We got up this morning, zipped down here on 95 to
get down to the Richmond area.
Hi, there Mr. Masse, how are ya?
Mr. Secretary.
How you doing?
This is my nurse, great to meet you, Carolyn Davis.
Hey.
(music)
I wanted to learn a little bit about sort of your
experience with the program.
The program makes me independent in a way that I
know I have somebody watching my back.
It allows me make decisions who I want have for a nurse;
who is best suited for me in the situation I have.
The Veterans Directed Home and Community Based Services
Program really works because it's directed by Veterans.
It gives them a lot of options so they can stay in
their homes and do what they want to do.
When you actually meet somebody like Mr. Masse,
it really brings it home.
I mean it really, you see sort of the way that this
program can really benefit people.
Hi, I'm a caregiver
O.K, great
It was really an honor for me to be here and meet all
the people who have served our country so bravely and
so well; to hear from the people directly kind of get
out of the paper pit in Washington and actually meet
the people where they are.
