It starts with an announcement (officially).
But generally, it started way before with rumors.There are always rumors preceding transformation
announcements.
The rumors may be as a result of confidences, as a result of poor performance, or because
other changes are happening elsewhere in the company or on the market.
You can be a Manager with a team and afraid that your team or your department be shut
down or downsized.
It happened to Karel.
Karel works overnight to keep his unit afloat.
After a long day in the office, spending much time in meetings, negotiations, he also stays
late in the office to work.
As if that was not enough, Karel takes more work at home and often spent his vast majority
of the nights on it.
His family barely gets to spend time with him.
When Karel is with them, most of the time, his mind is still focused on work.
Whether he is tired or not, Karel just ignores that.
It was one of these mornings where he woke-up already tired and went to work.
There his manager broke the announced to him, that his business unit will be reassigned
and relocated to another country.
"This is the most efficient strategy for the company."
his manager said.
Karel has been with the company for over 10 years and has been a great and productive
employee.
But "things have changed" as his manager told him.
Many other middle-managers are affected by the decision as well.
There are several managers in the same units and who are directly affected.
Some have started searching other division of the company for new job positions.
There were as well, managers from other departments that were not affected but, they are already
worried about the future of their business units, and their own personal future.
As a reaction, they start playing the protectionism game and resisting any change implementation,
that may bring future losses in their division.
Fighting digital disruption is a lost war.
You are certain to burn out if you engage in it because it is a burning zone.
Instead, STOP THE BURN!
Get OUT of the burning zone and start another rewarding and innovative adventure!
The changes are happening no matter what we do.
The more we resist, the more exhausted we'll get and the more resentful we'll feel.
Those negatives feelings will make our conditions worse.

Start responding to the changes.
