Japan, South Korea warn of possible North Korean military activity on October 10

There are rising concerns that North Korea may launch another missile test next month, reports USA Today.

Officials from Japan and South Korea have issued separate warnings about October 10 in particular; it is the anniversary of the founding of North Korea's ruling party.

"I understand it is an important anniversary for North Korea. We would like to maintain a sense of urgency," Japanese Defense Minister Itsunori Onodera said recently, according to Reuters.

South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha reportedly indicated the regime is expected to take "some sort of action" that day.

These suspicions are based on North Korea's past pattern of making a military show of force around important dates -- its very first nuclear test occurred on October 9, 2006.

And in 2016, another nuclear test was conducted on September 9 to mark the country's founding.

As the region tries to anticipate the next big event, the heated rhetoric between the regime and the U.S. Last week, President Trump tweeted, "Just heard Foreign Minister of North Korea speak at U.N.

If he echoes thoughts of Little Rocket Man, they won't be around much longer!".

The isolated nation has since fired back, claiming that 4. 7 million citizens have expressed an interest in joining the military in the wake of Trump's threat of total destruction.

North Korea will be a focus of Trump's extended trip to Asia in November.
