Half of you will earn a spot in the live finale,

One shop will earn $200,000, a feature in "Inked" magazine,"

Self-Will - Duration: 8:19.

Self-will. The 12-Step recovery program Alcoholics Anonymous has helped millions

who struggle from alcoholism and then it's been applied to the families of

those who struggle with alcohol as well all kinds of other addictions, problems,

issues. It's an awesome program. Step Three says: "Made a decision to turn our

will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him." Okay, so it's a

very spiritual program. The founders of AA, Bill W. and Dr. Bob Smith, Bill Wilson

and Dr. Bob Smith, both got their sobriety with the Oxford Society--The

Oxford program. And they learned--which was a Christian program--and they learned

these principles there and then turned them into the Twelve Steps. But that

Step Three made a decision to turn our will and our lives

over to the care of God as we understood Him. It's very important because we first

admit in Step One that we're powerless over addiction, people, places, things,

ourselves--whatever that is. Believe in Step Two that God can bring us back to sanity

and restore us so we get that hope. And then Three, we turn over our will. When

you recognize that your will--your will, my will--has not made our lives better,

has not fixed things. As mine hasn't. When I get very stuck in my will, I actually

kind of make a mess of things. When I dig in my feet and stand there and say, "No,

it's going to be this way. It's going to happen this way," then usually things get

worse, especially if I'm imposing my self will onto other people and trying to

tell other people--my adult children, my ,my siblings, my in-laws--you know,

if I'm imposing my will onto them, then I'm pushing myself in a direction that's

only going to lead to disappointment and probably disharmony in relationships. So

in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, they kind of explained self-will

this way. This was out of the third edition,

1976, pages 60 through 61. Picture this okay as I read it: "Each person is like an

actor who wants to run the whole show; is forever trying to arrange the lights, the

ballet, the scenery, and the rest of the players in his own way. If only his

arrangements would stay put, if only people would do as he wished, the show

would be great. Everybody, including himself, would be pleased. Life would

be wonderful." So what do you think about that? Do you think okay, now we're talking

about this guy who's an actor in a show. He's primed. He's trying to be the

producer. He's trying to be the person that arranges the lights, the scenery, the

other players and the actor that's a part of the show is trying to run the

show. That's how we are in our lives. We are one individual, each of us is, I

shouldn't say we are one individual. each of us is one individual person. We can

only run the show if we can figure out how to do that for ourselves, for

yourself. We cannot tell other people how to run their lives and how to live. We

cannot arrange everybody around us and say, "You do this. You do that. You do this."

And I mean I've tried that even getting ready for a family vacation and trying

to get everybody to do their part is a nightmare. When you try to order everyone;

try to get people to actually live their lives the way you want them to live

their life doesn't work. So we've got to be careful. The Big Book talks about self-

will run riot. Self-will run riot. What that means is that when my self-will

just starts to riot and really you know gets in there and goes crazy, I really

mess things up. So when you think about yourself, well ask yourself: where is

my self-will focused? Is my self-will focused on making other people do what I

want them to do? Is my self-will being placed over God's will?

Is my self-will what I'm pushing for my life and my agenda with God or am I

willing to turn my will in my life over to God? Am I willing to ask God to let

His will be done? That was part of the Lord's Prayer: "Let your will be done on

earth as it is in heaven." Am I willing to say to God, "Your will be done in my life,

not mine. I'm willing to surrender, I'm willing to let go. I'm willing to give up

and to give this to you." That is what we should be doing. It's hard because our

self-will is strong and our self-will is entrenched and we've got a lot at stake,

so turning that will over to God, it's not easy, but it is something that does

need to be done. And it's a really important question to ask yourself: Is my

will turned over to God? You don't have to be in a 12-Step program to apply

these principles. These principles are very spiritual principles and they're

very helpful. So ask yourself that question: Have I surrendered my will in

this situation that I'm in in my life, in my marriage, have I surrendered my will

to God. I'm gonna read you the Third Step prayer of Alcoholics Anonymous just to

kind of wrap this up. "God, I offer myself to thee--to build

with me and to do with me as thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I

may better do thy will, Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may

bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy

Way of life. May I do Thy will always." So it says, "Take away my

difficulties that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of

Thy Power, Thy Love and Thy Way of life"-- not my power and my way of life. So James

4:13-17 puts it this way: "Now listen you who say today or tomorrow, we

will do this or that. We will go to this city or that city,

spend a year there, carry on business and make money. Why you don't even know what

will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that

appears for a little while and then vanishes" (poof, it's gone).

"Instead, you ought to say, 'If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or

that. As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is

evil. If anyone then knows the good they ought

to do and doesn't do it, it is sin for them. So what you ought to say is, 'If it

is God's will to do this and that, I will." Now that doesn't mean you have to get rigid

and crazy with that, but just that is your attitude. You need to be aware of

that attitude and aware of turning your w. Turn your will and your life over to God and be

open to doing His will rather than your own will so that self-will will not run

riot in your life and you won't sit there and become frustrated by trying to

arrange the play like you think it ought to go thank you for watching this video

Can't You Have Objective Moral Values Based on Mutual Self Interest? - Duration: 2:17.

So earlier you were explaining about the moral argument for the existence of God. I've heard

atheistic people speaking on that and saying that it's still internally consistent if

you swap out the existence of God for mutual self-preservation. So the idea

that you treat other people with respect because you won't be treated with

love and respect, and you show people you act in a positive way. You don't kill or rob

because you don't want to be killed or robbed. How do you respond to that?

Right the question was, "Can't you have objective moral values based upon a kind of mutual

self-interest; you don't rob and steal from others so that they won't rob and

steal from you? I think this just is to say that moral values and duties are not

objective. They're not binding. They're not normative. This is just

self-interest, and for the person who is sufficiently powerful, like a Kim Jong Un

or even Donald Trump or a Vladimir Putin, they can pretty much

ignore these constraints and do as they wish and live in self-indulgence. So this

is clearly not objective moral values and duties when you talk about mutual

self-interest. And think too, what if a person doesn't care about his

self-interest? What if he's uninterested in that? Maybe he'd just

assume die. What could you say to him to say, "Well, but you're objectively obligated to behave

this way. No! It's conditioned on whether or not he's got self-interest to survive.

So I think that just is to concede the first premise, that in the absence of God

there aren't any objective moral values and duties. Let me just clarify. By "objective," what I mean

is "valid and binding, independently whether anybody believes in them or not."

Health Potion | Episode 1: Self Care at Conventions - Duration: 17:13.

Hello and welcome to health potion the show about gaming and health

I'm Jaymii -I'm Karina

-and today we're going to be talking about conventions

so here are our top tips about self care

at conventions -Bring a friend

or find a friend So if you do have someone

who shares the same passions and interests as you

that's really great and they want to come

But you have to understand

even if they have the same interests as you going to conventions isn't everyone's cup

of tea -That's true

and I think it's really important to go off and do your own things

make sure you know you keep each in contact

have you know phone numbers but also

like the pocketeers group they often do a meet-up

and so if your friends

don't want to go to a convention don't make them go

find a friend on the pocketeers group and you can meet-up outside

and you can go in together as a group everyone wants to be there

and you can really work together to look after each other

-and even if you don't have like say the pocketeers group

some conventions, like GX have a time where you can like

actual space in a room where you can meet people in a safe place

Or I suggest heading over to table top gaming

beacause that's a really great way to

break the ice and not have to continually talk to someone

but still get to know them while playing a game

number two Bring a bag

-A backpack -yes

be careful bring the amount of like

obvioulsy like weight you can comfortably carry

don't like pack everything argggggh and then it's like really heavy

but definitly bring a bag to carry like

because you're either going to buy stuff or you're going to need a few supplies with

you so try and avoid getting a tote bag

bring a backpack if you can make it part of your cosplay

do it -so everyone is going to go

as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with those backpacks

because they are kind of awesome but yeah it helps distribute the weight

it takes pressure off your body it kind of helps your spine be nice and straight

you'll be able to walk for longer you'll be able to stand in line

and you're not going to get as fatigued as quickly

and then yeah you have enough room for all of your swag

and definitely enough room for water and snacks

-which is our next point

those food lines and the amount of money you have to pay

and the amount of options available are often very very limitied

so you need to be able to reguvinate on your schedule as well

because if you're time that you need to eat

and you're waiting in line for something you really really really love

got to have a snack put a few museli bars in

little packets- zip lock backs are my favourite thing

-yes, zip lock backs you can put not just fruit and nuts in there

you can put fresh fruit so you can get a manderine

peel the manderine you can have a banana in there

Stack your back nicely you can really kind of mix it up

as to what you want to put in there as well again, you know

museli bars are a great option you can get some really tastey ones

a little bit of a treat but definitely bring your own snacks

because you don't want to be wasting your precious con hours standing in line for

food when you can be standing in line to see

Jennifer Hale -and food is so expensive sometimes

-yes and the mark-up on the prices on things like water epecially

if you can avoid buying it 'cause usually one bottle will set you back

four or five bucks where as in the supermarket

you can get a giant one for a dollar -or bring your own proper water bottle

and save the enviroment at the same time exactly

stainless steel ones are really light when they are empty

and then sometimes they'll have rest rooms where you have access to water

and you can fill them up while you're there so you're not having to carry a full bottle

of water in

wear comfortable shoes

-Yes, unless it's part of your cosplay and you have a spare little pair of flats in your bag

I really wouldn't recommend wearing high heels

you're not going to get very far in them you know good comfy sneakers

So you can go all day and you're not worrying about

having to rest and having to put bandaids on

and foot fatigue

- my top tip is

if you're prone to getting blisters put the bandaids on when you put your shoes

on because that way you don't end up with blisters

-Yes, exactly exactly

Get a map mark on the map where you want to go

and also with your friend that you may have found

or the friends that you've brought who want to be there

mark on the map where you'd meet up if you do get lost

and you can't get in contact with each other because that's something that can be quite

important if someone's phone dies

or something like that happens you can have an "emergency meeting point"

for your group

-and know where the bathrooms are

because bathroom emergencies are always something that happen sometimes

because it gets very daunting when you're in a crowd

And you're just like "Where am I?"

"Where is everything?" so just having that general first intitial

this is where I am and these are where my facilities are

is super handy And plan in advance

I think is super helpful -Definitely

put timers on your phone so, you know, if you want to go see

a certain celebrity or go see a certain booth

you can put a reminder on your phone so you can enjoy without without

becoming paranoid "Oh, am I going to miss it?"

"Am I going to miss it?"

You can just have a reminder on your phone you can go off and what you want to do

and then, head on over at the right time.

-But don't hate yourself if you don't get to see everything you wanted

to see

Just pick out the things that are the most important to you

because there's no point wearing yourself down

at the end of the day being stressed and panicked

and just exhuasted by beating yourself up about not being able

to see every single single single thing -exactly

I think the way conventions are set-up they're huge huge arenas and

they have a huge amount of people that come in

and everyone wants wants to see everything and everyone has a right to be there

but it kind of is a bit impossible to get around a see absolutely everything

that you want to see but if you have like a Top five

and you manage to get those top five that's pretty cool

that's pretty awesome and some conventions go for two days

invest in a two day ticket if must see as much as possible

but you know be there, have fun

you've invested the money and time to be there and just enjoy it for what it is

a really good experience -and plan breaks

because if you don't and you go this thing and this thing and this

thing you're gong to wear yourself out so quickly

even waiting in line is really tiring

So at GX we had the twentyten campfire and at Comic-Con and AVcon

there was the Reach Out room run by Reach Out and CheckPoint

and Fudgett was at AVcon and he got an interview with them

so lets find out more

So I'm here with Jenny now at the Reach Out Room

and just having a little bit of a talk about what the ReachOut room is really all

about and everything

so Jenny, What is the ReachOut room about? and what are the benefits of having it at

a convention like this?

-So the ReachOut room is a space where attendees of the convention

can come and chill out they can take some time away from

the hustle and bustle that's going on downstairs and all around

if they feel like need to regound themselves of if they just want to sit down

rest their feet and reconnect and it's a way that

everybody can enjoy the convention without feeling pressured

without feeling like there is too much to do

or there is too many people around -So what's the sort of key features of

having a good break out space?

-So we've got some really comfortable beanbags We've got lots of resources

that teach people how to use techniques such a mindfulness

and bodyscanning to reground themselves

We've got a series of iPads that are all loaded up with

ReachOut resources such as ReachOut worry time

ReachOut Orb, ReachOut Breathe all of these apps

are assisting people optimise their mental health

and they also have some games that have been shown to be beneficial for mental health

and wellbeing aswell so it's a space that you can come

and use any way that you like if you just want to come and sit

and play on your phone for a little bit that's also fine

if you just want to come and listen to music However you need to use it

that's what we're there for -Okay so what's your reception been like here

at AVcon?

How have people responded to it?

-It's the second year we've been done AVcon and we also do conventions all over Australia

It's universally very well recieved we constantly get really reall good feedback

from our guests saying that it was something that they really

needed that it was really useful for them to get

the most out of the convention and we often find that people say

that they wouldn't have even been able to attend the con

if it wasn't for a space like this existing -Alright well fantastic

thanks so much for being here and helping everyone

and thanks for giving me some of your time -absolutely, you're welcome

-thanks

So thanks to Fudgett for doing that interview at AVcon

that was really amazing to see so from my nutritional medicine perspective

Mindfullness is really important not when you're just at conventions

but also in your every day life so on the train, in the car

at school, before a meeting you can use mindfullness

to really help centre and ground yourself so that's really kind of getting back

in touch with your parasympa-

your parasympathetic nervous system I always mess that one up

so thats what we call your "rest and digest" So that's when your body

is concerntrating on doing the core restorative things

focusing on relaxation concentrating on digestion

and that's when you're really engaging in de-stressing

So when you're at a con or you know you're out at work

things are happening and it's really really busy

You're in this 'sympathetic' overload and that can be really kind of stressing for

a lot of people and you don't really realise it's happening

you're not breathing as deeply as you should and a lot of people have really adverse kinds

of reactions So we were talking about IBS before

those people are really like in super sympathetic nervous system mode

and for them doing something as simple as 2 minutes of mindfulness

can really help dampen down help relax them

and get to that good space

-and if you didn't understand all of that

don't worry we're going to another episode that's dedicated to mindfulness

and the games and apps that can help you in everyday life

but back to conventions

Money.

You've already spent a lot of money to get there

and not everyone has access to a lot of money but there is always so much temptation everywhere

-Oh yeah basically conventions are great selling techniques

they're there to sell you games they're there to sell you art

they're there to sell you products and it's wonderful because you can get so

much information in one day

but I reckon, go with a budget set yourself out the amount of money you can

afford don't go into debt

just because it's shiny and you get in the hype of it all

so set yourself a budget pay in cash if you can

that's a great way to stick to it because you run out of money

and then also if you see things that you really really love

you can always take a photo with your phone or take a business card of the artist

and you can always buy it later on on esty or whatever platform they are selling

their wares on -basically think of conventions as a giant

catalogue and all the goods are there

which you can pie and pick later -exactly

they're not going anywhere sometimes they'll have exclusive discounts

and things but then you really have to weigh up

the cost of buying it then and there and the cost of potientally not having the

money later when you need it

for like petrol or food

And talking about being in a space with so many things and so many people

You have to remember that that mass is people

and individuals and to respect them

-there not just, you know, obstacles that are in your way to getting to a booth

to getting to someone you know, they are people who have also paid

to be there and paid for the experience of going to the

convention so you've got to be mindful

that yeah, you've got to wait your turn or say excuse me

say please, say thank you remember that these are people

who are there to experience what you are there to experience

and you know deep down you have really similar interests

so, you know, they're part of your tribe they're part of your community

-it's kind of one of those self care ones where

by giving out the care to other people hopefully it will be returned to you

and if it's not keep in mind that there's always employees

and volunteers that are there are conventions who are there to help

make sure you are supported and so if you do need them

go and seek them out because that's what they are there for

Yeah they're there to make sure you're having a great time

and other people are having a great time They put in a lot of effort

there are a lot of volunteers that go into these things

to make sure that everyone has a really good time

and don't try to deal with things yourself because you don't neccessarily know how to

do that or the best way to do it

but that's what they are there for so use them, they're there to help

So, giving feedback on what you liked and what you didn't like

and maybe instead of saying "it was just crap" Say, "It was not great because x..."

and then may say how they could have improved that

like, there wasn't enough accessibilty for people with prams and wheelchairs

where they might need those and constructive criticism

as well as positive feedback so they can make these even better and greater

for all of us -Yeah, if there is a ReachOut Room or

and there is plenty of water fountains and you saw a ramp

and you're like, "This is Amazing!

This is Great!"

Tell them!

Tell them!

Because when you tell them the convention, even if it's later on

a week later is probably even better when it's all calmed down,

tell the organisers so when they organise it next year

they make sure that these things are included and they are worth spending the money on

and even if it didn't personally affect you Say, I can get up and down stairs fine

but if you see someone who needs ramps, or no ramps basically

it helps them out and like, unisex bathrooms

if they've got those some people really appreciate that

so if they've included that tell them they've done a great job

or if you feel it's something they should include

tell them that as well - It's all about making it fun and accessible

for everyone involved and especially with things like the ReachOut

room a lot of people who use it

might not give positive feedback on the day or might not feel comfortable contacting the

venue after but the more positive feedback they get about

these things the more people realise that

actual mental health is really important and that it's a real thing

and that people need support and by providing those resources

it really helps people and we should, you know, be all for it

The number one thing about self care at conventions is have fun

and make sure you are supporting the people around you

to have fun and then if you're not having fun

think about it- stop and take a moment to figure out

to either relax, seek help and find a way to make it more enjoyable for

yourself

-have some water

eat some food

take some breaths

take a moment then dive back in

-So hope you have a great convention where ever it may be

and until next time Auf Wiedersehen

-See ya!

It will not be the first experiment with advanced pizza delivery technology. Australia-based Dominos Pizza Enterprises, the Ann Arbor-based companys largest independent franchisee, has tested delivery to customers in New Zealand via drone and self-driving robot.

In a blog post last week, Sherif Marakby, head of Fords autonomous and electric vehicles, signaled the automakers broader ambitions, saying Ford planned to cooperate with multiple partners in deploying self-driving vehicles designed to improve the movement of people and goods. Also Read: Fiat And A BMW-Led Group To Jointly Develop New Self-Driving Vehicles   Previously, Ford executives had said the company expected to launch a self-driving shuttle for commercial ride-sharing fleets in 2021.

Camila Cabello lifts the lid on upcoming 'self-discovery' album - Duration: 2:39.

Camila Cabello lifts the lid on upcoming 'self-discovery' album

GOING SOLO: Camilas album drops in September. The former X Factor USA star has opened up about the record to Rollacoaster – admitting she used music to help her get through some of the most difficult times in her life.

Chatting about writing her debut album, Camila said: I think I was just avoiding talking about the hurt that I was feeling and I didn't want to come to terms with it.   I feel like writing is such an intimate process.

HONEST: Camilas album could be about the Fifth Harmony rift. I mean at least for me, theres no way I could write about stuff without going through it at the time or feeling a certain way about it at the time.

She continued: It leads to a lot of self-discovery because you're asking yourself questions, like how do I feel today? How do I feel about this? Camila has already enjoyed success as a solo artist.

RISING STAR: Camila is set to become one of the worlds biggest stars.

Her 2017 hit Crying in the Club reached number 12 in the UK charts, while her latest single Havana has already broken into the Top 40.

Camila has managed to maintain a dignified silence after Fifth Harmony cruelly used their VMA performance to slam her.

At the start of their performance, the five silhouettes could be seen boldly standing at the top of the stage in large puffer jackets.

As the lights changed the fifth member, an apparent Camila stand in, was thrown back and off the stage before the girls continued as if nothing had happened.

Explaining how working alone is completely different from life in the band, Camila continued: "The biggest challenge I think, honestly, the workload, because I'm such a perfectionist and I want everything to be right and I stress over every little detail – it all requires 100%.

In a group, other people do it for you, if that makes sense, because nobody can handle five different opinions on one thing..
