with their weight

for other reasons and have other medical conditions

and so we try to cater to each one

specifically and individually.

With the office environment here

at the McCarty Weight Loss Center,

some of our patients are more accommodated

with a larger chair and so all of our chairs

here are bariatric friendly.

Our lab, our phlebotomy chair,

all of the chairs in our nutrition rooms, our lobby,

everywhere you go in this office

there is a bariatric friendly chair, just in case.

We don't ever want anyone to feel uncomfortable

or unwelcome, so we try to structure our office

to where it's very warm and inviting to each patient.

2016-17 Annual Report | Health Services Message from the interim President and CEO - Duration: 2:34.

In 2016 and 17, the WRHA took the initial steps

on a journey that will see the most significant change

to regional health-care delivery in a generation.

As interim President and CEO,

it's my pleasure to report on our progress

and to share our plans for the first phase of changes

that will come into effect this fall.

For too long, Winnipeg has lagged behind the national average

on a number of key measures,

most notably wait times for emergency services

and lengths of stay in hospital.

Those challenges impact the entire continuum of care,

diminishing our ability to serve our community

and threatening the sustainability of our system.

The changes we are undertaking are necessary, and long overdue.

And so, in line with recommendations in reports

by Dr. David Peachey and the consulting firm KPMG,

we have engaged clinical experts across the system

in designing a framework for health-care delivery

that better serves our patients,

streamlining processes

and removing roadblocks to quality care.

These changes were announced by my predecessor,

Milton Sussman, in April of 2017.

On behalf of our entire organization,

I want to extend our sincere thanks

to Milton for his wisdom and direction

in setting our course and, in particular,

for his dedication to both patients and staff across the region.

I want to thank our Board of Directors, as well,

for their unwavering support and guidance in our efforts

to enhance and sustain quality health care in Manitoba.

All of this change brings with it

a considerable amount of disruption.

It's stressful and it's hard.

But our staff remain focused on providing the best care possible

contributing to discussions

and challenging the status quo.

I want to acknowledge and thank them

– all 28,000 –

for their dedication and professionalism

throughout this process.

Since taking on my role in June 2017,

I have had the opportunity to meet with staff across the region,

to hear their feedback and their ideas for improvement.

Change of this magnitude does not happen

without a sense of shared purpose

and commitment to those we serve.

I'm intensely proud of our people,

their conviction

and their willingness to participate fully in meaningful,

transformative change

– for ourselves and generations to come.

Thank you.
